¹But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.

²Çünkü siz de çok iyi bilirsiniz ki, Rab'bin günü, gece hırsız nasıl gelirse öyle gelecektir.

²For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.

³İnsanlar, «Her şey esenlik ve güvenlikte» dedikleri bir anda, gebe kadının sancılarının aniden bastırması gibi, ani bir yıkıma uğrayacak ve asla kaçamayacaklar.

³For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.

⁴Ama kardeşler, siz karanlıkta değilsiniz ki, o gün sizi hırsız gibi yakalasın.

⁴But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.

⁵Siz hepiniz ışığın oğulları, gündüzün oğullarısınız. Geceye ya da karanlığa ait değiliz.

⁵You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,

⁶Öyleyse başkaları gibi uyumayalım, ayık ve uyanık olalım.

⁶so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.

⁷Çünkü uyuyanlar gece uyurlar, sarhoş olanlar da gece sarhoş olurlar.

⁷For those who sleep, sleep in the night, and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.

⁸Gündüze ait olan bizler ise, iman ve sevgi zırhını kuşanıp başımıza miğfer olarak kurtuluş ümidini giyerek ayık kalalım.

⁸But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

⁹Çünkü Tanrı bizi gazaba uğrayalım diye değil, Rabbimiz İsa Mesih aracılığıyla kurtuluşa kavuşalım diye belirledi.

⁹For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁰Mesih bizim için öldü; öyle ki, ister diri ister ölmüş olalım, O'nunla birlikte yaşayalım.

¹⁰who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

¹¹Bunun için şimdi de yaptığınız gibi, birbirinizi yüreklendirip birbirinizi ruhça geliştirin.

¹¹Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.

¹²Kardeşler, aranızda çalışanların, Rab'bin yolunda size önderlik edip öğüt verenlerin değerini bilmenizi rica ederiz.

¹²But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you,

¹³Yaptıkları işten ötürü onlara sonsuz saygı ve sevgi gösterin. Birbirinizle barış içinde yaşayın.

¹³and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

¹⁴Size yalvarırız kardeşler, boş gezenleri uyarın, yüreksizleri cesaretlendirin, güçsüzlere destek olun, herkese karşı sabırlı olun.

¹⁴We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.

¹⁵Sakın kimse kötülüğe kötülükle karşılık vermesin. Birbiriniz ve tüm insanlar için her zaman iyiliği amaç edinin.

¹⁵See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all.

¹⁶Her zaman sevinin.

¹⁶Rejoice always.

¹⁷Durmadan dua edin.

¹⁷Pray without ceasing.

¹⁸Her durumda şükredin. Çünkü Tanrı'nın Mesih İsa'da sizin için istediği budur.

¹⁸In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

¹⁹Ruh'u söndürmeyin.

¹⁹Don’t quench the Spirit.

²⁰Peygamberlik sözlerini küçümsemeyin.

²⁰Don’t despise prophesies.

²¹Her şeyi sınayın. İyi olana sımsıkı tutunun.

²¹Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.

²²Her çeşit kötülükten kaçının.

²²Abstain from every form of evil.

²³Esenlik kaynağı olan Tanrı'nın kendisi, sizi tümüyle kutsal kılsın. Ruhunuz, canınız ve bedeniniz, Rabbimiz İsa Mesih'in gelişinde eksiksiz ve kusursuz bulunmak üzere korunsun.

²³May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁴Sizi çağıran Tanrı güvenilirdir ve bunu yapacaktır.

²⁴He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.

²⁵Kardeşler, bizim için dua edin.

²⁵Brothers, pray for us.
