Uma: New Testament

Darby's Translation

1 Thessalonians

2

1Ni'inca moto ompi' uma-wakai lenge' mara mpokeni Kareba Lompe' hi koi'.
1For ye know yourselves, brethren, our entering in which [we had] to you, that it has not been in vain;
2Kako'ia-kai rata hi ngata-ni retu, rabalinai' pai' raruge' -kai hi ngata Filipi-- ni'inca moto-mi tutura-na ompi'. Aga nau' wori' to mpo'ewa-kai, Alata'ala mporohoi nono-kai bona bia' -kai mpoparata Kareba Lompe' to ngkai Alata'ala hi koi' wo'o.
2but, having suffered before and been insulted, even as ye know, in Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the glad tidings of God with much earnest striving.
3Uma kibawai-koi mpotuku' tudui' to uma makono. Uma wo'o ria patuju nono-kai to dada'a, uma-kai doko' mpobagiu ba hema-hema.
3For our exhortation [was] not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile;
4Uma wo'o-kai mololita mpakagoe' nono manusia' -wadi. Mololita-kai bona mpakagoe' nono Alata'ala, apa' Hi'a-mi to mpoparesa' nono-kai, pai' na'uli' kanatao-kai mpokeni Kareba Lompe' toe.
4but even as we have been approved of God to have the glad tidings entrusted to us, so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who proves our hearts.
5Ni'inca moto ompi', uma-kai ria mololita mpolinuruhi-koi, uma-kai mpolerui patuju to dada'a doko' mporata ba napa-napa ngkai koi'. Alata'ala moto sabi' -kai!
5For we have not at any time been [among you] with flattering discourse, even as ye know, nor with a pretext for covetousness, God [is] witness;
6Uma wo'o-kai mpope'une' hi koi' ba hi tau ntani' -na. Kakoo-kono-na, uma-kai sala' mperapii' -koi ompi', apa' suro-na Kristus mpu'u-kai.
6nor seeking glory from men, neither from you nor from others, when we might have been a charge as Christ's apostles;
7Aga uma kibabehi hewa toe. Bula-kai retu-pidi wengi, mo'alusu' po'ingku-kai, hewa hadua totina mpewili' ana' -na.
7but have been gentle in the midst of you, as a nurse would cherish her own children.
8Kiparata-kokoi Kareba Lompe' ngkai Alata'ala. Pai' meliu ngkai toe, ba tuwu' ba mate-kai, bate sadia-kai mpotulungi-koi, apa' kipoka'ahi' lia-koi.
8Thus, yearning over you, we had found our delight in having imparted to you not only the glad tidings of God, but our own lives also, because ye had become beloved of us.
9Tantu nikiwoi moto ompi' kamowewa-kai wengi mobago, hinamengi hina'eo-kai mpali' pongkoni' -kai, bona neo' -kai mposesei' -koi bula-kai mpotudui' -koi Kareba Lompe' to ngkai Alata'ala.
9For ye remember, brethren, our labour and toil: working night and day, not to be chargeable to any one of you, we have preached to you the glad tidings of God.
10Ni'inca moto kamoroli' po'ingku-kai wengi hi koi' to mepangala' -mi hi Pue' Yesus. Monoa' po'ingku-kai, uma ria kasalaia' -na. Koi' -mi sabi' -kai ompi', hante Alata'ala wo'o.
10*Ye* [are] witnesses, and God, how piously and righteously and blamelessly we have conducted ourselves with you that believe:
11Ni'inca moto pepewili' -kai hi koi' butu dua-ni, hewa hadua tuama mpewili' ana' -ana' -na. Kirohoi pai' ki'apui nono-ni,
11as ye know how, as a father his own children, we used to exhort each one of you, and comfort and testify,
12pai' kiparesai' mpu'u-koi bona po'ingku-ni masipato' hi ntodea-na Alata'ala. Apa' Alata'ala mpokio' -koi jadi' ntodea-na hi rala Kamagaua' -na bona mporata-koi bagia hi rala kabohe tuwu' -na.
12that ye should walk worthy of God, who calls you to his own kingdom and glory.
13Ria-pi hanyala to mpakeni-kai mpo'uli' tarima kasi oa' hi Alata'ala. Apa' kareba to ni'epe ngkai kai' nitarima hewa Lolita Alata'ala mpu'u, uma nitarima hewa lolita manusia' -wadi. Pai' bate wae mpu'u, kareba toe bate Lolita Alata'ala to mobago ncuu hi rala nono-ni to mepangala' hi Pue'.
13And for this cause we also give thanks to God unceasingly that, having received [the] word of [the] report of God by us, ye accepted, not men's word, but, even as it is truly, God's word, which also works in you who believe.
14Ki'inca toe ompi', apa' napa to jadi' hi to Kristen hi tana' Yudea to mepue' hi Alata'ala, wae wo'o to jadi' hi koi'. Koi' rabalinai' hingka ngata-ni moto, wae wo'o ompi' -ta to napobagia Kristus Yesus hi Yudea toera rabalinai' hingka to Yahudi-ra.
14For *ye*, brethren, have become imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judaea in Christ Jesus; for *ye* also have suffered the same things of your own countrymen as also *they* of the Jews,
15To Yahudi toe wo'o-ra-wadi to mpopatehi nabi-nabi owi pai' mpopatehi Pue' Yesus, duu' -na kai' wo'o-mi rabalinai' to Yahudi toera. Me'ewa ncuu-ra hi konoa Alata'ala, pai' jadi' bali' hawe'ea tauna-ramo.
15who have both slain the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and have driven us out by persecution, and do not please God, and [are] against all men,
16Apa' ralawa' -lawa' ncuu ohea-kai bona ngalai' neo' kiparata kareba to mpokeni kalompea' hi tauna to bela-ra to Yahudi Jadi', ngkai hawe'ea gau' -ra to Yahudi toe, melabi rahi-mi jeko' -ra, pai' ka'omea-na mporata-ramo roe Alata'ala.
16forbidding us to speak to the nations that they may be saved, that they may fill up their sins always: but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.
17Ompi' -ompi', ngkai pogaa' -ta to hampai' tohe'i-e, lentora lia-kai mpokalentorai-koi. Nau' mogaa' -ta hi mata, aga kipoimata-mata oa' -koi hi rala nono-kai. Jadi', kipali' -mi ohea-kai tilou mpencuai' -koi.
17But we, brethren, having been bereaved of you and separated for a little moment in person, not in heart, have used more abundant diligence to see your face with much desire;
18Ria mpu'u-mi wengi hawa' -kai ke tilou mpencuai' -koie. Aku' Paulus, ba hangkuja ngkani-ama moliwo tilou, aga Magau' Anudaa' melawa'.
18wherefore we have desired to come to you, even I Paul, both once and twice, and Satan has hindered us.
19Doko' mpu'u-kai mpencuai' -koi, apa' ane rata-ipi mpai' Pue' -ta Pue' Yesus, pai' -ta morumpu hi nyanyoa-na, koi' -mi to jadi' wua' bago-kai to kisarumaka. Nto'u toe mpai', goe' pai' bohe nono-kai sabana koi' ompi'.
19For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of boasting? [are] not *ye* also before our Lord Jesus at his coming?
20Bate koi' -mile kabohea pai' kagoea' nono-kaie!
20for ye are our glory and joy.
