¹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสและอาโรนว่า

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

²"ต่อไปนี้เป็นกฎพระราชบัญญัติซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงบัญชาว่า จงบอกคนอิสราเอลให้นำวัวตัวเมียสีแดงไม่พิการซึ่งไม่มีตำหนิ และยังไม่เคยเข้าเทียมแอก

²“This is the statute of the law which Yahweh has commanded: Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no blemish, and which was never yoked.

³และเจ้าจงให้วัวนั้นแก่เอเลอาซาร์ปุโรหิต และให้เอาวัวนั้นไปนอกค่ายฆ่าเสียต่อหน้าเขา

³You shall give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her forth outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face:

⁴และเอเลอาซาร์ปุโรหิตจะเอานิ้วมือจุ่มเลือดวัวพรมที่ข้างหน้าพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุมเจ็ดครั้ง

⁴and Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times.

⁵และให้มีคนเผาวัวตัวเมียนั้นเสียในสายตาของเขา คือเขาจะต้องเผาหนัง เนื้อ และเลือด กับมูลของมันเสียให้หมด

⁵One shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:

⁶และปุโรหิตจะเอาไม้สนสีดาร์ ไม้หุสบกับด้ายสีแดงโยนเข้าไปในไฟที่เผาวัวตัวเมียนั้น

⁶and the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.

⁷แล้วปุโรหิตจะซักเสื้อผ้าของตน และชำระร่างกายเสียในน้ำ ภายหลังจึงเข้าไปในค่ายและปุโรหิตนั้นจึงเป็นมลทินอยู่จนถึงเวลาเย็น

⁷Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the evening.

⁸ผู้ใดที่ทำการเผาวัวตัวเมียต้องซักเสื้อผ้าและชำระร่างกายของตนเสียในน้ำ และเขาจะเป็นมลทินอยู่จนถึงเวลาเย็น

⁸He who burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.

⁹ให้ชายคนที่สะอาดเก็บขี้เถ้าวัวตัวเมียนั้น นำไปไว้นอกค่ายในที่สะอาด และให้เก็บขี้เถ้านั้นไว้ทำเป็นน้ำแห่งการแยกตั้งไว้สำหรับที่ชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลเพื่อเป็นการชำระล้างบาปออกเสีย

⁹“A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water for impurity: it is a sin offering.

¹⁰และคนที่เก็บขี้เถ้าของวัวตัวเมียต้องซักเสื้อผ้าของตน และเขาจะเป็นมลทินอยู่จนถึงเวลาเย็น จะเป็นอย่างนี้แก่คนอิสราเอล และแก่คนต่างด้าวผู้อาศัยอยู่ท่ามกลางเขา เป็นกฎเกณฑ์ถาวร

¹⁰He who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening: and it shall be to the children of Israel, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them, for a statute forever.

¹¹ผู้ที่แตะต้องศพของผู้ใดก็ตามต้องเป็นมลทินอยู่เจ็ดวัน

¹¹“He who touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days:

¹²ในวันที่สามเขาต้องชำระตัวด้วยน้ำ แล้วในวันที่เจ็ดเขาจะสะอาด แต่ถ้าเขาไม่ชำระตัวในวันที่สาม ในวันที่เจ็ดเขาจะสะอาดไม่ได้

¹²the same shall purify himself with water on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he doesn’t purify himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.

¹³ผู้ใดก็ตามแตะต้องคนตาย คือร่างกายของคนที่ตายแล้ว และมิได้ชำระตนให้บริสุทธิ์ ผู้นั้นก็กระทำให้พลับพลาของพระเยโฮวาห์มีมลทิน คนนั้นจะต้องถูกตัดขาดจากอิสราเอล เพราะน้ำแห่งการแยกตั้งไว้ไม่ได้พรมถูกตัวเขา เขาจะเป็นมลทิน มลทินยังค้างอยู่ที่เขา

¹³Whoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and doesn’t purify himself, defiles the tabernacle of Yahweh; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet on him.

¹⁴ต่อไปนี้เป็นพระราชบัญญัติเรื่องคนตายในเต็นท์ ทุกคนที่เข้ามาในเต็นท์ และสารพัดที่อยู่ในเต็นท์ จะเป็นมลทินไปเจ็ดวัน

¹⁴“This is the law when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent, and everyone who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.

¹⁵ภาชนะทุกลูกที่ไม่มีฝาปิดต้องเป็นมลทิน

¹⁵Every open vessel, which has no covering bound on it, is unclean.

¹⁶คนใดที่อยู่ในพื้นทุ่งไปแตะต้องคนที่ถูกดาบตาย หรือแตะต้องศพ หรือกระดูกคน หรือหลุมศพ จะเป็นมลทินไปเจ็ดวัน

¹⁶“Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

¹⁷สำหรับคนที่เป็นมลทินนี้ จงเอาขี้เถ้าจากการเผาวัวตัวเมียในการบูชาไถ่บาป และเอาน้ำที่ไหลเติมเข้าไปปนในภาชนะ

¹⁷“For the unclean they shall take of the ashes of the burning of the sin offering; and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:

¹⁸ให้คนสะอาดเอากิ่งหุสบจุ่มน้ำนั้นประพรมที่เต็นท์และเครื่องใช้สอยทั้งสิ้น และบนตัวคนที่อยู่ที่นั่นและบนตัวคนที่แตะต้องกระดูกหรือคนถูกฆ่าหรือคนตายหรือหลุมศพ

¹⁸and a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, and on all the vessels, and on the persons who were there, and on him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave:

¹⁹ให้คนสะอาดประพรมคนที่เป็นมลทินในวันที่สามและวันที่เจ็ด อย่างนี้พอวันที่เจ็ดเขาจะทำให้คนนั้นสะอาด และเขาต้องซักเสื้อผ้าและอาบน้ำ พอถึงเวลาเย็นเขาจะสะอาด

¹⁹and the clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify him; and he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at evening.

²⁰แต่คนที่เป็นมลทินและไม่ชำระตัวให้บริสุทธิ์ คนนั้นจะต้องถูกตัดขาดจากท่ามกลางที่ชุมนุม เพราะเขาได้กระทำให้สถานบริสุทธิ์ของพระเยโฮวาห์เป็นมลทิน คือว่าน้ำแห่งการแยกตั้งไว้ไม่ได้พรมถูกตัวเขา เขาจึงเป็นมลทิน

²⁰But the man who shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from the midst of the assembly, because he has defiled the sanctuary of Yahweh: the water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him; he is unclean.

²¹และให้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์แก่พวกเขาอยู่เนืองนิตย์ ผู้ที่ประพรมน้ำแห่งการแยกตั้งไว้จะต้องซักเสื้อผ้าของตน และผู้ที่แตะต้องน้ำแห่งการแยกตั้งไว้จะเป็นมลทินจนถึงเวลาเย็น

²¹It shall be a perpetual statute to them: and he who sprinkles the water for impurity shall wash his clothes, and he who touches the water for impurity shall be unclean until evening.

²²และสิ่งใดที่ผู้เป็นมลทินแตะต้อง สิ่งนั้นจะเป็นมลทิน และผู้ที่แตะต้องสิ่งนั้นจะเป็นมลทินจนถึงเวลาเย็น"

²²“Whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and the soul that touches it shall be unclean until evening.”
