1โมเสสได้พูดกับหัวหน้าตระกูลเกี่ยวกับคนอิสราเอลว่า "นี่เป็นสิ่งที่พระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงบัญชา
1Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, saying, “This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded.
2เมื่อชายผู้ใดปฏิญาณไว้กับพระเยโฮวาห์ หรือให้สัตย์ปฏิญาณผูกมัดตัวไว้ด้วยคำสัญญาวิรัตอย่างหนึ่งอย่างใด อย่าให้เขาเสียวาจา เขาต้องกระทำตามคำที่ออกจากปากของเขาทั้งสิ้น
2When a man vows a vow to Yahweh, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.
3หรือเมื่อสตรีคนหนึ่งคนใดปฏิญาณไว้แด่พระเยโฮวาห์ และผูกมัดตัวเองไว้ด้วยคำสัญญาวิรัต เมื่อเธอยังสาวอยู่ในเรือนของบิดา
3“Also when a woman vows a vow to Yahweh, and binds herself by a bond, being in her father’s house, in her youth,
4และบิดาของเธอได้ยินคำที่เธอปฏิญาณไว้และคำสัญญาวิรัตที่เธอผูกมัดตัวเอง แต่มิได้พูดอะไรกับเธอ ก็ให้คำที่ปฏิญาณไว้นั้นทั้งสิ้นคงอยู่ และให้คำสัญญาวิรัตที่ผูกมัดเธอไว้นั้นทุกอย่างคงอยู่
4and her father hears her vow, and her bond with which she has bound her soul, and her father holds his peace at her; then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she has bound her soul shall stand.
5แต่ถ้าบิดาของเธอคัดค้านในวันที่เขาได้ยินนั้น การที่เธอปฏิญาณไว้ก็ดี คำสัญญาวิรัตที่ผูกมัดเธอไว้ก็ดี ย่อมไม่คงอยู่ และพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงอภัยให้แก่เธอ เพราะบิดาของเธอได้คัดค้านเธอไว้
5But if her father disallow her in the day that he hears, none of her vows, or of her bonds with which she has bound her soul, shall stand: and Yahweh will forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
6และถ้านางแต่งงานมีสามีแล้ว สิ่งที่นางปฏิญาณไว้หรือกล่าวด้วยริมฝีปากที่ไม่ทันคิดซึ่งผูกมัดนาง
6“If she has a husband, while her vows are on her, or the rash utterance of her lips, with which she has bound her soul,
7ฝ่ายสามีก็ได้ยินแล้ว และในวันที่ได้ยินเขาก็มิได้พูดอะไรกับนาง สิ่งที่นางปฏิญาณไว้นั้นและคำสัญญาวิรัตที่ผูกมัดนางย่อมคงอยู่ด้วย
7and her husband hears it, and hold his peace at her in the day that he hears it; then her vows shall stand, and her bonds with which she has bound her soul shall stand.
8แต่ถ้าในวันนั้นที่สามีมาได้ยินนางและเขาคัดค้าน ก็ทำให้คำที่นางปฏิญาณไว้นั้นเป็นโมฆะ ทั้งคำกล่าวด้วยริมฝีปากที่ไม่ทันคิดของนาง ซึ่งผูกมัดนางนั้นก็เป็นโมฆะด้วย และพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงอภัยให้แก่นาง
8But if her husband forbids her in the day that he hears it, then he shall make void her vow which is on her, and the rash utterance of her lips, with which she has bound her soul: and Yahweh will forgive her.
9แต่คำปฏิญาณที่แม่ม่ายหรือแม่ร้างกระทำไว้หรือคำใดที่นางพูดผูกมัดตนเอง คำพูดนั้นย่อมคงอยู่
9“But the vow of a widow, or of her who is divorced, everything with which she has bound her soul, shall stand against her.
10และถ้านางปฏิญาณไว้ในบ้านสามีของนาง หรือให้สัญญาวิรัตด้วยสัตย์ปฏิญาณผูกมัดตนเองไว้
10“If she vowed in her husband’s house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath,
11และสามีของนางได้ยินแล้ว แต่ไม่ว่าอะไรแก่นาง และไม่คัดค้านนาง คำปฏิญาณของนางทั้งสิ้นย่อมคงอยู่ และคำสัญญาวิรัตทุกอย่างซึ่งนางผูกมัดตัวเองย่อมคงอยู่
11and her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and didn’t disallow her; then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she bound her soul shall stand.
12แต่ถ้าสามีของนางได้กระทำให้ไม่คงอยู่หรือเป็นโมฆะในวันที่เขาได้ยินแล้ว สิ่งใดที่ออกจากริมฝีปากของนางเกี่ยวด้วยคำปฏิญาณหรือเกี่ยวด้วยคำสัญญาวิรัตของนางย่อมไม่คงอยู่ สามีของนางได้กระทำให้เป็นโมฆะ และพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงอภัยให้แก่นาง
12But if her husband made them null and void in the day that he heard them, then whatever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband has made them void; and Yahweh will forgive her.
13คำปฏิญาณหรือคำสัตย์ปฏิญาณทั้งสิ้นที่ทำให้นางถ่อมใจเอง สามีของนางย่อมให้คงอยู่หรือให้เป็นโมฆะได้
13Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.
14แต่ถ้าสามีของนางไม่กล่าวสิ่งใดแก่นางวันแล้ววันเล่า เขาย่อมกระทำให้คำปฏิญาณและคำสัญญาวิรัตทั้งสิ้นของนาง ซึ่งจะตกแก่นางให้คงอยู่ เพราะเขาไม่พูดสิ่งใดในวันที่เขาได้ยิน เขาจึงกระทำให้คงอยู่
14But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day, then he establishes all her vows, or all her bonds, which are on her: he has established them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.
15แต่ถ้าภายหลังที่เขาได้ยินแล้วมากระทำให้ไม่คงอยู่หรือเป็นโมฆะ เขาย่อมต้องรับโทษความชั่วช้าของนาง"
15But if he shall make them null and void after that he has heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity.”
16ข้อความเหล่านี้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงบัญชาโมเสสไว้ เป็นเรื่องระหว่างชายกับภรรยาของเขา เรื่องระหว่างบิดากับบุตรสาว ขณะเมื่อเธอยังสาวอยู่ ยังอยู่ในเรือนบิดาของเธอ
16These are the statutes, which Yahweh commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter, being in her youth, in her father’s house.
