1Uma mowo kabohe ahi' -na Alata'ala to Tuama hi kita', duu' -na nakahangai' -tamo ana' -na. Pai' bate wae mpu'u. Ana' Alata'ala mpu'u-tamo. Tauna to uma mepangala' hi Yesus uma mpo'incai kakita' -na ana' Alata'ala, apa' uma-ra mpo'incai Alata'ala.
1Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
2Ompi' -ompi' to kupe'ahi'! Tempo toi, ana' Alata'ala-tamo. Ko'ia ta'incai mpu'u kabeiwa-na mpai' katuwu' -ta hi eo mpeno, apa' ko'ia-ta rapopo'incai. Aga to ta'inca-na: ane rata nculii' -i-damo mpai' Kristus-e, hewa Hi'a wo'o-tamo-tawo, apa' bate lence-na mpu'u-mi mpai' to tahilo.
2Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.
3Hawe'ea tauna to ncarumaka Kristus hewa toe, bate mpakaroli' katuwu' -ra, hewa kamoroli' -na Kristus.
3Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4Hawe'ea tauna to mpobabehi jeko', mpotiboki hawa' Alata'ala. Apa' toe-mi to rahanga' jeko', mpotiboki hawa' Alata'ala.
4Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
5Pai' ni'inca moto ompi', patuju-na Yesus mehupa' hi dunia', bona mpolali jeko' manusia'. Hiaa' Hi'a moto, uma-hana ria jeko' -na.
5You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.
6Jadi', hawe'ea tauna to tida hintuwu' hante Hi'a, uma-rapa mpobabehi jeko'. Hawe'ea tauna to mpobabehi jeko' oa', uma-ra mpohiloi-i pai' uma-ra mpo'incai-i.
6Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin. Whoever sins hasn’t seen him, neither knows him.
7Ana' -ana' -ku, neo' nipelele' -ra ba hema-hema to doko' mpobagiu-koi. Tauna to mpobabehi konoa Alata'ala, tauna to monoa' -ra, hewa kamonoa' -na Yesus.
7Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8Tauna to mpobabehi jeko' oa', napo'ana' Magau' Anudaa' -ra. Apa' Magau' Anudaa', topojeko' ngkai lomo' -na ami' -imi-hana. Toi-mi patuju-na Ana' Alata'ala mehupa' hi dunia', bona mpogero bago-na Magau' Anudaa'.
8He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9Hawe'ea tauna to napo'ana' Alata'ala, uma-rapa mpobabehi jeko' oa', apa' mporata-ramo katuwua' to bo'u ngkai Alata'ala. Uma-ra bisa mpobabehi jeko' oa', apa' napo'ana' Alata'ala-ramo.
9Whoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can’t sin, because he is born of God.
10Toi-mi pompetonoi-na, bona ta'inca hema to napo'ana' Alata'ala pai' hema to napo'ana' Magau' Anudaa'. Hawe'ea tauna to uma mpobabehi konoa Alata'ala, bela-ra ana' Alata'ala. Wae wo'o tauna to uma mpoka'ahi' ompi' -ra, bela-ra ana' Alata'ala.
10In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn’t do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn’t love his brother.
11Toi-mi kareba to ni'epe ngkai lomo' -na: kana momepoka'ahi' -ta hadua bo hadua.
11For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
12Neo' -ta mpenau' kehi Kain owi. Kain toei, napo'ana' anudaa' -i, alaa-na mpopatehi-i tu'ai-na. Napa pai' alaa-na mpopatehi-i tu'ai-na? Apa' dada'a-hana po'ingku-na, hiaa' po'ingku tu'ai-na monoa'.
12unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
13Toe-mi ompi', neo' nikehelei ane tauna to uma mepangala' hi Yesus mpokahuku' -koi.
13Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.
14Ane mpoka'ahi' -ta ompi' -ta, ta'inca katebahaka-tami ngkai kamatea pai' mporata-tamo katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na. Tauna to uma mpoka'ahi' ompi' -ra, ko'ia-ra tebahaka ngkai kamatea.
14We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death.
15Hawe'ea tauna to mpokahuku' ompi' -ra, hibalia topepatehi-ra-hana. Pai' ni'inca moto ompi': tauna topepatehi uma mporata katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na.
15Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.
16Toi-mi pompetonoi-na bona ta'inca to ra'uli' ahi': Yesus mpewai' tuwu' -na bona kita' mporata kalompea'. Jadi', kita' wo'o kana mpewai' tuwu' -ta mpotulungi ompi' -ta.
16By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
17Rapa' -na ria hadua tauna to nakariai rewa dunia' toi, pai' mpohilo-i ompi' -na nakakurai' ba napa-napa, pai' nanaa mara-wadi, uma natulungi, tantu tauna toe uma-i ma'ahi' hewa Alata'ala.
17But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
18Ana' -ana' -ku, neo' ma'ahi' hi wiwi-wadi, neo' ta'uli' kampoka'ahi' -ta ompi' -ta pai' uma tababehi napa-napa mpotulungi-ra. Ma'ahi' -ta hante kehi-ta, apa' toe-mi ahi' to makono mpu'u.
18My little children, let’s not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
19Ane mpoka'ahi' -ta ompi' -ta, toe-mi pompetonoi-na bona ta'inca mpu'u kakita' -na ana' Alata'ala, alaa-na rodo-mi nono-ta mponyanyo-i.
19And by this we know that we are of the truth, and persuade our hearts before him,
20Ane uma rodo nono-ta apa' mpenonoi sala' -ta, ma'ala oa' tapakarodo nono-ta, apa' Alata'ala mpo'inca omea tuwu' -ta, pai' ahi' -na hi kita' meliu kabohe-na ngkai nono-ta to mposalai' -ta toe.
20because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21Jadi', ompi' -ompi' to kupe'ahi', ane nono-ta uma-pi mposalai' -ta, daho' -tamo mponyanyo Alata'ala,
21Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God;
22pai' napa-napa to taperapi' bate nawai' -ta, apa' tatuku' hawa' -na pai' tababehi napa to mpakagoe' nono-na.
22and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
23Toi-mile hawa' -nae: mepangala' -tamo hi Yesus Kristus Ana' -na, pai' momepoka'ahi' -ta hadua bo hadua, ntuku' to nahawai' -taka.
23This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.
24Tauna to mpotuku' hawa' Alata'ala, tida-ra hintuwu' hante Hi'a, pai' Hi'a hante hira'. Toi-mi pompetonoi-na bona ta'inca katida-na Alata'ala hintuwu' hante kita', apa' nawai' -tamo Inoha' -na.
24He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
