¹Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the archives, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.

²และได้มีการพบหนังสือม้วนหนึ่งที่อาคเมตาห์ในพระราชวังซึ่งอยู่ในมณฑลมีเดีย และมีข้อความเขียนอยู่ในหนังสือม้วนนั้นดังต่อไปนี้

²There was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of Media, a scroll, and therein was thus written for a record:

³"ในปีต้นแห่งรัชกาลกษัตริย์ไซรัส กษัตริย์ไซรัสทรงออกกฤษฎีกาว่า เรื่องพระนิเวศของพระเจ้าที่เยรูซาเล็มว่า `ให้สร้างพระนิเวศนั้นขึ้นใหม่ คือที่ซึ่งเขานำเครื่องสัตวบูชามาถวาย ให้ลงรากมั่นคง ให้พระนิเวศสูงหกสิบศอกและกว้างหกสิบศอก

³In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king made a decree: Concerning God’s house at Jerusalem, let the house be built, the place where they offer sacrifices, and let its foundations be strongly laid; its height sixty cubits, and its breadth sixty cubits;

⁴ให้ก่อด้วยหินใหญ่สามชั้นและไม้ใหม่ชั้นหนึ่ง และให้เสียเงินค่าก่อสร้างจากพระคลังหลวง

⁴with three courses of great stones, and a course of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king’s house.

⁵และเครื่องใช้ทองคำและเงินของพระนิเวศแห่งพระเจ้า ซึ่งเนบูคัดเนซาร์ทรงนำออกมาจากพระวิหารที่อยู่ในเยรูซาเล็มนำมาไว้ที่บาบิโลนนั้น ให้คืนเสียและให้นำกลับไปยังพระวิหารซึ่งอยู่ในเยรูซาเล็ม ไว้ตามที่ของสิ่งนั้นๆ ท่านจงเก็บไว้ในพระนิเวศแห่งพระเจ้า'

⁵Also let the gold and silver vessels of God’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought to Babylon, be restored, and brought again to the temple which is at Jerusalem, everyone to its place; and you shall put them in God’s house.

⁶เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ทัทเธนัยผู้ว่าราชการมณฑลฟากแม่น้ำข้างโน้น เชธาร์โบเซนัย และภาคีของท่าน คือคนอาฟอาร์เซคาซึ่งอยู่ในมณฑลฟากแม่น้ำข้างโน้น จงไปเสียให้ห่างเถิด

⁶Now therefore, Tattenai, governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and your companions the Apharsachites, who are beyond the River, you must stay far from there.

⁷จงให้งานสร้างพระนิเวศของพระเจ้าดำเนินไปเถิด ให้ผู้ว่าราชการของพวกยิว และบรรดาพวกผู้ใหญ่ของพวกยิวสร้างพระนิเวศของพระเจ้านี้ในที่เดิมขึ้นใหม่

⁷Leave the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.

⁸ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก เราออกกฤษฎีกาเกี่ยวกับสิ่งที่ท่านพึงกระทำเพื่อพวกผู้ใหญ่ของพวกยิวในการสร้างพระนิเวศของพระเจ้า ให้ชำระเงินค่าก่อสร้างแก่คนเหล่านี้เต็ม เพื่อพวกเขาไม่ถูกหยุดยั้ง เอาเงินจากราชทรัพย์ คือบรรณาการของมณฑลฟากแม่น้ำข้างโน้น

⁸Moreover I make a decree what you shall do to these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses be given with all diligence to these men, that they be not hindered.

⁹และสิ่งใดๆที่เขาต้องการ เช่น วัวหนุ่ม แกะผู้ หรือแกะสำหรับเครื่องเผาบูชาถวายแด่พระเจ้าแห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ ทั้งข้าวสาลี เกลือ น้ำองุ่น หรือน้ำมัน ตามที่ปุโรหิตเยรูซาเล็มกำหนดไว้ ให้มอบแก่เขาเป็นวันๆไปอย่าได้ขาด

⁹That which they have need of, both young bulls, and rams, and lambs, for burnt offerings to the God of heaven; also wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail;

¹⁰เพื่อเขาจะได้ถวายเครื่องสัตวบูชา อันเป็นกลิ่นที่พอพระทัยแด่พระเจ้าแห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ และให้อธิษฐานเพื่อชีวิตของกษัตริย์และโอรสของพระองค์

¹⁰that they may offer sacrifices of pleasant aroma to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.

¹¹และเราออกกฤษฎีกาว่า ถ้าผู้ใดเปลี่ยนแปลงประกาศิตนี้ ก็ให้ดึงไม้ใหญ่อันหนึ่งออกเสียจากเรือนของเขา และให้เขาถูกตรึงไว้บนไม้นั้น และให้เรือนของเขาเป็นกองขยะเพราะเรื่องนี้

¹¹Also I have made a decree, that whoever shall alter this word, let a beam be pulled out from his house, and let him be lifted up and fastened thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this:

¹²และขอพระเจ้าผู้ทรงกระทำให้พระนามของพระองค์สถิตที่นั่นทรงคว่ำกษัตริย์ทั้งหมดหรือประชาชาติใดๆ ที่ยื่นมือออกเปลี่ยนแปลงข้อนี้ คือเพื่อทำลายพระนิเวศของพระเจ้าซึ่งอยู่ในเยรูซาเล็ม ข้าพเจ้าดาริอัสออกกฤษฎีกานี้ ขอให้กระทำกันด้วยความขยันขันแข็ง"

¹²and the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow all kings and peoples who shall put forth their hand to alter the same, to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with all diligence.

¹³แล้วทัทเธนัยผู้ว่าราชการมณฑลฟากแม่น้ำข้างนี้ เชธาร์โบเซนัย และภาคีของท่านทั้งสองก็ได้กระทำทุกอย่างด้วยความขยันขันแข็งตามพระดำรัสซึ่งกษัตริย์ดาริอัสได้ทรงบัญชามา

¹³Then Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and their companions, because Darius the king had sent a decree, did accordingly with all diligence.

¹⁴และพวกผู้ใหญ่ของพวกยิวก็ได้ทำการก่อสร้างให้ก้าวหน้าไป ตามการพยากรณ์ของฮักกัยผู้พยากรณ์ และเศคาริยาห์บุตรชายอิดโด เขาสร้างเสร็จตามพระบัญชาแห่งพระเจ้าของอิสราเอล และตามกฤษฎีกาของไซรัสและดาริอัสและอารทาเซอร์ซีสกษัตริย์แห่งเปอร์เซีย

¹⁴The elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

¹⁵และพระนิเวศนี้ได้สำเร็จในวันที่สามของเดือนอาดาร์ ในปีที่หกแห่งรัชกาลกษัตริย์ดาริอัส

¹⁵This house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

¹⁶และชนชาติอิสราเอล บรรดาปุโรหิตและคนเลวี และลูกหลานของพวกที่ถูกกวาดไปเป็นเชลยที่เหลืออยู่ ได้ฉลองการมอบถวายพระนิเวศแห่งพระเจ้านี้ด้วยความชื่นบาน

¹⁶The children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.

¹⁷ณ การถวายพระนิเวศแห่งพระเจ้านี้ เขาทั้งหลายได้ถวายวัวผู้หนึ่งร้อยตัว แกะผู้สองร้อยตัว ลูกแกะสี่ร้อยตัว และส่วนเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาปสำหรับอิสราเอลทั้งปวงนั้นมีแพะผู้สิบสองตัว ตามจำนวนตระกูลของอิสราเอล

¹⁷They offered at the dedication of this house of God one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve male goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

¹⁸และเขาตั้งปุโรหิตไว้ในกองของเขาทั้งหลาย และคนเลวีในเวรของเขา สำหรับการปรนนิบัติพระเจ้าที่เยรูซาเล็ม ตามที่บันทึกไว้ในหนังสือของโมเสส

¹⁸They set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.

¹⁹The children of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

²⁰เพราะบรรดาปุโรหิตและคนเลวีได้ชำระตนทุกคน เขาบริสุทธิ์หมดด้วยกัน เขาจึงฆ่าแกะปัสกาสำหรับลูกหลานของพวกที่ถูกกวาดไปเป็นเชลยทั้งหมด สำหรับพวกพี่น้องที่เป็นปุโรหิต และสำหรับตัวเขาทั้งหลายเอง

²⁰For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were pure: and they killed the Passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brothers the priests, and for themselves.

²¹ประชาชนอิสราเอลผู้ได้กลับมาจากการถูกกวาดไปเป็นเชลย และทุกคนที่สมทบกับเขาและแยกตัวออกจากการมลทินของบรรดาประชาชาติแห่งแผ่นดินนั้น เพื่อจะแสวงหาพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลก็ได้รับประทาน

²¹The children of Israel who had come again out of the captivity, and all such as had separated themselves to them from the filthiness of the nations of the land, to seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, ate,

²²และเขาได้ถือเทศกาลกินขนมปังไร้เชื้อเจ็ดวันด้วยความชื่นบาน เพราะว่าพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงกระทำให้เขาชื่นบาน และทรงหันพระทัยของกษัตริย์อัสซีเรียมาหาเขา เพื่อเสริมกำลังมือของเขาในการสร้างพระนิเวศของพระเจ้า พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล

²²and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for Yahweh had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, to strengthen their hands in the work of God’s house, the God of Israel.
