¹Kốn thay cho những kẻ lập luật không công bình, cho những kẻ chép lời trái lẽ,

¹Wo [to] those decreeing decrees of iniquity, And writers who have prescribed perverseness.

²cất mất sự công bình khỏi kẻ nghèo, cướp lẽ phải của kẻ khốn khó trong dân ta, lấy kẻ góa bụa làm miếng mồi, kẻ mồ côi làm của cướp!

²To turn aside from judgment the poor, And to take violently away the judgment Of the afflicted of My people, That widows may be their prey, That the fatherless they may spoil.

³Tới ngày thăm phạt, khi họa hoạn từ xa mà đến, các ngươi sẽ làm thể nào? Các ngươi trốn đến cùng ai để cầu cứu, và để sự vinh hiển mình ở nơi nào?

³And what do ye at a day of inspection? And at desolation? — from afar it cometh. Near whom do ye flee for help? And where do ye leave your honour?

⁴Chúng nó chỉ có khom lưng dưới những kẻ phu tù, và ngã dưới những kẻ bị giết! Dầu vậy, cơn giận của Chúa chẳng lánh khỏi, nhưng tay Ngài còn giơ ra.

⁴Without Me it hath bowed down In the place of a bound one, And in the place of the slain they fall. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.

⁵Hỡi A-si-ri, là cái roi của sự thạnh nộ ta! Cái gậy cầm trong tay nó là sự tức giận của ta vậy!

⁵Wo [to] Asshur, a rod of Mine anger, And a staff in their hand [is] Mine indignation.

⁶Ta sẽ sai nó nghịch cùng một nước chẳng tin kính; khiến nó đi đánh một dân mà ta nổi giận, để cướp lấy, bóc lột, và giày đạp chúng nó như bùn ngoài đường.

⁶Against a profane nation I send him, And concerning a people of My wrath I charge him, To spoil spoil, and to seize prey, And to make it a treading-place as the clay of out places.

⁷Nhưng nó không có ý thế, trong lòng nó chẳng nghĩ như vậy: lại thích phá hại, và hủy diệt nhiều dân.

⁷And he — he thinketh not so, And his heart reckoneth not so, For — to destroy [is] in his heart, And to cut off nations not a few.

⁸Vì nó nói rằng: Các quan trưởng của ta há chẳng phải đều là vua sao?

⁸For he saith, `Are not my princes altogether kings?

⁹Há lại Ca-nô chẳng như Cạt-kê-mít, Ha-mát chẳng như Aït-bát, Sa-ma-ri chẳng như Ða-mách sao?

⁹Is not Calno as Carchemish? Is not Hamath as Arpad? Is not Samaria as Damascus?

¹⁰Như tay ta đã tới đến các nước của thần tượng, tượng chạm của họ lại hơn của Giê-ru-sa-lem và Sa-ma-ri nữa,

¹⁰As my hand hath got to the kingdoms of a worthless thing, and their graven images, [Greater] than Jerusalem and than Samaria,

¹¹thì ta há chẳng sẽ làm cho Giê-ru-sa-lem và thần tượng nó cũng như ta đã làm cho Sa-ma-ri và thần tượng nó sao?

¹¹Do I not — as I have done to Samaria, And to her worthless things, So do to Jerusalem and to her grievous things?

¹²Nên sẽ xảy ra khi Chúa đã làm xong cả việc trên núi Si-ôn và tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, thì chính ta sẽ hành phạt những bông trái bởi lòng kiêu ngạo và sự vinh hiển của con mắt ngó cao của vua A-si-ri.

¹²And it hath come to pass, When the Lord doth fulfil all His work In mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I see concerning the fruit of the greatness Of the heart of the king of Asshur. And concerning the glory of the height of his eyes.

¹³Vì người nói rằng: Ta đã làm điều đó bởi sức mạnh của tay ta, bởi sự khôn ngoan ta, và ta là thông minh. Ta đã dời đổi giới hạn các dân; đã cướp của quí họ, như một người mạnh đã làm cho những kẻ đương ngồi phải xuống.

¹³For he hath said, `By the power of my hand I have wrought, And by my wisdom, for I have been intelligent, And I remove borders of the peoples, And their chief ones I have spoiled, And I put down as a mighty one the inhabitants,

¹⁴Tay ta đã tìm được của cải các dân như bắt ở chim, vơ vét cả đất như lượm trứng đã bỏ; chẳng có ai đập cánh, mở mỏ, hay là kêu hót!

¹⁴And my hand as to a nest Getteth to the wealth of the peoples, And as a gathering of forsaken eggs All the earth I — I have gathered, And there hath not been one moving wing, Or opening mouth, or whispering.`

¹⁵Cái rìu há lại khoe mình cùng người cầm rìu ư? Cái cưa há lại dấy lên nghịch cùng kẻ cầm cưa ư? Thế cũng như cái roi vận động kẻ giơ roi, cái gậy nâng đỡ cánh tay cầm gậy!

¹⁵— Doth the axe glorify itself Against him who is hewing with it? Doth the saw magnify itself Against him who is shaking it? As a rod waving those lifting it up! As a staff lifting up that which is not wood!

¹⁶Vậy nên, Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, sẽ làm cho những người mập mạnh của nó trở nên gầy mòn, và dưới sự vinh hiển nó sẽ đốt cháy lên như lửa thiêu đốt.

¹⁶Therefore doth the Lord, the Lord of Hosts, Send among his fat ones leanness, And under his honour He kindleth a burning As the burning of a fire.

¹⁷Sự sáng của Y-sơ-ra-ên sẽ trở nên lửa, Ðấng Thánh nó sẽ trở nên ngọn đèn, chỉ trong một ngày, đốt tiêu gai gốc và chà chuôm nó;

¹⁷And the light of Israel hath been for a fire, And his Holy One for a flame, And it hath burned, and devoured his thorn And his brier in one day.

¹⁸lại thiêu hủy vinh hoa của rừng cây và ruộng màu mỡ nó, các linh hồn và thân thể; như kẻ cầm cờ xí ngất đi vậy.

¹⁸And the honour of his forest, and his fruitful field, From soul even unto flesh He doth consume, And it hath been as the fainting of a standard-bearer.

¹⁹Bấy giờ những cây trên rừng nó còn sót lại chẳng là bao, một đứa bé con có thể chép lấy được.

¹⁹And the rest of the trees of his forest [are] few, And a youth doth write them.

²⁰Trong ngày đó, dân sót của Y-sơ-ra-ên, và người thoát nạn của nhà Gia-cốp, sẽ không cậy kẻ đánh mình nữa; nhưng thật lòng cậy Ðức Giê-hô-va, là Ðấng Thánh của Y-sơ-ra-ên.

²⁰And it hath come to pass, in that day, The remnant of Israel, And the escaped of the house of Jacob, Do not add any more to lean on its smiter, And have leant on Jehovah, The Holy One of Israel, in truth.

²¹Một số dân sót, tức là dân sót của Gia-cốp, sẽ trở lại cùng Ðức Chúa Trời quyền năng.

²¹A remnant returneth — a remnant of Jacob, Unto the Mighty God.

²²Hỡi Y-sơ-ra-ên, dầu dân ngươi như cát biển, chỉ một phần sót lại sẽ trở lại. Sự hủy diệt đã định, bởi vì sự công bình tràn khắp.

²²For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, A remnant doth return of it, A consumption determined, Overflowing [with] righteousness.

²³Vì Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, đã định làm trọn sự hủy diệt trong khắp đất.

²³For a consumption that is determined, The Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Is making in the midst of all the land.

²⁴Vậy có lời Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, phán như vầy: Hỡi dân ta, ngươi ở tại Si-ôn, chớ sợ người A-si-ri, dầu họ lấy roi đánh ngươi và giá gậy trên ngươi theo cách người Ê-díp-tô.

²⁴Therefore, thus said the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, `Be not afraid, my people, inhabiting Zion, because of Asshur, With a rod he doth smite thee, And his staff lifteth up against thee, in the way of Egypt.

²⁵Vì còn ít lâu nữa, ta sẽ hết giận các ngươi; cơn thạnh nộ ta trở nghịch cùng dân ấy đặng hủy diệt nó.

²⁵For yet a very little, And the indignation hath been completed, And Mine anger by their wearing out.

²⁶Bấy giờ Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân sẽ giá roi trên họ, như Ngài đã đánh giết người Ma-đi-an nơi vầng đá Hô-rếp; lại sẽ giơ gậy trên biển, sẽ giơ lên như đã làm trong xứ Ê-díp-tô.

²⁶And awaking for him is Jehovah of Hosts, A scourge like the smiting of Midian at the rock Oreb, And his rod [is] over the sea, And he hath lifted it in the way of Egypt.

²⁷Trong ngày đó, gánh nặng nó sẽ cất khỏi vai ngươi, ách nó cất khỏi cổ ngươi, ách sẽ bị gãy vì sự béo mập.

²⁷And it hath come to pass, in that day, Turned is his burden from off thy shoulder, And his yoke from off thy neck, And destroyed hath been the yoke, because of prosperity.

²⁸Nó đi đến A-giát: trải qua Mi-gơ-rôn, để đồ đạc tại Mích-ma.

²⁸He hath come in against Aiath, He hath passed over into Migron, At Michmash he looketh after his vessels.

²⁹Chúng nó vuợt qua ải, đóng trại tại Ghê-ba; Ra-ma run sợ; Ghi-bê-a của Sau-lơ chạy trốn.

²⁹They have gone over the passage, Geba they have made a lodging place, Trembled hath Rama, Gibeah of Saul fled.

³⁰Hỡi con gái Ga-lim, hãy cất tiếng kêu to! Hỡi người La-ít, hãy ghé tai mà nghe! Thương thay cho người A-na-tốt!

³⁰Cry aloud [with] thy voice, daughter of Gallim, Give attention, Laish! answer her, Anathoth.

³¹Mát-mê-na trốn tránh; dân cư Ghê-bim tìm chỗ núp.

³¹Fled away hath Madmenah, The inhabitants of the high places have hardened themselves.

³²Chính ngày đó chúng nó sẽ đóng tại Nóp, và vung tay nghịch cùng núi của con gái Si-ôn, nghịch cùng đồi của Giê-ru-sa-lem!

³²Yet to-day in Nob to remain, Wave its hand doth the mount of the daughter of Zion, The hill of Jerusalem.

³³Nầy, Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, sẽ dùng oai mạnh đốn các nhánh cây; những kẻ cao lớn đều bị chặt, những kẻ kiêu ngạo bị hạ xuống.

³³Lo, the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Is lopping a branch with violence, And the high of stature are cut down, And the lofty are become low,

³⁴Ngài dùng sắt chặt những bụi rậm trên rừng, và Li-ban bị ngã xuống bởi người mạnh sức.

³⁴And He hath gone round the thickets of the forest with iron, And Lebanon by a mighty one falleth!
