¹และในพระหัตถ์เบื้องขวาของพระองค์ผู้ทรงประทับบนพระที่นั่งนั้น ข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นหนังสือม้วนหนึ่งเขียนไว้ทั้งข้างในและข้างนอก มีตราประทับอยู่เจ็ดดวง

¹I saw, in the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written inside and outside, sealed shut with seven seals.

²และข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นทูตสวรรค์ที่มีฤทธิ์องค์หนึ่ง ประกาศด้วยเสียงอันดังว่า "ใครเป็นผู้ที่สมควรจะแกะตราและคลี่หนังสือม้วนนั้นออก"

²I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?”

³และไม่มีผู้ใดในสวรรค์ บนแผ่นดินโลก หรือใต้แผ่นดินที่สามารถคลี่หนังสือม้วนนั้นออก หรือดูหนังสือนั้นได้

³No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book, or to look in it.

⁴และข้าพเจ้าก็ร่ำไห้มากมาย เพราะไม่มีผู้ใดสมควรจะคลี่หนังสือม้วนนั้นออกและอ่านหนังสือนั้น หรือดูหนังสือนั้นได้

⁴And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look in it.

⁵และมีผู้หนึ่งในพวกผู้อาวุโสนั้น บอกแก่ข้าพเจ้าว่า "อย่าร้องไห้เลย ดูเถิด สิงโตแห่งตระกูลยูดาห์ เป็นมูลรากของดาวิด พระองค์ทรงมีชัยแล้ว พระองค์จึงทรงสามารถแกะตราทั้งเจ็ดดวงและคลี่หนังสือม้วนนั้นออกได้"

⁵One of the elders said to me, “Don’t weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome; he who opens the book and its seven seals.”

⁶และในท่ามกลางพระที่นั่งกับสิ่งที่มีชีวิตอยู่ทั้งสี่นั้น และท่ามกลางพวกผู้อาวุโส ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าแลเห็นพระเมษโปดกประทับยืนอยู่ประหนึ่งทรงถูกปลงพระชนม์ ทรงมีเขาเจ็ดเขาและมีตาเจ็ดดวง ซึ่งเป็นพระวิญญาณทั้งเจ็ดของพระเจ้า ที่ทรงส่งออกไปทั่วแผ่นดินโลก

⁶I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.

⁷และพระเมษโปดกนั้นได้เข้ามารับม้วนหนังสือจากพระหัตถ์เบื้องขวาของพระองค์ ผู้ทรงประทับบนพระที่นั่งนั้น

⁷Then he came, and he took it out of the right hand of him who sat on the throne.

⁸เมื่อพระองค์ทรงรับหนังสือม้วนนั้นแล้ว สิ่งที่มีชีวิตอยู่ทั้งสี่กับผู้อาวุโสยี่สิบสี่คนนั้นก็ทรุดตัวลงจำเพาะพระพักตร์พระเมษโปดก ทุกคนถือพิณเขาคู่และถือขันทองคำบรรจุเครื่องหอม ซึ่งเป็นคำอธิษฐานของพวกวิสุทธิชนทั้งปวง

⁸Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

⁹และเขาทั้งหลายก็ร้องเพลงใหม่ ว่าดังนี้ "พระองค์ทรงเป็นผู้ที่สมควรจะทรงรับม้วนหนังสือ และแกะตราม้วนหนังสือนั้นออก เพราะว่าพระองค์ทรงถูกปลงพระชนม์แล้ว และด้วยพระโลหิตของพระองค์นั้น พระองค์ได้ทรงไถ่เราทั้งหลายซึ่งมาจากทุกตระกูล ทุกภาษาทุกชาติและทุกประเทศ ให้ไปถึงพระเจ้า

⁹They sang a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood, out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,

¹⁰พระองค์ได้ทรงโปรดให้เราทั้งหลายเป็นกษัตริย์และเป็นปุโรหิตของพระเจ้าของเรา และเราทั้งหลายจะได้ครอบครองแผ่นดินโลก"

¹⁰and made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign on earth.”

¹¹แล้วข้าพเจ้าก็มองดู และข้าพเจ้าได้ยินเสียงทูตสวรรค์เป็นอันมากนับเป็นโกฏิๆเป็นแสนๆ ซึ่งอยู่ล้อมรอบพระที่นั่งรอบสิ่งที่มีชีวิตอยู่และผู้อาวุโสทั้งหลายนั้น

¹¹I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;

¹²ร้องเสียงดังว่า "พระเมษโปดกผู้ทรงถูกปลงพระชนม์แล้วนั้น เป็นผู้ที่สมควรได้รับฤทธิ์เดช ทรัพย์สมบัติ ปัญญา อานุภาพ เกียรติ สง่าราศี และคำสดุดี"

¹²saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!”

¹³และข้าพเจ้าได้ยินเสียงสิ่งมีชีวิตทั้งหมด ทั้งในสวรรค์ ในแผ่นดินโลก ใต้แผ่นดินโลก ในมหาสมุทร และบรรดาที่อยู่ในที่เหล่านั้น ร้องว่า "ขอให้คำสดุดีและเกียรติ และสง่าราศีและฤทธิ์เดช จงมีแด่พระองค์ผู้ประทับบนพระที่นั่ง และแด่พระเมษโปดกตลอดไปเป็นนิตย์"

¹³I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen! TR omits “Amen!” ”

¹⁴และสิ่งที่มีชีวิตอยู่ทั้งสี่นั้นก็ร้องว่า "เอเมน" และผู้อาวุโสทั้งยี่สิบสี่ก็ทรุดตัวลงนมัสการพระองค์ ผู้ทรงพระชนม์อยู่ตลอดไปเป็นนิตย์
