¹Trong khi Ða-vít tránh khỏi mặt Sau-lơ, con trai của Kích, thì có mấy người mạnh dạn đến cùng người, tại Xiếc-lạc giúp đỡ người trong cơn giặc.

¹Now these are those who came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war.

²Chúng đều có tài giương cung, giỏi dùng dây gióng liệng đá, cầm cung bắn tên, hoặc bằng tay hữu hay là bằng tay tả; cả đều thuộc về dòng Sau-lơ, về chi phái Bên-gia-min. Nầy là tên họ:

²They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in slinging stones and in shooting arrows from the bow: they were of Saul’s brothers of Benjamin.

³A-hi-ê-xe làm đầu, và Giô-ách, con trai của Sê-ma ở Ghi-bê-a, Giê-xi-ên và Phê-lết, con trai của Ách-ma-vết; Bê-ca-ra, Giê-hu ở A-na-tốt;

³The chief was Ahiezer; then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite, and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth, and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite,

⁴Gít-mai-gia ở Ga-ba-ôn, là kẻ mạnh dạn trong ba mươi người kia, và làm đầu họ; lại có Giê-rê-mi; Gia-ha-xi-ên; Giô-ha-nan; Giô-xa-bát ở Ghê-đê-ra;

⁴and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty, and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad the Gederathite,

⁵Ê-lu-xai; Giê-ri-mốt; Bê-a-lia; Sê-ma-ri-a; Sê-pha-ti-a ở Ha-rốp;

⁵Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,

⁶Eân-ca-na, Di-si-gia, A-xa-rên, Giô-ê-xe, và Gia-sô-bê-am, người Cô-rê;

⁶Elkanah, and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites,

⁷Giô-ê-la và Xê-ba-đia, con trai của Giê-rô-ham ở Ghê-đô.

⁷and Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.

⁸Trong chi phái Gát, có những người tới cùng Ða-vít tại nơi đồn trong đồng vắng, vốn là kẻ mạnh mẽ, có tài chiến trận, cầm khiên, cầm giáo, diện mạo như sư tử, lanh lẹ như hoàng dương trên núi.

⁸Of the Gadites there separated themselves to David to the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, that could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the roes on the mountains;

⁹Ê-xe làm đầu; Ô-ba-đia thứ nhì, Ê-li-áp thứ bảy,

⁹Ezer the chief, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,

¹⁰Mích-ma-nan thứ tư, Giê-rê-mi thứ năm,

¹⁰Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,

¹¹Aït-tai thứ sáu, Ê-li-ên thứ bảy,

¹¹Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,

¹²Giô-ha-nan thứ tám, Eân-xa-bát thứ chín,

¹²Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,

¹³Giê-rê-mi thứ mười, Mác-ba-nai thứ mười một,

¹³Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh.

¹⁴chúng đều là con cháu của Gát, và làm quan cai cơ binh; kẻ nhỏ cai một trăm người, kẻ lớn cai một ngàn người.

¹⁴These of the sons of Gad were captains of the army: he who was least was equal to one hundred, and the greatest to one thousand.

¹⁵Ấy là những kẻ đi qua sông Giô-đanh trong tháng giêng, lúc nước ngập hai bên bờ, đuổi các dân sự ở tại trũng hoặc về phía đông hay về phía tây.

¹⁵These are those who went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.

¹⁶Lại có người thuộc về Bên-gia-min và Giu-đa cũng đi tới cùng Ða-vít trong đồn người.

¹⁶There came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold to David.

¹⁷Ða-vít ra đón rước chúng, mà nói rằng: Nếu các ngươi đến cùng ta cách hòa bình để hùa giúp ta, thì lòng ta sẽ hiệp cùng các ngươi; ví bằng các ngươi thầm mưu lừa ta cho kẻ thù nghịch, nguyện Ðức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ ta xem xét và đoán phạt; vì tay ta không có phạm điều lỗi nào.

¹⁷David went out to meet them, and answered them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.”

¹⁸Khi ấy có A-ma-sai làm đầu trong ba mươi người ấy, được Thánh Linh cảm động, mà nói rằng: Hỡi Ða-vít, chúng tôi đều về ông! Hỡi con trai Y-sai, chúng tôi binh vị ông! Nguyện ông được bình yên, bình yên; nguyện kẻ giúp đỡ ông cũng được bình yên; bởi vì Ðức Chúa Trời ông phò trợ ông! Ða-vít bèn nhận tiếp các ngươi ấy, đặt làm tướng.

¹⁸Then the Spirit came on Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said, “We are yours, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse: peace, peace be to you, and peace be to your helpers; for your God helps you.” Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

¹⁹Cũng có mấy người thuộc về Mê-na-se đến theo Ða-vít khi người cùng quân Phi-li-tin đi giao chiến cùng Sau-lơ; song họ chẳng giúp đỡ quân Phi-li-tin, vì các quan trưởng Phi-li-tin bàn luận nhau rằng: Sợ e nó trở về cùng Sau-lơ, chủ nó, làm nguy cho đầu chúng ta chăng.

¹⁹Of Manasseh also there fell away some to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle; but they didn’t help them; for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, “He will fall away to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.”

²⁰Khi người trở về Xiếc-lạc, có mấy người bởi Mê-na-se đến theo người, là Át-na, Giô-xa-bát, Ê-li-hu, và Xi-lê-thai, đều làm quan-cai ngàn quân trong chi phái Mê-na-se.

²⁰As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands who were of Manasseh.

²¹Những kẻ nầy phụ giúp Ða-vít đối địch với quân giặc cướp, bởi vì chúng đều là người mạnh dạn, và làm quan tướng đội binh.

²¹They helped David against the band of rovers: for they were all mighty men of valor, and were captains in the army.

²²Hằng ngày có người đến cùng Ða-vít đặng giúp đỡ người, cho đến khi thành đội quân lớn, như đội quân của Ðức Chúa Trời.

²²For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army, like the army of God.

²³Ðây là số các quân lính đến cùng Ða-vít tại Hếp-rôn, đặng làm cho nước Sau-lơ thuộc về người, theo như lời của Ðức Giê-hô-va.

²³These are the numbers of the heads of those who were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of Yahweh.

²⁴Trong con cháu Giu-đa có sáu ngàn tám trăm người đều cầm khiên, cầm giáo, sắm sửa tranh chiến.

²⁴The children of Judah who bore shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.

²⁵Bởi con cháu Si-mê-ôn, có bảy ngàn một trăm người mạnh dạn đều ra trận được.

²⁵Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

²⁶Bởi con cháu Lê-vi, có bốn ngàn sáu trăm.

²⁶Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.

²⁷Giê-hô-gia-đa cai quản nhà A-rôn, và với người có ba ngàn bảy trăm người.

²⁷Jehoiada was the leader of the household of Aaron; and with him were three thousand and seven hundred,

²⁸Lại có Xa-đốc, là kẻ trai trẻ mạnh dạn, và với người có hai mươi hai trưởng của nhà cha người.

²⁸and Zadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father’s house twenty-two captains.

²⁹Về con cháu Bên-gia-min, anh em của Sau-lơ, được ba ngàn người; vì đến bấy giờ, phần lớn hơn chúng nó còn đương theo nhà Sau-lơ.

²⁹Of the children of Benjamin, the brothers of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.

³⁰Về con cháu Ép-ra-im, có được hai vạn tám trăm người, đều là người mạnh dạn, có danh tiếng trong nhà cha mình.

³⁰Of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand eight hundred, mighty men of valor, famous men in their fathers’ houses.

³¹Về nửa chi phái Mê-na-se, có một vạn tám ngàn người, ai nấy đều kể từng tên, đến đặng lập Ða-vít làm vua.

³¹Of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.

³²Về con cháu Y-sa-ca, có những kẻ hiểu biết thì giờ, và việc dân Y-sơ-ra-ên nên làm; chúng nó hai trăm trưởng tộc; còn những người anh em chúng cũng vâng lịnh chúng bàn.

³²Of the children of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their heads were two hundred; and all their brothers were at their commandment.

³³Về Sa-bu-lôn, có năm vạn người hay bày trận, cầm các thứ binh khí dự bị đặng giao chiến, hàng ngũ chỉnh tề, có một lòng một dạ.

³³Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array, with all kinds of instruments of war, fifty thousand, and who could command and were not of double heart.

³⁴Về Nép-ta-li, có một ngàn quan cai, với ba vạn bảy ngàn người cầm khiên cầm giáo theo mình.

³⁴Of Naphtali one thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty-seven thousand.

³⁵Về Ðan, có hai vạn tám ngàn sau trăm người có tài dàn trận.

³⁵Of the Danites who could set the battle in array, twenty-eight thousand six hundred.

³⁶Về A-se, có bốn vạn người hay kéo ra chinh chiến, và có tài dàn trận.

³⁶Of Asher, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array, forty thousand.

³⁷Còn về Ru-bên, Gát, và về nửa chi phái Mê-na-se ở bên kia sông Giô-đanh, có mười hai vạn người cầm các thứ binh khí sẵn ra trận.

³⁷On the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all kinds of instruments of war for the battle, one hundred twenty thousand.

³⁸Những người nầy là lính chiến có tài bày trận, đều lấy lòng thành mà kéo đến Hếp-rôn đặng lập Ða-vít làm vua trên cả Y-sơ-ra-ên; còn những người khác trong Y-sơ-ra-ên cũng đều một lòng một dạ muốn tôn Ða-vít làm vua.

³⁸All these being men of war, who could order the battle array, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

³⁹Chúng ở lại với vua Ða-vít ba ngày và ăn uống; vì anh em của chúng đã sắm sẵn cho.

³⁹They were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brothers had made preparation for them.

⁴⁰Còn những người ở miền lân cận hơn cho đến đất Y-sa-ca, Sa-bu-lôn, và Nép-ta-li đều đem chở bằng lửa, lạc đà, con la, và con bò, nào bánh mì, bột miến, trái vả, nho khô, rượu, dầu, cùng dẫn bò và chiên đến rất nhiều, bởi vì có sự vui vẻ nơi Y-sơ-ra-ên.

⁴⁰Moreover those who were near to them, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, food of meal, cakes of figs, and clusters of raisins, and wine, and oil, and cattle, and sheep in abundance: for there was joy in Israel.
