1Ompi' omea, uma mingki' ki'uki' -kokoi ba nto'uma mpu'u eo karataa Pue'.
1But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that ye should be written to,
2Apa' ni'inca moto ompi': hewa karataa topanako ngkabengia, wae wo'o mpai' Eo Karataa Pue', konce mpai' ihi' dunia' nakaratai.
2for ye know perfectly well yourselves, that the day of [the] Lord so comes as a thief by night.
3Rata mpai' tempo-na, tauna mpo'uli': "Lompe' moto katuwu' -ta, uma ria to tapoka'eka'." Ntaa' we'i, nto'u toe-midi kanarumpa' -ra silaka-e! Tohe'e mpai' jadi' ncorobaa, hewa pontodohaka tobine to neo' mo'ana'. Uma ria ohea-ra mpasalewa huku' -ra.
3When they may say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon her that is with child; and they shall in no wise escape.
4Aga koi', ompi', uma-koi hi rala kabengia-na. Uma-koi mpai' konce hi eo karataa Pue' Yesus, hewa hi karataa topanako.
4But *ye*, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief:
5Mobaja-mi nono-ni omea, mo'ingku-koi hewa tauna to momako' hi eo-na. Uma-ta hewa tauna to mpobabehi gau' to dada'a hi rala kabengia-na.
5for all *ye* are sons of light and sons of day; we are not of night nor of darkness.
6Jadi', mo'inga' -inga' -ta pai' mpakanoto nono-ta. Neo' -ta leta' hewa tauna to hi rala kabengia-na-pidi.
6So then do not let us sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober;
7Apa' tauna to turu pai' malangu, turu pai' malangu hi bengi-na.
7for they that sleep sleep by night, and they that drink drink by night;
8Tapi' kita' toi-e, tauna to hi rala kabajaa-na. Toe pai' kana tapakanoto nono-ta. Kana tapomotede' mpu'u pepangala' -ta hi Pue' pai' ahi' -ta hi doo, bona moroho-ta hewa tantara to mpobaju baju ahe'. Kana ncarumaka-ta Alata'ala, kanawai' -nata kalompea' hi eo mpeno-na, bona moroho-ta hewa tantara to mosongkoi songko ahe'.
8but *we* being of [the] day, let us be sober, putting on [the] breastplate of faith and love, and as helmet [the] hope of salvation;
9Kana tapakanoto nono-ta, apa' Alata'ala uma mpelihi-ta bona mporata roe-na. Napelihi-tale bona nahore-ta ngkai huku' jeko' -ta pai' nawai' -ta kalompea' sabana petolo' Pue' -ta Yesus Kristus.
9because God has not set us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10Yesus Kristus mate mpotolo' -ta, bona ane rata-ipi mpai', tuwu' hangkaa-ngkania hante Hi'a-tamo, ba tuwu' -ta-pidi nto'u toe ba mpolia' mate-tamo.
10who has died for us, that whether we may be watching or sleep, we may live together with him.
11Toe-mi ompi', mome'apui-koi, pai' momerohoi mponono-mokoi, hewa to nibabehi-mi toe-e lau.
11Wherefore encourage one another, and build up each one the other, even as also ye do.
12Ompi' -ompi', kiperapi' bona nibila' -ra to mpokamu bago Pue' hi laintongo' -ni, apa' hira' to jadi' totu'a-ni hi rala Pue' pai' to mpoparesai' -koi.
12But we beg you, brethren, to know those who labour among you, and take the lead among you in [the] Lord, and admonish you,
13Bila' pai' pengkorui mpu'u-ra, pai' poka'ahi' -ra sabana pobago-ra toe. Tuwu' hintuwu' hadua bo hadua.
13and to regard them exceedingly in love on account of their work. Be in peace among yourselves.
14Ompi', kiperapi' bona niparesai' -ra-rawo to lose mobago. Apui-ra to mere' nono-ra. Pe'inte' -ra to lente pepangala' -ra. Mosabara hi hawe'ea tauna.
14But we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, sustain the weak, be patient towards all.
15Ane ria to mogau' dada'a hi kita', neo' tapehawai hante gau' to dada'a wo'o. Agina-pi tababehi oa' to lompe' hi doo-ta pai' hi hawe'ea tauna.
15See that no one render to any evil for evil, but pursue always what is good towards one another and towards all;
16Kana goe' ncuu-ta,
16rejoice always;
17tida mosampaya,
17pray unceasingly;
18pai' mpo'uli' tarima kasi hi Alata'ala nau' ba napa to jadi', apa' toe-mi konoa Alata'ala hi kita' to mosidai' hante Kristus Yesus.
18in everything give thanks, for this is [the] will of God in Christ Jesus towards you;
19Neo' nilawa' pobago Inoha' Tomoroli'.
19quench not the Spirit;
20Neo' uma nisaile' lolita tauna ane mpohowa' -ra Lolita Alata'ala.
20do not lightly esteem prophecies;
21Pekiri lompe' butu mela-na, niponciloi ba ngkai Alata'ala mpu'u-di ba bela-di, pai' kakamu to lompe'.
21but prove all things, hold fast the right;
22Pelelii' hawe'ea kehi to dada'a.
22hold aloof from every form of wickedness.
23Mekakae-a hi Alata'ala to mpowai' -ta kalompea' tuwu', kuperapi' bona napakaroli' kehi-ni, duu' -na moroli' mpu'u-koi. Kuperapi' bona napewili' -koi, lompe' woto-ni lompe' nono ba kao' -ni, bona uma ria kasalaia' -ni nau' hangkedi' ane rata nculii' -ipi Pue' -ta Yesus Kristus.
23Now the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly: and your whole spirit, and soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24Alata'ala mpokio' -ta mpotuku' -i. Jadi', Hi'a wo'o-wadi to mpopadupa' hawe'ea tohe'e, apa' napadupa' oa' janci-na.
24He [is] faithful who calls you, who will also perform [it].
25Ompi' -ompi', kiperapi' bona niposampayai wo'o-ka-kaiwo.
25Brethren, pray for us.
26Parata-kaka-kaiwo tabe-kai pai' ahi' -kai hi hawe'ea ompi' hi rala Pue' Yesus to hi retu-ra.
26Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27Hante kuasa to nawai' -ka Pue', kuperapi' bona sura toi nibasa hi nyanyoa hawe'ea ompi' hampepangalaa' to hi retu-ra.
27I adjure you by the Lord that the letter be read to all the [holy] brethren.
28Pue' -ta Yesus Kristus mpogane' -koi.
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you.
