¹ฝ่ายท่านจงสั่งสอนให้สอดคล้องกับคำสอนอันถูกต้อง

¹But say the things which fit sound doctrine,

²พึงสอนชายที่สูงอายุให้รู้จักประมาณตนในการกินดื่ม ให้เอาจริงเอาจัง ให้มีสติสัมปชัญญะ ให้มีความเชื่อ ความรัก และความอดทนอันถูกต้อง

²that older men should be temperate, sensible, sober minded, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:

³ส่วนผู้หญิงที่สูงอายุก็เหมือนกัน ให้เขามีการประพฤติอย่างบริสุทธิ์ อย่าให้เป็นคนใส่ความเท็จ ไม่เป็นคนดื่มเหล้าองุ่นมาก แต่ให้เป็นผู้สอนสิ่งที่ดีงาม

³and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;

⁴เพื่อเขาจะได้ฝึกสอนพวกผู้หญิงสาวๆให้รู้จักประมาณตนในการกินดื่ม ให้รักสามีและรักบุตรของตน

⁴that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

⁵ให้มีสติสัมปชัญญะ เป็นคนบริสุทธิ์ เอาใจใส่ในบ้านเรือน เป็นคนดี และเชื่อฟังสามีของตน เช่นนี้จึงจะไม่มีผู้ใดลบหลู่พระวจนะของพระเจ้าได้

⁵to be sober minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that God’s word may not be blasphemed.

⁶ส่วนผู้ชายหนุ่มก็เหมือนกัน จงเตือนเขาให้ใช้สติสัมปชัญญะ

⁶Likewise, exhort the younger men to be sober minded;

⁷ท่านจงประพฤติตนให้เป็นแบบอย่างในการดีทุกสิ่ง ในคำสอนจงแสดงความสุจริต ให้เอาจริงเอาจัง ให้จริงใจ

⁷in all things showing yourself an example of good works; in your teaching showing integrity, seriousness, incorruptibility,

⁸และใช้คำพูดอันถูกต้อง ซึ่งไม่มีผู้ใดจะตำหนิได้ เพื่อฝ่ายปฏิปักษ์จะได้อาย ไม่มีสิ่งใดจะติท่านได้

⁸and soundness of speech that can’t be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us.

⁹จงตักเตือนพวกทาสให้เชื่อฟังนายของตน และให้กระทำสิ่งที่ถูกใจนายทุกประการ อย่าให้เถียงเลย

⁹Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting;

¹⁰อย่าให้ยักยอก แต่ให้สัตย์ซื่อหมดทุกอย่าง เพื่อว่าในการทั้งปวงนั้น เขาจะได้เทิดเกียรติพระดำรัสสอนของพระเจ้า ผู้ทรงเป็นพระผู้ช่วยให้รอดของเรา

¹⁰not stealing, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things.

¹¹เพราะว่าพระคุณของพระเจ้าที่นำไปถึงความรอดได้ปรากฏแก่คนทั้งปวงแล้ว

¹¹For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

¹²สอนให้เราละทิ้งความอธรรมและโลกียตัณหา และดำเนินชีวิตในโลกปัจจุบันนี้อย่างมีสติสัมปชัญญะ อย่างชอบธรรม และตามทางพระเจ้า

¹²instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world;

¹³คอยความหวังอันมีสุข และการปรากฏอันทรงสง่าราศีของพระเจ้าใหญ่ยิ่ง และพระเยซูคริสต์พระผู้ช่วยให้รอดของเรา

¹³looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ;

¹⁴ผู้ได้ทรงโปรดประทานพระองค์เองให้เรา เพื่อไถ่เราให้พ้นจากความชั่วช้าทุกอย่าง และทรงชำระเราให้บริสุทธิ์ เพื่อให้เป็นหมู่ชนพิเศษเฉพาะของพระองค์ และเป็นคนที่ขวนขวายกระทำการดี

¹⁴who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.

¹⁵ข้อความเหล่านี้ ท่านจงใช้พูด ตักเตือน และว่ากล่าวเขาด้วยสิทธิอำนาจทุกอย่าง อย่าให้ผู้ใดประมาทท่านได้

¹⁵Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise you.
