1Ompi' -ompi', kiwoi-koi napa to majadi' hi ntu'a-ta owi to nakeni nabi Musa malai ngkai tana' Mesir. Hawe'ea-ra nakamoui limu' tanda karia-na Alata'ala dohe-ra. Hawe'ea-ra ntara hi tahi' to sole.
1Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2Ma'ala-mi ta'uli': hewa kita' raniu' jadi' topetuku' Pue' Yesus, wae wo'o hira' omea nakamoui limu' pai' ntara hi tahi' to sole jadi' topetuku' -na Musa.
2and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
4Hawe'ea-ra mpokoni' pongkoni' to hibalia, pai' nginu-ra ponginu to hibalia. Pongkoni' pai' ponginu-ra toe, pongkoni' pai' ponginu ngkai Alata'ala moto. Nginu-ra ue to mehupa' ngkai bulu' watu, pai' bulu' watu toe ma'ala rarapai' -ki Kristus to mpodoo-ra pai' mpowai' -ra katuwua'.
3and all ate the same spiritual food;
5Aga nau' hawe'ea-ra mporata rasi' ngkai Alata'ala toe, wori' -ramo to uma napokonoi Alata'ala gau' -ra. Toe pai' mate mparadolea-ra hi papada to wao'.
4and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.
6Hawe'ea to jadi' hi to Yahudi toe owi, jadi' bona kita' mporata tudui'. Patuju-na bona neo' -ta mpokahina to dada'a hewa hira' owi.
5However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
7Neo' mepue' hi pinotau, hewa ria-ra hantongo' to mpobabehi. Hewa to te'uki' hi rala Buku Tomoroli': "Mohura-ramo ngkoni' pai' nginu, pai' oti toe ntepu'u-ramo motaro' mpopue' pinotau."
6Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
8Neo' -ta mogau' sala' hante tobine doo ba hante toronaa, hewa ria-ra hantongo' to mpobabehi. Ngkai pogau' sala' -ra tohe'e, mate-ra rompulu' tolu ncobu rala-na ha'eo.
7Neither be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” Exodus 32:6
9Neo' -ta mpemai-mai roe Pue', hewa ria-ra hantongo' to mpobabehi, alaa-ra mate natilo' ule.
8Neither let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.
10Pai' neo' ngkunuti, hewa ria-ra hantongo' to mpobabehi, pai' alaa-ra mate napatehi mala'eka topepatehi.
9Neither let us test the Lord, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.
11Hawe'ea toe jadi' hi hira' owi bona tapotonco kita'. Pai' hawe'ea kajadia' toe, te'uki' bona mpopo'ingai' -ta. Apa' kita' toi, tuwu' mohu' tempo kahudua dunia' -tamo.
10Neither grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.
12Jadi', tauna to mpo'uli' moroho moto pepangala' -ra, pelompehi mpu'u-e', nee-neo' mpai' monawu' -ra hi rala jeko' hewa hira' owi!
11Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.
13Butu nyala pesori to mporumpa' -ta, pesori to biasa jadi' hi manusia'. Tapi' Alata'ala ngkiwoi oa' janci-na hi kita': uma-ta napelele' rasori meliu ngkai pakulea' -ta. Nto'u-ta narumpa' pesori, nawai' oa' -ta ohea mpetiboi' pesori toe, bona moroho-ta mpengkatarii.
12Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall.
14Toe-mi ompi' -ompi' to kupe'ahi', neo' mpu'u-koi mpotuku' ada mpepue' hi pinotau!
13No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
15Mololita-a toi hewa mpololitai tauna to monoto nono-ra. Niwile koi' -damo lolita-ku tohe'i ba makono ba uma-di.
14Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
16Ane mpo'inu-ta anggur mpokiwoi raa' Kristus to rabowo hi kaju parika', mpo'uli' -ta tarima kasi hi Pue' Alata'ala, pai' ta'inu hangkaa-ngkania. Ha uma toe-mi tanda kakita' -na ntodea-na Kristus to natolo' hante kamate-nae? Pai' ane mpobagi-ta roti takoni' hangkaa-ngkania mpokiwoi kamate-na Kristus hi kaju parika', ha uma toe-mi tanda kakita' -na bagia-bagia hi rala woto Kristus-e?
15I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say.
17Apa' roti to hameha' lau-wadi rabagi-bagi, pai' kita' omea hore-hore mpokoni' hampobagia ngkai roti toe. Batua-na ada toe: kita' to wori' hewa hawoto lau-ta-wadi hi posidaia' -ta hante Kristus.
16The cup of blessing which we bless, isn’t it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn’t it a sharing of the body of Christ?
18Wae wo'o ada-ra to Israel. Ane ria to mpotonu pepue' -ra hi Alata'ala hi lolo meja' pontunua pepue', pai' -ra mpokio' doo-ra mpodohei-ra mpokoni' hampobagia ngkai pepue' toe, hintuwu' -ramo hi ada pepue' -ra hi Pue' Ala.
17Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.
19Aga uma ku'uli' wae, karia-na mpu'u pue' ntani' -na ngkai Pue' Ala. Uma! Pai' pongkoni' to rapopepue' hi pinotau, uma wo'o moapa takoni'.
18Consider Israel according to the flesh. Don’t those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?
20Patuju-ku: ba napa to rapopepue' hi pinotau, uma-di rapopepue' hi Alata'ala, rapopepue' hi seta-di-rana. Pai' uma kupokonoi ane nidohei-ra to mepue' hi seta.
19What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
21Ane nginu-ta anggur hi pepue' -ta hi Pue' Yesus, uma-ta ma'ala nginu wo'o anggur dohe-ra to mepue' hi seta. Uma-ta ma'ala ngkoni' roti mpokiwoi kamate-na Pue', pai' ngkoni' wo'o dohe-ra to mepue' hi seta. Jadi' uma mpu'u natao ane mesua' -ta hi rala tomi pepuea' hi pinotau pai' ngkoni' dohe-ra to mepue' hi pinotau.
20But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons.
22Ha ni'uli' -koina uma moapa ane tadohei-ra to mepue' hi pinotau mpemai-mai roe-na Pue'? Ha ni'uli' -koina meliu karoho-ta ngkai Pue'?
21You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
22Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
24Neo' tababehi to mpotulungi woto-ta moto-wadi. Tababehi wo'o to mpotulungi doo.
23“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up.
25Napa-napa to rapobalu' hi pasar, ma'ala moto ta'oli pai' takoni'. Uma mingki' tapekune' ncala' ba to rapopepue' hi pinotau ba uma-di. Ma'ala takoni' hante uma morara' nono-ta,
24Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.
26apa' "Dunia' tohe'i pai' hawe'ea ihi' -na, Pue' Ala-hana pue' -na."
25Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,
27Ane ria-koi to rakio' doo-ni to bela-ra to Kristen hilou ngkoni' hi tomi-ra, pai' dota-koi hilou, koni' -mi-hana napa to ratonu-kokoi. Neo' leba' nipekune' ba bau' to rapopepue' hi pinotau tohe'e ba bela-di.
26for “the earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.” Psalm 24:1
28Aga ane ria to mpo'uli' -taka: "Bau' tohe'i-le, to rapopepue' hi pinotau," agina neo' takoni' apa' mpenonoi doo-ta to mpo'uli' -taka toe, meka' ba napopeda' nono mpai' ane takoni'.
27But if one of those who don’t believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.
29To ku'uli' tohe'i, agina neo' takoni' apa' mpenonoi nono doo-ta. Ane nono-ta moto, uma moapa ane takoni'. Hiaa' tantu ria mpai' to mpo'uli': "Ha napa pai' konoa-ku ma'ala nalawa' tau ntani' -na?
28But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” don’t eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”
30Ane kukoni' bau' toe, pai' mpo'uli' tarima kasi moto-a hi Alata'ala, ha napa-hana pai' tau ntani' -na mporuge' -a!"
29Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other’s conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?
31Aga aku' mpo'uli': ane ngkoni' ba nginu-ta, ba napa-napa to tababehi, babehi-mi-hana bona Alata'ala rapomobohe.
30If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for that for which I give thanks?
32Neo' mpobabehi napa-napa to mpopanawu' doo, ba to Yahudi-ra ba bela-ra to Yahudi ba hingka doo-ta to Kristen to napobagia Alata'ala.
31Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
33Hewa aku' wo'o-kuwo, hi butu nyala-na kubabehi oa' napa to lompe' hi poncilo hawe'ea tauna. Uma kubabehi to mokalaua hi woto-ku moto-wadi. Kubabehi napa to mokalaua hi doo bona tehore-ra ngkai huku' jeko' -ra.
32Give no occasions for stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the assembly of God;
33even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.
