¹ครั้นการวุ่นวายนั้นสงบแล้ว เปาโลจึงให้ไปตามพวกสาวกมากอดกันแล้วก็ลาเขาไปยังแคว้นมาซิโดเนีย

¹After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, took leave of them, and departed to go into Macedonia.

²เมื่อได้ข้ามที่นั้นไปแล้วและได้สั่งเตือนสติเขามาก ท่านก็มายังประเทศกรีก

²When he had gone through those parts, and had encouraged them with many words, he came into Greece.

³พักอยู่ที่นั่นสามเดือน และเมื่อท่านจวนจะลงเรือไปยังแคว้นซีเรีย พวกยิวก็คิดร้ายต่อท่าน ท่านจึงตั้งใจกลับไปทางแคว้นมาซิโดเนีย

³When he had spent three months there, and a plot was made against him by Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he determined to return through Macedonia.

⁴คนที่ไปยังแคว้นเอเชียกับเปาโลคือโสปาเทอร์ชาวเมืองเบโรอา อาริสทารคัสกับเสคุนดัสชาวเมืองเธสะโลนิกา กายอัสชาวเมืองเดอร์บี และทิโมธี ทีคิกัสกับโตรฟีมัสชาวแคว้นเอเชีย

⁴These accompanied him as far as Asia: Sopater of Beroea; Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians; Gaius of Derbe; Timothy; and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia.

⁵แต่คนเหล่านั้นได้เดินทางล่วงหน้าไปคอยพวกเราอยู่ที่เมืองโตรอัสก่อน

⁵But these had gone ahead, and were waiting for us at Troas.

⁶ครั้นวันเทศกาลขนมปังไร้เชื้อล่วงไปแล้ว เราทั้งหลายจึงลงเรือออกจากเมืองฟีลิปปี และต่อมาห้าวันก็มาถึงพวกนั้นที่เมืองโตรอัส และยับยั้งอยู่ที่นั่นเจ็ดวัน

⁶We sailed away from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and came to them at Troas in five days, where we stayed seven days.

⁷ในวันต้นสัปดาห์เมื่อพวกสาวกประชุมกันทำพิธีหักขนมปัง เปาโลก็กล่าวสั่งสอนเขา เพราะว่าวันรุ่งขึ้นจะลาไปจากเขาแล้ว ท่านได้กล่าวยืดยาวไปจนเที่ยงคืน

⁷On the first day of the week, when the disciples were gathered together to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the next day, and continued his speech until midnight.

⁸มีตะเกียงหลายดวงในห้องชั้นบนที่เขาประชุมกันนั้น

⁸There were many lights in the upper room where we TR reads “they” instead of “we” were gathered together.

⁹ชายหนุ่มคนหนึ่งชื่อยุทิกัสนั่งอยู่ที่หน้าต่างง่วงนอนเต็มที และเมื่อเปาโลสั่งสอนช้านานไปอีก คนนั้นก็โงกพลัดตกจากหน้าต่างชั้นที่สาม เมื่อยกขึ้นก็เห็นว่าตายเสียแล้ว

⁹A certain young man named Eutychus sat in the window, weighed down with deep sleep. As Paul spoke still longer, being weighed down by his sleep, he fell down from the third story, and was taken up dead.

¹⁰ฝ่ายเปาโลจึงลงไป ก้มตัวกอดผู้นั้นไว้ แล้วว่า "อย่าตกใจเลย ด้วยว่าชีวิตยังอยู่ในตัวเขา"

¹⁰Paul went down, and fell upon him, and embracing him said, “Don’t be troubled, for his life is in him.”

¹¹ครั้นเปาโลขึ้นไปห้องชั้นบนหักขนมปังและรับประทานแล้ว ก็สนทนาต่อไปอีกช้านานจนสว่าง ท่านก็ลาเขาไป

¹¹When he had gone up, and had broken bread, and eaten, and had talked with them a long while, even until break of day, he departed.

¹²คนทั้งหลายจึงพาคนหนุ่มผู้ยังเป็นอยู่ไป และก็ปลื้มใจยินดีไม่น้อยเลย

¹²They brought the boy in alive, and were greatly comforted.

¹³ฝ่ายพวกเราก็ลงเรือแล่นไปยังเมืองอัสโสสก่อน ตั้งใจว่าจะรับเปาโลที่นั่น ด้วยท่านสั่งไว้อย่างนั้น เพราะท่านหมายว่าจะไปทางบก

¹³But we who went ahead to the ship set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul aboard there, for he had so arranged, intending himself to go by land.

¹⁴ครั้นท่านพบกับเราที่เมืองอัสโสส เราก็รับท่าน แล้วมายังเมืองมิทิเลนี

¹⁴When he met us at Assos, we took him aboard, and came to Mitylene.

¹⁵ครั้นแล่นเรือออกจากที่นั่นได้วันหนึ่งก็มายังที่ตรงข้ามเกาะคิโอส วันที่สองก็มาถึงเกาะสามอส และหยุดพักที่โตรกิเลียม และอีกวันหนึ่งก็มาถึงเมืองมิเลทัส

¹⁵Sailing from there, we came the following day opposite Chios. The next day we touched at Samos and stayed at Trogyllium, and the day after we came to Miletus.

¹⁶ด้วยว่าเปาโลได้ตั้งใจว่า จะแล่นเลยเมืองเอเฟซัสไป เพื่อจะไม่ต้องค้างอยู่นานในแคว้นเอเชีย เพราะท่านรีบให้ถึงกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ถ้าเป็นได้ให้ทันวันเทศกาลเพ็นเทคศเต

¹⁶For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

¹⁷เปาโลจึงใช้คนจากเมืองมิเลทัสไปยังเมืองเอเฟซัส ให้เชิญพวกผู้ปกครองในคริสตจักรนั้นมา

¹⁷From Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called to himself the elders of the assembly.

¹⁸ครั้นเขาทั้งหลายมาถึงเปาโลแล้ว เปาโลจึงกล่าวแก่เขาว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายย่อมทราบอยู่เองว่า ข้าพเจ้าได้ประพฤติต่อท่านอย่างไรทุกเวลา ตั้งแต่วันแรกที่ข้าพเจ้าเข้ามาในแคว้นเอเชีย

¹⁸When they had come to him, he said to them, “You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time,

¹⁹ข้าพเจ้าได้ปรนนิบัติองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าด้วยความถ่อมใจ ด้วยน้ำตาไหลเป็นอันมาก และด้วยการถูกทดลอง ซึ่งมาถึงข้าพเจ้าเพราะพวกยิวคิดร้ายต่อข้าพเจ้า

¹⁹serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

²⁰และสิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใดซึ่งเป็นคุณประโยชน์แก่ท่านทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้ามิได้ปิดซ่อนไว้ แต่ได้ชี้แจงให้ท่านเห็นกับได้สั่งสอนท่านต่อหน้าคนทั้งปวงและตามบ้านเรือน

²⁰how I didn’t shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, teaching you publicly and from house to house,

²¹ทั้งเป็นพยานแก่พวกยิวและพวกกรีก ถึงเรื่องการกลับใจใหม่เฉพาะพระเจ้า และความเชื่อในพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา

²¹testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus. TR adds “Christ”

²²ดูเถิด บัดนี้พระวิญญาณพันผูกข้าพเจ้า จึงจำเป็นจะต้องไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ไม่ทราบว่าจะมีอะไรเกิดขึ้นกับข้าพเจ้าที่นั่นบ้าง

²²Now, behold, I go bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there;

²³เว้นไว้แต่พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ทรงเป็นพยานในทุกบ้านทุกเมืองว่า เครื่องจำจองและความยากลำบากคอยท่าข้าพเจ้าอยู่

²³except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions wait for me.

²⁴แต่สิ่งเหล่านี้ไม่ได้เปลี่ยนแปลงข้าพเจ้าเลย ข้าพเจ้ามิได้ถือว่าชีวิตของข้าพเจ้าเป็นสิ่งประเสริฐแก่ข้าพเจ้า แต่ในชีวิตของข้าพเจ้าขอทำหน้าที่ให้สำเร็จด้วยความปิติยินดี และทำการปรนนิบัติที่ได้รับมอบหมายจากพระเยซูเจ้า คือที่จะเป็นพยานถึงข่าวประเสริฐแห่งพระคุณของพระเจ้านั้น

²⁴But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.

²⁵ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าเที่ยวป่าวประกาศอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าในหมู่พวกท่าน บัดนี้ ข้าพเจ้าทราบอยู่ว่าท่านทั้งหลายจะไม่เห็นหน้าข้าพเจ้าอีก

²⁵“Now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I went about preaching the Kingdom of God, will see my face no more.

²⁶เหตุฉะนั้น วันนี้ข้าพเจ้ายืนยันต่อท่านทั้งหลายว่า ข้าพเจ้าหมดราคีจากโลหิตของทุกคน

²⁶Therefore I testify to you this day that I am clean from the blood of all men,

²⁷เพราะว่า ข้าพเจ้ามิได้ย่อท้อในการกล่าวเรื่องพระดำริของพระเจ้าทั้งสิ้น ให้ท่านทั้งหลายฟัง

²⁷for I didn’t shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

²⁸เพราะฉะนั้นท่านทั้งหลายจงระวังตัวให้ดี และจงรักษาฝูงแกะที่พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ได้ทรงตั้งท่านไว้ให้เป็นผู้ดูแล และเพื่อจะได้บำรุงเลี้ยงคริสตจักรของพระเจ้า ที่พระองค์ทรงไถ่ด้วยพระโลหิตของพระองค์เอง

²⁸Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and TR, NU omit “the Lord and” God which he purchased with his own blood.

²⁹ข้าพเจ้าทราบอยู่ว่า เมื่อข้าพเจ้าไปแล้ว จะมีสุนัขป่าอันร้ายเข้ามาในหมู่พวกท่าน และจะไม่ละเว้นฝูงแกะไว้เลย

²⁹For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

³⁰จะมีบางคนในหมู่พวกท่านเองขึ้นกล่าวบิดเบือนความจริง เพื่อจะชักชวนพวกสาวกให้หลงตามเขาไป

³⁰Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

³¹เหตุฉะนั้นจงตื่นตัวอยู่และจำไว้ว่า ข้าพเจ้าได้สั่งสอนเตือนสติท่านทุกคนด้วยน้ำตาไหล ทั้งกลางวันกลางคืนตลอดสามปีมิได้หยุดหย่อน

³¹Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.

³²พี่น้องทั้งหลาย บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้าฝากท่านไว้กับพระเจ้าและกับพระคำแห่งพระคุณของพระองค์ ซึ่งมีฤทธิ์ก่อสร้างท่านขึ้นได้ และให้ท่านมีมรดกด้วยกันกับบรรดาผู้ที่ทรงแยกตั้งไว้

³²Now, brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” I entrust you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build up, and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

³³ข้าพเจ้ามิได้โลภเงินหรือทองหรือเสื้อผ้าของผู้ใด

³³I coveted no one’s silver, or gold, or clothing.

³⁴แล้วท่านทั้งหลายทราบว่า มือของข้าพเจ้าเองนี้ ได้จัดหาสิ่งที่จำเป็นสำหรับตัวข้าพเจ้ากับคนที่อยู่กับข้าพเจ้า

³⁴You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.

³⁵ข้าพเจ้าได้วางแบบอย่างไว้ให้ท่านทุกอย่างแล้ว ให้เห็นว่าโดยทำงานเช่นนี้ควรจะช่วยคนที่มีกำลังน้อย และให้ระลึกถึงพระวจนะของพระเยซูเจ้า ซึ่งพระองค์ตรัสว่า `การให้เป็นเหตุให้มีความสุขยิ่งกว่าการรับ'"

³⁵In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

³⁶ครั้นเปาโลกล่าวอย่างนั้นแล้วจึงคุกเข่าลงอธิษฐานกับคนเหล่านั้น

³⁶When he had spoken these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.

³⁷เขาทั้งหลายจึงร้องไห้มากมาย และกอดคอของเปาโล จุบท่าน

³⁷They all wept a lot, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him,

³⁸เขาเป็นทุกข์มากที่สุดเพราะเหตุถ้อยคำที่ท่านกล่าวว่า เขาจะไม่เห็นหน้าท่านอีก แล้วเขาก็พาท่านไปส่งที่เรือ

³⁸sorrowing most of all because of the word which he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.
