20

1Rala-na ha'eo Yesus metudui' pai' mparata Kareba Lompe' hi wori' tauna hi Tomi Alata'ala. Muu-mule' rata-ramo imam pangkeni hante guru agama pai' pangkeni to Yahudi ntani' -na. Ra'uli' mpo'uli' -ki Yesus:
1It happened on one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the Good News, that the priests and scribes came to him with the elders.
2"Uli' -kakai pe' ngkaiapa huraa-nu mpobabehi hawe'ea tetu hi Tomi Alata'ala! Hema to mpowai' -ko kuasa tetu-e?"
2They asked him, “Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”
3Na'uli' Yesus: "Aku', ria wo'o-kuwo pompekunea' -ku hi koi'.
3He answered them, “I also will ask you one question. Tell me:
4Uli' -ka pe', ngkaiapa kuasa-na Yohanes Topeniu' mponiu' tauna? Ngkai Alata'ala-di, ba ngkai manusia' -di?"
4 the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?”
5Momepololitai-ramo pangkeni to Yahudi toera, ra'uli': "Beiwa-tale' mpotompoi' -ie? Ane ta'uli' ngkai Alata'ala kuasa-na, na'uli' mpai': `Ane wae, napa pai' uma-i nipangala'?'
5They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’
6Hiaa' ane ta'uli' ngkai manusia' -wadi kuasa-na, rawatuhi-ta mpai' ntodea toera lau, apa' hawe'ea-ra mpo'uli' Yohanes hadua nabi."
6But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”
7Toe pai' ratompoi': "Uma ki'incai kangkaiapa kuasa-na."
7They answered that they didn’t know where it was from.
8Toe pai' na'uli' Yesus mpo'uli' -raka: "Ane wae, uma wo'o-kuwo ku'uli' -kokoi kangkaiapa kuasa-ku mpobabehi toe lau!"
8Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
9Oti toe, Yesus mpololitai ntodea, mpo'uli' -raka lolita rapa' tohe'i: "Ria tau hadua mpohu'ai bonea-na hante anggur, oti toe napewai' bonea-na rapobago hi ba hangkuja dua tauna, pai' hilou-imi hi ngata to molaa, pai' mahae-i tida hi ria.
9He began to tell the people this parable. “A man planted a vineyard, and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.
10Rata-mi tempo mpohopu' wua' anggur, napahawa' hadua batua-na hilou mperapi' bagia-na hi tompodoo bonea-na toera. Tapi' tompodoo bonea-na toera mpopao' suro tetu pai' -i rapopalai mara.
10 At the proper season, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him, and sent him away empty.
11Oti toe, pue' bonea toei mpopahawa' tena wo'o-pi hadua batua. Aga rapao' wo'o-i-wadi-hawo, ralibui' pai' rapopalai mara.
11 He sent yet another servant, and they also beat him, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
12Oti toe wo'o, nahubui tena batua katolu-na. Aga raserohi wo'o-i-wadi pai' rapetadi hi mali bonea.
12 He sent yet a third, and they also wounded him, and threw him out.
13"Ngkai ree, na'uli' -mi pue' bonea toei: `Napa-le' to kubabehi-e? Agina ana' -ku to kupe'ahi' moto lau-mi kupahawa' hilou, apa' bate rapengkorui-ile mpai'.'
13 The lord of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.’
14"Ntaa' we'i, karahilo-na tompodoo bonea toera ana' pue' bonea tohe'ei, mohawa' -ramo, ra'uli': `Etu-mi tumai ana' -na! Hi'a mpai' to jadi' pue' bonea tohe'i-e. Kita tapatehi-i bona bonea-na toi kita' -mi pue' -na.'
14 “But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’
15Ngkai ree, radii' -imi hilou hi mali bonea pai' -i rapatehi. "Jadi', napa mpai' to nababehi pue' bonea toei hi tauna to mpodoo bonea-na?
15 They threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
16Bate tumai-ile mpopatehi-ra, pai' nawai' bonea-na hi tau ntani' -na." Kara'epe-na ntodea lolita rapa' tohe'e, ra'uli' -mi: "Neo' mpu'u-kona jadi' hewa tetu-e'!"
16 He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard it, they said, “May it never be!”
17Yesus mponaa-ra pai' na'uli' -raka: "Hiaa' toe-mile batua-na walatu to hi rala Buku Tomoroli' to mpo'uli': `Watu to ratadi topowangu tomi, watu toe lau-mi to jadi' poko parawatu.'
17But he looked at them, and said, “Then what is this that is written, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the chief cornerstone?’
18Hewa kura to monawu' hi watu mopengka, hewa kura to napitihi watu moreja', hewa toe wo'o mpai' tauna to mposapuaka-a."
18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush whomever it falls on to dust.”
19Guru agama pai' imam pangkeni mpo'inca kahira' -na to natoa' Yesus hante lolita rapa' -na toe we'i. Toe pai' ria-mi nono-ra doko' mpohoko' -i hi jaa toe wo'o. Aga uma-ra daho', apa' mpoka'eka' -ra ntodea.
19The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the people—for they knew he had spoken this parable against them.
20Jadi' rapali' loga to lompe'. Mpopahawa' -ra tauna hilou mpolelemata-i. Tauna toera, ntani' hewa tauna to monoa' nono-ra, tapi' patuju-ra mpo'opa kasala' lolita-na, bona rapakilu-i hi gubernur.
20They watched him, and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.
21Karata-ra hi Yesus, ra'uli' -mi to rapahawa' toera: "Guru, ki'inca hawe'ea lolita-nu pai' tudui' -nu makono omea. Metudui' -ko hante kalonto' -lonto' -na mpo'uli' napa konoa Pue' Ala hi manusia', pai' uma-ko mpelence tauna.
21They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God.
22Jadi', toe pai' kiperapi' bona nu'uli' -kakai Guru: ntuku' atura agama-ta, ba ma'ala moto-ta mpobayari paja' hi Kaisar, ba uma-di?"
22Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
23Yesus mpo'inca pepanawu' -ra. Toe pai' na'uli' -raka:
23But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test me?
24"Popohiloi-a ulu doi hampepa'! Lence hema pai' hanga' hema to hi doi tetu-e?" Ratompoi': "Lence pai' hanga' Kaisar."
24 Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”
25He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
26Ka'omea-na madagi-ramo bali' Yesus toera. Uma raruai' nau' hanyalaa sala' lolita-na hi nyanyoa ntodea. Konce-ra mpo'epe tompoi' -na, toe pai' ngkalino-ramo.
26They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer, and were silent.
27Ba hangkuja dua tauna to mpotuku' tudui' to Saduki rata hi Yesus. To Saduki toera, pangkeni agama Yahudi to ncapuaka tauna to mate tuwu' nculii' hi eo mpeno. Karata to Saduki toera, ra'uli' -ki Yesus:
27Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.
28"Guru, nabi Musa mpo'uki' hi rala buku atura hewa toi: ane hadua tomane mate hiaa' uma-ki ria ana' -na, pudupuhe-na kana mpotobine balu-na, bona ria-ki-hawo muli tomate toei.
28They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife, and raise up children for his brother.
29Jadi', ria pitu ntali ompi', paka' tomane. To ulumua' motobinei, mate-i hante uma ria ana' -na.
29There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.
30Tu'ai-na mpotobine balu-na, aga mate wo'o-i-wadi, ko'ia napoka'alai mo'anai'.
30The second took her as wife, and he died childless.
31Wae oa' -mi to jadi' hi katolu-na duu' -na hi kapitu-na. Mate omea-ra hante uma ria ana' -ra.
31The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.
32Ka'omea-na mate wo'o-imi-hawo tobine toei.
32Afterward the woman also died.
33Jadi', hi eo mpeno, ane tuwu' nculii' mpu'u-di hawe'ea tomate-e, hema-ramo mpai' pue' tobine toei, apa' pitu-ramo mpotobine-i."
33Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”
34Na'uli' Yesus mpo'uli' -raka: "Tauna hi dunia' toi motobinei pai' motomanei.
34Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry, and are given in marriage.
35Aga tauna to napotuwu' nculii' Pue' Ala pai' to masipato' mporata bagia hi dunia' to bo'u mpai', uma-rapa-hana motobinei ba motomanei.
35 But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage.
36Apa' tuwu' -ra hewa tuwu' mala'eka, uma-rapa mate. Ana' Alata'ala-ramo, apa' napotuwu' nculii' -ramo Alata'ala.
36 For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels, and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
37"Ane katuwu' -ra nculii' tomate-e, nabi Musa moto to mpakanoto katuwu' -ra nculii'. Hi rala jarita julumpu to jela', Musa mpokahangai' Pue' Ala hewa toi: `Alata'ala to napue' Abraham, to napue' Ishak, pai' to napue' Yakub.'
37 But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
38Jadi', ngkai lolita-na nabi Musa toe, monoto-mi ta'inca katuwu' -ra moto Abraham, Ishak pai' Yakub. Apa' bela tauna to mate to mepue' hi Alata'ala, tauna to tuwu' -hana to mpopue' -i. Apa' hi Alata'ala hawe'ea tauna tuwu'."
38 Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”
39Oti toe, ba hangkuja dua guru agama mpo'uli' -ki Yesus: "Lompe' lia petompoi' -nu Guru."
39Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”
40Ngkai ree, uma-rapa daho' mepekune' ba napa-napa hi Yesus.
40They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.
41Ngkai ree, mepekune' wo'o-imi-hawo Yesus mpo'uli' -raka guru agama toera: "Beiwa pai' ra'uli' Magau' Topetolo' muli-na Magau' Daud?
41He said to them, “Why do they say that the Christ is David’s son?
44Hiaa' bo Daud moto-hawo mpokahangai' -i Pue' -na. Hi rala Buku Rona' na'uli': Pue' Ala mpo'uli' -ki Pue' -ku: `Mohura-moko hi mali ngka'ana-ku duu' -na kupopengkoru hawe'ea bali' -nu hi Iko.'
42 David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,
45Bula tauna mpe'epei lolita-na Yesus toe we'i, napololitai ana'guru-na, na'uli':
43 until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’
46"Pelompehi-koi, neo' -koi mpenau' kehi-ra guru agama. Apa' goe' -ra modao' mpopake' baju to moloe, goe' -ra ane tauna hi wiwi' karajaa motingkua' mpotabe-ra. Goe' -ra rapopohura hi pohuraa karabilaa' hi tomi posampayaa, goe' -ra ane rapopohura-ra hi pohuraa to lompe' hi posusaa'.
44 “David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”
47Mpobagiu-ra tobine tobalu pai' rahagoi tomi-ra. Pai' -ra mpowunii' kadada'a gau' -ra tohe'e hante mosampaya rapomoloe-loe. Huku' -ra motomo lia mpai'."
45In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,
46 “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;
47 who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers: these will receive greater condemnation.”
