1Neo' rata-mi eo bohe Paskah. Na'inca Yesus, neo' rata-mi tempo-na mpalahii dunia' pai' hilou nculii' hi Tuama-na. Nape'ahi' -ra to jadi' bagia-na hi dunia' toi, pai' bate napoka'ahi' -ra duu' hi ka'omea-na.
1Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto his Father, having loved his own that were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
2Yesus pai' ana'guru-na ngkoni' -ra ngkabengia. Magau' Anudaa' mpowara' Yudas ana' Simon Iskariot, mpo'usoki-i mpobalu' Yesus hi bali' -na.
2And during supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son], to betray him,
3Na'inca Yesus, Tuama-na mpowai' -i hawe'ea kuasa-na. Na'inca wo'o kangkai Alata'ala-nai, pai' nculii' hilou hi Alata'ala wo'o-i mpai'.
3[Jesus], knowing that the Father had given all the things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and goeth unto God,
4Toe pai' pokore-nami, naroncu baju-na, pai' na'ala' abe' napehoo' hi hope' -na.
4riseth from supper, and layeth aside his garments; and he took a towel, and girded himself.
5Oti toe, na'ala' ue natua hi batili, natepu'u-mi mpobohoi' witi' ana'guru-na, pai' naporihi hante abe' to hi hope' -na.
5Then he poureth water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
6Katelili-na hi Simon Petrus, na'uli' Petrus: "Pue', ncako Iko rahi-di mpobohoi' witi' -kue?"
6So he cometh to Simon Peter. He saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7Na'uli' Yesus: "Tempo toi, ko'ia nu'incai napa to kubabehi toi. Mpeno-damo, pai' lako' nu'inca."
7Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter.
8Na'uli' Petrus: "Neo', Pue'! Neo' mpu'u nubohoi' witi' -ku!" Na'uli' Yesus: "Ane uma-ko kubohoi', uma ria posidaia' -nu hante Aku'."
8Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
9Na'uli' Simon Petrus: "Ane wae-di Pue', neo' muntu' witi' -ku-wadi! Hante pale pai' woo' -ku wo'o."
9Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
10Na'uli' Yesus: "Tauna to lako' oti moniu', uma-pi babo', me'itu' -mi hobo' woto-na, uma-pi mingki' rabohoi' tena. Muntu' witi' -na-damo to kana rabohoi'. Koi', tebohoi' -mokoi, aga uma hawe'ea-ni."
10Jesus saith to him, He that is bathed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
11Yesus mololita hewa toe, apa' na'inca ami' kahema-na mpai' to mpobalu' -i hi bali' -na. Toe pai' na'uli': "Tebohoi' -mokoi, aga uma hawe'ea-ni."
11For he knew him that should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
12Ka'oti-na Yesus mpobohoi' witi' -ra, na'unco' nculii' -mi baju-na, pai' -i mohura, pai' na'uli' -raka: "Ha ni'inca wa napa to lako' kubabehi-kokoie?
12So when he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and sat down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
13Aku', nikio' -a Guru-ni pai' Pue' -ni, pai' bate wae mpu'u.
13Ye call me, Teacher, and, Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14Aku' Pue' pai' Guru-ni mobago hewa hadua batua mpobohoi' witi' -ni. Jadi', koi' wo'o kana momebohoi' ngkawiti'.
14If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
15Kupopohiloi-koi tonco toe we'i, bona nipenau' kehi-ku: hewa Aku' mpotulungi-koi, koi' wo'o kana mpotulungi doo.
15For I have given you an example, that ye also should do as I have done to you.
16"Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: hadua batua uma meliu tuwu' -na ngkai maradika-na. Hadua suro uma meliu tuwu' -na ngkai to mposuro-i.
16Verily, verily, I say unto you, a servant is not greater than his lord; neither one that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17Ane ni'inca-damo tudui' toi, marasi' -koi ane nituku'.
17If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them.
18"Napa to ku'uli' -e we'i, uma mpobelahi-koi omea. Ku'inca ami' hema to kupelihi. Tapi' kana madupa' lolita Buku Tomoroli' to mpo'uli': 'Tauna to mpodulu' -ka, hi'a-mi mpai' to jadi' bali' -ku.'
18I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled: He that eateth my bread lifted up his heel against me.
19Tohe'i ku'uli' ami' -mikokoi kako'ia-na jadi', bona ane madupa' -pi mpai', nipangala' -mi lolita-ku to mpo'uli' kahema-ku.
19From henceforth I tell you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am [he].
20Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: hema to mpotarima suro-ku, hewa Aku' moto-mi to natarima. Wae wo'o, hema to mpotarima-a, hewa Tuama-ku moto-mi to natarima, apa' Hi'a-mi to mposuro-a."
20Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
21Ka'oti-na Yesus mololita hewa toe, susa' -mi nono-na, pai' na'uli': "Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: Hadua ngkai olo' -ni mpai' mpobalu' -a hi bali' -ku."
21When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in the spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22Momenaa-ramo ana'guru-na nakeni ka'ingu' -ra, apa' uma ra'incai kahema-na to natoa'.
22The disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
23Hadua ana'guru-na to nape'ahi', mohura hi ncori-na.
23There was at the table reclining in Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
24Simon Petrus mpokini' mata ana'guru to hadua toei, na'uli' -ki: "Ee, pekune' -i pe' Guru-e, ba hema to natoa' -e."
24Simon Peter therefore beckoneth to him, and saith unto him, Tell [us] who it is of whom he speaketh.
25Toe pai' ana'guru toei mpomohui' Yesus, pai' mpekune' -i: "Hema-i, Pue'?"
25He leaning back, as he was, on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?
26Na'uli' Yesus: "Tauna to kuwai' roti to oti kulolo' hi rala nede', hi'a-mi mpai'." Kana'ala' -nami hampui' roti, nalolo' hi rala nede', pai' nawai' -ki Yudas, ana' Simon Iskariot.
26Jesus therefore answereth, He it is, for whom I shall dip the sop, and give it him. So when he had dipped the sop, he taketh and giveth it to Judas, [the son] of Simon Iscariot.
27Kanadoa-na Yudas roti toe, Magau' Anudaa' mesua' -mi hi rala nono-na. Oti toe, na'uli' Yesus mpo'uli' -ki: "Napa to doko' nubabehi, babehi-mi sohi'."
27And after the sop, then entered Satan into him. Jesus therefore saith unto him, What thou doest, do quickly.
28Ane doo-ra to ngkoni' dohe-ra, uma ra'incai napa pai' Yesus mololita hewa toe hi Yudas.
28Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
29Hantongo' -ra mpo'uli' meka' Yesus mpohubui Yudas mpo'oli ba napa-napa to raparaluu hi posusa' -ra, ba mpowai' doi hi tokabu. Apa' Yudas to ntimamahi doi-ra.
29For some thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus said unto him, Buy what things we have need of for the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
30Kanadoa-na Yudas roti toe, palai-nami hilou hi mali-na. Nto'u toe, mobengi-mi.
30He then having received the sop went out straightway: and it was night.
31Palai-na Yudas ngkai ree, na'uli' -mi Yesus: "Wae lau Aku' Ana' Manusia' rapomobohe. Pai' napa to jadi' hi Aku' mpai' mpomobohe wo'o Alata'ala.
31When therefore he was gone out, Jesus saith, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him;
32Ane napa to jadi' hi Aku' mpomobohe Alata'ala, Alata'ala wo'o mpai' mpomobohe-a hante baraka' -na. Pai' sohi' kadupa' -na.
32and God shall glorify him in himself, and straightway shall he glorify him.
33Ana' -ana' -ku, uma-apa mahae dohe-ni. Nipali' -a mpai', aga hewa to oti ku'uli' -raka topoparenta to Yahudi wengi, wae wo'o ku'uli' -kokoi: Hi kahilouaa-ku uma-koi bisa hilou.
33Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say unto you.
34"Kuwai' -koi hawa' to bo'u: Momepoka'ahi' -mokoi. Hewa Aku' mpoka'ahi' -koi, wae wo'o koi' kana momepoka'ahi' hadua bo hadua.
34A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35Ane momepoka'ahi' -koi, hawe'ea tauna mpo'inca kakoi' -na mpu'u-mi topetuku' -ku."
35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
36Napekune' Simon Petrus hi Yesus: "Hilou hiapa-ko, Pue'?" Na'uli' Yesus: "Hi kahilouaa-ku, ko'ia-ko bisa hilou. Mpeno-damo, nutuku' -a."
36Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered, Whither I go, thou canst not follow now; but thou shalt follow afterwards.
37Na'uli' tena Petrus: "Ha napa pai' uma-a ma'ala mpotuku' -ko wae-e lau Pue'? Ku'agi mate sabana petuku' -ku hi Iko!"
37Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee.
38Na'uli' Yesus: "Ha nu'agi mpu'u mate sabana Aku'? Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: Kako'ia-na manu' turua' mpai', mpolia' tolu ngkani-moko mposapu kanu'inca-ku."
38Jesus answereth, Wilt thou lay down thy life for me? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.
