¹อยู่มาเมื่อกษัตริย์ประทับในพระราชวังของพระองค์ และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงโปรดให้พระองค์พักจากการรบศึกรอบด้าน

¹It happened, when the king lived in his house, and Yahweh had given him rest from all his enemies all around,

²กษัตริย์ตรัสกับนาธันผู้พยากรณ์ว่า "ดูซิ เราอยู่ในบ้านทำด้วยไม้สนสีดาร์ แต่หีบของพระเจ้าอยู่ในผ้าม่าน"

²that the king said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains.”

³และนาธันทูลกษัตริย์ว่า "ขอเชิญทรงกระทำทั้งสิ้นตามพระประสงค์ของพระองค์ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสถิตกับพระองค์"

³Nathan said to the king, “Go, do all that is in your heart; for Yahweh is with you.”

⁴แต่อยู่มาในคืนวันนั้นเอง พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มาถึงนาธันว่า

⁴It happened the same night, that the word of Yahweh came to Nathan, saying,

⁵"จงไปบอกดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของเราว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้าจะสร้างนิเวศให้เราอยู่หรือ

⁵“Go and tell my servant David, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “Shall you build me a house for me to dwell in?

⁶เราไม่เคยอยู่ในนิเวศนับแต่วันที่เราพาคนอิสราเอลออกจากอียิปต์จนกระทั่งวันนี้ แต่เราก็ไปมากับเต็นท์และกับพลับพลา

⁶For I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have moved around in a tent and in a tabernacle.

⁷ในที่ต่างๆที่เราได้เคลื่อนไปมากับชนชาติอิสราเอลทั้งหมด เราได้เคยพูดสักคำกับตระกูลของอิสราเอลตระกูลใด ผู้ที่เราบัญชาให้เขาเลี้ยงดูอิสราเอลประชาชนของเราหรือว่า "ทำไมเจ้ามิได้สร้างนิเวศด้วยไม้สนสีดาร์ให้แก่เรา"'

⁷In all places in which I have walked with all the children of Israel, did I say a word to any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, ‘Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’”’

⁸เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้เจ้าจงกล่าวแก่ดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของเราว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้ว่า เราเอาเจ้ามาจากทุ่งหญ้า จากการตามฝูงแพะแกะ เพื่อให้เจ้าเป็นเจ้าเหนืออิสราเอลประชาชนของเรา

⁸Now therefore you shall tell my servant David this, ‘Thus says Yahweh of Armies, “I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people, over Israel.

⁹เราได้อยู่กับเจ้าไม่ว่าเจ้าไปที่ไหน และได้ขจัดบรรดาศัตรูของเจ้าให้พ้นหน้าเจ้า และเรากระทำให้เจ้ามีชื่อเสียงใหญ่โต อย่างกับชื่อเสียงของผู้ใหญ่ในโลก

⁹I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.

¹⁰และเราจะกำหนดที่หนึ่งให้อิสราเอลประชาชนของเรา และเราจะปลูกฝังเขาไว้ เพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะได้อยู่ในที่ของเขาเอง และไม่ต้องถูกกวนใจอีก และคนชั่วจะไม่ข่มเหงเขาอีกดังแต่ก่อนมา

¹⁰I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as at the first,

¹¹ตั้งแต่สมัยเมื่อเราตั้งผู้วินิจฉัยเหนืออิสราเอลประชาชนของเรา และเราให้เจ้าพ้นจากการรบศึกรอบด้าน ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีกพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสแก่เจ้าว่าพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงให้เจ้ามีราชวงศ์

¹¹and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover Yahweh tells you that Yahweh will make you a house.

¹²เมื่อวันของเจ้าครบแล้ว และเจ้านอนพักอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า เราจะให้เชื้อสายของเจ้าที่มาภายหลังเจ้าเกิดขึ้นผู้ซึ่งเกิดมาจากบั้นเอวของเจ้าเอง และเราจะสถาปนาอาณาจักรของเขา

¹²When your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who shall proceed out of your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

¹³เขาจะเป็นผู้สร้างนิเวศเพื่อนามของเรา และเราจะสถาปนาบัลลังก์แห่งราชอาณาจักรของเขาให้อยู่เป็นนิตย์

¹³He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

¹⁴เราจะเป็นบิดาของเขา และเขาจะเป็นบุตรของเรา ถ้าเขากระทำความชั่วช้า เราจะตีสอนเขาด้วยไม้เรียวของมนุษย์ ด้วยการเฆี่ยนแห่งบุตรทั้งหลายของมนุษย์

¹⁴I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men;

¹⁵แต่ความเมตตาของเราจะไม่พรากไปจากเขาเสีย ดังที่เราพรากไปจากซาอูล ซึ่งเราได้ถอดเสียให้พ้นหน้าเจ้า

¹⁵but my loving kindness shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.

¹⁶ราชวงศ์ของเจ้าและอาณาจักรของเจ้าจะดำรงอยู่ต่อหน้าเจ้าอย่างมั่นคงเป็นนิตย์ และบัลลังก์ของเจ้าจะถูกสถาปนาไว้เป็นนิตย์'"

¹⁶Your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.”’”

¹⁷นาธันก็กราบทูลดาวิดตามถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้นและตามนิมิตนี้ทั้งหมด

¹⁷According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

¹⁸แล้วกษัตริย์ดาวิดจึงเสด็จเข้าไปนั่งเฝ้าพระเยโฮวาห์ และกราบทูลว่า "ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า ข้าพระองค์เป็นผู้ใดเล่า และวงศ์วานของข้าพระองค์เป็นผู้ใดพระองค์จึงทรงนำข้าพระองค์มาไกลถึงแค่นี้

¹⁸Then David the king went in, and sat before Yahweh; and he said, “Who am I, Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?

¹⁹ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า แต่นี่ก็เป็นสิ่งเล็กน้อยในสายพระเนตรของพระองค์ และพระองค์ทรงลั่นพระวาจาถึงราชวงศ์ของผู้รับใช้พระองค์ในอนาคตอันไกลที่จะมาถึงนั้น ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า และนี่เป็นธรรมดาของมนุษย์หรือ

¹⁹This was yet a small thing in your eyes, Lord Yahweh; but you have spoken also of your servant’s house for a great while to come; and this after the way of men, Lord Yahweh!

²⁰ดาวิดจะกราบทูลประการใดอีกต่อพระองค์ได้เล่า ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า พระองค์ทรงรู้จักผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์

²⁰What more can David say to you? For you know your servant, Lord Yahweh.

²¹ที่พระองค์ทรงกระทำสิ่งใหญ่โตนี้ทั้งสิ้น เพื่อให้ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ทราบก็เพราะเหตุพระวจนะของพระองค์ และตามชอบพระทัยของพระองค์

²¹For your word’s sake, and according to your own heart, you have worked all this greatness, to make your servant know it.

²²ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้า ฉะนั้นพระองค์ทรงยิ่งใหญ่ ไม่มีผู้ใดเหมือนพระองค์ ไม่มีพระเจ้านอกเหนือพระองค์ ตามสิ่งสารพัดที่หูของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้ยินมา

²²Therefore you are great, Yahweh God. For there is none like you, neither is there any God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

²³ประชาชนในโลกนี้จะเหมือนอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ ซึ่งพระเจ้าเสด็จไปทรงไถ่มาให้เป็นประชาชนของพระองค์ กระทำให้พระนามของพระองค์มีเกียรติ และทรงกระทำสิ่งที่ใหญ่เพื่อเจ้าทั้งหลาย และทรงกระทำสิ่งน่าสพึงกลัวเพื่อแผ่นดินของพระองค์ ต่อหน้าประชาชนของพระองค์ คือชนชาติซึ่งพระองค์ทรงไถ่ออกจากอียิปต์เพื่อพระองค์ จากบรรดาประชาชาติ และบรรดาพระของเขา

²³What one nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem to himself for a people, and to make himself a name, and to do great things for you, and awesome things for your land, before your people, whom you redeem to yourself out of Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

²⁴ด้วยว่าพระองค์ทรงสถาปนาอิสราเอลประชาชนของพระองค์ไว้ให้เป็นประชาชนเพื่อพระองค์เองเป็นนิตย์ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ พระองค์ก็ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าของเขาทั้งหลาย

²⁴You established for yourself your people Israel to be a people to you forever; and you, Yahweh, became their God.

²⁵ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้า บัดนี้พระวาทะซึ่งพระองค์ทรงลั่นออกมาเกี่ยวกับผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และเกี่ยวกับราชวงศ์ของเขา ขอทรงดำรงซึ่งพระวาทะนั้นให้ถาวรเป็นนิตย์ และทรงกระทำดังที่พระองค์ทรงลั่นพระวาจาไว้

²⁵Now, Yahweh God, the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, confirm it forever, and do as you have spoken.

²⁶ขอพระนามของพระองค์เป็นที่สรรเสริญอยู่เป็นนิตย์ว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาทรงเป็นพระเจ้าเหนืออิสราเอล' และราชวงศ์ดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์จะดำรงอยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์

²⁶Let your name be magnified forever, saying, ‘Yahweh of Armies is God over Israel; and the house of your servant David shall be established before you.’

²⁷ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาพระเจ้าของอิสราเอล เพราะว่าพระองค์ได้ทรงสำแดงแก่ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ว่า `เราจะสร้างราชวงศ์ให้เจ้า' เพราะฉะนั้นผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์จึงกล้าหาญที่จะวิงวอนด้วยคำอธิษฐานนี้ต่อพระองค์

²⁷For you, Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house.’ Therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray this prayer to you.

²⁸ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า บัดนี้พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระเจ้า และบรรดาพระวาทะของพระองค์เป็นความจริง และพระองค์ทรงสัญญาจะพระราชทานสิ่งดีนี้แก่ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์

²⁸“Now, O Lord Yahweh, you are God, and your words are truth, and you have promised this good thing to your servant.

²⁹เพราะฉะนั้น บัดนี้ขอโปรดให้เป็นที่พอพระทัยพระองค์ที่จะอำนวยพระพรแก่ราชวงศ์ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ เพื่อให้ดำรงอยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์เป็นนิตย์ ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า พระองค์ทรงลั่นพระวาจาเช่นนั้นแล้ว และด้วยพระพรของพระองค์ก็ขอให้ราชวงศ์ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ได้อยู่เย็นเป็นสุขเป็นนิตย์"

²⁹Now therefore let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you; for you, Lord Yahweh, have spoken it. Let the house of your servant be blessed forever with your blessing.”
