¹At sinalita ng Panginoon kay Moises, na sinasabi,

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

²Magsugo ka ng mga lalake na makakapaniktik sa lupain ng Canaan, na aking ibibigay sa mga anak ni Israel: isang lalake sa bawa't isa sa mga lipi ng kanilang mga magulang ay susuguin ninyo, na bawa't isa'y prinsipe sa kanila.

²“Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one a prince among them.”

³At sinugo sila ni Moises mula sa ilang ng Paran ayon sa utos ng Panginoon: silang lahat ay mga lalaking pangulo sa mga anak ni Israel.

³Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of Yahweh: all of them men who were heads of the children of Israel.

⁴At ito ang kanilang mga pangalan: sa lipi ni Ruben, ay si Sammua na anak ni Zaccur.

⁴These were their names: Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.

⁵Sa lipi ni Simeon, ay si Saphat na anak ni Huri.

⁵Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.

⁶Sa lipi ni Juda, ay si Caleb na anak ni Jephone.

⁶Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

⁷Sa lipi ni Issachar, ay si Igal na anak ni Jose.

⁷Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.

⁸Sa lipi ni Efraim, ay si Oseas na anak ni Nun.

⁸Of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun.

⁹Sa lipi ni Benjamin, ay si Palti na anak ni Raphu.

⁹Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.

¹⁰Sa lipi ni Zabulon, ay si Gaddiel na anak ni Sodi.

¹⁰Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.

¹¹Sa lipi ni Jose, sa makatuwid baga'y sa lipi ni Manases, ay si Gaddi na anak ni Susi.

¹¹Of the tribe of Joseph, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi.

¹²Sa lipi ni Dan, ay si Ammiel na anak ni Gemalli.

¹²Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.

¹³Sa lipi ni Aser, ay si Sethur, na anak ni Michael.

¹³Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.

¹⁴Sa lipi ni Nephtali, ay si Nahabi na anak ni Vapsi.

¹⁴Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.

¹⁵Sa lipi ni Gad, ay si Geuel na anak ni Machi.

¹⁵Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.

¹⁶Ito ang mga pangalan ng mga lalake na sinugo ni Moises upang tiktikan ang lupain. At tinawag ni Moises na Josue ang anak ni Nun na si Oseas.

¹⁶These are the names of the men who Moses sent to spy out the land. Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.

¹⁷At sinugo sila ni Moises upang tiktikan ang lupain ng Canaan, at sinabi sa kanila, Sumampa kayo rito sa dakong Timugan at umakyat kayo sa mga bundok:

¹⁷Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill country:

¹⁸At tingnan ninyo ang lupain, kung ano; at ang bayan na tumatahan doon, kung sila'y malakas o mahina, kung sila'y kaunti o marami;

¹⁸and see the land, what it is; and the people who dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;

¹⁹At kung ano ang lupain na kanilang tinatahanan, kung mabuti o masama; at kung ano ang mga bayan na kanilang tinatahanan, kung sa mga kampamento, o sa mga nakukutaan;

¹⁹and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds;

²⁰At kung ano ang lupain, kung mataba o payat, kung mayroong kahoy o wala. At magpakatapang kayo, at magdala kayo rito ng bunga ng lupain. Ngayon ang panahon ay panahon ng mga unang hinog na ubas.

²⁰and what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein, or not. Be courageous, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes.”

²¹Sila nga'y umakyat, at kanilang tiniktikan ang lupain mula sa ilang ng Zin hanggang sa Rehob, sa pagpasok sa Emath.

²¹So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath.

²²At sila'y umakyat sa dakong Timugan, at sila'y dumating sa Hebron; at si Aimen, si Sesai at si Talmai, na mga anak ni Anac, ay nangaroon. (Ngayon ang Hebron ay natayong pitong taon bago ang Zoan sa Egipto).

²²They went up by the South, and came to Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

²³At sila'y dumating sa libis ng Escol, at sila'y pumutol doon ng isang sangang may isang kumpol na ubas, at dinala sa isang pingga ng dalawa; sila'y nagdala rin ng mga granada, at mga igos.

²³They came to the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bore it on a staff between two. They also brought some of the pomegranates and figs.

²⁴Ang dakong yaon ay tinawag na libis ng Escol, dahil sa kumpol na kinitil ng mga anak ni Israel doon.

²⁴That place was called the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children of Israel cut down from there.

²⁵At sila'y nagbalik pagkatiktik sa lupain, sa katapusan ng apat na pung araw.

²⁵They returned from spying out the land at the end of forty days.

²⁶At sila'y nagsiyaon at nagsiparoon kay Moises, at kay Aaron at sa buong kapisanan ng mga anak ni Israel, sa ilang ng Paran, sa Cades; at kanilang binigyang sagot sila, at ang buong kapisanan, at kanilang ipinakita sa kanila ang bunga ng lupain.

²⁶They went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them, and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.

²⁷At kanilang isinaysay sa kaniya, at sinabi, Kami ay dumating sa lupaing yaong pinaparoonan mo sa amin, at tunay na binubukalan ng gatas at pulot; at ito ang bunga niyaon.

²⁷They told him, and said, “We came to the land where you sent us; and surely it flows with milk and honey; and this is its fruit.

²⁸Gayon man ang bayan na tumitira sa lupaing yaon ay malakas, at ang mga bayan ay nakukutaan, at napakalalaki: at saka aming nakita ang mga anak ni Anac doon.

²⁸However the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover, we saw the children of Anak there.

²⁹Si Amalec ay tumatahan sa lupain ng Timugan: at ang Hetheo, at ang Jebuseo, at ang Amorrheo ay tumatahan sa mga bundok: at ang Cananeo ay tumatahan sa tabi ng dagat, at sa mga pangpang ng Jordan.

²⁹Amalek dwells in the land of the South: and the Hittite, and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, dwell in the hill country; and the Canaanite dwells by the sea, and along by the side of the Jordan.”

³⁰At pinatahimik ni Caleb ang bayan sa harapan ni Moises, at sinabi, Ating akyating paminsan, at ating ariin; sapagka't kaya nating lupigin.

³⁰Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”

³¹Nguni't sinabi ng mga lalaking nagsiakyat na kasama niya, Hindi tayo makaaakyat laban sa bayan; sapagka't sila'y malakas kay sa atin.

³¹But the men who went up with him said, “We aren’t able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”

³²At sila'y nagdala ng masamang balita tungkol sa lupaing kanilang tiniktikan, sa mga anak ni Israel, na sinasabi, Ang lupain na aming pinaroonan upang tiktikan ay isang lupain na kinakain ang mga tumatahan doon; at lahat ng bayan na aming nakita roon, ay mga taong malalaki.

³²They brought up an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the children of Israel, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eats up its inhabitants; and all the people who we saw in it are men of great stature.

³³At doo'y aming nakita ang mga Nefilim, ang mga anak ni Anac, na mula sa mga Nefilim: at kami sa aming sariling paningin ay naging parang mga balang, at gayon din kami sa kanilang paningin.

³³There we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come of the Nephilim: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”
