1Kahudu-na Yesus mosampaya, me'ongko' -imi hante ana'guru-na hilou hi mali ngata. Mpodongka' -ra ue Kidron, pai' -ra hilou hi pampa to hi dipo-na.
1When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, into which he and his disciples entered.
2Yudas, to mpobalu' Yesus toei, mpo'inca kahiapa-na pampa toe, apa' Yesus pai' ana'guru-na jau-ra morumpu hi ria.
2Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples.
3Jadi', imam pangkeni pai' to Parisi mpohubui hampodooa tantara to Roma pai' topojaga Tomi Alata'ala mpo'ema' Yudas hilou hi pampa toe. Mpokeni-ra rewa mpanga'e, lampu pai' hulu'.
3Judas then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.
4Yesus mpo'inca omea napa to kana jadi' hi woto-na. Toe pai' hilou-imi mpotomu tauna toera, pai' napekune': "Hema to nipali'?"
4Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went forth, and said to them, “Who are you looking for?”
5Ra'uli': "Yesus to Nazaret." Na'uli' Yesus: "Aku' -mile toi-e." Yudas to mpobalu' -i mokore hi ree dohe tantara pai' topojaga toera.
5They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am he.” Judas also, who betrayed him, was standing with them.
6Nto'u kana'uli' -na-raka Yesus: "Aku' -mile toi-e," ngkala'ura-ramo pai' modungka-ra hi tana'.
6When therefore he said to them, “I am he,” they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7Napekune' wo'o-mi Yesus: "Hema to nipali' -e?" Ra'uli': "Yesus to Nazaret."
7Again therefore he asked them, “Who are you looking for?” They said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
8Na'uli' Yesus: "Ku'uu-uli' -mi we'i ka'Aku' -nami toi-e. Jadi', ane Aku' mpu'u to nipali', pelele' -ramo doo-ku tohe'i hilou."
8Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way,”
9(Hante lolita-na Yesus toe, madupa' -mi napa to na'uli' hi rala posampaya-na we'i: "Ngkai hawe'ea tauna to nuwai' -ka, uma ria haduaa to mporata silaka.")
9that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, “Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none.” John 6:39
10Ngkai ree, Simon Petrus mpowute' piho' -na, natime-ki hadua batua Imam Bohe, bela mpoholu tilinga ka'ana-na. Hanga' -na batua toei, Malkus.
10Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
11Na'uli' Yesus hi Petrus: "Unco' nculii' piho' -nu! Ha nu'uli' -kona kupetiboi' kaparia to naponoa' ami' -maka Tuama-kue?"
11Jesus therefore said to Peter, “Put the sword into its sheath. The cup which the Father has given me, shall I not surely drink it?”
12Ngkai ree, tantara to Roma hante tadulako-ra, pai' topojaga to Yahudi mpohoko' Yesus, rahoo',
12So the detachment, the commanding officer, and the officers of the Jews, seized Jesus and bound him,
13pai' -i rakeni hilou hi tomi Imam Bohe. Lomo' -na rakeni-i hilou hi Hanas, piniana-na Kayafas. Kayafas toei Imam Bohe hi mpae toe.
13and led him to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.
14Kayafas toe-mi to mpo'uli' -raka topoparenta to Yahudi wengi: "Agina-pi tau hadua mate mposampei ntodea."
14Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should perish for the people.
15Simon Petrus pai' hadua ana'guru ntani' -na mpotuku' Yesus. Ana'guru to hadua toei, pome'inca-na Imam Bohe. Jadi', mesua' -imi dohe Yesus hi berewe tomi Imam Bohe.
15Simon Peter followed Jesus, as did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered in with Jesus into the court of the high priest;
16Petrus mepopea hi mali-na, hi wobo' wala. Ngkai ree we'i, ana'guru to hadua toei, lou nculii' hi mali-na mpololitai tobine to mpojaga wobo', bona Petrus rapiliu mesua' dohe-na, pai' napo'ema' -i Petrus mesua' hi rala-na.
16but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought in Peter.
17Tobine topojaga wobo' toei mpo'uli' -ki Petrus: "Ha bela iko wo'o ana'guru-na tauna toei-e lou?" Na'uli' Petrus: "Bela!"
17Then the maid who kept the door said to Peter, “Are you also one of this man’s disciples?” He said, “I am not.”
18Nto'u toe, tempo lengi'. Jadi', ba hangkuja dua batua pai' topojaga mpobaa apu hi berewe hante wuri to morea', pai' -ra mokore ntololikia-na moneru. Petrus wo'o mokore pai' moneru dohe-ra.
18Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold. They were warming themselves. Peter was with them, standing and warming himself.
19Hi rala tomi, Imam Bohe mpopekune' Yesus na'uli' -ki: "Hema omea-ra ana'guru-nue? Napa to nutudui' -raka?"
19The high priest therefore asked Jesus about his disciples, and about his teaching.
20Na'uli' Yesus: "Kabiasaa-ku, mololita hante kalonto' -lonto' -na hi hawe'ea tauna. Metudui' -a hi tomi posampayaa pai' hi Tomi Alata'ala, hi kabiasaa-ta kita' to Yahudi morumpu. Uma ria to kuwunii' -na.
20Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where the Jews always meet. I said nothing in secret.
21Jadi', napa pai' nupekune' -ae? Pekune' moto-ra-kowo to mpo'epe-a metudui'. Ra'inca moto mpai' napa to ku'uli'."
21 Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them. Behold, these know the things which I said.”
22Kana'uli' -na Yesus toe, hadua topojaga to mokore hi ncori-na mpohopo' -i, na'uli': "Daho' mpu'u-ko-kona mololita hewa tetu hi Imam Bohe-e!"
22When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Jesus with his hand, saying, “Do you answer the high priest like that?”
23Na'uli' Yesus: "Ane uma makono to ku'uli', uli' lau-mi hi rehe'i napa sala' -ku. Tapi' ane makono lolita-ku, napa pai' nuhopo' -a?"
23Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you beat me?”
24Ngkai ree, Hanas mpohubui topojaga mpokeni Yesus hilou hi Imam Bohe Kayafas. Nto'u toe, pale-na Yesus tehoo' oa' -pidi.
24Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas, the high priest.
25Simon Petrus, ria-i-pidi mokore pai' moneru ngkokore dohe topojaga. Ria tauna to mpo'uli' -ki: "Ha bela iko wo'o hadua ana'guru-nae?" Nasapu Petrus, na'uli': "Bela-kuwo aku'!"
25Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, “You aren’t also one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it, and said, “I am not.”
26Ria wo'o hi ree hadua batua Imam Bohe. Batua toei, ompi' tauna to naholu Petrus tilinga-na. Na'uli' batua toei mpo'uli' -ki Petrus: "Ha bela iko to kuhilo-e ngone hi pampa toe ria dohe Yesus-e?"
26One of the servants of the high priest, being a relative of him whose ear Peter had cut off, said, “Didn’t I see you in the garden with him?”
27Nasapu wo'o-mi Petrus, na'uli': "Bela!" Nto'u toe, turua' -mi manu'.
27Peter therefore denied it again, and immediately the rooster crowed.
28Mepupulo ngkii, Yesus rakeni ngkai tomi Kayafas hilou hi tomi gubernur. Topoparenta to Yahudi moto, uma-ra mesua' hi rala tomi gubernur, apa' gubernur toe, bela-i to Yahudi, pai' ane mesua' -ra hi rala tomi to bela tomi to Yahudi, jadi' babo' -ra ntuku' atura agama-ra, pai' uma-ra ma'ala ngkoni' pongkoni' Paskah.
28They led Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves didn’t enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.
29Jadi', Gubernur Pilatus hilou hi mali-na mpohirua' -raka pai' napekune' -ra: "Napa to nipangadu' -ki tauna toii-e?"
29Pilate therefore went out to them, and said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?”
30Ra'uli': "Ane ke bela-i tauna to dada'a, ke uma-i kibua' hi Tuama Gubernur."
30They answered him, “If this man weren’t an evildoer, we wouldn’t have delivered him up to you.”
31Na'uli' Pilatus: "Keni hilou nculii', nipohurai-miki sala' -na ntuku' ada agama-ni moto-koiwo!" Ra'uli' to Yahudi toera: "Kai' -le, uma-kai rapiliu mpohuku' mate tauna."
31Pilate therefore said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”
32(Toi majadi' bona madupa' napa to na'uli' Yesus mpolowa beiwa mpai' kamate-na.)
32that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
33Ngkai ree, Pilatus mesua' nculii' hi rala tomi, napehubui bona Yesus rakeni hi nyanyoa-na, pai' napekune' -i: "Ha Iko mpu'u-mi Magau' to Yahudi-e?"
33Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, called Jesus, and said to him, “Are you the King of the Jews?”
34Na'uli' Yesus: "Pompekunea' tetu ngkai Gubernur moto, ba pololita tau ntani' -nadi?"
34Jesus answered him, “Do you say this by yourself, or did others tell you about me?”
35Na'uli' Pilatus: "Kawe' to Yahudi-a! Hingka to Yahudi-nu moto-kowo hante imam pangkeni to mpokeni-ko hi aku' -e. Napa-di sala' to nubabehi-e?"
35Pilate answered, “I’m not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me. What have you done?”
36Na'uli' Yesus: "Kamagaua' -ku bela ngkai dunia' toi. Ane rapa' -na magau' hi dunia' toi mpu'u-a, tauna to mpotuku' -a bate me'ewa bona neo' -a rahoko' pai' rapewai' hi topoparenta to Yahudi. Tapi' Kamagaua' -ku bela ngkai dunia' toi."
36Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I wouldn’t be delivered to the Jews. But now my Kingdom is not from here.”
37Na'uli' wo'o-mi Pilatus: "Ane wae-di, magau' mpu'u-ko?" Na'uli' Yesus: "Iko moto to mpo'uli' Aku' toi magau'. Pai' -a putu hi dunia' toi, bona mpo'uli' napa to makono. Tauna to mpokono napa to makono, bate mpangala' lolita-ku."
37Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”
38Hampetompoi' Pilatus: "Ah! Napa-i to nu'uli' makono tetu-e?"
38Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” When he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no basis for a charge against him.
39Aga, ane ntuku' -ki ada-ni lalau, butu mpae-na hi Eo Paskah, kubahaka-kokoi hadua to ratarungku', ba hema konoa-ni. Jadi', beiwa: dota-koi ane kubahaka-kokoi Magau' to Yahudi toii-e?"
39But you have a custom, that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Therefore do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
40Mejeu' -ra ra'uli': "Neo', neo' Hi'a! Agina Barabas!" (Barabas toe, hadua toperampaki.)
40Then they all shouted again, saying, “Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.
