1ฝ่ายเอลีชาได้บอกหญิงคนที่ท่านได้ให้บุตรชายของนางกลับคืนชีวิตมาว่า "จงลุกขึ้นและออกไปทั้งครัวเรือนของเจ้า ไปอาศัยอยู่ที่ใดซึ่งเจ้าจะอาศัยอยู่ได้ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเรียกให้เกิดการกันดารอาหาร และจะเป็นแก่แผ่นดินนี้เจ็ดปี"
1Now Elisha had spoken to the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise, and go, you and your household, and stay for a while wherever you can; for Yahweh has called for a famine. It shall also come on the land seven years.”
2หญิงคนนั้นก็ลุกขึ้นกระทำตามถ้อยคำของคนแห่งพระเจ้า นางยกออกไปทั้งครัวเรือนของนาง ไปอาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินฟีลิสเตียเจ็ดปี
2The woman arose, and did according to the word of the man of God. She went with her household, and lived in the land of the Philistines seven years.
3และอยู่มาเมื่อสิ้นเจ็ดปีแล้วหญิงคนนั้นก็กลับมาจากแผ่นดินฟีลิสเตีย และได้ออกไปทูลอุทธรณ์ต่อกษัตริย์เพื่อขอบ้านและที่ดินของนางคืน
3It happened at the seven years’ end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines. Then she went forth to cry to the king for her house and for her land.
4ฝ่ายกษัตริย์กำลังตรัสกับเกหะซีคนใช้ของคนแห่งพระเจ้าอยู่ว่า "จงบอกเราถึงบรรดามหกิจที่เอลีชาได้กระทำ"
4Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”
5และอยู่มาเมื่อเขากำลังทูลกษัตริย์ถึงเรื่องที่เอลีชาได้เรียกชีวิตของศพคนหนึ่งกลับคืนมา ดูเถิด ผู้หญิงคนที่ท่านได้ให้บุตรชายกลับคืนชีวิตมาได้อุทธรณ์ต่อกษัตริย์เพื่อขอบ้านและที่ดินของนางคืน และเกหะซีทูลว่า "ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ เจ้านายของข้าพระองค์ นี่เป็นนางคนนั้น และคนนี้แหละเป็นบุตรชายของนาง ซึ่งเอลีชาได้ให้กลับคืนชีวิตมา"
5It happened, as he was telling the king how he had restored to life him who was dead, that behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.”
6และเมื่อกษัตริย์ตรัสถามหญิงคนนั้น นางก็ทูลเรื่องถวายพระองค์ กษัตริย์จึงทรงตั้งเจ้าหน้าที่คนหนึ่งให้แก่นางรับสั่งว่า "จงจัดการคืนทุกสิ่งที่เป็นของของนาง พร้อมทั้งพืชผลของนานั้น ตั้งแต่วันที่นางออกจากแผ่นดินมาจนถึงบัดนี้"
6When the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed to her a certain officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.”
7ฝ่ายเอลีชามายังดามัสกัส เบนฮาดัดกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรียทรงประชวร และเมื่อมีคนทูลว่า "คนแห่งพระเจ้ามาที่นี่"
7Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick. It was told him, saying, “The man of God has come here.”
8กษัตริย์ตรัสกับฮาซาเอลว่า "จงนำของกำนัลไปพบคนแห่งพระเจ้า ให้ทูลถามพระเยโฮวาห์โดยท่านว่า `ข้าพเจ้าจะหายป่วยไหม'"
8The king said to Hazael, “Take a present in your hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of Yahweh by him, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”
9ฮาซาเอลจึงไปพบท่านนำของกำนัลไปด้วย คือสินค้าอย่างดีทุกอย่างของเมืองดามัสกัสจุอูฐต่างสี่สิบตัว เมื่อเขามายืนอยู่ต่อหน้าท่านเขากล่าวว่า "บุตรของท่านคือเบนฮาดัด กษัตริย์แห่งซีเรีย ได้ทรงใช้ข้าพเจ้ามาหาท่าน กล่าวว่า `ข้าพเจ้าจะหายป่วยหรือ'"
9So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, “Your son Benhadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”
10และเอลีชาตอบเขาว่า "จงไปทูลพระองค์ว่า `พระองค์จะทรงหายประชวรแน่' แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสำแดงแก่ข้าพเจ้าว่า พระองค์จะสิ้นพระชนม์แน่"
10Elisha said to him, “Go, tell him, ‘You shall surely recover;’ however Yahweh has shown me that he shall surely die.”
11และท่านก็เพ่งหน้าจ้องมองเขาแน่นิ่งจนเขาอาย และคนแห่งพระเจ้าก็ร้องไห้
11He settled his gaze steadfastly on him, until he was ashamed. Then the man of God wept.
12และฮาซาเอลถามว่า "เหตุใดเจ้านายของข้าพเจ้าจึงร้องไห้" ท่านตอบว่า "เพราะข้าพเจ้าทราบถึงเหตุร้ายซึ่งท่านจะกระทำต่อประชาชนอิสราเอล ท่านจะเอาไฟเผาป้อมปราการของเขาเสีย และท่านจะสังหารคนหนุ่มๆเสียด้วยดาบ และจับเด็กๆโยนลง และผ่าท้องหญิงที่มีครรภ์เสีย"
12Hazael said, “Why do you weep, my lord?” He answered, “Because I know the evil that you will do to the children of Israel. You will set their strongholds on fire, and you will kill their young men with the sword, and will dash in pieces their little ones, and rip up their women with child.”
13และฮาซาเอลตอบว่า "ผู้รับใช้ของท่านผู้เป็นแต่เพียงสุนัขเป็นใครเล่า ซึ่งจะกระทำสิ่งใหญ่โตนี้" เอลีชาตอบว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสำแดงแก่ข้าพเจ้าว่า ท่านจะเป็นกษัตริย์ครอบครองประเทศซีเรีย"
13Hazael said, “But what is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?” Elisha answered, “Yahweh has shown me that you will be king over Syria.”
14และเขาก็ไปจากเอลีชามายังนายของตน ผู้ซึ่งถามเขาว่า "เอลีชาว่าอย่างไรกับเจ้าบ้าง" และเขาทูลตอบว่า "เขาบอกว่าพระองค์จะหายประชวรแน่"
14Then he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” He answered, “He told me that you would surely recover.”
15และอยู่มาในวันรุ่งขึ้นเขาก็เอาผ้าปูที่นอนจุ่มน้ำคลุมพระพักตร์พระองค์ไว้ จนพระองค์สิ้นพระชนม์ และฮาซาเอลก็ขึ้นครองแทน
15It happened on the next day, that he took a thick cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died. Then Hazael reigned in his place.
16ในปีที่ห้าแห่งโยรัมโอรสอาหับกษัตริย์ของอิสราเอล เมื่อเยโฮชาฟัทยังเป็นกษัตริย์ของยูดาห์อยู่ เยโฮรัมโอรสเยโฮชาฟัทกษัตริย์ของยูดาห์ได้ทรงเริ่มครอบครอง
16In the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being king of Judah then, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.
17เมื่อพระองค์ทรงเริ่มครอบครองนั้นมีพระชนมายุสามสิบสองพรรษา และพระองค์ทรงครอบครองในเยรูซาเล็มแปดปี
17He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign. He reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
18และพระองค์ทรงดำเนินตามมรรคาของบรรดากษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล ตามอย่างที่ราชวงศ์อาหับกระทำ เพราะว่าธิดาของอาหับเป็นมเหสีของพระองค์ และพระองค์ทรงกระทำชั่วในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์
18He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for he had the daughter of Ahab as wife. He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.
19อย่างไรก็ดีพระเยโฮวาห์จะไม่ทรงทำลายยูดาห์ เพราะทรงเห็นแก่ดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ เหตุที่พระองค์ได้ตรัสสัญญาว่า จะทรงประทานประทีปแก่ดาวิด และแก่ราชโอรสของพระองค์เป็นนิตย์
19However Yahweh would not destroy Judah, for David his servant’s sake, as he promised him to give to him a lamp for his children always.
20ในรัชกาลของพระองค์เอโดมได้กบฏออกห่างจากการปกครองของยูดาห์ และตั้งกษัตริย์ขึ้นเหนือตน
20In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
21แล้วโยรัมก็เสด็จพร้อมกับบรรดารถรบของพระองค์ผ่านไปถึงศาอีร์ พอกลางคืนพระองค์ก็ลุกขึ้นโจมตีคนเอโดมซึ่งมาล้อมพระองค์นั้น พร้อมกับผู้บัญชาการรถรบ แล้วกองทัพได้หนีกลับเต็นท์เสีย
21Then Joram passed over to Zair, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and struck the Edomites who surrounded him, and the captains of the chariots; and the people fled to their tents.
22เอโดมจึงได้กบฏออกห่างจากการปกครองของยูดาห์จนทุกวันนี้ แล้วลิบนาห์ก็ได้กบฏในคราวเดียวกัน
22So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
23ส่วนพระราชกิจนอกนั้นของโยรัม และบรรดาสิ่งซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำ มิได้บันทึกไว้ในหนังสือพงศาวดารแห่งกษัตริย์ประเทศยูดาห์หรือ
23The rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
24โยรัมจึงทรงล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ และเขาฝังไว้กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ในนครดาวิด และอาหัสยาห์โอรสของพระองค์ได้ขึ้นครองแทน
24Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
25ในปีที่สิบสองแห่งราชกาลโยรัมโอรสของอาหับกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล อาหัสยาห์โอรสเยโฮรัมกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ได้ทรงเริ่มครอบครอง
25In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah began to reign.
26เมื่ออาหัสยาห์ทรงเริ่มครอบครองนั้นมีพระชนมายุยี่สิบสองพรรษา และทรงครอบครองในเยรูซาเล็มหนึ่งปี พระมารดาของพระองค์ทรงพระนามอาธาลิยาห์ พระนางเป็นธิดาของอมรีกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล
26Twenty-two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
27พระองค์ทรงดำเนินตามมรรคาราชวงศ์ของอาหับด้วย และทรงกระทำชั่วในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์ ดังที่ราชวงศ์ของอาหับได้กระทำ เพราะทรงเป็นราชบุตรเขยในราชวงศ์ของอาหับ
27He walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did the house of Ahab; for he was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab.
28พระองค์เสด็จกับโยรัมโอรสของอาหับเพื่อทำสงครามกับฮาซาเอลกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรียที่ราโมทกิเลอาด และคนซีเรียกระทำให้โยรัมบาดเจ็บ
28He went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead: and the Syrians wounded Joram.
29และกษัตริย์โยรัมได้กลับมารักษาพระองค์ที่ยิสเรเอลให้หายบาดเจ็บจากที่คนซีเรียได้กระทำแก่พระองค์ที่รามาห์ เมื่อพระองค์ทรงสู้กันกับฮาซาเอลกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรีย และอาหัสยาห์โอรสของเยโฮรัมกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ได้เสด็จลงไปหาโยรัมโอรสของอาหับในยิสเรเอล เพราะว่าพระองค์ทรงประชวร
29King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
