¹ขณะที่เปโตรกับยอห์นยังกล่าวแก่คนทั้งปวงอยู่ ปุโรหิตทั้งหลายกับนายทหารรักษาพระวิหารและพวกสะดูสีมาหาท่านทั้งสอง

¹As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,

²ด้วยเขาเป็นทุกข์ร้อนใจ เพราะท่านทั้งสองได้สั่งสอน และประกาศแก่คนทั้งหลายถึงเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นมาจากความตาย โดยทางพระเยซู

²being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

³เขาจึงจับท่านทั้งสองจำไว้ในคุกจนวันรุ่งขึ้น เพราะว่าเย็นแล้ว

³They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.

⁴แต่คนเป็นอันมากที่ได้ฟังคำสอนนั้นก็เชื่อ ซึ่งนับแต่ผู้ชายได้ประมาณห้าพันคน

⁴But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

⁵ต่อมาครั้นรุ่งขึ้นพวกครอบครองกับพวกผู้ใหญ่และพวกธรรมาจารย์

⁵It happened in the morning, that their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.

⁶ทั้งอันนาสมหาปุโรหิต และคายาฟาส ยอห์น อเล็กซานเดอร์ กับคนอื่นๆที่เป็นญาติของมหาปุโรหิตนั้นด้วย ได้ประชุมกันในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

⁶Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.

⁷เมื่อเขาให้เปโตรและยอห์นยืนอยู่ท่ามกลางพวกเขาแล้วจึงถามว่า "ท่านทั้งสองได้ทำการนี้โดยฤทธิ์หรือในนามของผู้ใด"

⁷When they had stood them in the middle of them, they inquired, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”

⁸ขณะนั้นเปโตรประกอบด้วยพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์กล่าวแก่เขาว่า "ท่านผู้ครอบครองพลเมืองและพวกผู้ใหญ่ทั้งหลายของอิสราเอล

⁸Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

⁹ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายจะถามพวกเราในวันนี้ถึงการดีซึ่งได้ทำแก่คนป่วยนี้ว่า เขาหายเป็นปกติด้วยเหตุอันใดแล้ว

⁹if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,

¹⁰ก็ให้ท่านทั้งหลายกับบรรดาชนอิสราเอลทราบเถิดว่า โดยพระนามของพระเยซูคริสต์ชาวนาซาเร็ธ ซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายได้ตรึงไว้ที่กางเขน และซึ่งพระเจ้าได้ทรงโปรดให้คืนพระชนม์ โดยพระองค์นั้นแหละชายคนนี้ได้หายโรคเป็นปกติแล้วจึงยืนอยู่ต่อหน้าท่าน

¹⁰be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole.

¹¹พระองค์เป็น `ศิลา' ที่ท่านทั้งหลายผู้เป็น `ช่างก่อได้ปฏิเสธเสีย ได้กลับกลายเป็นศิลามุมเอกแล้ว'

¹¹He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’ Psalm 118:22

¹²ในผู้อื่นความรอดไม่มีเลย ด้วยว่านามอื่นซึ่งให้เราทั้งหลายรอดได้ ไม่ทรงโปรดให้มีในท่ามกลางมนุษย์ทั่วใต้ฟ้า"

¹²There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”

¹³เมื่อเขาเห็นความกล้าหาญของเปโตรกับยอห์น และรู้ว่าท่านทั้งสองขาดการศึกษาและเป็นคนมีความรู้น้อยก็ประหลาดใจ แล้วสำนึกว่าคนทั้งสองเคยอยู่กับพระเยซู

¹³Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus.

¹⁴เมื่อเขาเห็นคนนั้นที่หายโรคยืนอยู่กับเปโตรและยอห์น เขาก็ไม่มีข้อคัดค้านที่จะพูดขึ้นได้

¹⁴Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

¹⁵แต่เมื่อเขาสั่งให้เปโตรและยอห์นออกไปจากที่ประชุมสภาแล้ว เขาจึงปรึกษากัน

¹⁵But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,

¹⁶ว่า "เราจะทำอย่างไรกับคนทั้งสองนี้ เพราะการที่เขาได้กระทำการอัศจรรย์อันเด่น ก็ได้ปรากฏแก่คนทั้งปวงที่อยู่ในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มแล้ว และเราปฏิเสธไม่ได้

¹⁶saying, “What shall we do to these men? Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we can’t deny it.

¹⁷แต่ให้เราขู่เขาอย่างแข็งแรงห้ามไม่ให้พูดอ้างชื่อนั้นกับผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดเลย เพื่อเรื่องนี้จะไม่ได้เลื่องลือแพร่หลายไปในหมู่คนทั้งปวง"

¹⁷But so that this spreads no further among the people, let’s threaten them, that from now on they don’t speak to anyone in this name.”

¹⁸เขาจึงเรียกเปโตรและยอห์นมา แล้วห้ามปรามเด็ดขาดไม่ให้พูดหรือสอนออกพระนามของพระเยซูอีกเลย

¹⁸They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

¹⁹ฝ่ายเปโตรและยอห์นตอบเขาว่า "การที่จะฟังท่านมากกว่าฟังพระเจ้าจะเป็นการถูกต้องในสายพระเนตรของพระเจ้าหรือ ขอท่านทั้งหลายพิจารณาดูเถิด

¹⁹But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,

²⁰ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าจะไม่พูดตามที่เห็นและได้ยินนั้นก็ไม่ได้"

²⁰for we can’t help telling the things which we saw and heard.”

²¹เมื่อเขาขู่สำทับท่านทั้งสองนั้นอีกแล้วก็ปล่อยไป ไม่เห็นมีเหตุที่จะทำโทษท่านอย่างไรได้เพราะกลัวคนเหล่านั้น เหตุว่าคนทั้งหลายได้สรรเสริญพระเจ้าเนื่องด้วยเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นนั้น

²¹When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.

²²ด้วยว่าคนที่หายโรคโดยการอัศจรรย์นั้น มีอายุกว่าสี่สิบปีแล้ว

²²For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.

²³เมื่อเขาปล่อยท่านทั้งสองแล้ว ท่านจึงไปหาพวกของท่าน เล่าเรื่องทั้งสิ้นที่พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่และพวกผู้ใหญ่ได้ว่าแก่ท่าน

²³Being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.

²⁴เมื่อเขาทั้งหลายได้ฟังจึงพร้อมใจกันเปล่งเสียงทูลพระเจ้าว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ผู้เป็นพระเจ้าซึ่งได้ทรงสร้างฟ้าสวรรค์ แผ่นดินโลก ทะเล และสรรพสิ่งที่มีอยู่ในที่เหล่านั้น

²⁴When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, “O Lord, you are God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;

²⁵พระองค์ตรัสไว้ด้วยปากของดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ว่า `เหตุใดชนต่างชาติจึงกระทำโกลาหลขึ้น และชนชาติทั้งหลายคิดอ่านในการที่ไร้ประโยชน์

²⁵who by the mouth of your servant, David, said, ‘Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?

²⁶บรรดากษัตริย์แห่งแผ่นดินโลกตั้งตนเองขึ้น และนักปกครองชุมนุมกันต่อสู้องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าและพระคริสต์ของพระองค์'

²⁶The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take council together, against the Lord, and against his Christ Christ (Greek) and Messiah (Hebrew) both mean Anointed One. .’ Psalm 2:1-2

²⁷ความจริงทั้งเฮโรดและปอนทัสปีลาต กับพวกต่างประเทศ และชนชาติอิสราเอลได้ชุมนุมกันต่อสู้พระเยซูพระบุตรผู้บริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์ ซึ่งทรงเจิมไว้แล้ว

²⁷“For truly, in this city against your holy servant, Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together

²⁸ให้กระทำสิ่งสารพัดตามที่พระหัตถ์ และพระดำริของพระองค์ได้กำหนดตั้งแต่ก่อนมาแล้วให้เกิดขึ้น

²⁸to do whatever your hand and your council foreordained to happen.

²⁹บัดนี้พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอโปรดทอดพระเนตรการขู่ของเขา และโปรดประทานให้ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์กล่าวถ้อยคำของพระองค์ด้วยใจกล้า

²⁹Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,

³⁰เมื่อพระองค์ได้ทรงเหยียดพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ออกรักษาโรคให้หาย และได้โปรดให้หมายสำคัญกับการมหัศจรรย์บังเกิดขึ้น โดยพระนามแห่งพระเยซูพระบุตรผู้บริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์"

³⁰while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus.”

³¹When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

³²คนทั้งปวงที่เชื่อนั้นเป็นน้ำหนึ่งใจเดียวกัน และไม่มีใครอ้างว่าสิ่งของที่ตนมีอยู่เป็นของตน แต่ทั้งหมดเป็นของกลาง

³²The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

³³อัครสาวกจึงเป็นพยานด้วยฤทธิ์เดชใหญ่ยิ่งถึงการคืนพระชนม์ของพระเยซูเจ้า และพระคุณอันใหญ่ยิ่งได้อยู่กับเขาทุกคน

³³With great power, the apostles gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all.

³⁴และในพวกศิษย์ไม่มีผู้ใดขัดสน เพราะผู้ใดมีไร่นาบ้านเรือนก็ขายเสีย และได้นำเงินค่าของที่ขายได้นั้นมา

³⁴For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,

³⁵วางไว้ที่เท้าของอัครสาวก อัครสาวกจึงแจกจ่ายให้ทุกคนตามที่ต้องการ

³⁵and laid them at the apostles’ feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.

³⁶ฝ่ายโยเสส ที่อัครสาวกเรียกว่า บารนาบัส (แปลว่าลูกแห่งการหนุนน้ำใจ) เป็นพวกเลวี ชาวเกาะไซปรัส

³⁶Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of Encouragement), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race,

³⁷มีที่ดินก็ขายเสียและนำเงินค่าที่นั้นมาวางไว้ที่เท้าของอัครสาวก

³⁷having a field, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
