1Ompi' -ompi', ni'inca moto atura topoparenta. Jadi', tantu ni'inca napa to ku'uli' tohe'i: kita' manusia' bate tuwu' hi une' kuasa atura topoparenta bula-ta tuwu' -pidi. Aga ane mate-ta-damo, uma-pi ria kuasa atura toe hi kita'.
1Are ye ignorant, brethren, (for I speak to those knowing law,) that law rules over a man as long as he lives?
2Rapa' -na hadua tobine to motomanei: bula tomane-na tuwu' -pidi, bate tehoo' -i hi tomane-na hante atura poncamoko. Aga ane mate-damo tomane-na, tebahaka-imi ngkai atura to mpohoo' -i hi tomane-na toe.
2For the married woman is bound by law to her husband so long as he is alive; but if the husband should die, she is clear from the law of the husband:
3Jadi', ane rapa' -na tobine toei mpotomane tomane ntani' -na bula tuwu' -pidi tomane-na to lomo' -na, mobualo' hanga' -na. Aga ane mpolia' mate-mi-hawo tomane-na, uma-ipi tehoo' hante atura toe. Nau' ncamoko-i hante tomane ntani' -na, uma-i-hawo rahanga' topobualo'.
3so then, the husband being alive, she shall be called an adulteress if she be to another man; but if the husband should die, she is free from the law, so as not to be an adulteress, though she be to another man.
4Wae wo'o hante kita' ompi'. Ri'ulu tehoo' -ta hi Atura Pue'. Tapi' mate-tamo hangkaa-ngkania hante woto Kristus alaa-na mogaa' -mi posidaia' -ta hante Atura Pue', uma-pi ria kuasa atura toe hi kita'. Pai' hewa toe lau, mosidai' -tamo hi kahadua-na, Hi'a-mi Kristus to tuwu' nculii' ngkai kamatea. Ngkai posidaia' -ta hante Kristus toe, kita' jadi' mokalaua hi Alata'ala.
4So that, my brethren, *ye* also have been made dead to the law by the body of the Christ, to be to another, who has been raised up from among [the] dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.
5Ri'ulu, kako'ia-ta mepangala' hi Yesus, ria kahinaa nono-ta doko' mpobabehi to dada'a. Napa to ratagi-taka hi rala Atura Pue', toe lau-mi to doko' tababehi-e. Toe pai' hi rala katuwu' -ta to ri'ulu tapake' woto-ta mpobabehi jeko', alaa-na masipato' -ta rahuku' mate pai' ragaa' ngkai Alata'ala.
5For when we were in the flesh the passions of sins, which [were] by the law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit to death;
6Aga hewa toe lau, tebahaka-tamo ngkai Atura Pue' to mpohoo' -ta ri'ulu toe, apa' mate-tamo hangkaa-ngkania hante Kristus. Jadi', uma-tapa mpotuku' ohea to hae: uma-tapa mpotuku' atura-atura to te'uki'. Hewa toe lau mpotuku' ohea to bo'u-tamo: mpotuku' -ta konoa Alata'ala ngkai baraka' Inoha' Tomoroli'.
6but now we are clear from the law, having died in that in which we were held, so that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of letter.
7Ta'uli' we'i Kristus mpobahaka-ta ngkai Atura Pue'. Aga neo' ta'uli' hewa toi: dada'a-hana Atura Pue'. Uma makono lolita toe! Atura Pue' lompe', apa' ngkai Atura Pue' toe ta'inca napa to rahanga' jeko'. Ane rapa' -na uma ria parenta to mpo'uli': "Neo' mpokahina anu doo," ke uma-hawo ku'incai kadada'a-na hina to hi rala nono-ku.
7What shall we say then? [is] the law sin? Far be the thought. But I had not known sin, unless by law: for I had not had conscience also of lust unless the law had said, Thou shalt not lust;
8Aga kampo'epe-ku Atura Pue' to mpo'uli': "Neo' mehina," mologa-mi jeko' mobago hi rala nono-ku, alaa-na kamehii-hinaa lau-ama. Ane rapa' -na uma ria Atura Pue' to mpotudo' jeko' -ku, ke uma ria kuasa jeko' hi rala nono-ku.
8but sin, getting a point of attack by the commandment, wrought in me every lust; for without law sin [was] dead.
9Ri'ulu kako'ia-na ku'incai Atura Pue', ku'uli' lompe' moto katuwu' -ku. Ntaa' we'i, kampo'epe-ku Atura Pue', mehupa' lau-mi jeko' to hi rala nono-ku,
9But *I* was alive without law once; but the commandment having come, sin revived, but *I* died.
10pai' masipato' -a rahuku' mate pai' ragaa' ngkai Alata'ala. Kakono-na, patuju-na Atura Pue' bona mporata-a katuwua' to lompe'. Ntaa' we'i, kampo'inca-ku Atura Pue' toe, mojeko' lau-ama alaa-na masipato' -a rahuku' mate pai' ragaa' ngkai Alata'ala.
10And the commandment, which [was] for life, was found, [as] to me, itself [to be] unto death:
11Kampo'epe-ku Atura Pue', mologa lau-mi jeko' mobago hi rala nono-ku. Ma'ala ta'uli' hewa toi: ngkai Atura Pue' toe, napahala'nawu' jeko' lau-ama, alaa-na masipato' -a rahuku' mate pai' ragaa' ngkai Alata'ala.
11for sin, getting a point of attack by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew [me].
12Jadi', Atura Pue' moroli', pai' parenta Pue' bate moroli', monoa' pai' lompe'.
12So that the law indeed [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13Aga neo' ta'uli' hewa toi: ha Atura Pue' to lompe' toe-mi pai' alaa-na mate-a pai' ragaa' ngkai Alata'ala? Tantu uma. Tapi' Atura Pue' toe napo'ohea jeko' mpokeni kamatea hi aku' pai' mpogaa' -a ngkai Alata'ala. Ngkai Atura Pue' to lompe' toe, lonto' -mi jeko' to hi rala nono-ku, pai' lonto' -mi kadada'a-na jeko'.
13Did then that which is good become death to me? Far be the thought. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death to me by that which is good; in order that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
14Ta'inca moto ompi', Atura Pue' bate lompe' apa' ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli' -i. Tapi' aku' toi-e, manusia' to lente-a, apa' napobatua jeko' -a-hana.
14For we know that the law is spiritual: but *I* am fleshly, sold under sin.
15Uma ku'incai kalaua-na kehi-ku toi. Po'ingku to lompe' to doko' kubabehi, uma lau kubabehi. Po'ingku to kupokahuku' -e, toe lau-di to kubabehi!
15For that which I do, I do not own: for not what I will, this I do; but what I hate, this I practise.
16Tapi' ane kubabehi po'ingku to uma kupokonoi, batua-na kupangaku' kalompe' -na Atura Pue'.
16But if what I do not will, this I practise, I consent to the law that [it is] right.
17Jadi', hewa to bela-hawo aku' mpu'u to mpobabehi po'ingku to dada'a toe. Jeko' to ria ami' hi rala nono-ku, hi'a-mi pue' bago.
17Now then [it is] no longer *I* [that] do it, but the sin that dwells in me.
18Apa' ku'inca moto-le, uma ria to lompe' hi rala nono-ku, aku' toi manusia' topojeko'. Dota moto-a mpobabehi po'ingku to lompe', aga uma kukulei' mpobabehi.
18For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, good does not dwell: for to will is there with me, but to do right [I find] not.
19Uma kubabehi po'ingku to lompe' hewa to kupokono. To ntora kubabehi-e, po'ingku to dada'a to uma kupokonoi.
19For I do not practise the good that I will; but the evil I do not will, that I do.
20Tapi' ane kubabehi po'ingku to uma kupokonoi, batua-na bela aku' to mpobabehi tetu. Jeko' to hi rala nono-ku, hi'a-mi pue' bago.
20But if what *I* do not will, this I practise, [it is] no longer *I* [that] do it, but the sin that dwells in me.
21Toe-toe oa' to jadi' hi rala katuwu' -ku: dota-a mpobabehi po'ingku to lompe', hiaa' to dada'a ria ami' -mi hi rala nono-ku.
21I find then the law upon *me* who will to practise what is right, that with *me* evil is there.
22Hi rala nono-ku kupokono Atura Pue' Ala.
22For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man:
23Tapi' uma lau-di kutuku' Atura Pue' toe-e, apa' ria kuasa ntani' -na hi rala katuwu' -ku to mpodagi-a. Hi rala nono-ku dota mpu'u-a mpotuku' Atura Pue', tapi' kuasa jeko' to hi rala katuwu' -ku mosisala hante kadota nono-ku toe, alaa-na nadagi jeko' -ama.
23but I see another law in my members, warring in opposition to the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which exists in my members.
24Aku' manusia' to silaka mpu'u toi-e! Hema-mi-kuwo to mpobahaka-a ngkai woto to mpokeni kamatea toi-e?
24O wretched man that I [am]! who shall deliver me out of this body of death?
25Tarima kasi ku'uli' hi Alata'ala! Hi'a-mi to mpobahaka-a, hante petauntongoi' -na Yesus Kristus, Pue' -ta. Jadi', hi rala nono-ku dota-a mpotuku' Atura Pue' Ala. Tapi' bate nakuasai jeko' oa' -a sabana kahinaa nono-ku to dada'a.
25I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then *I* *myself* with the mind serve God's law; but with the flesh sin's law.
