¹แต่ในปีที่เจ็ดเยโฮยาดาได้กล้าแข็งขึ้น และให้พวกนายร้อยกระทำพันธสัญญากับท่าน มีอาซาริยาห์บุตรชายเยโรฮัม อิชมาเอลบุตรชายเยโฮฮานนัน อาซาริยาห์บุตรชายโอเบด มาอาเสอาห์บุตรชายอาดายาห์ และเอลีชาฟัทบุตรชายศิครี

¹In the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.

²และเขาทั้งหลายเที่ยวไปทั่วยูดาห์และรวบรวมคนเลวีมาจากทุกหัวเมืองของยูดาห์ ทั้งบรรดาหัวประมุขของบรรพบุรุษของอิสราเอล และเขาทั้งหลายมายังเยรูซาเล็ม

²They went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the heads of fathers’ households of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

³และบรรดาชุมนุมชนทั้งสิ้นก็ทำพันธสัญญากับกษัตริย์ในพระนิเวศของพระเจ้า และเยโฮยาดากล่าวแก่เขาทั้งหลายว่า "ดูเถิด โอรสของกษัตริย์จะครอบครองตามที่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสเกี่ยวกับบรรดาโอรสของดาวิด

³All the assembly made a covenant with the king in God’s house. He said to them, “Behold, the king’s son shall reign, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the sons of David.

⁴ท่านทั้งหลายจงกระทำอย่างนี้ คือท่านผู้เป็นปุโรหิตและคนเลวี ผู้ออกเวรในวันสะบาโตหนึ่งในสาม ให้เป็นคนเฝ้าประตู

⁴This is the thing that you shall do. A third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters of the thresholds.

⁵และหนึ่งในสามให้อยู่ที่พระราชสำนัก และหนึ่งในสามให้อยู่ที่ประตูเชิงราก และให้ประชาชนทั้งปวงอยู่ในลานพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์

⁵A third part shall be at the king’s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation. All the people shall be in the courts of Yahweh’s house.

⁶แต่อย่าให้สักคนหนึ่งเข้าไปในพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ นอกจากปุโรหิตและคนเลวีที่ปรนนิบัติอยู่ เขาทั้งหลายเข้าไปได้ เพราะเขาทั้งหลายบริสุทธิ์ แต่ประชาชนทั้งปวงจะต้องรักษาการบังคับบัญชาของพระเยโฮวาห์

⁶But let no one come into the house of Yahweh, except the priests, and those who minister of the Levites. They shall come in, for they are holy, but all the people shall follow Yahweh’s instructions.

⁷ให้คนเลวีล้อมกษัตริย์ไว้ แต่ละคนให้ถืออาวุธ และผู้ใดเข้าไปในพระนิเวศนั้นจะต้องถูกประหาร จงอยู่กับกษัตริย์เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จเข้ามา และเมื่อพระองค์เสด็จออกไป"

⁷The Levites shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand. Whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. Be with the king when he comes in, and when he goes out.”

⁸คนเลวีและคนยูดาห์ทั้งปวงได้กระทำทุกสิ่งที่เยโฮยาดาปุโรหิตได้บัญชาไว้ เขาทั้งหลายต่างก็นำคนของเขามา คือทั้งคนที่ออกเวรในวันสะบาโต และบรรดาคนเหล่านั้นที่จะเข้าเวรในวันสะบาโต เพราะเยโฮยาดาปุโรหิตมิได้ปล่อยกองเวร

⁸So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath; with those who were to go out on the Sabbath; for Jehoiada the priest didn’t dismiss the shift.

⁹และเยโฮยาดาปุโรหิตได้มอบหอกกับดั้งและโล่ซึ่งเป็นของกษัตริย์ดาวิดนั้น ซึ่งอยู่ในพระนิเวศของพระเจ้าให้ผู้บังคับบัญชากองร้อย

⁹Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David’s, which were in God’s house.

¹⁰และท่านได้ตั้งประชาชนทั้งสิ้นให้ล้อมกษัตริย์ไว้ ทุกคนถืออาวุธตั้งแต่ด้านขวาของพระวิหารถึงด้านซ้ายของพระวิหาร รอบแท่นบูชาและพระวิหาร

¹⁰He set all the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, along by the altar and the house, around the king.

¹¹แล้วเขานำโอรสของกษัตริย์ออกมา และสวมมงกุฎให้ท่าน มอบพระโอวาทให้แก่ท่าน และเขาทั้งหลายตั้งท่านไว้เป็นกษัตริย์ เยโฮยาดากับบุตรชายของท่านก็เจิมพระองค์ และเขาทั้งหลายร้องว่า "ขอกษัตริย์ทรงพระเจริญ"

¹¹Then they brought out the king’s son, and put the crown on him, and gave him the testimony, and made him king: and Jehoiada and his sons anointed him; and they said, “Long live the king!”

¹²เมื่ออาธาลิยาห์ได้ยินเสียงประชาชนวิ่งและสรรเสริญกษัตริย์ พระนางก็เสด็จเข้าไปหาประชาชนในพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์

¹²When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of Yahweh:

¹³และเมื่อพระนางทอดพระเนตร ดูเถิด มีกษัตริย์ประทับยืนอยู่ที่เสาของพระองค์ตรงที่ทางเข้า บรรดาผู้บังคับกองและพลแตรก็อยู่ข้างกษัตริย์ และประชาชนทั้งปวงแห่งแผ่นดินก็เปรมปรีดิ์และเป่าแตร บรรดานักร้องพร้อมกับเครื่องดนตรีของเขาก็นำการสรรเสริญ พระนางอาธาลิยาห์ก็ฉีกฉลองพระองค์ของพระนาง ทรงร้องว่า "กบฏ กบฏ"

¹³and she looked, and, behold, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, and the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets; the singers also played musical instruments, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and said, “Treason! treason!”

¹⁴แล้วเยโฮยาดาปุโรหิตจึงนำบรรดานายร้อยผู้บัญชาการกองทัพออกมา สั่งเขาว่า "จงคุมพระนางออกมาระหว่างแถวทหาร ผู้ใดที่ตามพระนางไปก็ให้ประหารชีวิตเสียด้วยดาบ" เพราะปุโรหิตกล่าวว่า "อย่าประหารพระนางในพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์"

¹⁴Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t kill her in the Yahweh’s house.”

¹⁵เขาจึงจับพระนาง แล้วพระนางก็เสด็จไปที่ทางเข้าประตูม้า ณ พระราชวังและเขาทั้งหลายก็ประหารพระนางเสียที่นั่น

¹⁵So they made way for her. She went to the entrance of the horse gate to the king’s house; and they killed her there.

¹⁶เยโฮยาดาได้กระทำพันธสัญญาระหว่างท่านเองกับประชาชนทั้งปวงและกษัตริย์ว่า เขาทั้งหลายจะเป็นประชาชนของพระเยโฮวาห์

¹⁶Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, and all the people, and the king, that they should be Yahweh’s people.

¹⁷แล้วประชาชนทั้งปวงก็ไปที่นิเวศของพระบาอัล และพังลงเสีย และเขาทุบแท่นบูชาและรูปเคารพของพระบาอัลนั้นให้เป็นชิ้นๆ และเขาประหารมัทธานปุโรหิตของพระบาอัลเสียที่หน้าแท่นบูชา

¹⁷All the people went to the house of Baal, and broke it down, and broke his altars and his images in pieces, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

¹⁸เยโฮยาดาวางยามไว้ดูแลพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ภายใต้การควบคุมของปุโรหิตแห่งคนเลวี ผู้ซึ่งดาวิดทรงจัดตั้งให้ดูแลพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ ให้ถวายเครื่องเผาบูชาแด่พระเยโฮวาห์ ตามที่บันทึกไว้ในพระราชบัญญัติของโมเสส ด้วยความเปรมปรีดิ์และการร้องเพลง ตามพระราชดำรัสสั่งของดาวิด

¹⁸Jehoiada appointed the officers of the house of Yahweh under the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of Yahweh, to offer the burnt offerings of Yahweh, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, according to the order of David.

¹⁹ท่านได้ตั้งผู้เฝ้าประตูไว้ที่ประตูรั้วพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ เพื่อมิให้ผู้มีมลทินด้วยประการหนึ่งประการใดเข้าไป

¹⁹He set the porters at the gates of the house of Yahweh, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.

²⁰ท่านได้นำผู้บังคับกองร้อย ขุนนาง ผู้ปกครองประชาชน และบรรดาประชาชนแห่งแผ่นดิน และท่านได้เชิญกษัตริย์ลงมาจากพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ไปทางประตูบนไปสู่พระราชสำนัก และเขาก็เชิญกษัตริย์ประทับบนพระราชบัลลังก์แห่งราชอาณาจักร

²⁰He took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of Yahweh: and they came through the upper gate to the king’s house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.

²¹บรรดาประชาชนแห่งแผ่นดินก็เปรมปรีดิ์ และกรุงก็สงบเงียบหลังจากที่เขาได้ประหารพระนางอาธาลิยาห์เสียด้วยดาบแล้ว

²¹So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. Athaliah they had slain with the sword.
