¹ในวันนั้นพระเยซูก็เสด็จจากเรือนไปประทับที่ชายทะเลสาบ

¹On that day Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the seaside.

²มีคนพากันมาหาพระองค์มากนัก พระองค์จึงเสด็จลงไปประทับในเรือ และบรรดาคนเหล่านั้นก็ยืนอยู่บนฝั่ง

²Great multitudes gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat, and sat, and all the multitude stood on the beach.

³แล้วพระองค์ก็ตรัสกับเขาหลายประการเป็นคำอุปมาว่า "ดูเถิด มีผู้หว่านคนหนึ่งออกไปหว่านพืช

³He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, a farmer went out to sow.

⁴และเมื่อเขาหว่าน เมล็ดพืชก็ตกตามหนทางบ้าง แล้วนกก็มากินเสีย

⁴ As he sowed, some seeds fell by the roadside, and the birds came and devoured them.

⁵บ้างก็ตกในที่ซึ่งมีพื้นหิน มีเนื้อดินแต่น้อย จึงงอกขึ้นโดยเร็วเพราะดินไม่ลึก

⁵ Others fell on rocky ground, where they didn’t have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of earth.

⁶แต่เมื่อแดดจัดแดดก็แผดเผา เพราะรากไม่มีจึงเหี่ยวไป

⁶ When the sun had risen, they were scorched. Because they had no root, they withered away.

⁷บ้างก็ตกกลางต้นหนาม ต้นหนามก็งอกขึ้นปกคลุมเสีย

⁷ Others fell among thorns. The thorns grew up and choked them.

⁸บ้างก็ตกที่ดินดี แล้วเกิดผล ร้อยเท่าบ้าง หกสิบเท่าบ้าง สามสิบเท่าบ้าง

⁸ Others fell on good soil, and yielded fruit: some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.

⁹ใครมีหูจงฟังเถิด"

⁹ He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

¹⁰ฝ่ายพวกสาวกจึงมาทูลพระองค์ว่า "เหตุไฉนพระองค์ตรัสกับเขาเป็นคำอุปมา"

¹⁰The disciples came, and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”

¹¹พระองค์ตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เพราะว่าข้อความลึกลับของอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์ทรงโปรดให้ท่านทั้งหลายรู้ได้ แต่คนเหล่านั้นไม่โปรดให้รู้

¹¹He answered them, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but it is not given to them.

¹²ด้วยว่าผู้ใดมีอยู่แล้ว จะเพิ่มเติมให้คนนั้นมีเหลือเฟือ แต่ผู้ที่ไม่มีนั้น แม้ว่าซึ่งเขามีอยู่จะต้องเอาไปจากเขา

¹² For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have abundance, but whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he has.

¹³เหตุฉะนั้น เราจึงกล่าวแก่เขาเป็นคำอุปมา เพราะว่าถึงเขาเห็นก็เหมือนไม่เห็น ถึงได้ยินก็เหมือนไม่ได้ยินและไม่เข้าใจ

¹³ Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they don’t see, and hearing, they don’t hear, neither do they understand.

¹⁴ความเป็นอยู่ของเขาก็สำเร็จตามคำพยากรณ์ของอิสยาห์ที่ว่า `พวกเจ้าจะได้ยินก็จริง แต่จะไม่เข้าใจ จะดูก็จริง แต่จะไม่สังเกต

¹⁴ In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says, ‘By hearing you will hear, and will in no way understand; Seeing you will see, and will in no way perceive:

¹⁵เพราะว่าชนชาตินี้กลายเป็นคนมีใจเฉื่อยชา หูก็ตึง และตาเขาเขาก็ปิด เกรงว่าในเวลาใดเขาจะเห็นด้วยตาของเขา และได้ยินด้วยหูของเขา และเข้าใจด้วยจิตใจของเขา และจะหันกลับมา และเราจะได้รักษาเขาให้หาย'

¹⁵ for this people’s heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and should turn again; and I would heal them.’ Isaiah 6:9-10

¹⁶แต่ตาของท่านทั้งหลายก็เป็นสุขเพราะได้เห็น และหูของท่านก็เป็นสุขเพราะได้ยิน

¹⁶ “But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.

¹⁷เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ศาสดาพยากรณ์และผู้ชอบธรรมเป็นอันมากได้ปรารถนาจะเห็นซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายเห็นอยู่นี้ แต่เขามิเคยได้เห็น และอยากจะได้ยินซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายได้ยิน แต่เขาก็มิเคยได้ยิน

¹⁷ For most certainly I tell you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them; and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.

¹⁸เหตุฉะนั้น ท่านทั้งหลายจงฟังคำอุปมาว่าด้วยผู้หว่านพืชนั้น

¹⁸ “Hear, then, the parable of the farmer.

¹⁹เมื่อผู้ใดได้ยินพระวจนะแห่งอาณาจักรแต่ไม่เข้าใจ มารร้ายก็มาฉวยเอาพืชซึ่งหว่านในใจเขานั้นไปเสีย นั่นแหละได้แก่ผู้ซึ่งรับเมล็ดริมหนทาง

¹⁹ When anyone hears the word of the Kingdom, and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown by the roadside.

²⁰และผู้ที่รับเมล็ดซึ่งตกในที่ดินซึ่งมีพื้นหินนั้น ได้แก่บุคคลที่ได้ยินพระวจนะ แล้วก็รับทันทีด้วยความปรีดี

²⁰ What was sown on the rocky places, this is he who hears the word, and immediately with joy receives it;

²¹แต่ไม่มีรากในตัวเองจึงทนอยู่ชั่วคราว และเมื่อเกิดการยากลำบากหรือการข่มเหงต่างๆเพราะพระวจนะนั้น ต่อมาเขาก็เลิกเสีย

²¹ yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.

²²ผู้ที่รับเมล็ดซึ่งตกกลางหนามนั้น ได้แก่บุคคลที่ได้ฟังพระวจนะ แล้วความกังวลตามธรรมดาโลก และการล่อลวงแห่งทรัพย์สมบัติก็รัดพระวจนะนั้นเสีย และเขาจึงไม่เกิดผล

²² What was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

²³ส่วนผู้ที่รับเมล็ดซึ่งตกในดินดีนั้น ได้แก่บุคคลที่ได้ยินพระวจนะและเข้าใจ คนนั้นก็เกิดผลร้อยเท่าบ้าง หกสิบเท่าบ้าง สามสิบเท่าบ้าง"

²³ What was sown on the good ground, this is he who hears the word, and understands it, who most certainly bears fruit, and brings forth, some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.”

²⁴พระองค์ตรัสคำอุปมาอีกข้อหนึ่งให้เขาทั้งหลายฟังว่า "อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนชายคนหนึ่งได้หว่านพืชดีในนาของตน

²⁴He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field,

²⁵แต่เมื่อคนทั้งหลายนอนหลับอยู่ ศัตรูของคนนั้นมาหว่านข้าวละมานปนกับข้าวสาลีนั้นไว้ แล้วก็หลบไป

²⁵ but while people slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel weeds darnel is a weed grass (probably bearded darnel or lolium temulentum) that looks very much like wheat until it is mature, when the difference becomes very apparent. also among the wheat, and went away.

²⁶ครั้นต้นข้าวนั้นงอกขึ้นออกรวงแล้ว ข้าวละมานก็ปรากฏขึ้นด้วย

²⁶ But when the blade sprang up and brought forth fruit, then the darnel weeds appeared also.

²⁷ผู้รับใช้แห่งเจ้าบ้านจึงมาแจ้งแก่นายว่า `นายเจ้าข้า ท่านได้หว่านพืชดีในนาของท่านมิใช่หรือ แต่มีข้าวละมานมาจากไหน'

²⁷ The servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did this darnel come from?’

²⁸นายก็ตอบพวกเขาว่า `นี้เป็นการกระทำของศัตรู' พวกผู้รับใช้จึงถามนายว่า `ท่านปรารถนาจะให้พวกเราไปถอนและเก็บข้าวละมานหรือ'

²⁸ “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them up?’

²⁹แต่นายตอบว่า `อย่าเลย เกลือกว่าเมื่อกำลังถอนข้าวละมานจะถอนข้าวสาลีด้วย

²⁹ “But he said, ‘No, lest perhaps while you gather up the darnel weeds, you root up the wheat with them.

³⁰ให้ทั้งสองจำเริญไปด้วยกันจนถึงฤดูเกี่ยว และในเวลาเกี่ยวนั้นเราจะสั่งผู้เกี่ยวว่า "จงเก็บข้าวละมานก่อนมัดเป็นฟ่อนเผาไฟเสีย แต่ข้าวสาลีนั้นจงเก็บไว้ในยุ้งฉางของเรา"'"

³⁰ Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest time I will tell the reapers, “First, gather up the darnel weeds, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

³¹พระองค์ยังตรัสคำอุปมาอีกข้อหนึ่งให้เขาฟังว่า "อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนเมล็ดพันธุ์ผักกาดเมล็ดหนึ่ง ซึ่งชายคนหนึ่งเอาไปเพาะลงในไร่ของตน

³¹He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field;

³²เมล็ดนั้นเล็กกว่าเมล็ดทั้งปวง แต่เมื่องอกขึ้นแล้วก็ใหญ่กว่าผักอื่น และจำเริญเป็นต้นไม้จนนกในอากาศมาทำรังอาศัยอยู่ตามกิ่งก้านของต้นนั้นได้"

³² which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.”

³³พระองค์ยังตรัสคำอุปมาให้เขาฟังอีกข้อหนึ่งว่า "อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนเชื้อ ซึ่งผู้หญิงคนหนึ่งเอามาเจือลงในแป้งสามถัง จนแป้งนั้นฟูขึ้นทั้งหมด"

³³He spoke another parable to them. “The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast, which a woman took, and hid in three measures literally, three sata. 3 sata is about 39 litres or a bit more than a bushel of meal, until it was all leavened.”

³⁴ข้อความเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้น พระเยซูตรัสกับหมู่ชนเป็นคำอุปมา และนอกจากคำอุปมา พระองค์มิได้ตรัสกับเขาเลย

³⁴Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn’t speak to them,

³⁵ทั้งนี้เพื่อจะให้สำเร็จตามพระวจนะที่ตรัสโดยศาสดาพยากรณ์ว่า `เราจะอ้าปากกล่าวคำอุปมา เราจะกล่าวข้อความซึ่งปิดซ่อนไว้ตั้งแต่เดิมสร้างโลก'

³⁵that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.” Psalm 78:2

³⁶แล้วพระเยซูจึงทรงให้คนเหล่านั้นจากไปและเสด็จเข้าไปในเรือน พวกสาวกของพระองค์ก็มาเฝ้าพระองค์ทูลว่า "ขอพระองค์ทรงโปรดอธิบายให้พวกข้าพระองค์เข้าใจคำอุปมาที่ว่าด้วยข้าวละมานในนานั้น"

³⁶Then Jesus sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.”

³⁷พระองค์ตรัสตอบเขาว่า "ผู้หว่านเมล็ดพืชดีนั้นได้แก่บุตรมนุษย์

³⁷He answered them, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,

³⁸นานั้นได้แก่โลก ส่วนเมล็ดพืชดีได้แก่พลเมืองแห่งอาณาจักร แต่ข้าวละมานได้แก่พลเมืองของมารร้าย

³⁸ the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one.

³⁹ศัตรูผู้หว่านข้าวละมานได้แก่พญามาร ฤดูเกี่ยวได้แก่การสิ้นสุดของโลกนี้ และผู้เกี่ยวนั้นได้แก่พวกทูตสวรรค์

³⁹ The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.

⁴⁰เหตุฉะนั้น เขาเก็บข้าวละมานเผาไฟเสียอย่างไร ในการสิ้นสุดของโลกนี้ก็จะเป็นอย่างนั้น

⁴⁰ As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so will it be at the end of this age.

⁴¹บุตรมนุษย์จะใช้พวกทูตสวรรค์ของท่านออกไปเก็บกวาดทุกสิ่งที่ทำให้หลงผิด และบรรดาผู้ที่ทำความชั่วช้าไปจากอาณาจักรของท่าน

⁴¹ The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity,

⁴²และจะทิ้งลงในเตาไฟอันลุกโพลง ที่นั่นจะมีการร้องไห้ขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟัน

⁴² and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

⁴³คราวนั้นผู้ชอบธรรมจะส่องแสงอยู่ในอาณาจักรพระบิดาของเขาดุจดวงอาทิตย์ ใครมีหูจงฟังเถิด

⁴³ Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

⁴⁴อีกประการหนึ่ง อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนขุมทรัพย์ซ่อนไว้ในทุ่งนา เมื่อมีผู้ใดพบแล้วก็กลับซ่อนเสียอีก และเพราะความปรีดีจึงไปขายสรรพสิ่งซึ่งเขามีอยู่ แล้วไปซื้อทุ่งนานั้น

⁴⁴ “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found, and hid. In his joy, he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.

⁴⁵อีกประการหนึ่ง อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนพ่อค้าที่ไปหาไข่มุกอย่างดี

⁴⁵ “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a merchant seeking fine pearls,

⁴⁶ซึ่งเมื่อได้พบไข่มุกเม็ดหนึ่งมีค่ามาก ก็ไปขายสิ่งสารพัดซึ่งเขามีอยู่ ไปซื้อไข่มุกนั้น

⁴⁶ who having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

⁴⁷อีกประการหนึ่ง อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนอวนที่ลากอยู่ในทะเล ติดปลารวมทุกชนิด

⁴⁷ “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a dragnet, that was cast into the sea, and gathered some fish of every kind,

⁴⁸ซึ่งเมื่อเต็มแล้วเขาก็ลากขึ้นฝั่งนั่งเลือกเอาแต่ที่ดีใส่ตะกร้า แต่ที่ไม่ดีนั้นก็ทิ้งเสีย

⁴⁸ which, when it was filled, they drew up on the beach. They sat down, and gathered the good into containers, but the bad they threw away.

⁴⁹ในการสิ้นสุดของโลกก็จะเป็นอย่างนั้นแหละ พวกทูตสวรรค์จะออกมาแยกคนชั่วออกจากคนชอบธรรม

⁴⁹ So will it be in the end of the world. The angels will come forth, and separate the wicked from among the righteous,

⁵⁰แล้วจะทิ้งลงในเตาไฟอันลุกโพลง ที่นั่นจะมีการร้องไห้ขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟัน"

⁵⁰ and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.”

⁵¹พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "ข้อความเหล่านี้ท่านทั้งหลายเข้าใจแล้วหรือ" เขาทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "เข้าใจ พระเจ้าข้า"

⁵¹Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all these things?” They answered him, “Yes, Lord.”

⁵²ฝ่ายพระองค์ตรัสกับเขาว่า "เพราะฉะนั้นพวกธรรมาจารย์ทุกคนที่ได้เรียนรู้ถึงอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์แล้ว ก็เป็นเหมือนเจ้าของบ้านที่เอาทั้งของใหม่และของเก่าออกจากคลังของตน"

⁵²He said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been made a disciple in the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a householder, who brings out of his treasure new and old things.”

⁵³ต่อมาเมื่อพระเยซูได้ตรัสคำอุปมาเหล่านี้เสร็จแล้ว พระองค์ก็เสด็จไปจากที่นั่น

⁵³It happened that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed from there.

⁵⁴เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จมาถึงตำบลบ้านของพระองค์แล้ว พระองค์ก็สั่งสอนในธรรมศาลาของเขา จนคนทั้งหลายประหลาดใจแล้วพูดกันว่า "คนนี้มีสติปัญญาและการอิทธิฤทธิ์อย่างนี้มาจากไหน

⁵⁴Coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom, and these mighty works?

⁵⁵คนนี้เป็นลูกช่างไม้มิใช่หรือ มารดาของเขาชื่อมารีย์มิใช่หรือ และน้องชายของเขาชื่อยากอบ โยเสส ซีโมน และยูดาสมิใช่หรือ

⁵⁵Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, Joses, Simon, and Judas or, Judah ?

⁵⁶และน้องสาวก็อยู่กับเรามิใช่หรือ เขาได้สิ่งทั้งปวงเหล่านี้มาจากไหน"

⁵⁶Aren’t all of his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all of these things?”

⁵⁷เขาทั้งหลายจึงหมางใจในพระองค์ ฝ่ายพระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "ศาสดาพยากรณ์จะไม่ขาดความนับถือ เว้นแต่ในบ้านเมืองของตน และในครัวเรือนของตน"

⁵⁷They were offended by him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house.”

⁵⁸พระองค์จึงมิได้ทรงกระทำการอิทธิฤทธิ์มากที่นั่น เพราะเขาไม่มีความเชื่อ

⁵⁸He didn’t do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
