¹ครั้นเอฮูดสิ้นชีวิตแล้ว คนอิสราเอลก็ประพฤติชั่วในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์อีก

¹The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, when Ehud was dead.

²พระเยโฮวาห์จึงทรงขายเขาไว้ในมือของยาบินกษัตริย์เมืองคานาอัน ผู้ครอบครองอยู่ ณ กรุงฮาโซร์ แม่ทัพของท่านชื่อสิเสรา ผู้ซึ่งอาศัยอยู่ที่เมืองฮาโรเชธของคนต่างชาติ

²Yahweh sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

³แล้วคนอิสราเอลก็ร้องทุกข์ถึงพระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะว่ากษัตริย์ยาบินมีรถรบเหล็กเก้าร้อยคัน และได้บีบบังคับคนอิสราเอลอย่างร้ายถึงยี่สิบปี

³The children of Israel cried to Yahweh: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

⁴คราวนั้นผู้พยากรณ์หญิงคนหนึ่งชื่อเดโบราห์ ภรรยาของลัปปิโดท เป็นผู้วินิจฉัยคนอิสราเอลสมัยนั้น

⁴Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

⁵นางเคยนั่งอยู่ใต้ต้นอินทผลัมเดโบราห์ที่อยู่ระหว่างรามาห์และเบธเอลในแดนเทือกเขาเอฟราอิม และคนอิสราเอลก็ขึ้นมาหานางที่นั่นเพื่อให้ชำระความ

⁵She lived under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

⁶นางใช้คนไปเรียกบาราคบุตรชายอาบีโนอัม ให้มาจากเคเดชในนัฟธาลีและกล่าวแก่เขาว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของอิสราเอลมิได้ทรงบัญชาท่านหรือว่า `ไปซิรวบรวมพลไว้ที่ภูเขาทาโบร์ จงเกณฑ์จากคนนัฟทาลีและคนเศบูลุนหนึ่งหมื่นคน

⁶She sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh Naphtali, and said to him, “Hasn’t Yahweh, the God of Israel, commanded, ‘Go and draw to Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

⁷และเราจะชักนำสิเสราแม่ทัพของยาบินให้มาพบกับเจ้าที่แม่น้ำคีโชน พร้อมกับรถรบและกองทหารของเขา และเราจะมอบเขาไว้ในมือของเจ้า'"

⁷I will draw to you, to the river Kishon, Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into your hand.’”

⁸บาราคจึงตอบนางว่า "ถ้าแม้นางไปกับข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าจะไป ถ้าแม้นางไม่ไปกับข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าก็ไม่ไป"

⁸Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go.”

⁹นางจึงตอบว่า "ดิฉันจะไปกับท่านแน่ แต่ว่าทางที่ท่านไปนั้นจะไม่นำท่านไปถึงศักดิ์ศรี เพราะว่าพระเยโฮวาห์จะขายสิเสราไว้ในมือของหญิงคนหนึ่ง" แล้วนางเดโบราห์ก็ลุกขึ้นไปกับบาราคถึงเมืองเคเดช

⁹She said, “I will surely go with you: nevertheless, the journey that you take shall not be for your honor; for Yahweh will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

¹⁰บาราคจึงเรียกเศบูลุนกับนัฟทาลีให้ไปที่เคเดช มีคนหนึ่งหมื่นเดินตามขึ้นไป และนางเดโบราห์ก็ไปด้วย

¹⁰Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh; and there went up ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.

¹¹มีชายคนหนึ่งชื่อเฮเบอร์คนเคไนต์ คือจากลูกหลานของโฮบับพ่อตาของโมเสส ได้แยกออกจากคนเคไนต์ทั้งหลาย มาตั้งเต็นท์อยู่ไกลออกไปถึงที่ราบศานันนิม ซึ่งอยู่ใกล้เมืองเคเดช

¹¹Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, even from the children of Hobab the brother-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far as the oak in Zaanannim, which is by Kedesh.

¹²เมื่อมีคนไปแจ้งแก่สิเสราว่าบาราคบุตรชายอาบีโนอัมขึ้นไปที่ภูเขาทาโบร์แล้ว

¹²They told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to Mount Tabor.

¹³สิเสราก็เรียกรถรบทั้งหมดของท่านออกมา เป็นรถเหล็กเก้าร้อยคัน รวมกับเหล่าทหารทั้งหมดที่ไปด้วย ยกไปจากเมืองฮาโรเชทของคนต่างชาติไปถึงแม่น้ำคีโชน

¹³Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people who were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles, to the river Kishon.

¹⁴นางเดโบราห์จึงกล่าวแก่บาราคว่า "ลุกขึ้นเถิด เพราะว่านี่เป็นวันที่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงมอบสิเสราไว้ในมือของท่าน พระเยโฮวาห์เสด็จนำหน้าท่านไปมิใช่หรือ" บาราคจึงลงไปจากภูเขาทาโบร์พร้อมกับทหารหนึ่งหมื่นคนติดตามท่านไป

¹⁴Deborah said to Barak, “Go; for this is the day in which Yahweh has delivered Sisera into your hand. Hasn’t Yahweh gone out before you?” So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

¹⁵พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงกระทำให้สิเสราพร้อมกับรถรบทั้งสิ้นของท่านและกองทัพทั้งหมดของท่าน แตกตื่นพ่ายแพ้ด้วยคมดาบต่อหน้าบาราค แล้วสิเสราก็ลงจากรถรบวิ่งหนีไป

¹⁵Yahweh confused Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera alighted from his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

¹⁶และบาราคได้ไล่ติดตามรถรบทั้งหลายและกองทัพไปจนถึงฮาโรเชทของคนต่างชาติ และกองทัพทั้งหมดของสิเสราก็ล้มตายด้วยคมดาบ ไม่เหลือสักคนเดียว

¹⁶But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the army, to Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; there was not a man left.

¹⁷ฝ่ายสิเสราวิ่งหนีไปถึงเต็นท์ของยาเอล ภรรยาของเฮเบอร์คนเคไนต์ เพราะว่ายาบินกษัตริย์เมืองฮาโซร์เป็นไมตรีกันกับวงศ์วานเฮเบอร์คนเคไนต์

¹⁷However Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

¹⁸ยาเอลจึงออกไปต้อนรับสิเสรา เรียนว่า "เจ้านายของดิฉันเจ้าข้า เชิญแวะเข้ามา เชิญแวะเข้ามาพักกับดิฉัน อย่ากลัวอะไรเลย" สิเสราจึงแวะเข้าไปในเต็นท์ และนางก็เอาผ้าห่มมาคลุมตัวให้

¹⁸Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; don’t be afraid.” He came in to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.

¹⁹ท่านจึงพูดกับนางว่า "ขอน้ำให้เรากินสักหน่อยเพราะเรากระหายน้ำ" นางก็เปิดถุงน้ำนมให้ท่านดื่ม และเอาผ้าคลุมท่านไว้

¹⁹He said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink; for I am thirsty.” She opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.

²⁰สิเสราจึงบอกแก่นางอีกว่า "ขอยืนเฝ้าที่ประตูเต็นท์ ถ้ามีผู้ใดมาถามว่า `มีใครมาพักที่นี่บ้างหรือ' จงบอกว่า `ไม่มี'"

²⁰He said to her, “Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man comes and inquires of you, and says, ‘Is there any man here?’ that you shall say, ‘No.’”

²¹แต่ยาเอลภรรยาของเฮเบอร์หยิบหลักขึงเต็นท์ ถือค้อนเดินย่องเข้ามา ตอกหลักเข้าที่ขมับของสิเสราทะลุติดดิน ขณะเมื่อสิเสรากำลังหลับสนิทอยู่เพราะความเหน็ดเหนื่อย แล้วสิเสราก็สิ้นชีวิต

²¹Then Jael Heber’s wife took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him, and struck the pin into his temples, and it pierced through into the ground; for he was in a deep sleep; so he swooned and died.

²²และดูเถิด บาราคไล่ติดตามสิเสรามาถึง ยาเอลก็ออกไปต้อนรับเรียนท่านว่า "เชิญเข้ามาเถิด ดิฉันจะชี้ให้ท่านเห็นคนที่ท่านค้นหาอยู่นั้น" พอบาราคก็เข้าไปในเต็นท์แล้ว ดูเถิด สิเสรานอนสิ้นชีวิตอยู่ มีหลักเต็นท์ในขมับ

²²Behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said to him, “Come, and I will show you the man whom you seek.” He came to her; and behold, Sisera lay dead, and the tent peg was in his temples.

²³ดังนี้แหละในววันนั้นพระเจ้าทรงกระทำให้ยาบินกษัตริย์คานาอันนอบน้อมต่อหน้าคนอิสราเอล

²³So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

²⁴และมือของคนอิสราเอลก็กระทำต่อยาบินกษัตริย์เมืองคานาอันหนักขึ้นทุกที จนเขาทั้งหลายได้ทำลายยาบินกษัตริย์เมืองคานาอันเสีย

²⁴The hand of the children of Israel prevailed more and more against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
