1"ร้องเรียกเดี๋ยวนี้ซิ มีผู้ใดจะตอบท่าน ท่านจะหันไปหาวิสุทธิชนผู้ใด
1“Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?
2แน่ละ ความโกรธฆ่าคนโฉดและความริษยาฆ่าคนเขลา
2For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.
3ข้าเคยเห็นคนโฉดหยั่งราก แต่ทันใดนั้นข้าก็แช่งที่อาศัยของเขา
3I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
4บุตรของเขาห่างไกลจากความปลอดภัย เขาถูกบีบคั้นที่ประตูเมือง และไม่มีผู้ใดช่วยเขาให้พ้นได้
4His children are far from safety. They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,
5ผลการเกี่ยวของเขาคนหิวก็กินเสีย แม้ส่วนที่เอาหนามสะไว้ เขาก็เอาออกไป และคนกระหายก็หอบฮักๆติดตามความมั่งคั่งของเขา
5whose harvest the hungry eats up, and take it even out of the thorns. The snare gapes for their substance.
6เพราะความทุกข์ใจมิได้มาจากผงคลี หรือความยากลำบากงอกออกมาจากดิน
6For affliction doesn’t come forth from the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
7แต่มนุษย์เกิดมาเพื่อแก่ความยากลำบาก อย่างประกายไฟย่อมปลิวขึ้นบน
7but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
8ข้าจะแสวงหาพระเจ้า และข้าจะมอบเรื่องราวของข้ากับพระเจ้า
8“But as for me, I would seek God. I would commit my cause to God,
9ผู้ทรงกระทำการใหญ่เหลือที่จะหยั่งรู้ได้ และการมหัศจรรย์อย่างนับไม่ถ้วน
9who does great things that can’t be fathomed, marvelous things without number;
10พระองค์ประทานฝนบนแผ่นดินโลก และทรงส่งน้ำมาบนไร่นา
10who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;
11พระองค์ทรงตั้งคนต่ำไว้บนที่สูง และบรรดาคนที่ไว้ทุกข์ก็ทรงยกขึ้นให้ปลอดภัย
11so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.
12พระองค์ทรงขัดขวางอุบายของเจ้าเล่ห์ เพื่อมือของเขาจะได้ทำไม่สำเร็จ
12He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands can’t perform their enterprise.
13พระองค์ทรงจับคนที่มีปัญญาด้วยอุบายของเขาเอง และคำปรึกษาของคนหลักแหลมก็สิ้นลงโดยด่วน
13He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.
14เขาประสบความมืดในเวลากลางวัน และคลำไปในเที่ยงวันเหมือนอย่างกลางคืน
14They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night.
15แต่พระองค์ทรงช่วยคนขัดสนจากดาบ จากปากของเขา และจากมือของคนมีกำลัง
15But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.
16คนจนจึงมีความหวัง และความชั่วช้าก็ปิดปากของตน
16So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.
17ดูเถิด มนุษย์คนใดที่พระเจ้าทรงติเตียนก็เป็นสุข เพราะฉะนั้นอย่าดูหมิ่นการตีสอนขององค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์
17“Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
18เพราะพระองค์ทรงให้บาดเจ็บ แต่พระองค์ทรงพันแผลให้ พระองค์โบยตี แต่พระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ทรงรักษา
18For he wounds, and binds up. He injures, and his hands make whole.
19พระองค์จะทรงช่วยท่านให้พ้นจากความยากลำบากหกประการ เออ เจ็ดประการ จะไม่มีเหตุร้ายมาแตะต้องท่าน
19He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.
20ในคราวกันดารอาหาร พระองค์จะทรงไถ่ท่านออกจากความตาย และในการสงคราม จากอานุภาพของดาบ
20In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.
21จะทรงซ่อนท่านไว้จากการใส่ร้ายของลิ้น และจะไม่กลัวการทำลายเมื่อมันมาถึง
21You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
22ท่านจะเยาะการทำลายและการกันดารอาหาร และจะไม่กลัวสัตว์ป่าดิน
22At destruction and famine you shall laugh, neither shall you be afraid of the animals of the earth.
23ท่านจะพันธมิตรกับหินแห่งทุ่งนา และสัตว์ป่าทุ่งจะอยู่อย่างสันติกับท่าน
23For you shall be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field shall be at peace with you.
24ท่านจะทราบว่าเต็นท์ของท่านปลอดภัย และท่านจะไปพักในที่อาศัยของท่าน และจะไม่ทำความผิดบาป
24You shall know that your tent is in peace. You shall visit your fold, and shall miss nothing.
25ท่านจะทราบด้วยว่าเชื้อสายของท่านจะมากมาย และลูกหลานของท่านจะเป็นอย่างหญ้าแห่งแผ่นดินโลก
25You shall know also that your seed shall be great, Your offspring as the grass of the earth.
26ท่านจะมาที่หลุมศพของท่านเมื่อแก่หง่อม อย่างฟ่อนข้าวที่นำมาสู่ลานตามฤดู
26You shall come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
27ดูเถิด นี่แหละ เป็นข้อที่เราตรองออกมาเป็นความจริง จงฟังและทราบ เพื่อประโยชน์ของตนเถิด"
27Look this, we have searched it, so it is. Hear it, and know it for your good.”
