¹This was the lot for the tribe of Manasseh, for he was the firstborn of Joseph. As for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

²และที่ดินตามสลากตกแก่คนมนัสเสห์ที่เหลืออยู่ตามครอบครัว คือคนอาบีเยเซอร์ คนเฮเลค คนอัสรีเอล คนเชเคม คนเฮเฟอร์ และคนเชมีดา บุคคลเหล่านี้เป็นบุตรชายของมนัสเสห์ ผู้เป็นบุตรชายของโยเซฟ ตามครอบครัวของเขา

²So this was for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families: for the children of Abiezer, for the children of Helek, for the children of Asriel, for the children of Shechem, for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph according to their families.

³ฝ่ายเศโลเฟหัดบุตรชายของเฮเฟอร์ บุตรชายของกิเลอาด บุตรชายของมาคีร์ บุตรชายของมนัสเสห์ไม่มีบุตรผู้ชาย มีแต่บุตรสาว และต่อไปนี้เป็นชื่อบุตรสาวของเขาคือ มาลาห์ โนอาห์ ฮกลาห์ มิลคาห์ และทีรซาห์

³But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

⁴เขาเข้ามาหาเอเลอาซาร์ปุโรหิตและโยชูวาบุตรชายนูนและต่อหน้าบรรดาประมุขแล้วกล่าวว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงบัญชาโมเสสไว้ว่า ให้ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายรับส่วนมรดกในหมู่ญาติพี่น้องของข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายได้" ดังนั้นท่านจึงให้มรดกแก่คนเหล่านี้ในหมู่พี่น้องของบิดาของเขา ตามพระบัญญัติแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์

⁴They came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, “Yahweh commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers.” Therefore according to the commandment of Yahweh he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.

⁵ดังนี้แหละส่วนที่ตกแก่คนมนัสเสห์จึงมีสิบส่วน นอกเหนือดินแดนกิเลอาดและบาชานซึ่งอยู่ฟากแม่น้ำจอร์แดนข้างโน้น

⁵Ten parts fell to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond the Jordan;

⁶เพราะว่าบุตรสาวของมนัสเสห์ก็ได้รับมรดกพร้อมกับบุตรชายของท่านด้วย แผ่นดินกิเลอาดนั้นได้ตกเป็นส่วนของบุตรชายมนัสเสห์ที่เหลืออยู่

⁶because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons. The land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the sons of Manasseh.

⁷เขตแดนของมนัสเสห์ตั้งต้นจากอาเชอร์จนถึงมิคเมธัท ซึ่งอยู่ทางทิศตะวันออกของเมืองเชเคมแล้ว พรมแดนก็ยื่นไปทางมือขวาถึงที่ของชาวเมืองเอนทัปปูวาห์

⁷The border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem. The border went along to the right hand, to the inhabitants of En Tappuah.

⁸แผ่นดินเมืองทัปปูวาห์เป็นของมนัสเสห์ แต่ตัวเมืองทัปปูวาห์ซึ่งอยู่ที่พรมแดนของมนัสเสห์นั้นเป็นของคนเอฟราอิม

⁸The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh; but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim.

⁹แล้วพรมแดนก็ลงไปถึงแม่น้ำคานาห์ หัวเมืองเหล่านี้ซึ่งอยู่ทางทิศใต้แม่น้ำในท่ามกลางหัวเมืองของมนัสเสห์นั้นเป็นของเอฟราอิม แล้วพรมแดนของมนัสเสห์ก็ขึ้นไปทางด้านเหนือของแม่น้ำไปสิ้นสุดลงที่ทะเล

⁹The border went down to the brook of Kanah, southward of the brook. These cities belonged to Ephraim among the cities of Manasseh. The border of Manasseh was on the north side of the brook, and ended at the sea.

¹⁰แผ่นดินทางด้านใต้เป็นของเอฟราอิม และแผ่นดินทางด้านเหนือเป็นของมนัสเสห์ มีทะเลเป็นพรมแดน ทางเหนือจดดินแดนอาเชอร์ และทางทิศตะวันออกจดอิสสาคาร์

¹⁰Southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea was his border. They reached to Asher on the north, and to Issachar on the east.

¹¹ในเขตอิสสาคาร์และในอาเชอร์นั้น มนัสเสห์ยังมีเมืองเบธชานกับชนบทของเมืองนั้น และเมืองอิบเลอัมกับชนบทของเมืองนั้น และชาวเมืองโดร์กับชนบทของเมืองนั้น และชาวเมืองเอนโดร์กับชนบทของเมืองนั้น และชาวเมืองทาอานาคกับชนบทของเมืองนั้น และชาวเมืองเมกิดโดกับชนบทของเมืองนั้น คือภูเขาทั้งสามยอด

¹¹Manasseh had three heights in Issachar, in Asher Beth Shean and its towns, and Ibleam and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns.

¹²แต่คนมนัสเสห์ยังขับไล่ชาวเมืองเหล่านั้นไม่ได้ ด้วยคนคานาอันยังขืนอาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินนั้น

¹²Yet the children of Manasseh couldn’t drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

¹³ต่อมาเมื่อคนอิสราเอลเข้มแข็งขึ้นแล้ว ก็ได้เกณฑ์คนคานาอันให้ทำงานโยธา และมิได้ขับไล่ให้เขาออกไปเสียทีเดียว

¹³It happened, when the children of Israel had grown strong, that they put the Canaanites to forced labor, and didn’t utterly drive them out.

¹⁴คนโยเซฟได้พูดกับโยชูวาว่า "เหตุไฉนท่านจึงแบ่งให้ข้าพเจ้ามีแต่ส่วนเดียวเป็นมรดก แม้ว่าข้าพเจ้ามีคนมากมาย เพราะว่าพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงอวยพระพรแก่พวกข้าพเจ้ามาจนบัดนี้แล้ว"

¹⁴The children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, “Why have you given me just one lot and one part for an inheritance, since I am a great people, because Yahweh has blessed me so far?”

¹⁵ฝ่ายโยชูวาตอบเขาว่า "ถ้าเจ้ามีคนมากมาย และถ้าแดนเทือกเขาของคนเอฟราอิมเป็นที่แคบไปสำหรับเจ้า พวกเจ้าจงเข้าไปในป่าแผ้วถางเอาเอง ที่ในแผ่นดินของคนเปริสซีและพวกมนุษย์ยักษ์"

¹⁵Joshua said to them, “If you are a great people, go up to the forest, and clear land for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the Rephaim; since the hill country of Ephraim is too narrow for you.”

¹⁶คนโยเซฟพูดว่า "แดนเทือกเขานี้ไม่พอสำหรับพวกเรา บรรดาคนคานาอันซึ่งอยู่ในบริเวณหุบเขามีรถรบทำด้วยเหล็ก ทั้งที่อยู่ในเบธชานกับชนบทของเมืองนั้น กับที่อยู่ในหุบเขายิสเรเอล"

¹⁶The children of Joseph said, “The hill country is not enough for us. All the Canaanites who dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both those who are in Beth Shean and its towns, and those who are in the valley of Jezreel.”

¹⁷แล้วโยชูวาจึงกล่าวแก่วงศ์วานโยเซฟ คือเอฟราอิมและมนัสเสห์ว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายเป็นพวกที่มีคนมากและมีกำลังมหาศาล ท่านจะมีส่วนแบ่งแต่ส่วนเดียวก็หามิได้

¹⁷Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, “You are a great people, and have great power. You shall not have one lot only;

¹⁸แดนเทือกเขาเหล่านั้นจะเป็นของพวกท่าน ถึงแม้ว่าเป็นป่าดอนท่านจงแผ้วถางและยึดครองไปจนสุดเขตเถิด แม้ว่าคนคานาอันจะมีรถรบทำด้วยเหล็กและเป็นคนเข้มแข็ง ท่านทั้งหลายก็จะขับไล่เขาออกไปได้"

¹⁸but the hill country shall be yours. Although it is a forest, you shall cut it down, and it’s farthest extent shall be yours; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”
