¹At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.

²และเยโรโบอัมรับสั่งกับมเหสีของพระองค์ว่า "จงลุกขึ้นปลอมตัวของเธอ อย่าให้รู้ว่าเธอเป็นมเหสีของเยโรโบอัม และจงไปยังชีโลห์ ดูเถิด อาหิยาห์ผู้พยากรณ์อยู่ที่นั่น ผู้ได้กล่าวเรื่องฉันว่าฉันจะได้เป็นกษัตริย์เหนือชนชาตินี้

²Jeroboam said to his wife, “Please get up and disguise yourself, that you won’t be recognized as the wife of Jeroboam. Go to Shiloh. Behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, who spoke concerning me that I should be king over this people.

³เธอจงเอาขนมปังสิบก้อน และขนมหวานบ้างและน้ำผึ้งไหหนึ่ง ไปหาท่าน ท่านจะบอกเธอว่าอะไรจะเกิดขึ้นกับเด็กนั้น"

³Take with you ten loaves, and cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what will become of the child.”

⁴มเหสีของเยโรโบอัมก็กระทำดังนั้น พระนางลุกขึ้น เสด็จไปยังชีโลห์เสด็จมาถึงบ้านของอาหิยาห์ ฝ่ายอาหิยาห์มองไม่เห็น เพราะว่าตาของท่านแข็งด้วยอายุของท่าน

⁴Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.

⁵พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับอาหิยาห์ว่า "ดูเถิด มเหสีของเยโรโบอัมกำลังมาเพื่อจะถามเจ้าถึงเรื่องโอรสของเขา เพราะเด็กนั้นป่วย เจ้าจงบอกเธออย่างนี้ๆ เพราะเมื่อพระนางเสด็จเข้ามา พระนางก็แสร้งกระทำเป็นสตรีคนอื่น"

⁵Yahweh said to Ahijah, “Behold, the wife of Jeroboam comes to inquire of you concerning her son; for he is sick. Thus and thus you shall tell her; for it will be, when she comes in, that she will pretend to be another woman.”

⁶แต่เมื่ออาหิยาห์ได้ยินเสียงฝีพระบาทของพระนาง เมื่อพระนางเสด็จมาถึงประตู ท่านจึงพูดว่า "ขอเชิญพระมเหสีของเยโรโบอัมเสด็จเข้ามาข้างใน ไฉนพระองค์จึงทรงแสร้งกระทำเป็นคนอื่นเล่า เพราะข้าพระองค์ได้รับพระบัญชาให้ทูลข่าวอันน่าสลดใจแก่พระนาง

⁶It was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, “Come in, you wife of Jeroboam! Why do you pretend to be another? For I am sent to you with heavy news.

⁷ขอเสด็จกลับไปทูลเยโรโบอัมว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสดังนี้ว่า เพราะเราได้เชิดชูเจ้าขึ้นจากประชาชน และได้กระทำให้เจ้าเป็นประมุขเหนืออิสราเอลประชาชนของเรา

⁷Go, tell Jeroboam, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: “Because I exalted you from among the people, and made you prince over my people Israel,

⁸และได้ฉีกราชอาณาจักรจากราชวงศ์ของดาวิดมาให้แก่เจ้า และถึงกระนั้นเจ้าก็ไม่เป็นเหมือนดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของเรา ผู้ได้รักษาบัญญัติทั้งหลายของเรา และติดตามเราด้วยสุดจิตใจของเขา กระทำสิ่งซึ่งเป็นที่ถูกต้องพอตาของเรา

⁸and tore the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it you; and yet you have not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in my eyes,

⁹แต่เจ้าได้กระทำชั่วยิ่งกว่าคนทั้งปวงที่อยู่ก่อนเจ้า และได้ไปสร้างพระอื่นและรูปหล่อและได้กระทำให้เราโกรธ และได้เหวี่ยงเราไว้เสียเบื้องหลังของเจ้า

⁹but have done evil above all who were before you, and have gone and made you other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and have cast me behind your back:

¹⁰เพราะฉะนั้น ดูเถิด เราจะนำเหตุร้ายมาเหนือราชวงศ์ของเยโรโบอัม และจะตัดคนที่ปัสสาวะรดกำแพงได้เสียจากเยโรโบอัม ทั้งคนที่ยังอยู่และเหลืออยู่ในอิสราเอล และจะผลาญคนที่เหลือในราชวงศ์เยโรโบอัมเสียอย่างสิ้นเชิง อย่างคนที่ขนมูลสัตว์ไปทิ้งจนหมด

¹⁰therefore, behold, I will bring evil on the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam everyone who urinates on a wall, or, male he who is shut up and he who is left at large in Israel, and will utterly sweep away the house of Jeroboam, as a man sweeps away dung, until it is all gone.

¹¹ผู้ใดในวงศ์เยโรโบอัมที่ตายในเมืองสุนัขจะกิน และผู้ใดที่ตายในทุ่ง นกในอากาศจะกิน เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงลั่นพระวาจาไว้'

¹¹He who dies of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and he who dies in the field shall the birds of the sky eat: for Yahweh has spoken it.”’

¹²เพราะฉะนั้นขอเชิญเสด็จกลับไปยังพระตำหนักของพระนาง เมื่อพระบาทของพระองค์เข้าเมือง กุมารนั้นก็จะถึงแก่มรณา

¹²Arise therefore, and go to your house. When your feet enter into the city, the child shall die.

¹³และอิสราเอลทั้งปวงจะไว้ทุกข์ให้เธอ และจะฝังศพเธอไว้ เพราะเธอผู้เดียวเท่านั้นในราชวงศ์เยโรโบอัมที่จะไปถึงหลุมศพ เพราะในตัวเธอนั้นยังเห็นบางสิ่งที่พอพระทัยพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ในราชวงศ์ของเยโรโบอัม

¹³All Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward Yahweh, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.

¹⁴ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงตั้งกษัตริย์อีกองค์หนึ่งเหนืออิสราเอลเพื่อพระองค์ ผู้ซึ่งจะตัดราชวงศ์ของเยโรโบอัมเสียในวันนี้ แต่นั่นอะไร ก็เป็นเวลานี้

¹⁴Moreover Yahweh will raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam. This is day! What? Even now.

¹⁵เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงตีอิสราเอล ดุจไม้อ้อสั่นอยู่ในน้ำ และจะทรงถอนรากอิสราเอลออกเสียจากแผ่นดินอันดีนี้ ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงยกให้แก่บรรพบุรุษของเขา และกระจายเขาไปฟากแม่น้ำข้างโน้น เพราะเขาทั้งหลายได้สร้างเสารูปเคารพของเขา เป็นเหตุให้พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงพระพิโรธ

¹⁵For Yahweh will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and he will root up Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking Yahweh to anger.

¹⁶และพระองค์จะทรงมอบอิสราเอลไว้เพราะบาปทั้งหลายของเยโรโบอัม ซึ่งเขาได้กระทำบาปและกระทำให้อิสราเอลทำบาปด้วย"

¹⁶He will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he has sinned, and with which he has made Israel to sin.”

¹⁷แล้วมเหสีของเยโรโบอัมทรงลุกขึ้นเสด็จออกไป และมาถึงเมืองทีรซาห์ และเมื่อพระนางเสด็จถึงธรณีทวาร กุมารก็ถึงแก่มรณา

¹⁷Jeroboam’s wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah. As she came to the threshold of the house, the child died.

¹⁸และอิสราเอลทั้งปวงก็ฝังศพเธอและไว้ทุกข์ให้เธอ ตามพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ ซึ่งพระองค์ตรัสโดยอาหิยาห์ผู้พยากรณ์ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์

¹⁸All Israel buried him, and mourned for him, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the prophet.

¹⁹ฝ่ายราชกิจนอกนั้นของเยโรโบอัมกล่าวถึงว่าพระองค์ทรงทำศึก และทรงครอบครองอย่างไรนั้น ดูเถิด ก็บันทึกไว้ในหนังสือพงศาวดารแห่งกษัตริย์ประเทศอิสราเอล

¹⁹The rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

²⁰เวลาที่เยโรโบอัมครอบครองนั้นเป็นยี่สิบสองปี และพระองค์ก็ล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ และนาดับราชโอรสของพระองค์ก็ขึ้นครองแทน

²⁰The days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his place.

²¹ฝ่ายเรโหโบอัมราชโอรสของซาโลมอนทรงครอบครองอยู่ในยูดาห์ เมื่อเรโหโบอัมขึ้นครองนั้น มีพระชนมายุสี่สิบเอ็ดพรรษา และทรงครองในเยรูซาเล็มสิบเจ็ดปี เป็นนครซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงเลือกจากบรรดาตระกูลอิสราเอล เพื่อจะสถาปนาพระนามของพระองค์ที่นั่น พระชนนีของกษัตริย์มีพระนามว่านาอามาห์คนอัมโมน

²¹Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there: and his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

²²และยูดาห์ได้กระทำชั่วในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์ และเขาทั้งหลายได้ยั่วยุให้พระองค์หวงแหนด้วยบาปทั้งหลายที่เขาได้กระทำ ซึ่งมากกว่าบาปทั้งสิ้นที่บรรพบุรุษของเขาได้กระทำเสียอีก

²²Judah did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they committed, above all that their fathers had done.

²³เพราะเขาได้สร้างปูชนียสถานสูงด้วย และเสาศักดิ์สิทธิ์ และเสารูปเคารพสำหรับตัวเขาไว้บนเนินเขาสูงๆทุกเนิน และใต้ต้นไม้เขียวทุกต้น

²³For they also built them high places, and pillars, and Asherim, on every high hill, and under every green tree;

²⁴และมีกะเทยในแผ่นดินนั้นด้วย และเขาได้กระทำตามบรรดาสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนของประชาชาติทั้งหลาย ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงขับไล่ออกไปให้พ้นหน้าประชาชนอิสราเอล

²⁴and there were also sodomites in the land: they did according to all the abominations of the nations which Yahweh drove out before the children of Israel.

²⁵ต่อมาในปีที่ห้าแห่งกษัตริย์เรโหโบอัม ชิชักกษัตริย์อียิปต์ได้ขึ้นมารบกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

²⁵It happened in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem;

²⁶ท่านได้เก็บทรัพย์สมบัติในพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และทรัพย์สมบัติในพระราชวังของกษัตริย์ ท่านได้เก็บไปเสียทุกอย่าง และท่านได้เก็บโล่ทองคำซึ่งซาโลมอนได้สร้างนั้นไปหมดด้วย

²⁶and he took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king’s house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

²⁷และกษัตริย์เรโหโบอัมได้กระทำโล่ทองสัมฤทธิ์แทนไว้ และมอบไว้ในมือของพวกทหารรักษาพระองค์ผู้เฝ้าทวารพระราชวัง

²⁷King Rehoboam made in their place shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house.

²⁸เมื่อกษัตริย์เสด็จเข้าไปยังพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ ทหารรักษาพระองค์ก็ถือโล่ออก แล้วนำกลับไปเก็บไว้ในห้องทหารรักษาพระองค์ตามเดิม

²⁸It was so, that as often as the king went into the house of Yahweh, the guard bore them, and brought them back into the guard room.

²⁹ฝ่ายพระราชกิจนอกนั้นของเรโหโบอัม และสรรพสิ่งที่ทรงกระทำ มิได้บันทึกไว้ในหนังสือพงศาวดารแห่งกษัตริย์ประเทศยูดาห์หรือ

²⁹Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

³⁰มีสงครามระหว่างเรโหโบอัมและเยโรโบอัมเสมอไป

³⁰There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.

³¹และเรโหโบอัมก็ทรงล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ และเขาก็ฝังไว้กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ในนครดาวิด พระนามของพระชนนีของพระองค์คือนาอามาห์คนอัมโมน และอาบียัมราชโอรสก็ขึ้นครองแทน

³¹Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess. Abijam his son reigned in his place.
