3

1Ria hadua tauna to rahanga' Nikodemus. Nikodemus toei, to Parisi pai' pangkeni agama Yahudi.
1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
2Rala-na hamengi, rata-i mpohirua' -ki Yesus, na'uli' -ki: "Guru, to ki'inca, Iko hadua guru to nasuro Alata'ala, apa' uma ria tauna to bisa mpobabehi tanda mekoncehi hewa to nubabehi, ane uma-i nadohei Alata'ala."
2The same came to him by night, and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.”
3Na'uli' Yesus mpo'uli' -ki: "Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: Ane tauna uma putu nculii', uma-i mpai' jadi' ntodea Alata'ala hi rala Kamagaua' -na."
3Jesus answered him, “Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see the Kingdom of God.”
4Na'uli' Nikodemus: "Ha beiwa-hawo tauna to motu'a-mi putu nculii' -e? Ha bisa-i mempuna' hi rala puanaka tina-na, pai' -i putu karongkani-nae?"
4Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?”
5Na'uli' Yesus: "Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: Ane tauna uma putu hante ue pai' hante baraka' Inoha' Alata'ala, uma-i jadi' ntodea Alata'ala hi rala Kamagaua' -na.
5Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into the Kingdom of God!
6Manusia' tuwu' hi rala dunia' toi, apa' putu ngkai totu'a-na. Tapi' katuwua' kao' -na to bo'u narata ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli'.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7Jadi', neo' nupokakonce lolita-ku tohe'i to mpo'uli': koi' omea kana putu nculii'.
7 Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’
8Rapa' -na ngolu', mewui hiapa kalaua-na. Wule' sere-na ta'epe, uma ta'incai kangkaiapa-na ba hilou hiapa-i. Wae wo'o hante tauna to putu ngkai baraka' Inoha' Alata'ala."
8 The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9Na'uli' Nikodemus: "Beiwa wo'o-hawo kawali-na tetu-e?"
9Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?”
10Na'uli' Yesus: "Iko-le hadua guru to Israel to rabila', hiaa' uma-di-kona nu'incai batua-na lolita-ku toi-e!
10Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things?
11Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: Kai' mpo'uli' napa to ki'inca, kilolita napa to kihilo. Hiaa' uma-di nipangalai' lolita-kai.
11 Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know, and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness.
12Ane kututura-kokoi napa to jadi' hi dunia', uma nipangala'. Peliu-liu-nami mpai' ane kututura-kokoi napa to jadi' hi suruga.
12 If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13Uma ria haduaa tauna hi dunia' to manake' hilou hi suruga. Muntu' Aku' -wadi to mpo'inca napa to jadi' hi suruga, apa' Aku' Ana' Manusia' to mo'oha' hi suruga ngkai owi pai' to mana'u tumai ngkai suruga.
13 No one has ascended into heaven, but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
14"Owi hi papada to wao', nabi Musa mpobabehi lence ule ngkai ngkala, pai' natu'u hi doe hampole kaju pai' natunya' napopokore. Hema-hema to natilo' ule, ane rangoa' lence ule ngkala toe, tuwu' moto-ra. Jadi', hewa ule ngkala toe rapokalangko owi, wae wo'o mpai' Aku' Ana' Manusia' kana rapokalangko,
14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15bona hema-hema to mepangala' hi Aku' mporata katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na."
15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16Hewa toi-mi Alata'ala mpoka'ahi' hawe'ea tauna hi dunia', alaa-na napewai' Ana' -na to Hadudua, bona hema-hema to mepangala' hi Ana' -na toe, uma-ra mporata huku', tapi' mporata-ra katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
17Bela patuju-na Alata'ala mposuro Ana' -na tumai hi dunia' bona mpohuku' manusia'. Patuju-na mposuro Ana' -na tumai-le, bona mpohore manusia' ngkai huku' jeko' -ra.
17 For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
18Tauna to mepangala' hi Ana' Alata'ala, uma-ra rahuku'. Aga tauna to uma mepangala', monoa' -mi kanahuku' -ra Alata'ala, apa' uma-ra dota mepangala' hi Ana' Alata'ala to Hadudua toei.
18 He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
19Rata-imi hi dunia' mpokeni baja hi hawe'ea tauna. Tapi' manusia' mpokono-pi bengi ngkai baja, apa' dada'a kehi-ra. Toe pai' Alata'ala mpohuku' -ra.
19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.
20Hawe'ea tauna to mpobabehi kehi to dada'a, mpokahuku' baja. Uma-ra dota rata hi kabajaa-na, bona neo' mpai' kahiloa kehi-ra to dada'a.
20 For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.
21Tauna to monoa' kehi-ra rata hi kabajaa-na, bona kahiloa po'ingku-ra pai' bona monoto-mi kampotuku' -ra konoa Alata'ala.
21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
22Oti toe, Yesus pai' ana'guru-na hilou hi tana' Yudea. Bula-ra hi ree, meniu' -ra mponiu' tauna to doko' jadi' topetuku' -na.
22After these things, Jesus came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them, and baptized.
24Nto'u toe, Yohanes Topeniu' ko'ia-i ratarungku'. Meniu' -i hi ngata Ainon, uma molaa ngkai ngata Salim, apa' hi ree wori' ue. Butu eo-na tauna hilou mpopeniu' hi Yohanes.
23John also was baptizing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. They came, and were baptized.
25Rala-na ha'eo, ba hangkuja dua ana'guru Yohanes momehono' hante to Yahudi mpomehonoi' ada peniu' rala agama.
24For John was not yet thrown into prison.
26Hilou-ramo hi Yohanes ra'uli' -ki: "Guru, nukiwoi-pidi wengi tauna to dohe-ta hi dipo ue Yordan, to nutudo' -kakaie? Oe-imi ria, meniu' wo'o-i-hawo, pai' kawoo-woria' tauna lou hi Hi'a!"
25There arose therefore a questioning on the part of John’s disciples with some Jews about purification.
27Na'uli' Yohanes: "Kita' manusia' uma mporata napa-napa ane uma pewai' -na Alata'ala.
26They came to John, and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, the same baptizes, and everyone is coming to him.”
28Ni'epe moto-mi wengi lolita-ku. Ku'uli': aku' bela Magau' Topetolo'. Pai' -a tumai-kuwo-le, tumai meri'ulu ngkai Hi'a mporodo-ki ohea-na.
27John answered, “A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given him from heaven.
29"Ane rapa' -na hi susa' poncamokoa, topemua' -di-hana to jadi' poko-na, apa' hi'a-mi pue' tobine to rapemuai'. Ane bale-na topemua' -hawo-le, mokore-i mpopanene' -wadi-ki-hawo pai' mpe'epei hawa' -na. Pai' goe' -i mpo'epe libu' topemua'. Wae-mi-kuwo aku' -e, aku' hewa bale-na topemua'. Goe' -a, pai' gana kagoea' -ku, apa' kawoo-woria' tauna mpotuku' -i Yesus.
28You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before him.’
30Hi'a-mi to kana tepaiwongko tuwu' -na, pai' aku' kana tepai'ara' tuwu' -ku."
29He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. This, my joy, therefore is made full.
31Yesus, Hi'a-mi to tumai ngkai suruga, pai' meliu tuwu' -na ngkai hawe'ea. Tauna to ngkai dunia', bate manusia' biasa, pai' lolita-na mpololita napa-napa to jadi' hi dunia'. Aga Yesus, ngkai suruga-i-hana, pai' meliu tuwu' -na ngkai hawe'ea.
30He must increase, but I must decrease.
32Lolita-na mpololita napa to nahilo pai' to na'epe, tapi' uma ria to mpangala' lolita-na.
31He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
33Aga hema to mpangala' lolita-na mpo'uli': "Bate makono-hanale lolita Alata'ala-e."
32What he has seen and heard, of that he testifies; and no one receives his witness.
34Apa' Hi'a-mi to nasuro Alata'ala mpohowa' lolita-na, pai' Alata'ala mpowai' -i Inoha' Tomoroli' hante uma ria huka' -na.
33He who has received his witness has set his seal to this, that God is true.
35Alata'ala to Tuama mpoka'ahi' Ana' -na, pai' nawai' -imi hawe'ea kuasa-na.
34For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.
36Tauna to mepangala' hi Ana' -na toei, mporata-ramo katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na. Tauna to uma mengkoru hi Ana' -na toei, uma-ra mporata katuwua'. Mporata roe Alata'ala lau-rada duu' kahae-hae-na.
35The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.
36One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
