1แล้วโยบตอบว่า
1Then Job answered,
2"ท่านทั้งหลายจะทรมานจิตใจข้านานสักเท่าใด ทั้งทุบข้าเป็นชิ้นๆด้วยถ้อยคำ
2“How long will you torment me, and crush me with words?
3ท่านทั้งหลายพูดสบประมาทข้าสิบหนแล้ว และที่ทำตัวเป็นคนแปลกหน้าต่อข้านั้นท่านก็ไม่อายเลย
3You have reproached me ten times. You aren’t ashamed that you attack me.
4ถ้าแม้ว่าข้าหลงทำผิดจริง ความผิดของข้าก็อยู่กับข้า
4If it is true that I have erred, my error remains with myself.
5ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายจะผยองเพราะข้าจริง และใช้ความต่ำต้อยของข้าปรักปรำข้า
5If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach;
6จงทราบเถิดว่าพระเจ้าทรงคว่ำข้าลงแล้ว และได้ทรงเอาตาข่ายของพระองค์ล้อมข้าไว้
6know now that God has subverted me, and has surrounded me with his net.
7ดูเถิด ข้าร้องออกมาเพราะเหตุความทารุณ แต่ไม่มีใครฟัง ข้าร้องให้ช่วย แต่ไม่มีความยุติธรรมที่ไหน
7“Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard. I cry for help, but there is no justice.
8พระองค์ทรงก่อกำแพงกั้นทางข้าไว้ ข้าจึงข้ามไปไม่ได้ และพระองค์ทรงให้ทางของข้ามืดไป
8He has walled up my way so that I can’t pass, and has set darkness in my paths.
9พระองค์ทรงปลดสง่าราศีของข้าไปจากข้าเสีย และทรงถอดมงกุฎจากศีรษะของข้า
9He has stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10พระองค์ทรงพังข้าลงเสียทุกด้านและข้าก็สิ้นไป พระองค์ทรงทึ้งความหวังของข้าขึ้นเหมือนถอนต้นไม้
10He has broken me down on every side, and I am gone. My hope he has plucked up like a tree.
11พระพิโรธของพระองค์พลุ่งขึ้นใส่ข้า และทรงนับข้าว่าเป็นปรปักษ์ของพระองค์
11He has also kindled his wrath against me. He counts me among his adversaries.
12กองทหารของพระองค์เข้ามาพร้อมกัน เขาทั้งหลายก่อเชิงเทินต่อสู้ข้า และตั้งค่ายล้อมเต็นท์ของข้า
12His troops come on together, build a siege ramp against me, and encamp around my tent.
13พระองค์ทรงให้พี่น้องของข้าห่างไกลจากข้า ผู้ที่คุ้นเคยของข้าก็หันไปจากข้าเสีย
13“He has put my brothers far from me. My acquaintances are wholly estranged from me.
14ญาติของข้าละข้าเสีย และเพื่อนสนิทของข้าได้ลืมข้าเสียแล้ว
14My relatives have gone away. My familiar friends have forgotten me.
15คนทั้งหลายที่อาศัยอยู่ในบ้านของข้าและสาวใช้ของข้า นับข้าเป็นคนต่างด้าว ข้ากลายเป็นคนต่างด้าวในสายตาของเขา
15Those who dwell in my house, and my maids, count me for a stranger. I am an alien in their sight.
16ข้าเรียกคนใช้ของข้า แต่เขาไม่ตอบข้า ข้าต้องวิงวอนเขาด้วยปากของข้า
16I call to my servant, and he gives me no answer. I beg him with my mouth.
17ลมหายใจข้าเป็นที่ขยะแขยงแก่ภรรยาของข้า ถึงแม้ข้าได้อ้อนวอนเพื่อลูกๆที่บังเกิดแก่ข้าเอง
17My breath is offensive to my wife. I am loathsome to the children of my own mother.
18แม้เด็กๆดูหมิ่นข้า เมื่อข้าลุกขึ้นเขาก็ว่าข้า
18Even young children despise me. If I arise, they speak against me.
19สหายสนิททั้งสิ้นของข้ารังเกียจข้า และคนเหล่านั้นที่ข้ารัก เขาหันหลังให้ข้า
19All my familiar friends abhor me. They whom I loved have turned against me.
20กระดูกของข้าเกาะติดหนังและติดเนื้อของข้า และข้ารอดได้อย่างหวุดหวิด
20My bones stick to my skin and to my flesh. I have escaped by the skin of my teeth.
21ข้าแต่ท่าน สหายของข้า สงสารข้าเถิด สงสารข้าเถิด เพราะพระหัตถ์ของพระเจ้าได้แตะต้องข้า
21“Have pity on me, have pity on me, you my friends; for the hand of God has touched me.
22ทำไมท่านทั้งหลายจึงข่มเหงข้าอย่างกับเป็นพระเจ้า ทำไมท่านไม่พอใจกับเนื้อของข้า
22Why do you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23โอ ข้าอยากให้ถ้อยคำของข้าได้ถูกบันทึกไว้ โอ ข้าอยากให้จารึกไว้ในหนังสือ
23“Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book!
24ข้าอยากให้สลักไว้ในศิลาเป็นนิตย์ ด้วยปากกาเหล็กและตะกั่ว
24That with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever!
25แต่ส่วนข้า ข้าทราบว่า พระผู้ไถ่ของข้าทรงพระชนม์อยู่ และในที่สุดพระองค์จะทรงประทับยืนบนแผ่นดินโลก
25But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth.
26และหลังจากตัวหนอนแห่งผิวหนังทำลายร่างกายนี้แล้ว ในเนื้อหนังของข้า ข้าจะเห็นพระเจ้า
26After my skin is destroyed, then in my flesh shall I see God,
27ผู้ซึ่งข้าจะได้เห็นเอง และนัยน์ตาของข้าจะได้เห็น ไม่ใช่คนอื่น แม้ว่าจิตใจในตัวข้าก็อ่อนโหย
27Whom I, even I, shall see on my side. My eyes shall see, and not as a stranger. “My heart is consumed within me.
28แต่ท่านทั้งหลายควรว่า `ทำไมพวกเราข่มเหงท่าน เมื่อรากของเรื่องนั้นพบอยู่ในตัวเรา'
28If you say, ‘How we will persecute him!’ because the root of the matter is found in me,
29จงกลัวดาบ เพราะพระพิโรธนำโทษของดาบมา เพื่อท่านจะทราบว่ามีการพิพากษา"
29be afraid of the sword, for wrath brings the punishments of the sword, that you may know there is a judgment.”
