1แล้วโยบตอบว่า
1Then Job answered,
2"ข้าเคยได้ยินเรื่องอย่างนี้มามากแล้ว ท่านทุกคนเป็นผู้เล้าโลมที่กวนใจ
2“I have heard many such things. You are all miserable comforters!
3คำลมๆแล้งๆจะจบสิ้นเมื่อไรหนอ ท่านเป็นอะไรไป ท่านจึงตอบอย่างนี้
3Shall vain words have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer?
4ข้าก็พูดอย่างท่านทั้งหลายได้เหมือนกัน ถ้าชีวิตท่านมาแทนที่ชีวิตของข้า ข้าก็สามารถสรรหาถ้อยคำมากมายก่ายกองมาต่อสู้ท่านทั้งหลายได้ และสั่นศีรษะของข้าใส่ท่าน
4I also could speak as you do. If your soul were in my soul’s place, I could join words together against you, and shake my head at you,
5ข้าจะหนุนกำลังของท่านทั้งหลายด้วยปากของข้าก็ได้ และการเคลื่อนไหวแห่งริมฝีปากของข้าจะระงับความเจ็บปวดของท่านก็ได้ด้วย
5but I would strengthen you with my mouth. The solace of my lips would relieve you.
6ถ้าข้าพูด ความเจ็บปวดของข้าก็ไม่ระงับ และถ้าข้านิ่งไว้ จะบรรเทาไปสักเท่าใด
6“Though I speak, my grief is not subsided. Though I forbear, what am I eased?
7แต่นี่แหละ เดี๋ยวนี้พระเจ้าทรงให้ข้าอ่อนเปลี้ย พระองค์ทรงกระทำให้พรรคพวกทั้งสิ้นของข้าเลิกร้างไป
7But now, God, you have surely worn me out. You have made desolate all my company.
8และพระองค์ได้ให้ข้าเต็มไปด้วยรอยย่นซึ่งสภาพนี้เป็นพยานปรักปรำข้า และความผ่ายผอมของข้าลุกขึ้นปรักปรำข้า มันเป็นพยานใส่หน้าข้า
8You have shriveled me up. This is a witness against me. My leanness rises up against me. It testifies to my face.
9พระองค์ทรงฉีกข้าด้วยพระพิโรธของพระองค์และทรงเกลียดชังข้า พระองค์ทรงขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟันใส่ข้า ปรปักษ์ของข้าถลึงตาสู้ข้า
9He has torn me in his wrath, and persecuted me. He has gnashed on me with his teeth. My adversary sharpens his eyes on me.
10มีคนอ้าปากใส่ข้า เขาตบแก้มประจานข้า เขาสุมหัวกันปรักปรำข้า
10They have gaped on me with their mouth. They have struck me on the cheek reproachfully. They gather themselves together against me.
11พระเจ้าทรงมอบข้าให้แก่คนอธรรม และทรงเหวี่ยงข้าไว้ในมือของคนชั่วร้าย
11God delivers me to the ungodly, and casts me into the hands of the wicked.
12ข้าอยู่สบาย และพระองค์ทรงหักข้าสะบั้น เออ พระองค์ทรงฉวยคอข้า และฟาดข้าลงเป็นชิ้นๆ พระองค์ทรงตั้งข้าให้เป็นเป้าของพระองค์
12I was at ease, and he broke me apart. Yes, he has taken me by the neck, and dashed me to pieces. He has also set me up for his target.
13นักธนูของพระองค์ล้อมข้า พระองค์ทรงทะลวงเปิดไตของข้าและไม่เพลามือเลย พระองค์ทรงเทน้ำดีของข้าลงบนดิน
13His archers surround me. He splits my kidneys apart, and does not spare. He pours out my gall on the ground.
14พระองค์ทรงพังเข้าไปเป็นช่องๆ พระองค์ทรงวิ่งเข้าใส่ข้าอย่างมนุษย์ยักษ์
14He breaks me with breach on breach. He runs on me like a giant.
15ข้าเย็บผ้ากระสอบติดหนังของข้า และทำให้เขาสัตว์ของข้าสกปรกด้วยผงคลีดิน
15I have sewed sackcloth on my skin, and have thrust my horn in the dust.
16หน้าของข้าแดงด้วยการร่ำไห้ เงามัจจุราชอยู่ที่หนังตาของข้า
16My face is red with weeping. Deep darkness is on my eyelids.
17แม้ว่าในมือของข้าไม่มีความอยุติธรรมเลย และคำอธิษฐานของข้าก็บริสุทธิ์
17Although there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.
18โอ แผ่นดินโลกเอ๋ย อย่าปิดบังโลหิตของข้านะ อย่าให้เสียงร้องของข้ามีที่หยุดพัก
18“Earth, don’t cover my blood. Let my cry have no place to rest.
19ดูเถิด เดี๋ยวนี้เองพยานของข้าก็อยู่บนสวรรค์ และพระองค์ผู้รับรองข้าก็อยู่ในที่สูง
19Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven. He who vouches for me is on high.
20เพื่อนของข้าดูหมิ่นข้า แต่ตาของข้าเทน้ำตาออกถวายพระเจ้า
20My friends scoff at me. My eyes pour out tears to God,
21ขอให้ผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดอ้อนวอนเพื่อมนุษย์ต่อพระเจ้า อย่างที่มนุษย์อ้อนวอนเพื่อเพื่อนบ้านของเขา
21that he would maintain the right of a man with God, of a son of man with his neighbor!
22เพราะว่าต่อไปอีกไม่กี่ปี ข้าจะไปตามทางที่ข้าจะไม่กลับ"
22For when a few years have come, I shall go the way of no return.
