1Bấy giờ, Sa-lô-môn vời đến mình, ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, các trưởng lão Y-sơ-ra-ên, hết thảy các quan trưởng của chi phái, và những trưởng tộc của Y-sơ-ra-ên, đặng rước hòm giao ước của Ðức Giê-hô-va từ thành của Ða-vít, tức là Si-ôn.
1Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion.
2Trong lúc lễ, nhằm tháng Ê-tha-ninh, là tháng bảy, hết thảy người nam của Y-sơ-ra-ên đều nhóm lại cùng vua Sa-lô-môn.
2All the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
3Khi các trưởng lão Y-sơ-ra-ên đã đến, thì những thầy tế lễ lấy hòm của Ðức Giê-hô-va,
3All the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
4dời đi luôn với Ðền tạm. Những thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi khiêng các đồ đó lên.
4They brought up the ark of Yahweh, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these the priests and the Levites brought up.
5Vua Sa-lô-môn và cả hội chúng Y-sơ-ra-ên đã hiệp với người, và đứng trước hòm, giết bò và chiên làm của lễ rất nhiều, không thế đếm được.
5King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.
6Những thầy tế lễ đem hòm giao ước của Ðức Giê-hô-va đến nơi nó, trong nơi chí thánh, dưới cánh chê-ru-bin.
6The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.
7Vì các chê-ru-bin giương cánh ra trên nơi để hòm, che thân trên hòm và các đòn khiêng.
7For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.
8Các đòn khiêng dài, đến nỗi người ta, từ nơi thánh ở trước nơi chí thánh, có thể thấy được, nhưng ở ngoài thì chẳng thấy. Các đòn ấy ở đó cho đến ngày nay.
8The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the holy place before the oracle; but they were not seen outside: and there they are to this day.
9Trong hòm chỉ có hai bảng đá mà Môi-se đã để, tại núi Hô-rếp, khi Ðức Giê-hô-va lập giao ước với dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, lúc họ ra khỏi xứ Ê-díp-tô.
9There was nothing in the ark except the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
10Xảy ra khi những thầy tế lễ đã ra khỏi nơi thành, bèn có mây đầy dẫy nhà của Ðức Giê-hô-va,
10It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Yahweh,
11đến nỗi những thầy tế lễ vì có mây ấy không thể đứng đó mà hầu việc được, vì sự vinh quang của Ðức Giê-hô-va đầy dẫy đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va.
11so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of Yahweh filled the house of Yahweh.
12Bấy giờ, Sa-lô-môn nguyện rằng: Ðức Giê-hô-va có phán rằng Ngài ngự trong nơi tối tăm mờ mịt.
12Then Solomon said, “Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
13Hỡi Ðức Chúa Trời! tôi đã cất xong một cái đền dùng làm nơi ngự của Ngài, tức một nơi Ngài ở đời đời.
13I have surely built you a house of habitation, a place for you to dwell in forever.”
14Ðoạn, vua xây lại, và chúc phước cho hội chúng Y-sơ-ra-ên. Cả hội chúng Y-sơ-ra-ên đều đứng.
14The king turned his face about, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.
15Người nói rằng: Ðáng ngợi khen Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, vì từ miệng Ngài có phán hứa với Ða-vít, cha ta, và bởi tay Ngài đã làm ứng nghiệm lời ấy; Ngài phán rằng:
15He said, “Blessed is Yahweh, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David your father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
16Từ ngày ta đã đem Y-sơ-ra-ên ta ra khỏi Ê-díp-tô, ta không chọn thành nào trong các chi phái Y-sơ-ra-ên đặng cất tại đó một cái nhà cho danh ta ngự; nhưng ta đã chọn Ða-vít để người trị vì dân Y-sơ-ra-ên ta.
16‘Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.’
17Vả, Ða-vít, cha ta, có ý cất một cái đền cho danh Giê-hô-va, là Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên.
17“Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
18Nhưng Ðức Giê-hô-va có phán với Ða-vít, cha ta, rằng: Khi ngươi có ý xây đền cho danh ta, thì lấy làm thậm phải;
18But Yahweh said to David my father, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.
19song ngươi sẽ chẳng cất đền ấy đâu, bèn là con trai ngươi, do lòng ngươi sanh ra, sẽ cất đền cho danh ta.
19Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come forth out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’
20Vậy, Ðức Giê-hô-va đã làm ứng nghiệm lời Ngài phán; vì ta kế vị Ða-vít, cha ta, ngồi trên ngôi Y-sơ-ra-ên, y như Ðức Giê-hô-va đã hứa, và ta đã cất đền này cho danh Giê-hô-va, là Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên.
20Yahweh has established his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
21Tại đó, ta đã dọn một chỗ để hòm; trong hòm có sự giao ước mà Ngài đã lập với tổ phụ chúng ta, khi Ngài đem họ ra khỏi xứ Ê-díp-tô.
21There I have set a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of Yahweh, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.”
22Kế đó, Sa-lô-môn đứng trước bàn thờ của Ðức Giê-hô-va, đối mặt cả hội chúng Y-sơ-ra-ên, bèn giơ tay lên trời, mà rằng:
22Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;
23Lạy Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên! hoặc trên trời cao kia, hoặc dưới đất thấp này, chẳng có một thần nào giống như Chúa. Chúa giữ sự giao ước và lòng nhơn từ với kẻ tôi tớ Chúa, là kẻ nào hết lòng đi ở trước mặt Chúa.
23and he said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants, who walk before you with all their heart;
24Ðối cùng tôi tớ Chúa, là Ða-vít, cha tôi, Chúa có giữ lời Ngài đã hứa với người. Thật, hễ điều chi miệng Chúa phán, thì tay Chúa đã làm hoàn thành, y như chúng tôi thấy ngày nay.
24who have kept with your servant David my father that which you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.
25Vậy, hỡi Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên! ngày nay xin làm trọn lời Chúa đã hứa cùng tôi tớ Chúa, là Ða-vít, cha tôi, rằng: Nếu con cháu ngươi cẩn thận các đường lối mình, đi ở trước mặt ta, y như ngươi đã đi, thì trước mặt ta sẽ chẳng hề thiếu một kẻ hậu tự ngươi đặng ngồi trên ngôi nước Y-sơ-ra-ên đâu.
25Now therefore, may Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.’
26Hỡi Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên! xin hãy làm cho ứng nghiệm lời Chúa đã hứa cùng kẻ tôi tớ Chúa, là Ða-vít, cha tôi.
26“Now therefore, God of Israel, please let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.
27Nhưng quả thật rằng Ðức Chúa Trời ngự trên đất này chăng? Kìa, trời, dầu đến đỗi trời của các từng trời chẳng có thể chứa Ngài được thay, phương chi cái đền này tôi đã cất!
27But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house that I have built!
28Dầu vậy, hỡi Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời tôi! xin hãy đoái đến lời cầu nguyện và sự nài xin của kẻ tôi tớ Chúa. đặng nghe tiếng kêu cầu và khẩn nguyện mà kẻ tôi tớ Chúa cầu trước mặt Chúa ngày nay.
28Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant, and for his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you this day;
29Nguyện mắt của Chúa ngày và đêm đoái xem nhà nầy, là chỗ mà Chúa đã phán rằng: Danh ta sẽ ngự tại đó, đặng nghe lời cầu nguyện của tôi tớ Chúa hướng nơi này mà cầu.
29that your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, ‘My name shall be there;’ to listen to the prayer which your servant shall pray toward this place.
30Phàm điều gì tôi tớ Chúa và dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của Chúa sẽ hướng về nơi này mà khẩn cầu, xin Chúa hãy dủ nghe; phải, ở nơi ngự của Chúa, tại trên các từng trời, xin Chúa dủ nghe, nhậm lời, và tha thứ cho.
30Listen to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place. Yes, hear in heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.
31Khi ai phạm tội cùng kẻ lân cận mình, và người ta bắt đi đó phải thề, nếu người đến thề trước bàn thờ của Chúa, tại trong đền này,
31“If a man sins against his neighbor, and an oath is laid on him to cause him to swear, and he comes and swear before your altar in this house;
32thì xin Chúa ở trên trời hãy nghe, đối đãi và xét đoán tôi tớ Chúa, mà lên án cho kẻ dữ, khiến đường lối nó đổ lại trên đầu nó, và xưng công bình cho người công bình, và thưởng ngươi tùy theo sự công bình của người.
32then hear in heaven, and do, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way on his own head, and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
33Khi dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của Chúa, vì cớ phạm tội với Chúa, bị kẻ tù nghịch đánh được; nếu chúng nó trở lại với Chúa, nhận biết danh Ngài và cầu nguyện nài xin với Chúa trong đền này,
33“When your people Israel are struck down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you; if they turn again to you, and confess your name, and pray and make supplication to you in this house:
34thì xin Chúa ở trên trời hãy dủ nghe, tha tội cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của Chúa, và khiến họ trở về đất mà Chúa đã ban cho tổ phụ họ.
34then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to their fathers.
35Nếu các từng trời bị đóng chặt, không có mưa, bởi vì chúng nó đã phạm tội với Chúa, nếu chúng nó hướng về nơi này mà cầu nguyện, nhận biết danh Chúa, xây bỏ tội lỗi mình, sau khi Chúa đã đoán phạt họ,
35“When the sky is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:
36thì xin Chúa ở trên trời hãy dủ nghe, tha tội cho các tôi tớ Chúa, và cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của Ngài. Xin hãy chỉ cho họ con đường thiện mà họ phải đi, và giáng mưa trên đất của Chúa đã ban cho dân Ngài làm sản nghiệp.
36then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.
37Khi trong xứ xảy có đói kém, ôn dịch, hạn hán, ten sét, cào cào, châu chấu, hoặc có quân thù nghịch vây các thành của địa phận họ, hay là có tai vạ chi, tật bịnh gì;
37“If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight, mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there is;
38nếu có một người hoặc cả dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của Chúa, ai nấy đã nhận biết tai họa của lòng mình, mà giơ tay ra hướng về đền này, và cầu nguyện, khẩn xin vô luận điều gì,
38whatever prayer and supplication is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who shall each know the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
39thì xin Chúa ở trên trời, là nơi Chúa ngự, dủ nghe, và tha thứ cho, đối đãi, báo ứng mỗi người tùy theo công việc họ, vì Chúa thông biết lòng của họ (thật chỉ một mình Chúa biết lòng của con cái loài người),
39then hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the children of men;)
40để khiến họ kính sợ Chúa trọn đời họ sống ở trên đất mà Chúa đã ban cho tổ phụ chúng tôi.
40that they may fear you all the days that they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.
41Vả lại, về khách lạ, là người chẳng thuộc về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của Chúa, nhưng vì danh Ngài từ xứ xa đến
41“Moreover concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for your name’s sake
42(vì người ngoại bang sẽ nghe nói về danh lớn của Chúa, về cánh tay quyền năng giơ thẳng ra của Chúa), khi người đến cầu nguyện trong nhà này,
42(for they shall hear of your great name, and of your mighty hand, and of your outstretched arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house;
43xin Chúa ở trên trời, là nơi Chúa ngự, dủ nghe và làm theo mọi điều người khách lạ sẽ cầu xin Chúa để cho muôn dân của thế gian nhận biết danh Chúa, kính sợ Chúa, y như dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của Ngài, và cho biết rằng danh Chúa xưng ra trên đền này mà tôi đã xây cất.
43hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name.
44Khi dân của Chúa đi chiến trận cùng quân thù nghịch mình, theo con đường Chúa đã sai đi, nếu họ cầu khẩn Ðức Giê-hô-va xây mặt hướng về thành Chúa đã chọn, và về đền tôi đã cất cho danh Ngài,
44“If your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to Yahweh toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name;
45thì xin Chúa ở trên trời, hãy dủ nghe các lời cầu nguyện nài xin của chúng, và binh vực quyền lợi cho họ.
45then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
46Khi chúng nó phạm tội cùng Chúa (vì không có người nào chẳng phạm tội) và Chúa nổi giận, phó chúng nó cho kẻ thù nghịch; khi họ bị bắt làm phu tù đến xứ của kẻ thù nghịch, hoặc xa hoặc gần,
46If they sin against you (for there is no man who doesn’t sin), and you are angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive to the land of the enemy, far off or near;
47ví bằng trong xứ mà họ bị tù, họ nghĩ lại, ăn năn, và nài xin Chúa mà rằng: "Chúng tôi có phạm tội, làm điều gian ác, và cư xử cách dữ tợn;"
47yet if they shall repent in the land where they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication to you in the land of those who carried them captive, saying, ‘We have sinned, and have done perversely; we have dealt wickedly;’
48nhược bằng tại trong xứ mà thù nghịch đã dẫn họ đến làm phu tù, họ hết lòng hết ý trở lại cùng Chúa, cầu nguyện cùng Ngài, mặt hướng về xứ mà Chúa đã ban cho tổ phụ họ, về thành mà Chúa đã chọn, và về đền mà tôi đã xây cất cho danh Chúa,
48if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name:
49thì xin Chúa ở trên trời, tức nơi Chúa ngự, hãy dủ nghe lời cầu nguyện nài xin của họ, và binh vực quyền nài xin của họ, và binh vực quyền lợi cho họ;
49then hear their prayer and their supplication in heaven, your dwelling place, and maintain their cause;
50tha cho dân Chúa tội lỗi và các sự trái mạng mà họ đã phạm cùng Ngài; xin Chúa khiến những kẻ bắt họ làm phu tù có lòng thương xót họ,
50and forgive your people who have sinned against you, and all their transgressions in which they have transgressed against you; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them
51vì dân Y-sơ-ra-ên vốn là dân sự Chúa, cơ nghiệp của Chúa, mà Chúa đã đem ra khỏi Ê-díp-tô, tức khỏi giữa lò sắt.
51(for they are your people, and your inheritance, which you brought out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron);
52Nguyện Chúa đoái xem kẻ tôi tớ Chúa và dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của Ngài, dủ nghe lời cầu nguyện nài xin của họ, mỗi lần họ kêu cầu cùng Chúa.
52that your eyes may be open to the supplication of your servant, and to the supplication of your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they cry to you.
53Hỡi Chúa Giê-hô-va ôi! Chúa đã phân cách họ khỏi các dân tộc trên đất, để họ làm cơ nghiệp Chúa, y như Chúa đã phán bởi miệng Môi-se, là tôi tớ Chúa, khi Chúa đem tổ phụ chúng tôi ra khỏi Ê-díp-tô.
53For you separated them from among all the peoples of the earth, to be your inheritance, as you spoke by Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, Lord Yahweh.”
54Khi Sa-lô-môn đã cầu với Ðức Giê-hô-va những lời khẩn nguyện nài xin này xong, bèn đứng dậy trước bàn thờ Ðức Giê-hô-va, khỏi nơi người đã quì, tay giơ lên trời.
54It was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to Yahweh, he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.
55Người đứng chúc phước lớn tiếng cho cả hội chúng Y-sơ-ra-ên, mà rằng:
55He stood, and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying,
56Ðáng khen ngợi Ðức Giê-hô-va, là Ðấng đã ban sự bình yên cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của Ngài, tùy theo các lời Ngài đã hứa! Về các lời tốt lành mà Ngài đã cậy miệng Môi-se, kẻ tôi tớ Ngài, phán ra, chẳng có một lời nào không ứng nghiệm.
56“Blessed be Yahweh, who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. There has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant.
57Nguyện Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời chúng tôi ở với chúng tôi, như Ngài đã ở cùng tổ phụ chúng tôi, chớ lìa, chớ bỏ chúng tôi;
57May Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. Let him not leave us, nor forsake us;
58nguyện Ngài giục lòng chúng tôi hướng về Ngài, hầu chúng tôi đi trong mọi đường lối Ngài, giữ những điều răn, luật pháp, và mạng lịnh của Ngài đã truyền cho tổ phụ chúng tôi.
58that he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his ordinances, which he commanded our fathers.
59Ước gì Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời chúng ta ngày đêm dủ lòng nhớ đến các lời ta đã nài xin trước mặt Ngài, hầu cho tùy việc cần ngày nào theo ngày nấy, Ðức Giê-hô-va binh vực quyền lợi của tôi tớ Ngài và của dân Y-sơ-ra-ên;
59Let these my words, with which I have made supplication before Yahweh, be near to Yahweh our God day and night, that he may maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as every day shall require;
60hầu cho muôn dân của thế gian biết rằng Giê-hô-va là Ðức Chúa Trời, chớ chẳng có ai khác.
60that all the peoples of the earth may know that Yahweh, he is God. There is none else.
61Vậy, các ngươi khá lấy lòng trọn lành đối với Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời chúng ta, để đi theo luật lệ Ngài và giữ gìn điều răn của Ngài, y như các ngươi đã làm ngày nay.
61“Let your heart therefore be perfect with Yahweh our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.”
62Vua và cả Y-sơ-ra-ên đều dâng các của lễ tại trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va.
62The king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before Yahweh.
63Sa-lô-môn dâng của lễ thù ân cho Ðức Giê-hô-va, hai muôn hai ngàn con bò đực và mười hai muôn con chiên. Vua và cả dân Y-sơ-ra-ên đều dự lễ khánh thành đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va là như vậy.
63Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to Yahweh, two and twenty thousand head of cattle, and one hundred twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of Yahweh.
64Trong ngày đó, vua biệt riêng ra nơi chính giữa của hành lang ở trước đền thờ của Ðức Giê-hô-va, vì tại đó người dâng các của lễ thiêu, của lễ chay, và mỡ về của lễ thù ân; bởi vì bàn thờ bằng đồng để trước đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va là nhỏ quá, đựng các của lễ thù ân không đặng.
64The same day the king made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of Yahweh; for there he offered the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that was before Yahweh was too little to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings.
65Trong lúc đó, Sa-lô-môn và cả dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, một hội chúng rất lớn, ở từ miền Ha-mát cho đến khe Ê-díp-tô, hiệp tại trước mặt Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời chúng ta, mà giữ lễ trong bảy ngày, lại bảy ngày khác nữa, cộng mười bốn ngày.
65So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt, before Yahweh our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.
66Ngày thứ tám, vua cho dân sự về; dân chúc phước cho vua, đi trở về trại mình, lấy làm mừng rỡ vui lòng về mọi sự tốt lành mà Ðức Giê-hô-va đã làm cho Ða-vít, kẻ tôi tớ Ngài, và cho Y-sơ-ra-ên, dân sự của Ngài.
66On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David his servant, and to Israel his people.
