1Ha uma-a ma'ala mpobabehi napa-napa ntuku' konoa-ku moto? Ha ni'uli' -koina bela-a suro Pue' Yesus? Ha ni'uli' ko'ia ria kuhilo-i Yesus Pue' -ta? Kuhilo mpu'u-imile, pai' napajadi' mpu'u-a suro-nae. Ha koi' -e ompi', ha bela-koi wua' bago-ku to kupobago-ki Pue'?
1Am I not free? am I not an apostle? have I not seen Jesus our Lord? are not *ye* my work in [the] Lord?
2If I am not an apostle to others, yet at any rate I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are *ye* in [the] Lord.
3Hi tauna to doko' mpewulihi' -a kasuro-na Yesus-a, toi-ka tompoi' -ku.
3My defence to those who examine me is this:
4Kai' to jadi' suro Pue' Yesus, ha uma-kai natao mporata pongkoni' -kai ba ponginu-kai ngkai pobago-kai mpokeni Lolita Pue'?
4Have we not a right to eat and to drink?
5Ha uma-kai ma'ala mpotobine hingka to Kristen-kai, pai' kikeni tobine-kai hi pomakoa' -kai, hewa to rababehi suro Pue' Yesus to ntani' -na pai' ompi' -na Pue' Yesus pai' Petrus moto?
5have we not a right to take round a sister [as] wife, as also the other apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
6Ha ni'uli' -koina muntu' Barnabas pai' aku' -wadi to kana mobago mpali' pongkoni' -kai? Ha uma-kai natao mporata gaji' hewa suro Pue' Yesus to ntani' -na?
6Or *I* alone and Barnabas, have we not a right not to work?
7Uma ria tantara to mpogaji' moto woto-na hilou hi panga'ea. Tauna to molia', masipato' mpokoni' wua' polia' -na. Tauna to mpo'ewu bima-na, masipato' mpo'inu susu inewu-na.
7Who ever carries on war at his own charges? who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? or who herds a flock and does not eat of the milk of the flock?
8Napa to ku'uli' toe, lolita rapa' ngkai katuwu' -ta eo-eo-na. Tapi' bate hibalia wo'o-wadi tudui' to tarata hi rala Atura Pue'.
8Do I speak these things as a man, or does not the law also say these things?
9Hi rala Buku Atura Pue' to na'uki' Musa, te'uki' hewa toi: "Japi to rapopobago mpotodu gandum, neo' ramumu' nguju-ra, pelele' moto-ra ngkuku' ngkalako'." Ha japi mpu'u to natoa' Pue' -e?
9For in the law of Moses it is written, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that is treading out corn. Is God occupied about the oxen,
10Ba kita' -di to natoa' rapa' lolita-na toe-e. Lolita to te'uki' owi toe, bate mpobelahi kita'. Tauna to mpobago ba napa-napa, hewa rapa' -na tauna to molia' ba tauna to momanyu, masipato' lia-i ncarumaka mporata bagia ngkai wua' bago-na.
10or does he say [it] altogether for our sakes? For for our sakes it has been written, that the plougher should plough in hope, and he that treads out corn, in hope of partaking of [it].
11Kai' -mi to mpohawu' pongkoni' kao' hi koi' ompi'. Jadi' ane rapa' -na niwai' -kai pongkoni' woto-kai, ha melabi rahi-mi gaji' -kai tetu-e?
11If we have sown to you spiritual things, [is it a] great [thing] if *we* shall reap your carnal things?
12Ane tau ntani' -na ma'ala mposarumaka napa-napa ngkai koi', peliu-liu-nami kai'! Aga tungkai' uma kipake' huraa-kai tetu. Nau' ma'ala moto-kai mperapii' -koi ompi', uma kiperapii' -koi. Kipengkatarii moto wori' nyala kasusaa', apa' ki'uli': nee-neo' mpai' telawa' ohea-ni mpangala' Kareba Kristus to kikeni.
12If others partake of this right over you, should not rather *we*? But we have not used this right, but we bear all things, that we may put no hindrance in the way of the glad tidings of the Christ.
13Ha uma ni'incai ompi' ada agama Yahudi-e: Tauna to mobago hi rala Tomi Alata'ala mporata pongkoni' -ra ngkai Tomi Alata'ala. Imam to mpotunu pepue' ntodea hi lolo meja' pontunua pepue', mporata moto-ra tibo' ngkai pepue' toe.
13Do ye not know that they who labour [at] sacred things eat of the [offerings offered in the] temple; they that attend at the altar partake with the altar?
14Wae wo'o tudui' to tatarima ngkai Pue' Yesus moto. Mohawa' -i bona tauna to mpokeni Kareba Lompe' mporata pongkoni' -ra ngkai tauna to rapongkenii kareba.
14So also the Lord has ordained to those that announce the glad tidings to live of the glad tidings.
15Aga nau' ria moto huraa-ku mperapii' -koi ba napa-napa, uma-a ria mpopake' huraa-ku toe. Pai' neo' ni'uli' wae, kampo'uki' -ku sura tohe'i bona kana niwai' -a ba napa-napa. Uma mpai' hema to mpewuku-a mperapi' gaji' hi koi'! Bohe nono-ku apa' uma bara kuperapii' -koi, pai' kuhurui mate ngkai moronto kabohea nono-ku toi-e.
15But *I* have used none of these things. Now I have not written these things that it should be thus in my case; for [it were] good for me rather to die than that any one should make vain my boast.
16Uma-a ma'ala mpomobohe nono-ku hi pobago-ku mpokeni Kareba Lompe', apa' Alata'ala mpohubui-a mpobago bago toe. Silaka-ada ane uma-a mpokeni Kareba Lompe' -e!
16For if I announce the glad tidings, I have nothing to boast of; for a necessity is laid upon me; for it is woe to me if I should not announce the glad tidings.
17Ane rapa' -na mpokeni-a Kareba Lompe' ngkai kadota-ku moto, toto-na moto-a ncarumaka hiwili-na. Tapi' bela kadota-ku moto pai' -a mpokeni Kareba Lompe'. Dota ba uma dota, bate kana kukeni, apa' toe-mi bago to napopokoloi-ka Alata'ala.
17For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward; but if not of my own will, I am entrusted with an administration.
18Jadi', mpokeni-a Kareba Lompe' pai' uma kuperapi' gaji' hi tauna to kupongkenii kareba. Nau' ria mpu'u huraa-ku mperapi' gaji' hi tauna to kupongkenii kareba, uma kupake' huraa-ku toe. Toe-mile to kuponcawa gaji' -kue: goe' -a mpoparata Kareba Lompe', uma mingki' ra'oli.
18What is the reward then that I have? That in announcing the glad tidings I make the glad tidings costless [to others], so as not to have made use, as belonging to me, of my right in [announcing] the glad tidings.
19Bela-a-kuwo batua-ra ba hema-hema, ma'ala moto-a mpotuku' konoa-ku. Aga nau' wae, tungkai' mengkatuwu' mpobatua-a hi hawe'ea tauna. Kubabehi toe bona kawoo-woria' tauna kukeni mepangala' hi Kristus.
19For being free from all, I have made myself bondman to all, that I might gain the most [possible].
20Ane mpokeni-a Kareba Lompe' hi to Yahudi, mo'ingku hewa to Yahudi-a, bona wori' to Yahudi kukeni hi Kristus. Ane hante tauna to mpotuku' ada Atura Musa-a, aku' wo'o mpotuku' ada Atura Musa. Kakoo-kono-na uma-a nahoo' ada tohe'e, aga kutuku' moto ada toe bula-ku hi laintongo' -ra to mpotuku', bona wori' -ra kukeni hi Kristus.
20And I became to the Jews as a Jew, in order that I might gain the Jews: to those under law, as under law, not being myself under law, in order that I might gain those under law:
21Ane mpokeni-a Kareba Lompe' hi tauna to uma mpo'incai Atura Musa, mo'ingku hewa tauna to uma mpotuku' Atura Musa-a, bona wori' -ra kukeni hi Kristus. Aga neo' ra'uli' wae, uma kutuku' hawa' Alata'ala. Bate mengkoru hi hawa' Kristus oa' -a-kuwo.
21to those without law, as without law, (not as without law to God, but as legitimately subject to Christ,) in order that I might gain [those] without law.
22Ane kupodohe-ra to ko'ia moroho pepangala' -ra, mo'ingku-a hewa hira', bona kutulungi-ra mpotuku' Kristus. Hi hawe'ea tauna tungkai' kubalii' po'ingku-ku, bona ane rii-ria ohea-na kana ma'ala-ra kukeni hi Kristus, nau' ba kampa' hantongo' -ra-wadi.
22I became to the weak, [as] weak, in order that I might gain the weak. To all I have become all things, in order that at all events I might save some.
23Hawe'ea toe kubabehi bona kawoo-woria' tauna to mepangala' hi Kareba Lompe', bona mporata wo'o-a-kuwo kalompea' hante hira'.
23And I do all things for the sake of the glad tidings, that I may be fellow-partaker with them.
24Ompi' -ompi', ha uma ni'incai ane tauna to motanta' mokeno, mokeno omea moto-ra, aga hadua-wadi to mporata parasee. Koi' wo'o ompi' kana mo'ingku-koi hewa tauna to mpohuduwukui mokeno: huduwukui-koi mpotuku' konoa Alata'ala duu' -na mporata-koi parasee-ni.
24Know ye not that they who run in [the] race-course run all, but one receives the prize? Thus run in order that ye may obtain.
25Tauna to motanta' toera, wori' nyala palia-ra, pai' -ra mpengkatarii butu nyala-na, apa' doko' mpu'u-ra mporata parasee. Parasee toe, wunga to molaju-wadi mpai'. Hiaa' kita', tapengkatarii butu nyala-na apa' mehina-ta mporata parasee to tida duu' kahae-hae-na.
25But every one that contends [for a prize] is temperate in all things: *they* then indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown, but *we* an incorruptible.
26Tauna to motanta' mokeno, uma-ra mokeno hinyai', monoa' to ratoa'. Tauna to momejangkuru', uma uli' kadungkua-na pejangkuru' -ra. Wae wo'o aku', aku' ma'ala rarapai' -ki tauna to mokeno ba to mejangkuru', apa' uma-a mo'ingku hinyai'. Napa-napa to kubabehi, kubabehi bona mpotoa' parasee pedagia-ku toe mpai' ria.
26*I* therefore thus run, as not uncertainly; so I combat, as not beating the air.
27Mpolati-a woto-ku, mpokuasai-a konoa-ku moto. Nee-neo' mpai' ka'oti-ku mpopalele Kareba Lompe' hi tau ntani' -na, aku' lau-mi to uma mporatai parasee.
27But I buffet my body, and lead it captive, lest [after] having preached to others I should be myself rejected.
