¹"ท่านทั้งหลายอย่านำวัวผู้หรือแกะที่มีตำหนิหรือความพิการใดๆเป็นเครื่องบูชาแด่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน เพราะเป็นสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนต่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน

¹You shall not sacrifice to Yahweh your God an ox, or a sheep, in which is a blemish, or anything evil; for that is an abomination to Yahweh your God.

²ภายในประตูเมืองใดๆของท่านทั้งหลายซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านประทานแก่ท่านนั้น ถ้าพบว่าในท่ามกลางพวกท่านมีชายหรือหญิงคนใดกระทำความชั่วในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน โดยละเมิดพันธสัญญาของพระองค์

²If there is found in the midst of you, within any of your gates which Yahweh your God gives you, man or woman, who does that which is evil in the sight of Yahweh your God, in transgressing his covenant,

³และไปปรนนิบัติพระอื่น และนมัสการพระเหล่านั้น หรือดวงอาทิตย์ ดวงจันทร์ หรืออันใดที่เป็นบริวารท้องฟ้า ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้ห้ามไว้

³and has gone and served other gods, and worshiped them, or the sun, or the moon, or any of the army of the sky, which I have not commanded;

⁴มีคนมาบอกท่านแล้วและท่านก็ได้ยิน และได้สอบถามอย่างขะมักเขม้น และดูเถิด ถ้าเป็นความจริงและเป็นเรื่องแน่นอนว่า สิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนนั้นมีคนกระทำกันในอิสราเอล

⁴and it be told you, and you have heard of it, then you shall inquire diligently; and behold, if it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is done in Israel,

⁵ท่านจงนำชายหรือหญิงผู้กระทำสิ่งที่ชั่วร้ายนั้นมาที่ประตูเมือง และท่านจงเอาหินขว้างชายหรือหญิงนั้นเสียให้ตาย

⁵then you shall bring forth that man or that woman, who has done this evil thing, to your gates, even the man or the woman; and you shall stone them to death with stones.

⁶ผู้ที่ถูกกล่าวโทษถึงตายนั้น ให้มีพยานสองหรือสามปากยืนยันว่าผู้นั้นมีความผิด จึงให้ปรับโทษถึงตายได้ อย่าลงโทษผู้ใดถึงตายด้วยพยานปากเดียว

⁶At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he who is to die be put to death; at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

⁷ผู้ที่เป็นพยานต้องลงมือก่อนในการทำโทษเขาถึงตาย ต่อไปคนทั้งปวงจึงร่วมมือด้วยกัน ทั้งนี้เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะกำจัดความชั่วเสียจากท่ามกลางท่าน

⁷The hand of the witnesses shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.

⁸ถ้าคดีใดเกิดขึ้นเป็นเรื่องยากที่จะตัดสินได้ว่า เป็นคดีฆ่าคนตายโดยเจตนาหรือไม่ เป็นคดีเกี่ยวด้วยการเกี่ยงกรรมสิทธิ์ในทรัพย์ เป็นคดีทำร้ายร่างกาย เป็นคดีใดๆซึ่งโต้แย้งกันภายในประตูเมืองของท่าน ท่านจงลุกขึ้นพากันไปยังสถานที่ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทรงเลือกไว้

⁸If there arises a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates; then you shall arise, and go up to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose;

⁹จงไปหาคนเลวีซึ่งเป็นปุโรหิต และไปหาผู้พิพากษาประจำการในสมัยนั้น ท่านจงปรึกษาหารือกับเขา และเขาจะชี้แจงให้ท่านทราบถึงคำตัดสิน

⁹and you shall come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge who shall be in those days: and you shall inquire; and they shall show you the sentence of judgment.

¹⁰แล้วท่านจงกระทำตามคำแนะนำซึ่งเขาชี้แจงแก่ท่าน จากสถานที่ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเลือกนั้น และท่านจงระวังกระทำตามทุกสิ่งซึ่งเขาแนะนำท่าน

¹⁰You shall do according to the tenor of the sentence which they shall show you from that place which Yahweh shall choose; and you shall observe to do according to all that they shall teach you:

¹¹ท่านจงกระทำตามคำแนะนำจากพระราชบัญญัติซึ่งเขาให้แก่ท่าน และกระทำตามคำตัดสินซึ่งเขาได้สั่งท่าน ท่านทั้งหลายอย่าหันเหไปจากคำตัดสินซึ่งเขาชี้แจงแก่ท่าน อย่าหันไปทางขวามือหรือซ้ายมือ

¹¹according to the tenor of the law which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do; you shall not turn aside from the sentence which they shall show you, to the right hand, nor to the left.

¹²ผู้ใดที่บังอาจมิได้กระทำตาม คือไม่ได้เชื่อฟังปุโรหิตผู้ที่ยืนปรนนิบัติต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านที่นั่น หรือเชื่อฟังผู้พิพากษา ผู้นั้นต้องตาย ทั้งนี้เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะกำจัดความชั่วเสียจากอิสราเอล

¹²The man who does presumptuously, in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before Yahweh your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die: and you shall put away the evil from Israel.

¹³และประชาชนทั้งหลายจะได้ยินและยำเกรง และมิได้ขัดขืนต่อไปอีก

¹³All the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

¹⁴เมื่อท่านมาถึงแผ่นดินที่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านประทานแก่ท่าน และท่านถือกรรมสิทธิ์อาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินนั้น แล้วท่านจะกล่าวว่า `เราจะตั้งกษัตริย์ไว้เหนือเราเหมือนประชาชาติอื่นซึ่งอยู่รอบเรา'

¹⁴When you have come to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and shall possess it, and shall dwell therein, and shall say, “I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me”;

¹⁵ก็จงตั้งผู้ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทรงเลือกไว้ให้เป็นกษัตริย์เหนือท่าน คือตั้งผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดในพวกพี่น้องของท่านให้เป็นกษัตริย์เหนือท่าน ท่านอย่าตั้งคนต่างด้าวซึ่งมิใช่พี่น้องของท่านให้อยู่เหนือท่าน

¹⁵you shall surely set him king over yourselves, whom Yahweh your God shall choose: one from among your brothers you shall set king over you; you may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.

¹⁶แต่ว่าอย่าให้ผู้นั้นมีม้าของตนเองมากเกินไป หรือเป็นเหตุให้ประชาชนกลับไปอียิปต์เพื่อจะมีม้ามากๆ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ตรัสกับท่านทั้งหลายแล้วว่า `เจ้าทั้งหลายจะไม่ได้กลับไปทางนั้นอีกเลย'

¹⁶Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; because Yahweh has said to you, “You shall not go back that way again.”

¹⁷และอย่าให้ผู้นั้นมีภรรยามาก เกรงว่าจิตใจของเขาจะหันเหไปเสีย หรืออย่าให้มีเงินมีทองเป็นของตนอย่างมากมาย

¹⁷Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart not turn away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

¹⁸เมื่อผู้นั้นนั่งบัลลังก์ในราชอาณาจักร ก็ให้ผู้นั้นคัดลอกพระราชบัญญัตินี้ไว้ในหนังสือเพื่อประโยชน์แก่ตนเอง จากหนังสือซึ่งอยู่ตรงหน้าพวกปุโรหิตที่เป็นคนเลวี

¹⁸It shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book, out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

¹⁹ให้พระราชบัญญัตินั้นอยู่กับผู้นั้น และให้เขาอ่านอยู่เสมอตลอดชีวิตของตน เพื่อเขาจะได้เรียนรู้ที่จะยำเกรงพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขา โดยรักษาบรรดาถ้อยคำในพระราชบัญญัตินี้และกฎเกณฑ์เหล่านี้และกระทำตาม

¹⁹and it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear Yahweh his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them;

²⁰เพื่อว่าจิตใจของเขาจะมิได้พองขึ้นสูงกว่าพี่น้องของตน และเพื่อเขาเองจะมิได้หันเหจากพระบัญญัติไปทางขวามือหรือทางซ้ายมือ เพื่อเขาจะได้ปกครองราชอาณาจักรของเขาอยู่ได้นาน ทั้งตนเองและลูกหลานของตนในอิสราเอล"

²⁰that his heart not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he not turn aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.
