¹"`มนุษย์ที่เกิดมาโดยผู้หญิงก็อยู่แต่น้อยวัน และเต็มไปด้วยความยุ่งยากใจ

¹“Man, who is born of a woman, is of few days, and full of trouble.

²เขาออกมาเหมือนดอกไม้ แล้วก็ถูกตัดให้ล้มลง เขาลี้ไปอย่างเงา และไม่อยู่ต่อไปอีก

²He comes forth like a flower, and is cut down. He also flees like a shadow, and doesn’t continue.

³และพระองค์ทรงลืมพระเนตรมองคนอย่างนี้หรือ และทรงนำข้าพระองค์มาในการพิพากษาของพระองค์หรือ

³Do you open your eyes on such a one, and bring me into judgment with you?

⁴ใครจะเอาสิ่งสะอาดออกมาจากสิ่งไม่สะอาดได้ ไม่มีใครสักคน

⁴Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

⁵วันเวลาของเขาถูกกำหนดไว้เสียแล้ว และจำนวนเดือนของเขาก็อยู่กับพระองค์ พระองค์ทรงกำหนดขอบเขตของเขาไม่ให้เขาผ่านไปได้

⁵Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months is with you, and you have appointed his bounds that he can’t pass;

⁶Look away from him, that he may rest, until he shall accomplish, as a hireling, his day.

⁷เพราะสำหรับต้นไม้ก็มีความหวัง ถ้ามันถูกตัดลง มันก็จะแตกหน่ออีก และหน่ออ่อนของมันจะไม่หยุดยั้ง

⁷“For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, that the tender branch of it will not cease.

⁸ถึงรากของมันจะแก่อยู่ในดิน และตอของมันจะตายอยู่ในผงคลีดิน

⁸Though its root grows old in the earth, and its stock dies in the ground,

⁹แต่พอได้กลิ่นไอของน้ำ มันจะงอกและแตกกิ่งออกเหมือนต้นไม้อ่อน

⁹yet through the scent of water it will bud, and put forth boughs like a plant.

¹⁰แต่มนุษย์ตาย และล้มพังพาบ เออ มนุษย์สิ้นลมหายใจและเขาอยู่ที่ไหนเล่า

¹⁰But man dies, and is laid low. Yes, man gives up the spirit, and where is he?

¹¹น้ำขาดจากทะเลสาบไป และแม่น้ำก็เหือดและแห้งไปฉันใด

¹¹As the waters fail from the sea, and the river wastes and dries up,

¹²ฉันนั้นแหละ มนุษย์ก็นอนลงและไม่ลุกขึ้นอีก จนท้องฟ้าไม่มีอีก เขาก็ไม่ตื่นขึ้น และปลุกเขาก็ไม่ได้

¹²so man lies down and doesn’t rise. Until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.

¹³โอ หากพระองค์ทรงซ่อนข้าพระองค์ไว้ในแดนคนตายก็จะดี ใคร่จะให้พระองค์ทรงปกปิดข้าพระองค์ไว้จนพระพิโรธพระองค์พ้นไป ใคร่จะให้พระองค์ทรงกำหนดเวลาให้ข้าพระองค์ และทรงระลึกถึงข้าพระองค์

¹³“Oh that you would hide me in Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. , that you would keep me secret, until your wrath is past, that you would appoint me a set time, and remember me!

¹⁴ถ้ามนุษย์ตายแล้ว เขาจะมีชีวิตอีกหรือ ข้าพระองค์จะคอยอยู่ตลอดวันประจำการของข้าพระองค์ จนกว่าการปลดปล่อยของข้าพระองค์จะมาถึง

¹⁴If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my warfare would I wait, until my release should come.

¹⁵พระองค์จะทรงเรียก และข้าพระองค์จะทูลตอบพระองค์ พระองค์จะทรงอาลัยอาวรณ์พระหัตถกิจของพระองค์

¹⁵You would call, and I would answer you. You would have a desire to the work of your hands.

¹⁶แต่พระองค์ทรงนับก้าวของข้าพระองค์ พระองค์มิได้ทรงจ้องจับผิดข้าพระองค์หรือ

¹⁶But now you number my steps. Don’t you watch over my sin?

¹⁷การละเมิดของข้าพระองค์นั้นทรงใส่ไว้ในถุงที่ผนึกตรา และพระองค์ทรงมัดความชั่วช้าของข้าพระองค์ไว้

¹⁷My disobedience is sealed up in a bag. You fasten up my iniquity.

¹⁸แต่ภูเขาก็ทลายลงและผุพังไป และก้อนหินก็ถูกย้ายไปจากที่ของมัน

¹⁸“But the mountain falling comes to nothing. The rock is removed out of its place;

¹⁹น้ำเซาะหินไปเสีย พระองค์ทรงพัดพาสิ่งต่างๆที่งอกขึ้นจากผงคลีดินแห่งแผ่นดินโลกไป พระองค์ทรงทำลายความหวังของมนุษย์เช่นกัน

¹⁹The waters wear the stones. The torrents of it wash away the dust of the earth. So you destroy the hope of man.

²⁰พระองค์ทรงชนะเขาเสมอ และเขาก็ล่วงลับไป พระองค์ทรงเปลี่ยนสีหน้าของเขาและทรงส่งเขาไปเสีย

²⁰You forever prevail against him, and he departs. You change his face, and send him away.

²¹บรรดาบุตรชายของเขาได้รับเกียรติและเขาก็ไม่ทราบ เขาทั้งหลายตกต่ำลง แต่เขาหาหยั่งรู้ไม่

²¹His sons come to honor, and he doesn’t know it. They are brought low, but he doesn’t perceive it of them.

²²เขารู้สึกเพียงความเจ็บในร่างกายของตน และจิตใจเขาคร่ำครวญ'"

²²But his flesh on him has pain, and his soul within him mourns.”
