¹ในปีที่สามแห่งรัชกาลกษัตริย์เบลชัสซาร์ มีนิมิตปรากฏแก่ข้าพเจ้าดาเนียล หลังจากนิมิตที่ปรากฏแก่ข้าพเจ้าครั้งแรกนั้น

¹In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, even to me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.

²และข้าพเจ้าเห็นเป็นนิมิต ต่อมาขณะที่ข้าพเจ้าอยู่ที่สุสาปราสาท ซึ่งอยู่ในแขวงเมืองเอลาม และข้าพเจ้าก็เห็นเป็นนิมิต และข้าพเจ้าอยู่ริมแม่น้ำอุลัย

²I saw in the vision; now it was so, that when I saw, I was in the citadel of Susa, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in the vision, and I was by the river Ulai.

³ข้าพเจ้าเงยหน้าขึ้นเห็น และดูเถิด แกะผู้ตัวหนึ่งยืนอยู่ที่ฝั่งแม่น้ำ มีเขาสองเขา เขาทั้งสองสูง แต่เขาหนึ่งสูงกว่าอีกเขาหนึ่ง และเขาที่สูงนั้นงอกมาทีหลัง

³Then I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

⁴ข้าพเจ้าเห็นแกะผู้นั้นขวิดไปทางตะวันตก และทางเหนือและทางใต้ ไม่มีสัตว์ตัวใดต้านทานมันได้ และไม่มีใครที่จะช่วยให้พ้นจากมือของมันได้ มันทำตามชอบใจของมันและก็พองตัวขึ้น

⁴I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; and no animals could stand before him, neither was there any who could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and magnified himself.

⁵เมื่อข้าพเจ้ากำลังตรึกตรองอยู่ ดูเถิด มีแพะผู้ตัวหนึ่งมาจากทิศตะวันตก เหาะข้ามพื้นพิภพทั้งสิ้นมา ไม่แตะต้องพื้นดินเลย และแพะนั้นมีเขาเด่นอยู่ในระหว่างตาของมันเขาหนึ่ง

⁵As I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west over the surface of the whole earth, and didn’t touch the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

⁶มันมาหาแกะผู้ที่มีเขาสองเขาซึ่งข้าพเจ้าเห็นยืนอยู่ที่ฝั่งแม่น้ำ มันวิ่งเข้าใส่แกะผู้ตัวนั้นด้วยเต็มกำลังความโกรธของมัน

⁶He came to the ram that had the two horns, which I saw standing before the river, and ran on him in the fury of his power.

⁷ข้าพเจ้าเห็นมันเข้ามาใกล้แกะผู้ มันโกรธและเข้าชนแกะผู้ ทำให้เขาทั้งสองของมันหักไป และแกะผู้ก็ไม่มีกำลังต้านทานมันได้ มันเหวี่ยงแกะผู้ลงที่ดินและเหยียบเสีย และไม่มีใครช่วยแกะผู้ให้พ้นมือของมันได้

⁷I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and struck the ram, and broke his two horns; and there was no power in the ram to stand before him; but he cast him down to the ground, and trampled on him; and there was none who could deliver the ram out of his hand.

⁸แล้วแพะผู้ก็พองตัวขึ้นอย่างยิ่ง แต่เมื่อมันแข็งแรง เขาใหญ่ของมันก็หัก มีเขาเด่นอีกสี่เขางอกขึ้นแทนที่ หันไปทางทิศลมทั้งสี่ของฟ้าสวรรค์

⁸The male goat magnified himself exceedingly: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and instead of it there came up four notable horns toward the four winds of the sky.

⁹และมีเขาเล็กๆเขาหนึ่งงอกออกมาจากเขาหนึ่งในพวกเขาเหล่านี้ ซึ่งงอกขึ้นใหญ่โตเหลือเกิน ตรงไปทางใต้ ตรงไปทางตะวันออก และตรงไปยังแผ่นดินอันรุ่งโรจน์นั้น

⁹Out of one of them came forth a little horn, which grew exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the glorious land .

¹⁰มันงอกขึ้นใหญ่โต แม้กระทั่งถึงบริวารแห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ มันยังเหวี่ยงบริวารกับดวงดาวลงมายังพิภพเสียบ้าง แล้วเหยียบย่ำเสีย

¹⁰It grew great, even to the army of the sky; and some of the army and of the stars it cast down to the ground, and trampled on them.

¹¹มันพองตัวขึ้นอีก แม้กระทั่งถึงจอมของบริวาร และเครื่องเผาบูชาประจำวันก็ถูกชิงไปเสีย และสถานบริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์ก็ถูกเหวี่ยงลง

¹¹Yes, it magnified itself, even to the prince of the army; and it took away from him the continual burnt offering, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

¹²และเพราะเหตุการละเมิด เขาได้รับมอบบริวารไว้สู้กับการเผาบูชาประจำวัน และความจริงก็ถูกเหวี่ยงลงที่ดิน และเขานั้นก็ปฏิบัติงานและเจริญขึ้น

¹²The army was given over to it together with the continual burnt offering through disobedience; and it cast down truth to the ground, and it did its pleasure and prospered.

¹³แล้วข้าพเจ้าได้ยินวิสุทธิชนผู้หนึ่งพูดอยู่ วิสุทธิชนอีกผู้หนึ่งก็พูดกับวิสุทธิชนผู้ที่พูดอยู่นั้นว่า "นิมิตที่เกี่ยวข้องกับเครื่องเผาบูชาประจำวันนั้นจะอยู่อีกนานเท่าใด ทั้งเรื่องการละเมิดที่ทำให้เกิดการรกร้างว่างเปล่า เพื่อจะมอบทั้งสถานบริสุทธิ์และบริวารให้ถูกเหยียบย่ำลงใต้ฝ่าเท้า"

¹³Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who spoke, How long shall be the vision concerning the continual burnt offering, and the disobedience that makes desolate, to give both the sanctuary and the army to be trodden under foot?

¹⁴ท่านผู้นั้นตอบข้าพเจ้าว่า "อยู่นานสองพันสามร้อยวัน แล้วสถานบริสุทธิ์นั้นจะได้รับการชำระ"

¹⁴He said to me, To two thousand and three hundred evenings and mornings; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

¹⁵และอยู่มาเมื่อข้าพเจ้าดาเนียลได้เห็นนิมิตนั้นแล้ว ข้าพเจ้าก็พยายามเข้าใจ และดูเถิด มีเหมือนมนุษย์ยืนอยู่หน้าข้าพเจ้า

¹⁵It happened, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, that I sought to understand it; and behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

¹⁶และข้าพเจ้าได้ยินเสียงของชายผู้หนึ่งระหว่างฝั่งแม่น้ำอุลัย และเสียงนั้นร้องเรียกและกล่าวว่า "กาเบรียลเอ๋ย จงทำให้ชายผู้นี้เข้าใจในนิมิตนั้นเถิด"

¹⁶I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

¹⁷ดังนั้นท่านจึงมาใกล้ที่ที่ข้าพเจ้ายืนอยู่ และเมื่อท่านมาแล้ว ข้าพเจ้าก็ตกใจซบหน้าลงถึงดิน แต่ท่านกล่าวแก่ข้าพเจ้าว่า "โอ บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงเข้าใจเถิดว่า นิมิตนั้นเป็นเรื่องของกาลอวสาน"

¹⁷So he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was frightened, and fell on my face: but he said to me, Understand, son of man; for the vision belongs to the time of the end.

¹⁸เมื่อท่านกำลังพูดอยู่กับข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าก็สลบหน้าติดดินอยู่ แต่ท่านแตะต้องข้าพเจ้าให้ข้าพเจ้ายืนขึ้น

¹⁸Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face toward the ground; but he touched me, and set me upright.

¹⁹ท่านกล่าวว่า "ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าจะทำให้ท่านทราบถึงสิ่งซึ่งจะเกิดขึ้นในตอนปลายแห่งพระพิโรธ เพราะมันเกี่ยวข้องกับวารกำหนดแห่งอวสาน

¹⁹He said, Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the latter time of the indignation; for it belongs to the appointed time of the end.

²⁰เรื่องแกะผู้มีสองเขาที่ท่านเห็นนั้นคือ กษัตริย์ของคนมีเดียและคนเปอร์เซีย

²⁰The ram which you saw, that had the two horns, they are the kings of Media and Persia.

²¹และแพะผู้คือกษัตริย์ของกรีก และเขาใหญ่ระกว่างนัยน์ตา คือกษัตริย์องค์แรก

²¹The rough male goat is the king of Greece: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

²²ส่วนเขาที่หัก และมีอีกสี่เขางอกขึ้นแทนนั้น คืออาณาจักรสี่อาณาจักรจะเกิดขึ้นจากประชาชาตินั้น แต่ไม่มีอำนาจเหนือเขาแรกนั้น

²²As for that which was broken, in the place where four stood up, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not with his power.

²³และในตอนปลายแห่งรัชสมัยของพวกเขา เมื่อผู้ละเมิดทั้งหลายได้กระทำเต็มขนาดแล้ว จะมีกษัตริย์องค์หนึ่งพระพักตร์ดุร้าย และมีความเข้าใจในเรื่องปริศนาเกิดขึ้น

²³In the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king of fierce face, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

²⁴อำนาจของท่านจะใหญ่โตมาก แต่มิใช่โดยอำนาจของท่านเอง และท่านจะกระทำให้บังเกิดความพินาศอย่างน่ากลัว ท่านก็เจริญขึ้นและปฏิบัติงาน ท่านจะทำลายคนที่มีกำลังมากและประชาชนบริสุทธิ์

²⁴His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper and do his pleasure; and he shall destroy the mighty ones and the holy people.

²⁵ด้วยความฉลาดของท่าน ท่านจะกระทำให้การล่อลวงแพร่หลายขึ้นด้วยน้ำมือของท่าน ท่านจะพองตัวของท่านในใจของท่านเอง ท่านจะทำลายคนมากหลายโดยความสงบ แล้วจะลุกขึ้นต่อสู้กับจอมเจ้านาย แต่ท่านจะต้องถูกหักทำลาย ไม่ใช่ด้วยมือเลย

²⁵Through his policy he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and in their security shall he destroy many: he shall also stand up against the prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

²⁶นิมิตเรื่องเวลาเย็นและเวลาเช้าซึ่งบอกเล่านั้นเป็นความจริง แต่จงปิดบังนิมิตนั้นไว้เถอะ เพราะเป็นเรื่องของอีกหลายวันข้างหน้า"

²⁶The vision of the evenings and mornings which has been told is true: but seal up the vision; for it belongs to many days to come.

²⁷และข้าพเจ้าดาเนียลก็อ่อนเพลีย และนอนเจ็บอยู่หลายวัน แล้วข้าพเจ้าก็ลุกขึ้นไปปฏิบัติราชการของกษัตริย์ต่อไป แต่ข้าพเจ้าก็งงงันโดยนิมิตนั้น และไม่เข้าใจเรื่องราวเลย

²⁷I, Daniel, fainted, and was sick certain days; then I rose up, and did the king’s business: and I wondered at the vision, but none understood it.
