¹พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าว่า

¹The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²"บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงยกปริศนาและกล่าวเป็นคำอุปมาแก่วงศ์วานอิสราเอล

²Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel;

³ว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า มีนกอินทรีมหึมาตัวหนึ่ง ปีกใหญ่และขนปีกก็ยาว มีขนมากมายหลายสี มายังเลบานอนและจิกยอดต้นสนสีดาร์

³and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: A great eagle with great wings and long feathers, full of feathers, which had various colors, came to Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar:

⁴มันหักยอดกิ่งอ่อนแล้วก็คาบไปยังแผ่นดินพาณิชย์ และวางไว้ในหัวเมืองของพ่อค้าทั้งหลาย

⁴he cropped off the topmost of the young twigs of it, and carried it to a land of traffic; he set it in a city of merchants.

⁵แล้วมันก็เอาเมล็ดพืชแห่งแผ่นดินไปปลูกไว้ในที่ดินอุดม มันเอาเมล็ดไว้ข้างน้ำมากหลาย ตั้งไว้อย่างกับกิ่งต้นไค้น้ำ

⁵He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful soil; he placed it beside many waters; he set it as a willow tree.

⁶เมล็ดก็งอกขึ้นมาและเติบโตขึ้นเป็นเถาองุ่นเตี้ย แผ่แขนงไพศาล แขนงทั้งหลายของต้นนี้ก็ทอดมายังตัวนกอินทรี และรากก็ยังคงอยู่ใต้มัน เมล็ดจึงบังเกิดเป็นเถา แตกแขนงสาขาและออกใบ

⁶It grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and its roots were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.

⁷แต่มีนกอินทรีตัวมหึมาอีกตัวหนึ่ง มีปีกใหญ่และมีขนมาก ดูเถิด องุ่นเถานั้นชอนรากมาหานกอินทรีตัวนี้ และแตกแขนงตรงมาที่มัน เพื่อให้มันรดน้ำให้จากร่องที่ปลูกอยู่นั้น

⁷There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and shot forth its branches toward him, from the beds of its plantation, that he might water it.

⁸นกได้ย้ายมันไปปลูกไว้ในที่ดินดีใกล้น้ำมากหลาย เพื่อให้แตกแขนงและบังเกิดผล และเป็นเถาองุ่นที่มีเกียรติ

⁸It was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.

⁹เจ้าจงกล่าวว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เถานั้นจะเจริญขึ้นได้หรือ นกนั้นจะไม่ถอนรากมันขึ้นและเด็ดผลเพื่อให้เถาเหี่ยวแห้งเสียหรือ เถานั้นก็จะเหี่ยวแห้งไปตรงใบอ่อนที่งอกขึ้นแล้ว โดยไม่ต้องอาศัยอำนาจอันยิ่งใหญ่หรือประชาชนเป็นอันมากเพื่อถอนเถาออกจากรากของมัน

⁹Say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up its roots, and cut off its fruit, that it may wither; that all its fresh springing leaves may wither? and not by a strong arm or many people can it be raised from its roots.

¹⁰ดูเถิด เมื่อมันย้ายไปปลูก เถานั้นก็งอกงามดีหรือ เมื่อลมทิศตะวันออกพัดถูกมันเข้า มันจะไม่เหี่ยวแห้งไปหรือ มันจะเหี่ยวแห้งไปถึงร่องที่มันเกิดมานั้นไม่ใช่หรือ"

¹⁰Yes, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind touches it? it shall wither in the beds where it grew.

¹¹พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าอีกว่า

¹¹Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹²"บัดนี้จงกล่าวแก่วงศ์วานที่มักกบฏนั้นว่า ท่านทั้งหลายไม่ทราบหรือว่า สิ่งเหล่านี้มีความหมายว่ากระไร จงบอกเขาว่า ดูเถิด กษัตริย์กรุงบาบิโลนได้มายังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และกวาดเอากษัตริย์และเจ้านายทั้งหลายพามายังกษัตริย์ที่กรุงบาบิโลน

¹²Say now to the rebellious house, Don’t you know what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took its king, and its princes, and brought them to him to Babylon:

¹³และพระองค์ได้ทรงเอาเชื้อพระวงศ์ผู้หนึ่งและทำพันธสัญญากับท่าน ผู้นั้นให้เขาปฏิญาณตัว คนสำคัญๆของแผ่นดิน พระองค์ได้กวาดต้อนเอาไป

¹³and he took of the seed royal, and made a covenant with him; he also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land;

¹⁴เพื่อว่าราชอาณาจักรนั้นจะต่ำต้อย ยกตัวขึ้นอีกไม่ได้ และในการที่รักษาพันธสัญญาของพระองค์จะคงยั่งยืนอยู่ได้

¹⁴that the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.

¹⁵แต่กษัตริย์ได้กบฏต่อพระองค์ โดยส่งราชทูตไปยังอียิปต์ ด้วยหวังว่าจะได้ม้าและกองทัพใหญ่โต กษัตริย์จะกระทำสำเร็จหรือ ผู้ที่กระทำเช่นนี้จะหนีไปรอดหรือ ถ้าท่านหักพันธสัญญายังจะรอดพ้นได้อีกหรือ

¹⁵But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape who does such things? shall he break the covenant, and yet escape?

¹⁶องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด ท่านจะต้องตายท่ามกลางบาบิโลน ในที่ที่กษัตริย์องค์นั้นประทับอยู่ คือกษัตริย์ผู้ได้ทรงตั้งท่านให้เป็นกษัตริย์ และท่านได้ดูหมิ่นคำปฏิญาณต่อพระองค์ และได้หักพันธสัญญาที่ทำไว้กับพระองค์

¹⁶As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.

¹⁷ฟาโรห์ประกอบด้วยกองทัพอันใหญ่โตและผู้คนมากมายจะไม่ช่วยท่านผู้นั้น ในการสงคราม ในเมื่อเขาก่อเชิงเทินและก่อกำแพงล้อมเพื่อจะขจัดคนเป็นอันมากเสีย

¹⁷Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts, to cut off many persons.

¹⁸เพราะเหตุท่านดูหมิ่นคำปฏิญาณและหักพันธสัญญา และดูเถิด เพราะท่านปฏิญาณตัวและยังกระทำสิ่งทั้งปวงเหล่านี้ ท่านจึงจะหนีไปให้พ้นไม่ได้

¹⁸For he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant; and behold, he had given his hand, and yet has done all these things; he shall not escape.

¹⁹เพราะฉะนั้นองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่ฉันใด เพราะคำปฏิญาณต่อเราที่เขาดูหมิ่นและพันธสัญญาของเราที่เขาหักเสีย เราจะตอบสนองให้ตกเหนือศีรษะของท่านผู้นั้น

¹⁹Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: As I live, surely my oath that he has despised, and my covenant that he has broken, I will even bring it on his own head.

²⁰เราจะกางข่ายของเราคลุมเขา และเขาจะติดกับของเรา และเราจะนำเขาเข้าไปในบาบิโลน และพิจารณาพิพากษาเขาที่นั่นในเรื่องการละเมิดที่เขาได้ละเมิดต่อเรา

²⁰I will spread my net on him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.

²¹และบรรดาผู้ลี้ภัยกับกองทัพทั้งสิ้นของเขานั้นจะล้มลงด้วยดาบ และผู้ที่เหลืออยู่จะกระจายไปตามลมทุกทิศานุทิศ และเจ้าจะรู้ว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ที่ได้ลั่นวาจาไว้แล้ว"

²¹All his fugitives in all his bands shall fall by the sword, and those who remain shall be scattered toward every wind: and you shall know that I, Yahweh, have spoken it.

²²องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า "เราเองจะเอาแขนงจากยอดสูงของต้นสนสีดาร์และปลูกไว้ เราจะหักกิ่งอ่อนของมันออกเสีย และเราเองจะปลูกมันไว้บนภูเขายอดสูง

²²Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will also take of the lofty top of the cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain:

²³เราจะปลูกมันไว้บนภูเขาสูงของอิสราเอล เพื่อจะแตกกิ่งและบังเกิดผล และเป็นต้นสนสีดาร์ที่มีเกียรติ และนกทุกชนิดจะมาอาศัยอยู่ใต้มัน นกทุกอย่างจะมาทำรังอยู่ที่ร่มกิ่งของมัน

²³in the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all birds of every wing; in the shade of its branches shall they dwell.

²⁴และต้นไม้ทุกต้นในทุ่งจะทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์กระทำต้นไม้สูงให้ต่ำลง และกระทำต้นไม้ต่ำให้สูงขึ้น ทำต้นไม้เขียวให้แห้งไป และทำต้นไม้แห้งให้งามสดชื่น เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ลั่นวาจาแล้ว เราได้กระทำเช่นนั้น"

²⁴All the trees of the field shall know that I, Yahweh, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I, Yahweh, have spoken and have done it.
