1Halk, Ginesar gölünün kıyısında duran İsa'nın çevresini sarmış, Tanrı'nın sözünü dinliyordu.
1Now it happened, while the multitude pressed on him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret.
2İsa, gölün kıyısında iki kayık gördü. Balıkçılar kayıklarından inmiş ağlarını yıkıyorlardı.
2He saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3İki kayıktan Simun'a ait olanına binen İsa, ona kıyıdan biraz açılmasını rica etti. Sonra oturdu, kayığın içinden halka ders vermeye devam etti.
3He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.
4Konuşmasını bitirince Simun'a, «Derin sulara açılın, balık tutmak için ağlarınızı salın» dedi.
4When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch.”
5Simun şu karşılığı verdi: «Efendimiz, bütün gece çabaladık, hiçbir şey tutamadık. Yine de senin sözün üzerine ağları salacağım.»
5Simon answered him, “Master, we worked all night, and took nothing; but at your word I will let down the net.”
6Bunu yapınca öyle çok balık yakaladılar ki, ağları yırtılmaya başladı.
6When they had done this, they caught a great multitude of fish, and their net was breaking.
7Öbür kayıktaki ortaklarına işaret vererek gelip yardım etmelerini istediler. Onlar da geldiler ve her iki kayığı balıkla doldurdular; öyle ki, kayıklar az kalsın batıyordu.
7They beckoned to their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. They came, and filled both boats, so that they began to sink.
8Simun Petrus bunu görünce, «Rab, uzaklaş benden, ben günahlı bir adamım» diyerek İsa'nın dizlerine kapandı.
8But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.”
9Kendisi ve yanındakiler, tutmuş oldukları balıkların çokluğuna şaşıp kalmışlardı.
9For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had caught;
10Simun'un ortakları olan Zebedi oğulları Yakup'la Yuhanna'yı da aynı şaşkınlık almıştı. İsa Simun'a, «Korkma» dedi, «bundan böyle balık yerine insan tutacaksın.»
10and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on you will be catching people alive.”
11Sonra onlar kayıkları karaya çektiler ve her şeyi bırakıp İsa'nın ardından gittiler.
11When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything, and followed him.
12İsa kentlerden birindeyken, her yanını cüzam kaplamış bir adamlakarşılaştı. Adam İsa'yı görünce yüzüstü yere kapanıp O'na yalvardı: «Rab, eğer istersen beni temiz kılabilirsin» dedi.
12It happened, while he was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man full of leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and begged him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”
13İsa, elini uzatıp adama dokundu. «İsterim, temiz ol!» dedi. Adam hemen o anda cüzamdan kurtuldu.
13He stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately the leprosy left him.
14İsa ona, bundan hiç kimseye söz etmemesini buyurdu. «Git, kâhine görün ve cüzamdan temizlendiğini herkese kanıtlamak için Musa'nın buyurduğu adakları sun» dedi.
14He commanded him to tell no one, “But go your way, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
15Ne var ki, İsa'yla ilgili haber daha da çok yayıldı. Kalabalık halk toplulukları İsa'yı dinlemek ve hastalıklarından kurtulmak amacıyla akın akın geliyordu.
15But the report concerning him spread much more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
16Kendisi ise ıssız yerlere çekiliyor, dua ediyordu.
16But he withdrew himself into the desert, and prayed.
17Bir gün İsa ders veriyordu. Celile'nin ve Yahudiye'nin bütün köylerinden ve Kudüs'ten gelmiş olan Ferisilerle Kutsal Yasa öğretmenleri O'nun çevresinde oturuyorlardı. İsa, Rab'bin gücü sayesinde hastaları iyileştiriyordu.
17It happened on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal them.
18O sırada birkaç kişi, şilte üzerinde taşıdıkları felçli bir adamı evden içeri sokup İsa'nın önüne koymaya çalışıyorlardı.
18Behold, men brought a paralyzed man on a cot, and they sought to bring him in to lay before Jesus.
19Kalabalıktan ötürü onu içeri sokacak yol bulamayınca dama çıktılar, kiremitleri kaldırıp adamı şilteyle birlikte ortaya, İsa'nın önüne indirdiler.
19Not finding a way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his cot into the midst before Jesus.
20Onların imanını gören İsa, «Dostum, günahların bağışlandı» dedi.
20Seeing their faith, he said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
21Din bilginleriyle Ferisiler, «Tanrı'ya küfreden bu adam kim? Tek Tanrı'dan başka kim günahları bağışlayabilir?» diye düşünmeye başladılar.
21The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”
22Akıllarından geçenleri sezen İsa onlara şöyle seslendi: «Aklınızdan neden böyle şeyler geçiriyorsunuz?
22But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered them, “Why are you reasoning so in your hearts?
23Hangisi daha kolay, `Günahların bağışlandı' demek mi, yoksa `Kalk, yürü' demek mi?
23 Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you;’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk?’
24Ne var ki, İnsanoğlu'nun yeryüzünde günahları bağışlama yetkisine sahip olduğunu bilesiniz diye...» Sonra felçli adama, «Sana söylüyorum, kalk, şilteni toplayıp evine git!» dedi.
24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” (he said to the paralyzed man), “I tell you, arise, and take up your cot, and go to your house.”
25Adam onların gözü önünde hemen ayağa kalktı, üzerinde yattığı şilteyi topladı ve Tanrı'yı yücelterek evine gitti.
25Immediately he rose up before them, and took up that which he was laying on, and departed to his house, glorifying God.
26Herkesi bir şaşkınlık almıştı. Tanrı'yı yüceltiyor, büyük korku içinde, «Bugün şaşılacak işler gördük!» diyorlardı.
26Amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God. They were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today.”
27Bu olaydan sonra İsa dışarı çıktı, vergi toplama kulübesinde oturan Levi adında bir vergi görevlisini gördü. Adama, «Ardımdan gel» dedi.
27After these things he went out, and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office, and said to him, “Follow me!”
28O da kalktı, her şeyi bırakıp İsa'nın ardından gitti.
28He left everything, and rose up and followed him.
29Sonra Levi, evinde İsa'nın onuruna büyük bir şölen verdi. Vergi görevlileri ve daha başka kişilerden oluşan büyük bir kalabalık onlarla birlikte yemeğe oturmuştu.
29Levi made a great feast for him in his house. There was a great crowd of tax collectors and others who were reclining with them.
30Ferisilerle onların din bilginleri söylenmeye başladılar. İsa'nın öğrencilerine, «Siz neden vergi görevlileri ve günahkârlarla birlikte yiyip içiyorsunuz?» dediler.
30Their scribes and the Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”
31İsa onlara şu karşılığı verdi: «Sağlıklı olanların değil,hastaların hekime ihtiyacı var.
31Jesus answered them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.
32Ben doğru kişileri değil, günahkârları tövbeye çağırmaya geldim.»
32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
33Onlar İsa'ya, «Yahya'nın öğrencileri sık sık oruç tutup dua ediyorlar, Ferisilerin öğrencileri de öyle. Seninkiler ise yiyip içiyorlar» dediler.
33They said to him, “Why do John’s disciples often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?”
34İsa şöyle karşılık verdi: «Güvey aralarında olduğu sürece davetlilere hiç oruç tutturabilir misiniz?
34He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
35Ama güveyin aralarından alınacağı günler gelecek, onlar işte o zaman, o günler oruç tutacaklar.»
35 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them. Then they will fast in those days.”
36İsa onlara şu benzetmeyi de anlattı: «Hiç kimse yeni giysiden bir parça yırtıp eski giysiyi yamamaz. Yoksa hem yeni giysi yırtılmış olur, hem de o giysiden koparılan yama eskisine uymaz.
36He also told a parable to them. “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old.
37Hiç kimse yeni şarabı eski tulumlara doldurmaz. Yoksa yeni şarap tulumları patlatır; hem şarap dökülür, hem de tulumlar mahvolur.
37 No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.
38Yeni şarabı yeni tulumlara doldurmak gerek.
38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.
39Üstelik hiç kimse eski şarabı içtikten sonra yenisini istemez. `Eskisi güzel' der.»
39 No man having drunk old wine immediately desires new, for he says, ‘The old is better.’”
