¹Cuối hai mươi năm, sau khi Sa-lô-môn đã xây cất xong cái đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va và cái cung mình,

¹And it cometh to pass, at the end of twenty years, that Solomon hath built the house of Jehovah, and his own house.

²thì Sa-lô-môn cũng sửa xây lại các thành mà vua Hu-ram đã nhường cho người, và khiến cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên ở đó.

²As to the cities that Huram hath given to Solomon, Solomon hath built them, and there he causeth the sons of Israel to dwell.

³Sa-lô-môn đi đến Ha-mát-Xô-ba và thắng được.

³And Solomon goeth to Hamath-Zobah, and layeth hold upon it;

⁴Người xây thành Tát-mốt trong đồng vắng, và xây các thành dùng làm kho tàng tại xứ Ha-mát.

⁴and he buildeth Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the cities of store that he hath built in Hamath.

⁵Người cũng xây Bết-Hô-rôn trên và Bết-Hô-rôn dưới, là những thành bền vững, có vách tường, cửa và then khóa;

⁵And he buildeth Beth-Horon the upper, and Beth-Horon the lower -- cities of defence, with walls, two-leaved doors, and bar --

⁶lại xây thành Ba-lát và các thành làm kho tàng của Sa-lô-môn, các thành để chứa xe, và các thành cho lính kỵ người ở; phàm điều gì Sa-lô-môn ước ao xây cất, hoặc tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, trên Li-ban, hay là trong khắp xứ phục dưới quyền người, thì đều xây cất cả.

⁶and Baalath, and all the cities of store that Solomon had, and all the cities of the chariot, and the cities of the horsemen, and all the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

⁷Hết thảy những người còn sống sót lại trong dân Hê-tít, dân A-mô-rít, dân Phê-rê-sít, dân Hê-vít, và dân Giê-bu-sít, không thuộc về Y-sơ-ra-ên,

⁷All the people who are left of the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who are not of Israel --

⁸tức là những con cháu chúng nó hãy còn lại trong xứ, mà dân Y-sơ-ra-ên không diệt hết, thì trong chúng nó Sa-lô-môn bắt kẻ làm xâu cho đến ngày nay.

⁸of their sons who have been left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel consumed not -- doth Solomon lift up a tribute unto this day.

⁹Nhưng về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, Sa-lô-môn không bắt ai làm xâu hết, vì họ làm quân lính, quan tướng, quan cai xe, và lính kỵ c»§a ngưṀi.

⁹And none of the sons of Israel hath Solomon made servants for his work, but they [are] men of war, and heads of his captains, and heads of his charioteers, and of his horsemen;

¹⁰Còn về quan trưởng của Sa-lô-môn đặt lên để quản đốc dân sự làm công việc, số là hai trăm năm mươi người.

¹⁰and these [are] heads of the officers whom king Solomon hath, two hundred and fifty who are rulers among the people.

¹¹Sa-lô-môn sai rước công chúa Pha-ra-ôn ở thành Ða-vít lên cung mà người đã cất cho nàng; vì người nói rằng: Vợ ta chẳng nên ở trong cung Ða-vít, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, vì nơi nào hòm của Ðức Giê-hô-va đến, thì đã nên thánh rồi.

¹¹And the daughter of Pharaoh hath Solomon brought up from the city of David to the house that he built for her, for he said, `My wife doth not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for they are holy unto whom hath come the ark of Jehovah.'

¹²Bấy giờ, Sa-lô-môn dâng của lễ thiêu cho Ðức Giê-hô-va tại trên bàn thờ của Giê-hô-va mà người đã xây trước hiên cửa;

¹²Then hath Solomon caused to ascend burnt-offerings to Jehovah on the altar of Jehovah that he built before the porch,

¹³lại tùy theo lệ luật của Môi-se, người dâng mỗi ngày của lễ phải dâng, cùng trong các ngày sa-bát, ngày mồng một, và hằng năm nhằm ba lễ trọng thể, tức lễ bánh không men, lễ các tuần lễ, và lễ lều tạm.

¹³even by the matter of a day in its day, to cause to ascend according to the command of Moses, on sabbaths, and on new moons, and on appointed seasons, three times in a year -- in the feast of unleavened things, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of booths.

¹⁴Tùy theo lịnh truyền của Ða-vít, cha mình, người phân định ban thứ của những thầy tế lễ trong phần việc họ, và lập người Lê-vi trong chức sự họ, đặng ngợi khen Chúa và hầu việc tại trước mặt những thầy tế lễ, cứ công việc ngày nào theo ngày nấy; tại mỗi cửa cũng đặt kẻ giữ cửa, cứ theo phiên mình, vì Ða-vít, người của Ðức Chúa Trời, đã truyền lịnh như vậy.

¹⁴And he establisheth, according to the ordinance of David his father, the courses of the priests over their service, and of the Levites over their charges, to praise and to minister over-against the priests, according to the matter of a day in its day, and the gatekeepers in their courses at gate and gate, for so [is] the command of David the man of God.

¹⁵Phàm điều gì vua đã phán dạy hững thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi, hoặc về kho tàng hay là về việc khác, thì họ chẳng bỏ bê chút nào.

¹⁵And they have not turned aside [from] the command of the king concerning the priests and the Levites, in reference to any matter, and to the treasures.

¹⁶Vả, các tài liệu mà Sa-lô-môn dùng về việc cất đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va, đều đã sắm sửa từ ngày đặt nền cho đến khi công việc xong. Ðền của Ðức Giê-hô-va đã cất xong là như vậy.

¹⁶And all the work of Solomon is prepared till the day of the foundation of the house of Jehovah, and till its completion; perfect is the house of Jehovah.

¹⁷Khi ấy Sa-lô-môn đi đến Ê-xi-ôn-Ghê-be và Ê-lốt, tại trên mé biển, trong xứ Ê-đôm.

¹⁷Then hath Solomon gone to Ezion-Geber, and unto Elath, on the border of the sea, in the land of Edom;

¹⁸Hu-ram bởi tay các tôi tớ mình, gởi đến cho người những tàu và các thủy thủ thạo nghề đi biển; chúng đi với các tôi tớ của Sa-lô-môn đến Ô-phia, lấy tại đó bốn trăm năm mươi ta lâng vàng, và chở về cho vua Sa-lô-môn.

¹⁸and Huram sendeth to him, by the hand of his servants, ships and servants knowing the sea, and they go with servants of Solomon to Ophir, and take thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and bring in unto king Solomon.
