6

1Oti toe, hilou-imi Yesus hi dipo Rano Galilea, to rahanga' wo'o Rano Tiberias.
1After these things, Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is also called the Sea of Tiberias.
2Wori' lia tauna mpotuku' -i, apa' rahilo hawe'ea tanda mekoncehi to nababehi, mpaka'uri' topeda'.
2A great multitude followed him, because they saw his signs which he did on those who were sick.
3Manake' -i lou hi panapa bulu' hante ana'guru-na, pai' mohura-imi hi ree.
3Jesus went up into the mountain, and he sat there with his disciples.
4Nto'u toe, neo' rata-mi eo bohe agama Yahudi to rahanga' Eo Paskah.
4Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.
5Yesus mponaa ntololikia-na, nahilo-hawo, mo'iko-ra-damo tauna tumai mpomohui' -i. Na'uli' mpo'uli' -ki Filipus: "Hiapa-ta me'oli pongkoni', tapokoni' -raka tauna to wori' toera lau?"
5Jesus therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude was coming to him, said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?”
6(Kakoo-kono-na, na'inca ami' moto-mi napa mpai' to nababehi. Napekune' hewa toe hi Filipus, apa' doko' naponciloi pepangala' -na.)
6This he said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.
7Na'uli' Filipus: "Nau' ro'atu doi pera' tapope'oli-ki pongkoni' pai' butu dua-ra tawai' hore hangkedi' -wadi, uma oa' hono'."
7Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that everyone of them may receive a little.”
8Ngkai ree, hadua ana'guru-na to rahanga' Andreas, ompi' -na Simon Petrus, mpo'uli':
8One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,
9"Ohe'i hadua ana' to mobokui lima meha' roti pai' tinapa uru roma'a, aga napa-mile kalaua-na hi tauna to wori' hewa toe-e lau?"
9“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these among so many?”
10Na'uli' Yesus: "Hubui-ramo mohura!" Jadi' mohura-ramo hi kowo' raponcawa ali', apa' wori' kowo' hi ree. Hi olo' ntodea toe, ria ba lima ncobu paka' tomane.
10Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in that place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11Ngkai ree, na'ala' -mi roti, na'uli' tarima kasi hi Alata'ala, pai' nabagi-bagi hi tauna to wori' to mohura. Hewa toe wo'o pompobabehi-na hante bau' uru. Ngkoni' -ramo omea duu' -ra bohu.
11Jesus took the loaves; and having given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; likewise also of the fish as much as they desired.
12Bohu-ramo omea, na'uli' Yesus hi ana'guru-na: "Rumpu-koi toro-na, bona neo' ria to rakerei."
12When they were filled, he said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces which are left over, that nothing be lost.”
13Rarumpu mpu'u-mi, hampulu' roluncu-pi toro-na ngkai lima meha' roti to rakoni' tauna to wori' we'i.
13So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which were left over by those who had eaten.
14Karahilo-na ntodea tanda mekoncehi tohe'e, momepololitai-ramo, ra'uli': "Hi'a mpu'u-mi-tawo' nabi to rajanci owi-e, to ra'uli' rata mpai' hi dunia' toi-e!"
14When therefore the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they said, “This is truly the prophet who comes into the world.”
15Jadi', ria patuju-ra doko' mpewuku-i jadi' magau' -ra. Kana'inca-na Yesus patuju-ra toe, malai-imi ngkai ree hilou hi bulu' -na.
15Jesus therefore, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.
16Ncimonou' tohe'e, mana'u-ramo ana'guru-na hilou hi rano mpopea-i.
16When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,
17Rapopea duu' mobengi, ko'ia oa' -i rata. Jadi', mosakaya moto-ramo hilou mpotoa' ngata Kapernaum.
17and they entered into the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.
18Bula-ra mosakaya toe, rata ngolu' bohe mporumpa' -ra, alaa-na bohe balumpa hi rano.
18The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.
19Lima ba ono kilo-ramo ngkai talinti, rahilo-rawo, etu-imi tumai Yesus momako' hi lolo ue mpototopa-ra. Aga uma ra'incai Kayesus-na. Me'eka' lia-ramo.
19When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they saw Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing near to the boat; and they were afraid.
20Na'uli' Yesus: "Neo' me'eka'! Aku' -mile toi-e."
20But he said to them, “It is I . Don’t be afraid.”
21Mpo'epe toe-di, goe' -ramo mpodoa Yesus hi rala sakaya. Pesua' -na Yesus hi rala sakaya, rata-ramo hi wiwi' talinti to ratoa'.
21They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat. Immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.
22Kampeneo-na, wori' tauna hi dipo rano mpopali' Yesus, ra'uli': "Hiapa-imidie? Uma-idi mohawi' sakaya dohe ana'guru-nae ngone. Hiaa' uma ria sakaya ntani' -na hi rei ngone, muntu' sakaya to rahawi' ana'guru-na-wadi."
22On the next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except the one in which his disciples had embarked, and that Jesus hadn’t entered with his disciples into the boat, but his disciples had gone away alone.
23Ngkai ree, rata wo'o tauna ngkai ngata Tiberias hi rala sakaya-ra, pai' -ra mencore mohu' hi pongkonia' -ra ntodea wengi, to mpokoni' roti to nagane' Pue' Yesus.
23However boats from Tiberias came near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.
24Kara'inca-na ntodea ka'uma-napi ria Yesus hi ree, ntahawe' ana'guru-na uma wo'o-pi ria, mosakaya wo'o-ramo-rawo hilou hi Kapernaum mpopali' -i.
24When the multitude therefore saw that Jesus wasn’t there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
25Karata-ra ntodea hi dipo rano mpohirua' -ki Yesus, rapekune' -i: "Nto'uma-ko rata hi rehe'i-e, Guru?"
25When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”
26Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled.
27Neo' -koi mobago mpali' pongkoni' to sohi' oti pai' waha'. Mobago-koi mpali' pongkoni' to uma ria kawahaa' -na pai' to mpowai' katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na. Aku' Ana' Manusia' to mpowai' -koi pongkoni' tohe'e, apa' Alata'ala to Tuama mpotudo' ka'Aku' -nami to napelihi pai' to napokono."
27 Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him.”
28Mepekune' -ra ntodea: "Napa to kana kipobago bona pobago-kai ntuku' konoa Alata'ala?"
28They said therefore to him, “What must we do, that we may work the works of God?”
29Na'uli' Yesus: "Toi-mile pobago to napokono Alata'ala-e: mepangala' hi Aku' to nasuro."
29Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
30Ra'uli' wo'o-mi ntodea: "Ane wae, tanda napa to nupopohiloi-kakai, bona kipangala' -ko kangkai Alata'ala-na mpu'u-ko? Napa to nubabehi?
30They said therefore to him, “What then do you do for a sign, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you do?
31Wai' -ka-kaiwo pongkoni', hewa to rakoni' ntu'a-ta owi. Bula-ra hi papada to wao', ngkoni' -ra pongkoni' to rahanga' manna, hewa to te'uki' hi rala Buku Tomoroli': 'Nawai' -ra pongkoni' ngkai suruga.'"
31Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, ‘He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.’”
32Na'uli' Yesus: "Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: Bela nabi Musa owi to mpowai' pongkoni' ngkai suruga. Tempo toi-e, Tuama-ku-hana to mpowai' -koi pongkoni' to mpu'u-mpu'u ngkai suruga.
32Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn’t Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven.
33Pongkoni' to nawai' Alata'ala, batua-na, to mana'u tumai ngkai suruga pai' to mpowai' katuwua' hi manusia'."
33 For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.”
34Ra'uli' -ki ntodea: "Ane wae, wai' -ka-kaiwo pongkoni' tetu butu-butu eo-na!"
34They said therefore to him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”
35Na'uli' Yesus: "Aku' toi-mi pongkoni' to mpowai' katuwua'. Hema to tumai hi Aku' uma-rapa mo'oro', pai' hema to mepangala' hi Aku' uma-rapa ngkamara, duu' kahae-hae-na.
35Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
36Aga hewa to ku'uli' we'i, nau' nihilo-ama, uma oa' -a nipangala'.
36 But I told you that you have seen me, and yet you don’t believe.
37Hawe'ea tauna to nawai' -maka Tuama-ku, bate tumai hi Aku'. Pai' hema-hema to tumai hi Aku', bate kutarima-i pai' uma-i kupopalai.
37 All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.
38Apa' tumai-a ngkai suruga, uma mpobabehi konoa-ku moto. Tumai-a mpobabehi konoa-na Alata'ala to mposuro-a.
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
39Toi-mi konoa-na: bona ngkai hawe'ea tauna to nawai' -ka, neo' mpai' ria haduaa to moronto, bate kupopemata-ra omea hi Eo Kiama.
39 This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.
40Toi-mi konoa Tuama-ku: bona hawe'ea to mpohilo pai' to mepangala' hi Aku' Ana' -na mporata katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na, pai' kupopemata-ra hi Eo Kiama."
40 This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
41Ngkai ree, mparangkunutia-ramo to Yahudi, apa' na'uli' -hana Yesus, Hi'a-mi pongkoni' to mana'u tumai ngkai suruga.
41The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said, “I am the bread which came down out of heaven.”
42Momepololitai-ramo ra'uli': "Ah, Hi'a toe-le Yesus, ana' Yusuf. Ta'inca moto tina-na pai' tuama-na. Napa-di-hana pai' na'uli' ngkai suruga-ie?"
42They said, “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, ‘I have come down out of heaven?’”
43Na'uli' Yesus mpo'uli' -raka: "Neo' -koi ngkunuti.
43Therefore Jesus answered them, “Don’t murmur among yourselves.
44Uma ria haduaa to ma'ala tumai hi Aku', ane uma-ra nakeni Tuama-ku to mposuro-a. Pai' kupopemata-ra omea hi Eo Kiama.
44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.
45Hi rala sura nabi-nabi owi te'uki' hewa toi: 'Alata'ala mpotudui' hawe'ea topetuku' -na.' Jadi', hawe'ea tauna to mpo'epe pai' mpotarima tudui' -na Tuama-ku, bate tumai-ra hi Aku'.
45 It is written in the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who hears from the Father, and has learned, comes to me.
46Aga neo' ni'uli' wae, ria mpu'u-ramo to mpohilo Tuama-ku. Muntu' Aku' -wadi to mpohilo-i, apa' Aku' ngkai Alata'ala-a-kuna.
46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father.
47Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: hema to mepangala' hi Aku', mporata-ramo katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na.
47 Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life.
48Aku' -mi pongkoni' to mpowai' katuwua'.
48 I am the bread of life.
49"Pongkoni' to rahanga' manna to rakoni' ntu'a-ni owi hi papada to wao' uma mpowai' katuwua', apa' mate omea moto-ra.
49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.
50Aga uma hewa toe ane pongkoni' to mana'u tumai ngkai suruga. Hema-hema to ngkoni' pongkoni' toi, uma-ra mate.
50 This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.
51Aku' toi-mi pongkoni' to mana'u tumai ngkai suruga, pongkoni' to tuwu'. Tauna to ngkoni' pongkoni' toi tuwu' duu' kahae-hae-na. Pongkoni' to tuwu' tohe'i, batua-na woto-ku to kupewai' bona manusia' mporata katuwua'."
51 I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
52Kara'epe-na to Yahudi lolita-na Yesus toe, momehono' -ramo himpau hira', ra'uli': "Beiwa-i ma'ala mpewai' woto-na hi kita' bona takoni' -e?"
52The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
53Toe pai' na'uli' -raka: "Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: Ane uma nikoni' woto-ku, Aku' Ana' Manusia', pai' uma ni'inu raa' -ku, uma-koi mporata katuwua' kao' -ni.
53Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves.
54Tauna to ngkoni' woto-ku pai' nginu raa' -ku, mporata-ramo katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na, pai' kupopemata-ra hi Eo Kiama.
54 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
55Apa' woto-ku pongkoni' mpu'u, pai' raa' -ku ininu mpu'u.
55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56Tauna to ngkoni' woto-ku pai' nginu raa' -ku, tida-ra hintuwu' hante Aku', pai' Aku' hante hira'.
56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.
57"Tuama-ku to mposuro-a, Hi'a-mi pehupaa' katuwua', pai' Aku' tuwu' ngkai Hi'a. Wae wo'o tauna to ngkoni' woto-ku, mporata-ra katuwua' ngkai Aku'.
57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he who feeds on me, he will also live because of me.
58Toi mpu'u-mile pongkoni' to mana'u ngkai suruga-e, uma hewa manna to rakoni' ntu'a-ni owi. Nau' -ra ngkoni' manna toe, bate mate oa' -ra. Tapi' tauna to ngkoni' pongkoni' toi-e, tuwu' -ra duu' kahae-hae-na."
58 This is the bread which came down out of heaven—not as our fathers ate the manna, and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.”
59Yesus mpololita hawe'ea toe nto'u petudui' -na hi tomi posampayaa hi Kapernaum.
59He said these things in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
60Kampo'epe-ra lolita Yesus toe we'i, wori' topetuku' -na mpo'uli': "Ah! Mokoro rahi tudui' toe-e. Hema mpai' to mpokule' mpotuku'!"
60Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?”
61Ntaa' na'inca moto-di Yesus kangkunuti-ra topetuku' -nae. Toe pai' na'uli' -raka: "Ha nipokedi' nono mpo'epe tudui' -ku we'i?
61But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?
62Ane wae-di, beiwa mpai' ane nihilo-apa, Aku' Ana' Manusia', ngkahe' nculii' hilou hi po'ohaa' -ku ami'?
62 Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
63Inoha' Alata'ala-hana to mpowai' katuwua'. Kuasa manusia' uma ria kalaua-na. Lolita to kupohowa' -kokoi mehuwu ngkai Inoha' Alata'ala pai' mpowai' katuwua'.
63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.
64Aga nau' wae, ria moto-koi hantongo' to uma mepangala'." Yesus mpo'uli' hewa toe apa' na'inca ami' -mi ngkai lomo' -na kahema-ra to uma mepangala' hi Hi'a, pai' na'inca wo'o kahema-na mpai' to mpobalu' -i hi bali' -na.
64 But there are some of you who don’t believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who didn’t believe, and who it was who would betray him.
65Na'uli' wo'o-mi Yesus: "Toe pai' ku'uli' -mi we'i, uma haduaa to ma'ala tumai hi Aku' ane uma-ra napiliu Tuama-ku."
65He said, “For this cause have I said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”
66Ntepu'u ngkai tempo toe, wori' topetuku' -na Yesus mpalahii-i. Uma-rapa dota mpotuku' -i.
66At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67Jadi', mepekune' wo'o-imi hi ana'guru-na to hampulu' rodua, na'uli': "Ha malai wo'o-koi mpai' koi' -e?"
67Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You don’t also want to go away, do you?”
68Na'uli' Simon Petrus: "Ha hilou hi hema-makai mpai' Pue'? Iko-wadi to mpohowa' lolita to mpowai' katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na.
68Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.
69Kipangala' -mi pai' ki'inca ka'Iko-na Suro to moroli' ngkai Alata'ala."
69We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
70Na'uli' Yesus: "Aku' moto-mile to mpelihi-koi to hampulu' rodua toi-e. Nau' wae, hadua ngkai koi' mewali seta mpai'."
70Jesus answered them, “Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”
71To natoa' Yesus, Yudas ana' Simon Iskariot. Apa' nau' Yudas hadua ngkai ana'guru-na to hampulu' rodua, hi'a mpai' to mpobalu' Yesus hi bali' -na.
71Now he spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, for it was he who would betray him, being one of the twelve.
