¹ยิ่งกว่านี่พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าว่า

¹The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²"จงไปประกาศกรอกหูของกรุงเยรูซาเล็มว่า พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า เรายังจำเจ้าได้ คือความเมตตาในวัยสาวของเจ้า ความรักของเจ้าครั้งเจ้าเป็นสาว เมื่อเจ้าตามเรามาในถิ่นทุรกันดาร ในดินแดนที่ไม่ได้หว่านพืชอะไร

²“Go, and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “I remember for you the kindness of your youth, the love of your weddings; how you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

³อิสราเอลนั้นเป็นส่วนบริสุทธิ์ของพระเยโฮวาห์ คือเป็นผลิตผลรุ่นแรกของพระองค์ คนทั้งปวงที่ได้กินผลนั้นก็ผิด เหตุร้ายจึงจะมาถึงเขา พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ"

³Israel was holiness to Yahweh, the first fruits of his increase. All who devour him shall be held guilty. Evil shall come on them,”’ says Yahweh.”

⁴โอ วงศ์วานของยาโคบ และบรรดาครอบครัวแห่งวงศ์วานอิสราเอลเอ๋ย จงฟังพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์

⁴Hear the word of Yahweh, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel!

⁵พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "บรรพบุรุษของเจ้าจับความชั่วช้าอะไรได้ในเราเล่า เขาจึงไปห่างเสียจากเรา และไปติดตามสิ่งไร้ค่า และได้กลายเป็นสิ่งไร้ค่า

⁵Thus says Yahweh, “What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

⁶เขาทั้งหลายมิได้กล่าวว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์ประทับที่ไหน ผู้ได้พาเราขึ้นมาจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ ผู้ได้นำเราอยู่ในป่าถิ่นทุรกันดาร ในแดนทะเลทรายมีหลุม ในแดนที่กันดารน้ำและมีเงามัจจุราช ในแผ่นดินที่ไม่มีผู้ใดผ่านไปได้ และไม่มีมนุษย์อาศัยอยู่ที่นั่น'

⁶Neither did they say, ‘Where is Yahweh who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, through a land that none passed through, and where no man lived?’

⁷และเราได้พาเจ้าทั้งหลายเข้ามาในดินแดนที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ เพื่อกินผลไม้และของดีๆในแผ่นดินนั้น แต่เมื่อเจ้าเข้ามา เจ้าได้กระทำให้แผ่นดินของเราเป็นมลทิน และกระทำให้มรดกของเราเป็นสิ่งน่าสะอิดสะเอียน

⁷I brought you into a plentiful land, to eat its fruit and its goodness; but when you entered, you defiled my land, and made my heritage an abomination.

⁸ปุโรหิตทั้งหลายมิได้กล่าวว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์ประทับที่ไหน' คนเหล่านั้นที่แถลงพระราชบัญญัติไม่รู้จักเรา บรรดาผู้เลี้ยงแกะก็ละเมิดต่อเรา พวกผู้พยากรณ์ได้พยากรณ์โดยพระบาอัล และดำเนินติดตามสิ่งที่ไม่เป็นประโยชน์"

⁸The priests didn’t say, ‘Where is Yahweh?’ and those who handle the law didn’t know me. The rulers also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

⁹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "เพราะฉะนั้นเราจะยังโต้แย้งกับเจ้า เราจะโต้แย้งกับลูกหลานของเจ้า

⁹“Therefore I will yet contend with you,” says Yahweh, “and I will contend with your children’s children.

¹⁰เหตุว่า จงข้ามไปยังฝั่งเกาะคิทธิม แล้วก็ดู และใช้คนไปถึงเมืองเคดาร์และพิจารณาอย่างถี่ถ้วน ดูทีว่าเคยมีสิ่งอย่างนี้บ้างไหม

¹⁰For pass over to the islands of Kittim, and see; and send to Kedar, and consider diligently; and see if there has been such a thing.

¹¹มีประชาชาติใดเคยได้เปลี่ยนพระของตน ถึงแม้ว่าพระเหล่านั้นไม่เป็นพระ แต่ประชาชนของเราได้เอาสง่าราศีของเขาแลกกับสิ่งที่ไม่เป็นประโยชน์อย่างใด"

¹¹Has a nation changed its gods, which really are no gods? But my people have changed their glory for that which does not profit.

¹²พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "ฟ้าสวรรค์ทั้งหลายเอ๋ย จงตกตะลึงด้วยสิ่งนี้ จงเกรงกลัวอย่างสยดสยองและจงโดดเดี่ยวอ้างว้างเสียเลย

¹²“Be astonished, you heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid. Be very desolate,” says Yahweh.

¹³เพราะว่าประชาชนของเราได้กระทำความชั่วถึงสองประการ เขาได้ทอดทิ้งเราเสียซึ่งเป็นแหล่งน้ำเป็น แล้วสกัดหินขังน้ำไว้สำหรับตนเอง เป็นถังน้ำแตก ซึ่งขังน้ำไม่ได้

¹³“For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the spring of living waters, and cut them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

¹⁴อิสราเอลเป็นทาสเขาหรือ หรือเป็นทาสที่เกิดมาในบ้าน เหตุใดเขาจึงตกไปเป็นเหยื่อ

¹⁴Is Israel a servant? Is he a native-born slave? Why has he become a prey?

¹⁵The young lions have roared at him, and yelled. They have made his land waste. His cities are burned up, without inhabitant.

¹⁶The children also of Memphis and Tahpanhes have broken the crown of your head.

¹⁷“Haven’t you procured this to yourself, in that you have forsaken Yahweh your God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” , when he led you by the way?

¹⁸Now what have you to do in the way to Egypt, to drink the waters of the Shihor? Or what have you to do in the way to Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?

¹⁹ความโหดร้ายของเจ้าจะตีสอนเจ้าเอง และการที่เจ้ากลับสัตย์นั้นเองจะตำหนิเจ้า ฉะนั้นเจ้าจงรู้และเห็นเถิดว่า มันเป็นความชั่วและความขมขื่น ซึ่งเจ้าทอดทิ้งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า ซึ่งความยำเกรงเรามิได้อยู่ในตัวเจ้าเลย" องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าจอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้แหละ

¹⁹“Your own wickedness shall correct you, and your backsliding shall reprove you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and a bitter, that you have forsaken Yahweh your God, and that my fear is not in you,” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies.

²⁰"เพราะว่านานมาแล้วเราได้หักแอกของเจ้า และระเบิดพันธนะของเจ้าเสีย และเจ้าได้กล่าวว่า `ข้าจะไม่ละเมิด' เออ เจ้าได้โน้มตัวลงเล่นชู้บนเนินเขาสูงทุกแห่งและใต้ต้นไม้เขียวสดทุกต้น

²⁰“For of old time I have broken your yoke, and burst your bonds; and you said, ‘I will not serve;’ for on every high hill and under every green tree you bowed yourself, playing the prostitute.

²¹แต่เราได้ปลูกเจ้าไว้เป็นเถาองุ่นอย่างดี เป็นพันธุ์แท้ทั้งนั้น แล้วทำไมเจ้าเสื่อมทรามลงจนกลายเป็นเถาแปลกไปได้"

²¹Yet I had planted you a noble vine, wholly a right seed. How then have you turned into the degenerate branches of a foreign vine to me?

²²องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า "ถึงแม้ว่าเจ้าชำระตัวด้วยน้ำด่าง และใช้สบู่มาก แต่รอยเปื้อนความชั่วช้าของเจ้าก็ยังปรากฏอยู่ต่อหน้าเรา

²²For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap, yet your iniquity is marked before me,” says the Lord Yahweh.

²³เจ้าจะพูดได้อย่างไรว่า `ข้าไม่เป็นมลทิน ข้ามิได้ติดตามพระบาอัลไป' จงมองดูท่าทางของเจ้าที่ในหุบเขาซิ จงสำนึกซิว่าเจ้าได้กระทำอะไร เจ้าเหมือนอูฐสาวคะนองที่เดินข้ามไปข้ามมา

²³“How can you say, ‘I am not defiled. I have not gone after the Baals’? See your way in the valley. Know what you have done. You are a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

²⁴เหมือนลาป่าที่คุ้นเคยกับถิ่นทุรกันดาร ได้สูดลมด้วยความอยากอันรุนแรงของมัน ใครจะระงับความใคร่ของมันได้ บรรดาที่แสวงหามันจะไม่ต้องเหน็ดเหนื่อย เมื่อถึงเดือนที่กำหนดของมันจะพบมันเอง

²⁴a wild donkey used to the wilderness, that snuffs up the wind in her desire. When she is in heat, who can turn her away? All those who seek her will not weary themselves. In her month, they will find her.

²⁵ระวังอย่าให้เท้าของเจ้าขาดรองเท้า และระวังลำคอของเจ้าให้พ้นจากความกระหาย แต่เจ้ากล่าวว่า `หมดหวังเสียแล้ว เพราะข้าได้รักพระอื่น และข้าจะติดตามไป'

²⁵“Withhold your foot from being unshod, and your throat from thirst. But you said, ‘It is in vain. No, for I have loved strangers, and I will go after them.’

²⁶เมื่อโจรถูกจับมีความละอายฉันใด วงศ์วานของอิสราเอลก็จะละอายฉันนั้น ทั้งตัวเขา กษัตริย์ เจ้านาย ปุโรหิตและผู้พยากรณ์ทั้งหลายของเขา

²⁶As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets;

²⁷ผู้กล่าวแก่ลำต้นว่า `ท่านเป็นบิดาของข้าพเจ้า' และกล่าวแก่ศิลาว่า `ท่านคลอดข้าพเจ้ามา' เพราะเขาทั้งหลายได้หันหลังให้แก่เรา มิใช่หันหน้ามาให้ แต่เมื่อถึงเวลาลำบากเขาจะกล่าวว่า `ขอทรงลุกขึ้นช่วยข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายให้รอด'

²⁷who tell wood, ‘You are my father;’ and a stone, ‘You have brought me out:’ for they have turned their back to me, and not their face; but in the time of their trouble they will say, ‘Arise, and save us.’

²⁸แต่บรรดาพระของเจ้าอยู่ที่ไหนเล่า ซึ่งเป็นพระที่เจ้าสร้างไว้สำหรับตัวเอง ถ้ามันช่วยเจ้าให้รอดได้ ก็ให้มันลุกขึ้นช่วย เมื่อถึงเวลาลำบากของเจ้า ยูดาห์เอ๋ย เจ้ามีหัวเมืองมากเท่าใด เจ้าก็มีพระมากเท่านั้น"

²⁸“But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble: for according to the number of your cities are your gods, Judah.

²⁹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "เจ้าทั้งหลายจะมาร้องทุกข์เรื่องเราทำไม เจ้าได้ละเมิดต่อเราหมดทุกคนแล้ว

²⁹“Why will you contend with me? You all have transgressed against me,” says Yahweh.

³⁰เราได้โบยตีลูกหลานของเจ้าเสียเปล่า เขาทั้งหลายก็ไม่ดีขึ้น ดาบของเจ้าเองได้กลืนผู้พยากรณ์ของเจ้า เหมือนอย่างสิงโตที่ทำลาย

³⁰“I have struck your children in vain. They received no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

³¹โอ คนยุคนี้เอ๋ย เจ้าทั้งหลายจงพิจารณาดูพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ เราเป็นเหมือนถิ่นทุรกันดารแก่อิสราเอลหรือ หรือเหมือนแผ่นดินที่มืดทึบหรือ ทำไมประชาชนของเราจึงกล่าวว่า `ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายเป็นเจ้านาย ข้าพระองค์จะไม่มาหาพระองค์อีก'

³¹Generation, consider the word of Yahweh. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Why do my people say, ‘We have broken loose. We will come to you no more?’

³²สาวพรหมจารีจะลืมอาภรณ์ของเธอได้หรือ เจ้าสาวจะลืมเครื่องพันกายของตนได้หรือ แต่ประชาชนของเราได้ลืมเรา เป็นเวลากี่วันก็นับไม่ไหวแล้ว

³²“Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me for days without number.

³³ทำไมเจ้านำวิถีของเจ้าไปหาความรักอย่างแนบเนียน ฉะนั้นเจ้าจึงสอนทางของเจ้าให้คนชั่วด้วย

³³How well you prepare your way to seek love! Therefore you have taught even the wicked women your ways.

³⁴ที่ชายเสื้อของเจ้าจะเห็นโลหิตของคนจนที่ไร้ความผิดด้วย เรามิได้พบโดยการสืบหาอย่างลึกลับ แต่โดยเรื่องต่างๆเหล่านี้

³⁴Also the blood of the souls of the innocent poor is found in your skirts. You did not find them breaking in; but it is because of all these things.

³⁵เจ้าก็ยังกล่าวว่า `เพราะข้าพเจ้าไม่มีความผิดเลย พระพิโรธของพระองค์จะหันกลับจากข้าพเจ้าเป็นแน่' ดูเถิด เราจะนำเจ้าไปสู่การพิพากษา เพราะเจ้าได้กล่าวว่า `ข้าพเจ้ามิได้กระทำบาป'

³⁵“Yet you said, ‘I am innocent. Surely his anger has turned away from me.’ “Behold, I will judge you, because you say, ‘I have not sinned.’

³⁶ทำไมเจ้าท่องเที่ยวไปๆมาๆอย่างเบาความเช่นนั้น โดยเปลี่ยนเส้นทางของเจ้าอยู่เสมอนะ อียิปต์จะกระทำให้เจ้าได้อาย เหมือนอัสซีเรียได้กระทำให้เจ้าได้อายมาแล้วนั้น

³⁶Why do you go about so much to change your way? You will be ashamed of Egypt also, as you were ashamed of Assyria.

³⁷เจ้าจะออกมาจากที่นั่นด้วย โดยเอามือกุมศีรษะของเจ้าไว้ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงทอดทิ้งบรรดาความไว้วางใจของเจ้าเสีย เจ้าจะเจริญขึ้นมาเพราะเขาก็ไม่ได้"

³⁷From there also you shall go forth, with your hands on your head; for Yahweh has rejected those in whom you trust, and you shall not prosper with them.
