¹โดยเหตุที่พระราชบัญญัตินั้นได้เป็นแต่เงาของสิ่งดีที่จะมาภายหน้า มิใช่ตัวจริงของสิ่งนั้นทีเดียว พระราชบัญญัตินั้นจะใช้เครื่องบูชาที่เขาถวายทุกปีๆเสมอมากระทำให้ผู้ถวายสักการบูชานั้นถึงที่สำเร็จไม่ได้

¹For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.

²เพราะถ้าเป็นเช่นนั้นได้ เขาคงได้หยุดการถวายเครื่องบูชาแล้วมิใช่หรือ เพราะถ้าผู้นมัสการนั้นได้รับการชำระให้บริสุทธิ์ครั้งหนึ่งแล้ว เขาคงจะไม่รู้สึกว่ามีบาปอีกต่อไป

²Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshippers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?

³แต่การถวายเครื่องบูชานั้นเป็นเหตุให้ระลึกถึงความบาปทุกปีๆ

³But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.

⁴เพราะเลือดวัวผู้และเลือดแพะไม่สามารถชำระความบาปได้

⁴For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.

⁵ดังนั้นเมื่อพระองค์เสด็จเข้ามาในโลกแล้ว พระองค์ได้ตรัสว่า `เครื่องสัตวบูชาและเครื่องบูชาพระองค์ไม่ทรงประสงค์ แต่พระองค์ได้ทรงจัดเตรียมกายสำหรับข้าพระองค์

⁵Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire, but you prepared a body for me;

⁶เครื่องเผาบูชาและเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาป พระองค์ไม่ทรงพอพระทัย

⁷แล้วข้าพระองค์ทูลว่า "ดูเถิด ข้าพระองค์มาแล้ว พระเจ้าข้า เพื่อจะกระทำตามน้ำพระทัยพระองค์" (ในหนังสือม้วนก็มีเขียนเรื่องข้าพระองค์)'

⁷Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’” Psalm 40:6-8

⁸เมื่อพระองค์ตรัสดังนี้แล้วว่า "เครื่องสัตวบูชาและเครื่องบูชาและเครื่องเผาบูชาและเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาป พระองค์ไม่ทรงประสงค์และไม่ทรงพอพระทัย" ซึ่งเขาได้บูชาตามพระราชบัญญัตินั้น

⁸Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law),

⁹แล้วพระองค์จึงตรัสว่า "ดูเถิด ข้าพระองค์มาแล้ว พระเจ้าข้า เพื่อจะกระทำตามน้ำพระทัยพระองค์" พระองค์ทรงยกเลิกระบบเดิมนั้นเสีย เพื่อจะทรงตั้งระบบใหม่

⁹then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,

¹⁰โดยน้ำพระทัยนั้นเองที่เราทั้งหลายได้รับการทรงชำระให้บริสุทธิ์ โดยการถวายพระกายของพระเยซูคริสต์เพียงครั้งเดียวเท่านั้น

¹⁰by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

¹¹ฝ่ายปุโรหิตทุกคนก็ยืนปฏิบัติอยู่ทุกวันๆและนำเอาเครื่องบูชาอย่างเดียวกันมาถวายเนืองๆ เครื่องบูชานั้นจะยกเอาความบาปไปเสียไม่ได้เลย

¹¹Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,

¹²ฝ่ายพระองค์นี้ ครั้นทรงถวายเครื่องบูชาเพราะความบาปเพียงหนเดียวซึ่งใช้ได้เป็นนิตย์ ก็เสด็จประทับเบื้องขวาพระหัตถ์ของพระเจ้า

¹²but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;

¹³ตั้งแต่นี้ไปพระองค์คอยอยู่จนถึงบรรดาศัตรูของพระองค์จะถูกปราบลงเป็นที่รองพระบาทของพระองค์

¹³from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.

¹⁴เพราะว่าโดยการทรงถวายบูชาหนเดียว พระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำให้คนทั้งหลายที่ถูกชำระแล้วถึงที่สำเร็จเป็นนิตย์

¹⁴For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

¹⁵และพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ก็ทรงเป็นพยานให้แก่เราด้วย เพราะว่าพระองค์ได้ตรัสไว้แล้วว่า

¹⁵The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,

¹⁶`"นี่คือพันธสัญญาซึ่งเราจะกระทำกับเขาทั้งหลายภายหลังสมัยนั้น" องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัส "เราจะบรรจุราชบัญญัติของเราไว้ในจิตใจของเขาทั้งหลาย และจะจารึกมันไว้ที่ในดวงใจของเขาทั้งหลาย

¹⁶“This is the covenant that I will make with them: ‘After those days,’ says the Lord, ‘I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;’” Jeremiah 31:33 then he says,

¹⁷และจะไม่จดจำบาปและความชั่วช้าของเขาอีกต่อไป"'

¹⁷“I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.” Jeremiah 31:34

¹⁸ดังนั้นเมื่อมีการลบบาปแล้วก็ไม่มีการถวายเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาปอีกต่อไป

¹⁸Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

¹⁹เหตุฉะนั้นพี่น้องทั้งหลาย เมื่อเรามีใจกล้าที่จะเข้าไปในที่บริสุทธิ์ที่สุดโดยพระโลหิตของพระเยซู

¹⁹Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,

²⁰ตามทางใหม่และเป็นทางที่มีชีวิต ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงเปิดออกสำหรับเราทั้งหลายโดยม่านนั้น คือเนื้อหนังของพระองค์

²⁰by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

²¹และครั้นเรามีมหาปุโรหิตสำหรับครอบครัวของพระเจ้าแล้ว

²¹and having a great priest over God’s house,

²²ก็ให้เราเข้ามาใกล้ด้วยใจจริง ด้วยความเชื่ออันเต็มเปี่ยม มีใจที่ถูกประพรมชำระพ้นจากการวินิจฉัยผิดและชอบที่ชั่วร้าย และมีกายล้างชำระด้วยน้ำอันใสบริสุทธิ์

²²let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,

²³ให้เรายึดมั่นในความเชื่อที่เราทั้งหลายรับไว้นั้น โดยไม่หวั่นไหว (เพราะว่าพระองค์ผู้ทรงประทานพระสัญญานั้นทรงสัตย์ซื่อ)

²³let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

²⁴และให้เราพิจารณาดูกันและกัน เพื่อเป็นเหตุให้มีความรักและกระทำการดี

²⁴Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,

²⁵ซึ่งเราเคยประชุมกันนั้นอย่าให้หยุด เหมือนอย่างบางคนเคยกระทำนั้น แต่จงเตือนสติกันและกัน และให้มากยิ่งขึ้นเมื่อท่านทั้งหลายเห็นวันเวลานั้นใกล้เข้ามาแล้ว

²⁵not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching.

²⁶เมื่อเราได้รับความรู้เรื่องความจริงแล้ว แต่เรายังขืนทำผิดอีก เครื่องบูชาไถ่บาปก็จะไม่มีเหลืออยู่เลย

²⁶For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,

²⁷แต่จะมีความหวาดกลัวในการรอคอยการพิพากษาโทษและไฟอันร้ายแรง ซึ่งจะกินเอาบรรดาคนที่ขัดขวางนั้นเสีย

²⁷but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.

²⁸คนที่ได้ฝ่าฝืนพระราชบัญญัติของโมเสสนั้น ถ้ามีพยานสักสองสามปาก ก็จะต้องตายโดยปราศจากความเมตตา

²⁸A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.

²⁹ท่านทั้งหลายคิดดูซิว่าคนที่เหยียบย่ำพระบุตรของพระเจ้า และดูหมิ่นพระโลหิตแห่งพันธสัญญาซึ่งชำระเขาให้บริสุทธิ์ว่าเป็นสิ่งชั่วช้า และประมาทต่อพระวิญญาณผู้ทรงพระคุณ ควรจะถูกลงโทษมากยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเท่าใด

²⁹How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

³⁰เพราะเรารู้จักพระองค์ผู้ได้ตรัสว่า `การแก้แค้นเป็นของเรา เราจะตอบสนอง องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าได้ตรัส' และได้ตรัสอีกว่า `องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะทรงพิพากษาประชาชนของพระองค์'

³⁰For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me,” says the Lord, “I will repay.” Deuteronomy 32:35 Again, “The Lord will judge his people.” Deuteronomy 32:36; Psalm 135:14

³¹การตกอยู่ในอุ้งพระหัตถ์ของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์นั้นเป็นที่น่าหวาดกลัว

³¹It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

³²แต่ท่านทั้งหลายจงระลึกถึงคราวก่อนนั้น หลังจากที่ท่านได้รับความสว่างแล้ว ท่านได้อดทนต่อความยากลำบากอย่างใหญ่หลวง

³²But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings;

³³บางทีท่านก็ถูกประจานให้อับอายขายหน้าและถูกข่มเหง บางทีท่านก็ร่วมทุกข์กับคนที่ถูกข่มเหงนั้น

³³partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions; and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.

³⁴เพราะว่าท่านทั้งหลายมีใจเมตตาต่อข้าพเจ้าในเมื่อข้าพเจ้าต้องถูกขังไว้ และเมื่อมีคนปล้นชิงเอาทรัพย์สิ่งของของท่านไป ท่านก็ยอมให้ด้วยใจยินดี เพราะท่านรู้แล้วว่า ท่านมีทรัพย์สมบัติที่ประเสริฐกว่าและถาวรกว่านั้นอีกในสวรรค์

³⁴For you both had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.

³⁵เหตุฉะนั้นขออย่าได้ละทิ้งความไว้วางใจของท่าน ซึ่งมีบำเหน็จอันยิ่งใหญ่

³⁵Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.

³⁶ด้วยว่าท่านทั้งหลายต้องการความเพียร เพื่อว่าครั้นท่านกระทำให้น้ำพระทัยของพระเจ้าสำเร็จได้ ท่านจะได้รับตามคำทรงสัญญา

³⁶For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

³⁷`เพราะอีกไม่นานพระองค์ผู้จะเสด็จมาก็จะเสด็จมาและจะไม่ทรงชักช้า

³⁷“In a very little while, he who comes will come, and will not wait.

³⁸แต่คนชอบธรรมจะมีชีวิตดำรงอยู่โดยความเชื่อ และถ้าผู้ใดเสื่อมถอย ใจของเราจะไม่มีความพอใจในคนนั้นเลย'

³⁸But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” Habakkuk 2:3-4

³⁹แต่เราทั้งหลายไม่อยู่ฝ่ายคนเหล่านั้นที่กลับถอยหลังถึงความพินาศ แต่อยู่ฝ่ายคนเหล่านั้นที่เชื่อจนให้จิตวิญญาณถึงที่รอด

³⁹But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
