1Ðây là dòng dõi của Sem, Cham và Gia-phết, ba con trai của Nô-ê; sau khi lụt, họ sanh con cái.
1And these [are] births of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and born to them are sons after the deluge.
2Con trai của Gia-phết là Gô-me, Ma-gốc, Ma-đai, Gia-van, Tu-banh, Mê-siếc, và Ti-ra.
2`Sons of Japheth [are] Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3Con trai của Gô-me là Ách-kê-na, Ri-phát, và Tô-ga-ma.
3And sons of Gomer [are] Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4Con trai của Gia-van là Ê-li-sa và Ta-rê-si, Kít-sim và Ðô-đa-nim.
4And sons of Javan [are] Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5Do họ mà có người ta ở tràn ra các cù lao của các dân, tùy theo xứ, tiếng nói, chi phái và dân tộc của họ mà chia ra.
5By these have the isles of the nations been parted in their lands, each by his tongue, by their families, in their nations.
6Con trai của Cham là Cúc, Mích-ra-im, Phút và Ca-na-an.
6And sons of Ham [are] Cush, and Mitzraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
7Con trai của Cúc là Sê-ba, Ha-vi-la, Sáp-ta, Ra-ê-ma và Sáp-tê-ca; con trai của Ra-ê-ma là Sê-la và Ðê-đan.
7And sons of Cush [are] Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah; and sons of Raamah [are] Sheba and Dedan.
8Cúc sanh Nim-rốt, ấy là người bắt đầu làm anh hùng trên mặt đất.
8And Cush hath begotten Nimrod;
9Người là một tay thợ săn can đảm trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va. Bởi cớ đó, có tục ngữ rằng: Hệt như Nim-rốt, một tay thợ săn can đảm trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va!
9he hath begun to be a hero in the land; he hath been a hero in hunting before Jehovah; therefore it is said, `As Nimrod the hero [in] hunting before Jehovah.`
10Nước người sơ-lập là Ba-bên, Ê-rết, A-cát và Ca-ne ở tại xứ Si-nê-a.
10And the first part of his kingdom is Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar;
11Từ xứ đó người đến xứ A-si-ri, rồi lập thành Ni-ni-ve, Rê-hô-bô-ti, Ca-lách,
11from that land he hath gone out to Asshur, and buildeth Nineveh, even the broad places of the city, and Calah,
12Và thành Rê-sen, là thành rất lớn, ở giữa khoảng thành Ni-ni-ve và Ca-lách.
12and Resen, between Nineveh and Calah; it [is] the great city.
13Mích-ra-im sanh họ Lu-đim, họ A-na-mim, họ Lê-ha-bim, họ Náp-tu-him,
13And Mitzraim hath begotten the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,
14họ Bát-ru-sim, họ Cách-lu-him (bởi đó sanh họ Phi-li-tin), và họ Cáp-tô-rim.
14and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim, (whence have come out Philistim,) and the Caphtorim.

15And Canaan hath begotten Sidon his first-born, and Heth,

16and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
17họ Hê-vít, họ A-rê-kít, họ Si-nít,
17and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
18họ A-va-đít, họ Xê-ma-rít, họ Ha-ma-tít. Kế đó, chi tộc Ca-na-an đi tản lạc.
18and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite; and afterwards have the families of the Canaanite been scattered.
19Còn địa-phận Ca-na-an, về hướng Ghê-ra, chạy từ Si-đôn tới Ga-xa; về hướng Sô-đôm, Gô-mô-rơ, Át-ma và Sê-bô-im, chạy đến Lê-sa.
19And the border of the Canaanite is from Sidon, [in] thy coming towards Gerar, unto Gaza; [in] thy coming towards Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, unto Lasha.
20Ðó là con cháu của Cham, tùy theo họ hàng, tiếng nói, xứ và dân tộc của họ.
20These [are] sons of Ham, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.
21Sem, tổ phụ của họ Hê-be và anh cả của Gia-phết, cũng có sanh con trai.
21As to Shem, father of all sons of Eber, brother of Japheth the elder, he hath also begotten:
22Con trai của Sem là Ê-lam, A-sự-rơ, A-bác-sát, Lút và A-ram.
22Sons of Shem [are] Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23Con trai của A-ram là U-xơ, Hu-lơ, Ghê-te và Mách.
23And sons of Aram [are] Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24Còn A-bác-sát sanh Sê-lách; Sê-lách sanh Hê-be,
24And Arphaxad hath begotten Salah, and Salah hath begotten Eber.
25Hê-be sanh được hai con trai; tên của một người là Bê-léc, vì đất trong đời người đó đã chia ra; trên của người em là Giốc-tan.
25And to Eber have two sons been born; the name of the one [is] Peleg (for in his days hath the earth been divided,) and his brother`s name [is] Joktan.
26Giốc-tan sanh A-mô-đát, Sê-lép, Ha-sa-ma-vết và Giê-rách,
26And Joktan hath begotten Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
27Ha-đô-ram, U-xa, Ðiếc-la,
27and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
28Ô-banh, A-bi-ma-ên, Sê-ba,
28and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29Ô-phia, Ha-vi-la và Giô-báp. Hết thảy các người đó là con trai của Giốc-tan.
29and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these [are] sons of Joktan;
30Cõi đất của các người đó ở về phía Sê-pha, chạy từ Mê-sa cho đến núi Ðông phương.
30and their dwelling is from Mesha, [in] thy coming towards Sephar, a mount of the east.
31Ðó là con cháu của Sem, tùy theo họ hàng, tiếng nói, xứ và dân tộc của họ.
31These [are] sons of Shem, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, by their nations.
32Ấy là các họ hàng của ba con trai Nô-ê tùy theo đời và dân tộc của họ; lại cũng do nơi họ mà các dân chia ra trên mặt đất sau cơn nước lụt.
32These [are] families of the sons of Noah, by their births, in their nations, and by these have the nations been parted in the earth after the deluge.
