¹เมื่อบาลาอัมเห็นว่าพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงพอพระทัยที่จะให้อวยพรแก่อิสราเอล บาลาอัมก็หาได้ไปแสวงหาลางอย่างครั้งก่อนๆไม่ แต่มุ่งหน้าตรงไปยังถิ่นทุรกันดาร

¹When Balaam saw that it pleased Yahweh to bless Israel, he didn’t go, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

²บาลาอัมเงยหน้าดูเห็นอิสราเอลอยู่เป็นค่ายๆตามตระกูล แล้วพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้ามาอยู่บนเขา

²Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.

³เขาจึงกล่าวกลอนภาษิตของเขาว่า "คำพยากรณ์ของบาลาอัมบุตรชายเบโอร์ คำพยากรณ์ของชายที่หูตาแจ้ง

³He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eye was closed says;

⁴คำพยากรณ์ของผู้ที่ได้ยินพระวจนะของพระเจ้า ผู้เห็นนิมิตขององค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ ได้ล้มลงจนเกิดความมึนงง แต่ตาไม่มีสิ่งใดบัง

⁴he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:

⁵โอ ยาโคบเอ๋ย เต็นท์ของท่านช่างงามเหลือเกิน โอ อิสราเอลเอ๋ย ค่ายของท่านก็งาม

⁵How goodly are your tents, Jacob, and your tents, Israel!

⁶เหมือนหุบเขาที่ยืดไปไกล เหมือนสวนซึ่งอยู่ข้างแม่น้ำ เหมือนต้นกฤษณาซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปลูกไว้ เหมือนต้นสนสีดาร์ที่อยู่ข้างลำน้ำ

⁶As valleys they are spread forth, as gardens by the riverside, as aloes which Yahweh has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.

⁷น้ำจะไหลออกจากถังของเขา และเชื้อสายของเขาจะมีอยู่ตามลำน้ำเป็นอันมาก กษัตริย์ของเขาจะสูงกว่ากษัตริย์อากัก ราชอาณาจักรของเขาจะรุ่งเรือง

⁷Water shall flow from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His kingdom shall be exalted.

⁸พระเจ้าผู้ทรงนำเขาออกมาจากอียิปต์ ทรงเป็นเสมือนเขาโคกระทิงเพื่อเขา เขาจะกินประชาชาติซึ่งเป็นศัตรูเสีย และหักกระดูกของศัตรูเหล่านั้น และแทงเขาทั้งหลายทะลุด้วยลูกศร

⁸God brings him out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild ox. He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them with his arrows.

⁹เขาหมอบลงและนอนลงอย่างสิงโต เขาเหมือนสิงโตผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ ใครเล่าจะมาปลุกให้เขาลุกขึ้น ผู้ใดที่อวยพรแก่ท่าน ขอให้เขาได้รับพร ผู้ใดที่แช่งท่าน ขอให้เขาได้รับคำแช่ง"

⁹He couched, he lay down as a lion, as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Everyone who blesses you is blessed. Everyone who curses you is cursed.”

¹⁰บาลาคก็โกรธบาลาอัม จึงตบมือ แล้วบาลาคพูดกับบาลาอัมว่า "เราเชิญท่านมาให้แช่งศัตรูของเรา และดูเถิด ท่านได้อวยพรแก่เขาถึงสามครั้ง

¹⁰Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he struck his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, and, behold, you have altogether blessed them these three times.

¹¹ดังนั้นจงหนีไปยังที่อยู่ของท่านเถิด เราได้กล่าวว่า เราจะให้เกียรติแก่ท่านแน่แท้ แต่ดูเถิด พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงขัดขวางมิให้ท่านได้รับเกียรติ"

¹¹Therefore now flee you to your place! I thought to promote you to great honor; but, behold, Yahweh has kept you back from honor.”

¹²แต่บาลาอัมพูดกับบาลาคว่า "ข้าพเจ้ามิได้บอกผู้สื่อสารซึ่งท่านใช้ให้ไปหาข้าพเจ้านั้นแล้วหรือว่า

¹²Balaam said to Balak, “Didn’t I also tell your messengers who you sent to me, saying,

¹³`แม้ว่าบาลาคจะให้เงินและทองเต็มบ้านเต็มเรือนของเขาแก่ข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าจะกระทำอะไรนอกเหนือพระบัญชาของพระเยโฮวาห์ไม่ได้ ที่จะทำตามใจข้าพเจ้าไม่ว่าดีหรือชั่ว พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสประการใด ข้าพเจ้าจะพูดอย่างนั้น'

¹³‘If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can’t go beyond the word of Yahweh, to do either good or bad of my own mind. I will say what Yahweh says’?

¹⁴ดูเถิด บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้าจะกลับไปสู่ชนชาติของข้าพเจ้า มาเถิด ข้าพเจ้าจะสำแดงให้ท่านทราบว่า ชนชาตินี้จะกระทำประการใดแก่ชนชาติของท่านในวันข้างหน้า"

¹⁴Now, behold, I go to my people: come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.”

¹⁵เขาก็กล่าวกลอนภาษิตของเขาว่า "คำพยากรณ์ของบาลาอัมบุตรชายเบโอร์ คำพยากรณ์ของชายผู้ที่หูตาแจ้ง

¹⁵He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eye was closed says;

¹⁶คำพยากรณ์ของผู้ที่ได้ยินพระวจนะของพระเจ้า และทราบถึงพระปัญญาของพระองค์ผู้สูงสุด ผู้เห็นนิมิตขององค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ ได้ล้มลงจนเกิดความมึนงง แต่ตาไม่มีสิ่งใดบัง

¹⁶he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, and having his eyes open:

¹⁷ข้าพเจ้าจะเห็นเขา แต่ไม่ใช่อย่างเดี๋ยวนี้ ข้าพเจ้าจะดูเขา แต่ไม่ใช่อย่างใกล้ๆนี้ ดาวดวงหนึ่งจะเดินออกมาจากยาโคบ และธารพระกรอันหนึ่งจะขึ้นมาจากอิสราเอล จะตีเขตแดนของโมอับและทำลายบรรดาลูกหลานของเชท

¹⁷I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel, and shall strike through the corners of Moab, and break down all the sons of Sheth.

¹⁸ฝ่ายเอโดมจะตกเป็นของคนอื่น เสอีร์จะตกเป็นของศัตรูของเขาด้วย ฝ่ายอิสราเอลได้แสดงวีรกรรมแล้ว

¹⁸Edom shall be a possession. Seir, his enemies, also shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly.

¹⁹ผู้หนึ่งที่ออกมาจากยาโคบจะครอบครอง และชาวเมืองที่รอดตาย ผู้นั้นจะทำลายเสีย"

¹⁹Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.”

²⁰แล้วบาลาอัมมองดูคนอามาเลข และกล่าวกลอนภาษิตของเขาว่า "อามาเลขเป็นประชาชาติที่หนึ่ง แต่ในที่สุดจะถึงซึ่งการทำลายอันถาวร"

²⁰He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations, But his latter end shall come to destruction.”

²¹และเขามองดูคนเคไนต์ และกล่าวกลอนภาษิตของเขาว่า "ที่อาศัยของท่านเข้มแข็งมาก และรังของท่านก็วางอยู่ในศิลา

²¹He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, “Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.

²²แต่อย่างไรก็ตามคนเคไนต์ก็ต้องถูกกวาดล้าง อีกนานเท่าใดเล่า พวกอัสชูรจะมากวาดเจ้าไปเป็นเชลย"

²²Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, until Asshur carries you away captive.”

²³และบาลาอัมกล่าวกลอนภาษิตของเขาว่า "อนิจจาเอ๋ย เมื่อพระเจ้าทรงกระทำเช่นนี้ใครจะมีชีวิตอยู่ได้

²³He took up his parable, and said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?

²⁴แต่กำปั่นจะมาจากเขตแดนเมืองคิทธิมทำลายอัสชูรและเอเบอร์ และเขาจะถูกทำลายอันถาวรด้วย"

²⁴But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber. He also shall come to destruction.”

²⁵แล้วบาลาอัมก็ลุกขึ้นกลับไปที่อยู่ของเขา และบาลาคก็ไปตามทางของตนด้วย

²⁵Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
