1

1Sura toi ngkai aku' Yakobus, batua Alata'ala pai' batua Pue' Yesus Kristus; kupakatu hi to hampulu' rontina to Israel to pagaa' -gaa' hi humalili' dunia'. Wori' tabe!
1James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are of the Dispersion, greeting.
2Ompi' -ku hawe'ea! Ane wori' nyala kasusaa' pai' pesori to mporumpa' -ta, neo' tapopeda' nono, agina tapokagoe' lau-wadi.
2Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations;
3Apa' ta'inca: ane tida-ta mepangala' hi Pue' hi rala kasusaa', jadi' moroho-ta mpai' mpengkatarii ba napa-napa.
3Knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience.
4Toe pai' kana tari ncuu-ta duu' hi kahudua-na, bona moroho mpu'u pepangala' -ta pai' uma ria kasalaia' -na ba kakuraa' -na.
4And let patience have [its] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.
5Ane ria-ta to uma monoto nono-ta, agina taperapi' kanotoa nono ngkai Alata'ala. Bate nawai' moto-ta mpai' kanotoa nono to taperapi'. Apa' hi butu dua tauna Alata'ala mewai' ngkai kamanara-na, uma-i ria mewai' ngkahuru.
5But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6Aga ane merapi' -ta hi Alata'ala, kana mepangala' mpu'u-ta, uma ma'ala morara' nono-ta. Apa' tauna to morara' nono-na, hewa rauniri to nawaro ngolu' hilou tumai.
6But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.
8Apa' tauna to hewa toe morompenga nono-na, uma ria kanoo-noaa' -na hi rala katuwu' -na. Toe pai' neo' nasarumaka kanarata-na ba napa-napa ngkai Pue'.
7For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord;
9Ompi' hampepangalaa' -ku! Kita' to kabu, kana goe' -ta apa' nau' mpe'ahii' tuwu' -ta, napokalangko moto-ta Alata'ala.
8a doubleminded man, unstable in all his ways.
10Wae wo'o kita' to mo'ua', kana goe' -ta apa' Alata'ala mpakadingki' nono-ta. Apa' manusia' topo'ua' hewa sehe kowo': hangkale'liu-wadi katuwu' -ra.
9But let the brother of low degree glory in his high estate:
11Apa' ane mehupa' -damo eo pai' mokara-pi, kaliliu molaju-mi kowo', alaa-na roda' -mi sehe-na, uma-ipi ncola. Wae wo'o topo'ua' -e: bate mate moto wo'o-ra-rawo bula-ra mpo'urusi-pidi ka'uaa' -ra.
10and the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
12Morasi' tauna to tari hi rala kasusaa' pai' pesori. Apa' ane ntaha-ra, mporata-ra mpai' katuwua' to lompe' to najanci Alata'ala hi tauna to mpoka'ahi' -i.
11For the sun ariseth with the scorching wind, and withereth the grass: and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his goings.
13Ane ria-ta to rasori bona mpobabehi gau' to dada'a, neo' ta'uli' hewa toi: "Pesori toi ngkai Alata'ala." Uma makono toe, apa' Alata'ala uma-i ma'ala rasori bona mpobabehi to dada'a, pai' uma wo'o-i mposori-ta bona mpobabehi-ta to dada'a.
12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which [the Lord] promised to them that love him.
14Butu dua tauna rasori ane kahinaa nono-na moto-hawo to mpodii' -i pai' mpo'opa-i.
13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempteth no man:
15Ane natuku' kahinaa nono-na toe, walikaa-na mpobabehi jeko' lau-imi. Pai' ane mpobabehi jeko' ncuu-i, ka'omea-na mpai' mate-i pai' -i ragaa' ngkai Alata'ala.
14but each man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.
16Ompi' -ku to kupe'ahi'! Neo' -ta ma'ala rabagiu: Alata'ala uma-i-hana mposori-ta.
15Then the lust, when it hath conceived, beareth sin: and the sin, when it is fullgrown, bringeth forth death.
17Hawe'ea pewai' to lompe' pai' to hono' tarata ngkai Alata'ala-hana. Hi'a-mi to mpajadi' hawe'ea anu mehini hi langi'. Hawe'ea to mehini hi langi' toe, ria kabalia' -na. Aga Alata'ala, uma-hana ria kabalia' -na, pai' uma wo'o ria ka'uncua kalompea' -na.
16Be not deceived, my beloved brethren.
18Napohowa' -taka lolita-na to makono, pai' hante lolita-na toe napajadi' -tamo ana' -na. Nababehi toe ntuku' konoa-na moto, bona ngkai hawe'ea to napajadi', kita' jadi' pomobohea-na.
17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.
19Ompi' -ku to kupe'ahi'! Penonoi lompe' -e' tohe'i: Butu dua-ta kana rodo mpe'epei, neo' haliu mololita pai' neo' jolia moroe.
18Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
20Apa' tauna to moroe, uma-ra mpotuku' konoa Alata'ala.
19Ye know [this], my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
21Toe pai' kana tabahaka hawe'ea gau' to babo' pai' po'ingku to dada'a to jadi' kabiasaa-ta, pai' tapakadingki' nono-ta mpe'epei lolita to nahawu' Alata'ala hi rala nono-ta. Apa' lolita-na toe-mi to mobaraka' mpobahaka-ta ngkai huku' jeko' -ta.
20for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
22Jadi', kana tatuku' -mi Lolita Pue', neo' ra'epe mara-wadi. Apa' ane ta'epe mara-wadi, mpobagiu woto-ta moto-tamo.
21Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
23Tauna to mpo'epe Lolita Pue' pai' uma ratuku', hira' hewa tauna to mponaa lence-na hi pampewao'.
22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves.
24Ka'oti-na nanaa lence-na pai' -i malai, uma-pi nakiwoi ba beiwa-ki lence-na.
23For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:
25Toe pai' kana tapoinono lompe' hawa' Pue' pai' tida-ta mpotuku'. Apa' hawa' Pue', moroli' lia, pai' ria kabaraka' -na mpobahaka-ta ngkai jeko'. Jadi', neo' ta'epe mara-wadi, pai' kaliliu talipo'. Kana tatuku' hawa' -na toe. Apa' tauna to hewa toe-mi to nagane' Pue' hi hawe'ea to nababehi.
24for he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
26Ane ria tauna to mpo'uli' topo'agama-i, hiaa' uma najagai wiwi-na, mpobagiu woto-na moto-imi. Uma ria kalaua po'agama-na tetu.
25But he that looketh into the perfect law, the [law] of liberty, and [so] continueth, being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that worketh, this man shall be blessed in his doing.
27Ane po'ingku tauna to mo'agama mpu'u hante uma ria pebagiua-na ba kasalaia' -na hi poncilo Alata'ala to Tuama, hewa toi: mpewili' ana' ilu pai' tobalu to mpe'ahii' tuwu' -ra, pai' neo' mpotuku' gau' -ra to uma mpo'incai Alata'ala.
26If any man thinketh himself to be religious, while he bridleth not his tongue but deceiveth his heart, this man's religion is vain.
27Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
