1Nto'u toe wo'o, ngasa' oa' -imi Saulus mpongasai' pai' mpopatehi topetuku' Pue' Yesus. Hilou-i hi Imam Bohe,
1But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,
2pai' -i mperapi' sura kuasa nakeni hilou hi pangkeni tomi posampayaa hi ngata Damsyik, bona ane ria-ra narata to mpotuku' Tudui' Yesus, nahoko' pai' nakeni-ra nculii' hi Yerusalem, ba tomane ba tobine.
2and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
3Jadi', pomako' -na hilou hi Damsyik tohe'e, mohu' -imi hi ngata, muu-mule' mehini ncorobaa baja ngkai langi' mpotipuhi-i.
3As he traveled, it happened that he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him.
4Kamodungka-nami pai' na'epe-hawo topololita to mpo'uli' -ki: "Saulus! Saulus! Napa pai' nubalinai' -a?"
4He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5Na'uli' Saulus: "Ha hema-ko Pue'?" Na'uli' topololita toei: "Aku' -mile Yesus, to nubalinai' -e!
5He said, “Who are you, Lord?” The Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. TR adds “It’s hard for you to kick against the goads.”
6Wae-pi, memata-moko, mesua' hi rala ngata. Hi ria-damo mpai' ra'uli' -koko napa to kana nubabehi."
6 But TR omits “But” rise up, and enter into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7Ane doo-doo Saulus toera, uma-rapa tepololita, kuyu-ramo nakeni eka' -ra. Apa' ra'epe moto wo'o-rawo topololita toe, aga uma rahiloi hema-i to mololita.
7The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the sound, but seeing no one.
8Ngkai ree, mokore-imi Saulus mpobini' mata-na, aga uma-ipi pehilo. Jadi', ratete' -i-damo hilou hi rala ngata Damsyik.
8Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened, he saw no one. They led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9Tolu eo kahae-na bate uma-i pehilo, pai' uma wo'o-i ngkoni' ba nginu.
9He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank.
10Hi ngata Damsyik toe, ria hadua topetuku' Yesus, Ananias hanga' -na. Nto'u toe, mopangila-i. Hi rala pangila-na toe, Pue' Yesus mpokio' -i, na'uli': "Ananias!" Na'uli' Ananias: "Oi-a Pue'."
10Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!” He said, “Behold, it’s me, Lord.”
11Na'uli' Pue': "Me'ongko' -moko hilou hi ohea to rahanga' Ohea Monoa', hi tomi-na Yudas. Pekune' hi pue' tomi ba ria to Tarsus to rahanga' Saulus. Saulus toei bula-na mosampaya,
11The Lord said to him, “Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judah or, Judas for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying,
12pai' hi rala pangila-na nahilo-ko, Ananias. Nahilo-ko hilou mpohirua' -ki pai' mpojama-i bona pehilo nculii' -imi."
12 and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in, and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.”
13Na'uli' Ananias: "Pue', wori' tauna to mpotompo'wiwi Saulus tetui. Wori' pebalinai' -na hi topetuku' -nu to hi Yerusalem.
13But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he did to your saints at Jerusalem.
14Hiaa' tumai wo'o-imi hi rehe'i, hante kuasa ngkai imam pangkeni, bona mpohoko' hawe'ea tauna to mekakae hi Iko Pue'."
14Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”
15Na'uli' Pue' mpo'uli' -ki Ananias: "Bate hilou-ko! Apa' Saulus toei ria, tungkai' kupelihi jadi' topobago-ku. Hi'a mpai' to mpoparata hanga' -ku hi to Yahudi pai' hi tauna to bela-ra to Yahudi, duu' hi magau' wo'o.
15But the Lord said to him, “Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel.
16Ku'uli' moto-ki mpai' kaparia to kana natodohaka sabana petuku' -na hi Aku'."
16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”
17Jadi', hilou mpu'u-imi Ananias hi tomi to na'uli' Pue' we'i. Karata-na hi ria, najama-i Saulus, na'uli' -ki: "Ompi' -ku Saulus! Pue' Yesus to nuhilo hi lengko ohea katumai-nu toi-e, Hi'a-mi to mpohubui-a tumai mpokinomo-ko. Nahubui-a tumai bona pehilo nculii' -moko, pai' -ko nakuasai Inoha' Tomoroli'."
17Ananias departed, and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me, that you may receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
18Nto'u toe, ria to hewa ruke uru molepa' ngkai mata Saulus, pai' pehilo mpu'u-imi. Pokore-nami Saulus, pai' -i raniu' jadi' topetuku' Pue' Yesus.
18Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized.
19Oti toe, ngkoni' -imi pai' moroho nculii' -imi.
19He took food and was strengthened. Saul stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus.
20Bula-na hi Damsyik toe, hilou oa' -i hi tomi-tomi posampayaa to Yahudi hi Damsyik, pai' na'uli' -raka: "Yesus, Hi'a-mi Ana' Alata'ala."
20Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed the Christ, that he is the Son of God.
21Konce omea-ra to mpo'epe lolita-na, ra'uli': "Ha beiwa-mi-koiwo tohe'i-e? Apa' hi'a toe-mi wengi to mpopatehi tauna to mepue' hi Yesus hi Yerusalem. Pai' patuju-na tumai tetu-e, bona mpohoko' wo'o-ra to hi rehe'i pai' mpokeni-ra hi imam pangkeni hi Yerusalem bona rahuku'."
21All who heard him were amazed, and said, “Isn’t this he who in Jerusalem made havoc of those who called on this name? And he had come here intending to bring them bound before the chief priests!”
22Aga kaboo-bohea baraka' -na Saulus metudui', napakanoto Kayesus-na Magau' Topetolo'. Jadi', to Yahudi hi Damsyik, uma-pi rakulei' mpobaro-i.
22But Saul increased more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.
23Ba hangkuja kahae-na ngkai ree, mohawa' -ramo to Yahudi mpopatehi Saulus.
23When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him,
24Pohawa' -ra toe, mpodongo hawe'ea wobo' wala ngata, lompe' hi eo-na lompe' hi bengi-na, bona ane liu-ipi mpai', rapatehi-imi. Ntaa' na'inca-di Saulus patuju-ra tohe'e-e.
24but their plot became known to Saul. They watched the gates both day and night that they might kill him,
25Jadi', apa' hawe'ea wobo' radongo, Saulus kana mpali' akala-na bona ma'ala-i metibo' ngkai ngata. Toe pai' rala-na hamengi, ba hangkuja dua ana'guru-na Saulus mpokeni-i hilou hi wala tana' to mpotololiki ngata Damsyik, rapopohura-i hi rala karanci, pai' -i ra'ulu hi rala karanci toe ngkai lolo wala tana' hilou hi mali ngata, pai' kaliliu metibo' -imi.
25but his disciples took him by night, and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.
26Nculii' -imi Saulus hilou hi Yerusalem. Karata-na hi ria, doko' napobale-miraka topetuku' Yesus, aga rapoka'eka' -i, apa' ko'ia rapangalai' kametuku' -na mpu'u-mi hi Yesus.
26When Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
27Aga Barnabas-hana, hilou-i mpobale-ki Saulus, pai' napo'ema' -imi hilou hi suro Pue' Yesus. Natutura-raka beiwa Saulus mpohilo Pue' Yesus hi lengko ohea kahilou-na hi Damsyik, pai' beiwa Pue' mpololitai-i. Nalolita wo'o-raka kabia' -na Saulus mpokarebai kareba Pue' Yesus hi Damsyik.
27But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.
28Ngkai ree, hampodooa-ramo Saulus hante topetuku' Yesus hi Yerusalem, pai' modao' -i hobo' ngata mpoparata kareba Pue' Yesus hante uma ria kakoroa' -na.
28He was with them entering into TR and NU add “and going out” Jerusalem,
29Biasa wo'o-i momewai' ngkalolita pai' momehono' hante to Yahudi to mobasa Yunani. Toe pai' to Yahudi toera doko' mpopatehi-i.
29preaching boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus. TR and NU omit “Jesus” and reverse the order of verses 28 & 29. He spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, The Hellenists were Hebrews who used Greek language and culture. but they were seeking to kill him.
30Jadi', kara'inca-na ompi' -ompi' hampepangalaa' -na karia-ra to doko' mpopatehi-i, rabawa-imi hilou hi ngata Kaisarea. Ngkai Kaisarea toe, rapope'ongko' -imi hilou hi ngata Tarsus.
30When the brothers The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him off to Tarsus.
31Jadi', nto'u toe uma-pi ria kakoroa' -ra hawe'ea topepangala' hi Pue' Yesus to hi tana' Yudea, Galilea pai' Samaria. Kawoo-woria' tauna to mepangala' hi Yesus pai' kamoroo-rohoa pepangala' -ra. Apa' mengkoru mpu'u-ra hi Pue' Ala, pai' Inoha' Tomoroli' moto to mporohoi nono-ra.
31So the assemblies throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
32Petrus modao' mpencuai' topepangala' hi Pue' Yesus hiapa-apa. Rala-na ha'eo, rata-i hi ngata Lida.
32It happened, as Peter went throughout all those parts, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.
33Hi ngata Lida toe, mpohirua' -ki hadua tomane, hanga' -na Eneas. Eneas toei walu mpae-imi pungku, uma-i tepemata ngkai poturua-na.
33There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed.
34Na'uli' Petrus mpo'uli' -ki: "Eneas, Yesus Kristus mpaka'uri' -ko! Mokore-moko, pai' lulu-mi ali' -nu." Hinto'u toe mpu'u, mokore-imi Eneas.
34Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed!” Immediately he arose.
35Hawe'ea tauna hi ngata Lida pai' hi Saron mpohilo kamo'uri' -nami, pai' mepangala' -ramo hi Pue' Yesus.
35All who lived at Lydda and in Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.
36Uma molaa ngkai Lida toe, ria wo'o ngata to rahanga' Yope. Hi Yope toe, ria hadua tobine to mepangala' hi Yesus, Tabita hanga' -na. Hi rala basa Yunani hanga' -na Dorkas (batua-na: ruha). Lompe' po'ingku-na, pai' wori' petulungia-na hi tauna to mpe'ahii'.
36Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which when translated, means Dorcas. “Dorcas” is Greek for “Gazelle.” This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did.
37Nto'u Petrus hi Lida, peda' danca Dorkas toei, kaliliu mate. Ka'oti-na raniu', ratu'u-i hi kamar to hi lolo-na.
37It happened in those days that she fell sick, and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.
38Topetuku' Yesus hi Yope mpo'epe karia-na Petrus hi Lida, apa' ngata Yope toe mohu' -wadi hi Lida. Toe pai' rahubui rodua tauna hilou hi Petrus, merapi' bona napesahui tumai hi Yope.
38As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men Reading from NU, TR; MT omits “two men” to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.
39Metuku' mpu'u-imi Petrus hilou dohe-ra. Karata-ra hi Yope, kaliliu rapo'ema' -i hilou hi powataa tomate. Hawe'ea tobine tobalu mpotipuhi Petrus. Geo' -ra pai' rapopohiloi-i baju pai' pohea to nadau-raka Dorkas bula-na tuwu' -pidi.
39Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.
40Ngkai ree, Petrus mpohubui-ra omea mpalahii kamar toe, pai' powilingkudu-nami mosampaya. Ka'oti-na mosampaya, pai' -i mponyanyohi tomate, na'uli' -ki: "Tabita, memata-moko!" Hangaa mobini' mpu'u-mi mata-na mponaa Petrus, pai' kaliliu mohura-imi.
40Peter put them all out, and kneeled down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41Petrus mpokakamu pale-na pai' mpo'ore' -i duu' -na mokore. Oti toe, nakio' nculii' -ramo topetuku' Yesus pai' tobalu to nahubui malai-e we'i, pai' na'uli' -raka: "Ohe'i-imi bale-ni, tuwu' nculii' -imi."
41He gave her his hand, and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.
42Kajadia' toe rajarita hobo' hi ngata Yope, alaa-na wori' tauna mepangala' hi Pue' Yesus.
42And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.
43Oti toe, Petrus tida hi Yope ba hangkuja mengi-pidi kahae-na, mo'oha' hi tomi hadua topobago rewa kuliba to rahanga' Simon.
43It happened, that he stayed many days in Joppa with one Simon, a tanner.
