¹จงจรดแตรไว้ที่ปากของเจ้า เพราะว่าเขาจะมาดังนกอินทรีเหนือพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะเขาได้ละเมิดพันธสัญญาของเรา และละเมิดราชบัญญัติของเรา

¹“Put the trumpet to your lips! Something like an eagle is over Yahweh’s house, because they have broken my covenant, and rebelled against my law.

²อิสราเอลจะร้องทุกข์ต่อเราว่า "ข้าแต่พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์รู้จักพระองค์"

³อิสราเอลได้ทอดทิ้งสิ่งที่ดีเสียแล้ว ศัตรูจะไล่ติดตามเขา

³Israel has cast off that which is good. The enemy will pursue him.

⁴เขาทั้งหลายได้แต่งตั้งกษัตริย์ แต่ไม่ใช่โดยเรา เขาทั้งหลายตั้งเจ้านาย แต่เราไม่รู้เรื่องเลย พวกเขาได้สร้างรูปเคารพทั้งหลายด้วยเงินและทองคำของเขา เพื่อพวกเขาจะถูกตัดขาดออกเสีย

⁴They have set up kings, but not by me. They have made princes, and I didn’t approve. Of their silver and their gold they have made themselves idols, that they may be cut off.

⁵โอ สะมาเรียเอ๋ย รูปลูกวัวของเจ้าได้ทิ้งเจ้าเสียแล้ว ความกริ้วของเราพลุ่งขึ้นต่อเขา อีกนานสักเท่าใดหนอเขาจึงจะบริสุทธิ์กันได้

⁵Let Samaria throw out his calf idol! My anger burns against them! How long will it be until they are capable of purity?

⁶เพราะรูปหล่อนั้นได้มาจากอิสราเอล ช่างเป็นผู้ทำขึ้น รูปนั้นจึงมิได้เป็นพระเจ้า รูปลูกวัวของสะมาเรียจะต้องถูกทุบให้เป็นชิ้นๆ

⁶For this is even from Israel! The workman made it, and it is no God; indeed, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

⁷เพราะว่าเขาหว่านลม เขาจึงต้องเกี่ยวลมบ้าหมู ต้นข้าวไม่มีรวง จะไม่เกิดข้าวสำหรับทำแป้ง ถึงจะเกิด คนต่างด้าวก็เอาไปกิน

⁷For they sow the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind. He has no standing grain. The stalk will yield no head. If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.

⁸อิสราเอลถูกกลืนไปหมดแล้ว เดี๋ยวนี้อยู่ท่ามกลางประชาชาติทั้งหลาย เป็นเหมือนภาชนะไร้ความพึงพอใจ

⁸Israel is swallowed up. Now they are among the nations like a worthless thing.

⁹เขาทั้งหลายขึ้นไปหาอัสซีเรียดังลาป่าที่ท่องเที่ยวอยู่ลำพัง เอฟราอิมได้จ้างคนรักมา

⁹For they have gone up to Assyria, like a wild donkey wandering alone. Ephraim has hired lovers for himself.

¹⁰เออ แม้ว่าเขาจ้างประชาชาติอื่นมา ไม่ช้าเราจะต้อนเขาให้รวมกัน เขาจะเป็นทุกข์เล็กน้อยเรื่องภาระของกษัตริย์จอมเจ้านาย

¹⁰But although they sold themselves among the nations, I will now gather them; and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.

¹¹เพราะเหตุเอฟราอิมได้ก่อสร้างแท่นบูชาเพิ่มขึ้นเพื่อบาป แท่นบูชาเหล่านั้นก็กลับกลายเป็นแท่นเพื่อบาปให้เขา

¹¹Because Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning, they became for him altars for sinning.

¹²ถึงเราได้เขียนราชบัญญัติไว้ให้สักหมื่นข้อ เขาก็ถือว่าเป็นเพียงของแปลก

¹²I wrote for him the many things of my law; but they were regarded as a strange thing.

¹³ส่วนเครื่องสัตวบูชาที่ถวายแก่เรานั้น เขาถวายเนื้อและรับประทานเนื้อนั้น แต่พระเยโฮวาห์มิได้พอพระทัยในตัวเขา บัดนี้พระองค์จะทรงระลึกถึงความชั่วช้าของเขา และจะทรงลงโทษเขาเพราะบาปของเขา เขาจะกลับไปยังอียิปต์

¹³As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice flesh and eat it; But Yahweh doesn’t accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.

¹⁴เพราะว่าอิสราเอลได้ลืมพระผู้สร้างของตนเสียแล้ว จึงสร้างวิหารขึ้นหลายแห่ง และยูดาห์ก็ทวีจำนวนเมืองที่มีกำแพงขึ้นอีก แต่เราจะส่งไฟมายังเมืองเหล่านี้ของเขา และไฟจะเผาผลาญปราสาทของเมืองเหล่านี้เสีย

¹⁴For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire on his cities, and it will devour its fortresses.”
