¹ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ขอทรงระลึกถึงดาวิดและความลำบากยากเข็ญทั้งสิ้นของท่าน

²ว่า ท่านได้ปฏิญาณต่อพระเยโฮวาห์อย่างไร และได้ปฏิญาณตัวไว้ต่อองค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ของยาโคบว่า

²how he swore to Yahweh, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:

³"แน่นอนข้าพระองค์จะไม่เข้าตัวบ้านหรือขึ้นไปนอนบนที่นอนของตน

³“Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, nor go up into my bed;

⁴ข้าพระองค์จะไม่ให้นัยน์ตาของข้าพระองค์หลับ หรือให้หนังตาเคลิ้มไป

⁴I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids;

⁵จนกว่าข้าพระองค์จะหาสถานที่สำหรับพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ คือที่ประทับของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ของยาโคบ"

⁵until I find out a place for Yahweh, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

⁶Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar:

⁸Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place; you, and the ark of your strength.

⁹Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!”

¹⁰เพราะเห็นแก่ดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ ขออย่าทรงเมินพระพักตร์หนีจากผู้ที่พระองค์ทรงเจิมไว้นั้น

¹⁰For your servant David’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.

¹¹พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปฏิญาณกับดาวิดอันเป็นสัจจะ ซึ่งพระองค์จะไม่ทรงหันกลับคือว่า "เราจะตั้งผลจากตัวของเจ้าไว้บนบัลลังก์ของเจ้า

¹¹Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

¹²ถ้าบรรดาบุตรของเจ้าปฏิบัติตามพันธสัญญาของเรา และบรรดาพระโอวาทของเราซึ่งเราจะสอนเขา เหล่าบุตรของเขาทั้งหลายด้วยเช่นกันจะนั่งบนบัลลังก์ของเจ้าเป็นนิตย์"

¹²If your children will keep my covenant, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forevermore.”

¹³เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเลือกศิโยน พระองค์มีพระประสงค์จะให้เป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์

¹³For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.

¹⁴ตรัสว่า "นี่เป็นที่พำนักของเราเป็นนิตย์ เราจะอยู่ที่นี่ เพราะปรารถนาเช่นนั้น

¹⁴“This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it.

¹⁵เราจะอำนวยพรอย่างมากมายแก่เสบียงของเมืองนี้ เราจะให้คนจนของเมืองนี้อิ่มด้วยขนมปัง

¹⁵I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.

¹⁶เราจะเอาความรอดห่มปุโรหิตของเมืองนั้น และวิสุทธิชนของเมืองนั้นจะโห่ร้องด้วยความชื่นบาน

¹⁶Her priests I will also clothe with salvation. Her saints will shout aloud for joy.

¹⁷ณ ที่นั้นเราจะกระทำให้มีเขาหนึ่งงอกขึ้นมาสำหรับดาวิด เราได้เตรียมประทีปดวงหนึ่งสำหรับผู้รับเจิมของเรา

¹⁷There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

¹⁸เราจะเอาความอายห่มศัตรูของท่าน แต่มงกุฎของท่านจะแวมวามอยู่บนท่าน"

¹⁸I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will be resplendent.”
