¹Có tin đồn ra khắp nơi rằng trong anh em có sự dâm loạn, dâm loạn đến thế, dẫu người ngoại đạo cũng chẳng có giống như vậy: là đến nỗi trong anh em có kẻ lấy vợ của cha mình.

¹Whoredom is actually heard of among you, and such whoredom as is not even named among the nations — as that one hath the wife of the father! —

²Anh em còn lên mình kiêu ngạo! Anh em chẳng từng buồn rầu, hầu cho kẻ phạm tội đó bị trừ bỏ khỏi vòng anh em thì hơn!

²and ye are having been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he may be removed out of the midst of you who did this work,

³Về phần tôi, thân dầu xa cách mà lòng ở tại đó, (vì anh em và lòng tôi được hội hiệp với quyền phép của Ðức Chúa Jêsus, là Chúa chúng ta),

³for I indeed, as being absent as to the body, and present as to the spirit, have already judged, as being present, him who so wrought this thing:

⁴nên tôi đã dường như có mặt ở đó, nhơn danh Ðức Chúa Jêsus là Chúa chúng ta, tuyên án kẻ phạm tội đó

⁴in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ — ye being gathered together, also my spirit — with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁵rằng, một người như thế phải phó cho quỉ Sa tan, để hủy hoại phần xác thịt, hầu cho linh hồn được cứu trong ngày Ðức Chúa Jêsus.

⁵to deliver up such a one to the Adversary for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

⁶Thật anh em chẳng có cớ mà khoe mình đâu! Anh em há chẳng biết rằng một chút men làm cho cả đống bột dậy lên sao?

⁶Not good [is] your glorying; have ye not known that a little leaven the whole lump doth leaven?

⁷Hãy làm cho mình sạch men cũ đi, hầu cho anh em trở nên bột nhồi mới không men, như anh em là bánh không men vậy. Vì Ðấng Christ là con sinh lễ Vượt Qua của chúng ta, đã bị giết rồi.

⁷cleanse out, therefore, the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened, for also our passover for us was sacrificed — Christ,

⁸Vậy thì, chúng ta hãy giữ lễ, chớ dùng men cũ, chớ dùng men gian ác, độc dữ, nhưng dùng bánh không men của sự thật thà và của lẽ thật.

⁸so that we may keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with unleavened food of sincerity and truth.

⁹Trong thơ tôi viết cho anh em, có dặn đừng làm bạn với kẻ gian dâm,

⁹I did write to you in the epistle, not to keep company with whoremongers —

¹⁰đó tôi chẳng có ý nói chung về kẻ gian dâm đời nầy, hay là kẻ tham lam, kẻ chắt bóp, kẻ thờ hình tượng, vì nếu vậy thì anh em phải lìa khỏi thế gian.

¹⁰and not certainly with the whoremongers of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, seeing ye ought then to go forth out of the world —

¹¹Nhưng tôi viết khuyên anh em đừng làm bạn với kẻ nào tự xưng là anh em, mà là gian dâm, hoặc tham lam, hoặc thờ hình tượng, hoặc chưởi rủa, hoặc say sưa, hoặc chắt bóp, cũng không nên ăn chung với người thể ấy.

¹¹and now, I did write to you not to keep company with [him], if any one, being named a brother, may be a whoremonger, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner — with such a one not even to eat together;

¹²Vì chưng có phải tôi nên đoán xét kẻ ở ngoài sao? Há chẳng phải anh em nên đoán xét những người ở trong sao?

¹²for what have I also those without to judge? those within do ye not judge?

¹³Còn như kẻ ở ngoài, thì Ðức Chúa Trời sẽ đoán xét họ. Hãy trừ bỏ kẻ gian ác khỏi anh em.

¹³and those without God doth judge; and put ye away the evil from among yourselves.
