¹Ma-na-se được mười hai tuổi khi người lên làm vua; người cai trị năm mươi lăm năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ người tên là Hép-si-ba.

¹Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Hephzibah.

²Người làm điều ác trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va và theo sự thờ phượng gớm ghiếc của các dân tộc mà Ðức Giê-hô-va đã đuổi khỏi trước mặt dân Y-sơ-ra-ên.

²He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

³Người sửa xây lại các nơi cao mà Ê-xê-chia, cha người phá hủy, lập bàn thờ cho Ba-anh, dựng hình tượng A-sê-ra giống như của A-háp, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, đã làm, cúng thờ toàn cơ binh trên trời và hầu việc nó.

³For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.

⁴Người cũng lập bàn thờ trong đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va, mà Ðức Giê-hô-va có phán về đền thờ rằng: Ấy tại nơi Giê-ru-sa-lem ta để danh ta ngự.

⁴He built altars in the house of Yahweh, of which Yahweh said, “I will put my name in Jerusalem.”

⁵Người xây những bàn thờ cho toàn cơ binh trên trời, tại nơi hai hành lang về đền thờ của Ðức Giê-hô-va.

⁵He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of the house of Yahweh.

⁶Người đưa con trai mình qua lửa, tập tành phép thiên văn và việc bói điềm; lập lên những đồng cốt và thầy bói. Người làm điều ác trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va quá chừng, chọc giận Ngài hoài.

⁶He made his son to pass through the fire, and practiced sorcery, and used enchantments, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he worked much evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.

⁷Còn hình tượng A-sê-ra mà người đã làm, thì người dựng trong đền thờ mà Ðức Giê-hô-va có phán với Ða-vít và Sa-lô-môn, con trai người, rằng: Ấy trong đền này và trong Giê-ru-sa-lem, thành ta đã chọn trong các chi phái Y-sơ-ra-ên, mà ta sẽ đặt danh ta ngự đời đời.

⁷He set the engraved image of Asherah, that he had made, in the house of which Yahweh said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name forever;

⁸Nếu Y-sơ-ra-ên lo gìn giữ mọi điều ta đã phán dạy, mọi luật pháp mà Môi-se, tôi tớ ta, đã truyền cho chúng nó, thì ta sẽ chẳng để dân Y-sơ-ra-ên đi xiêu lạc ngoài xứ mà ta đã ban cho tổ phụ chúng nó.

⁸neither will I cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.”

⁹Nhưng chúng nó không nghe; chúng nó bị Ma-na-se quyến dụ làm gian ác hơn các dân tộc mà Ðức Giê-hô-va đã tuyệt diệt khỏi trước mặt dân Y-sơ-ra-ên.

⁹But they didn’t listen: and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than the nations did whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel.

¹⁰Ðức Giê-hô-va bèn cậy các tiên tri, là tôi tớ Ngài, mà phán rằng:

¹⁰Yahweh spoke by his servants the prophets, saying,

¹¹Vì Ma-na-se, vua Giu-đa, đã phạm những sự gớm ghiếc ấy, và có làm ác hơn mọi điều dân A-mô-rít đã làm trước người, cùng quyến dụ Giu-đa phạm tội với hình tượng nó,

¹¹“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has made Judah also to sin with his idols;

¹²vì cớ đó, Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên phán như vầy: Kìa, ta sẽ giáng trên Giê-ru-sa-lem và trên Giu-đa những tai họa cả thể, đến đỗi phàm ai nghe nói đến phải lùng bùng lỗ tai.

¹²therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, I bring such evil on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle.

¹³Ta sẽ giáng trên Giê-ru-sa-lem dây đo Sa-ma-ri và căn nhà của A-háp. Ta sẽ xóa sạch Giê-ru-sa-lem như người ta chùi rửa cái dĩa, rồi úp nó xuống sau khi rửa xong.

¹³I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

¹⁴Ta sẽ từ bỏ phần còn sót lại về sản nghiệp ta, phó chúng nó vào tay thù nghịch chúng nó; chúng nó sẽ trở thành hóa tài và miếng mồi của họ;

¹⁴I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies. They will become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;

¹⁵vì chúng nó làm những điều ác trước mặt ta, chọc giận ta, từ ngày tổ phụ chúng nó ra khỏi Ê-díp-tô cho đến ngày nay.

¹⁵because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even to this day.’”

¹⁶Ma-na-se cũng đổ nhiều huyết vô tội ra, đến đỗi Giê-ru-sa-lem bị ngập từ đầu này đến đầu kia. Lại phụ thêm những tội lỗi người phạm gây cho Giu-đa phạm tội nữa, và làm điều ác trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va.

¹⁶Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.

¹⁷Các chuyện khác của Ma-na-se, những công việc người, và tội người đã phạm, đều chép trong sử ký về các vua Giu-đa.

¹⁷Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

¹⁸Ma-na-se an giấc với tổ phụ người, được chôn trong vườn của đền người, tức trong vườn U-xa, A-môn, con trai người, cai trị thế cho người.

¹⁸Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his place.

¹⁹Khi A-môn lên làm vua, tuổi được hai mươi hai; người cai trị hai năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ người tên là Mê-su-lê-mết, con gái của Ha-rút, cháu của Giô-ba.

¹⁹Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

²⁰Người làm điều ác trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va, y như Ma-na-se, cha người, đã làm.

²⁰He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as Manasseh his father did.

²¹Người đi theo y một đường của cha người, hầu việc hình tượng mà cha người đã hầu việc, và quì lạy trước mặt chúng nó.

²¹He walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshiped them:

²²Người lìa bỏ Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ mình, không đi theo con đường của Ðức Giê-hô-va.

²²and he forsook Yahweh, the God of his fathers, and didn’t walk in the way of Yahweh.

²³Vả, những tôi tớ của A-môn mưu phản người, và giết người tại trong đền vua.

²³The servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.

²⁴Nhưng dân của xứ giết hết thảy những kẻ phản nghịch vua A-môn, và tôn Giô-si-a, con trai người, lên làm vua thế cho người.

²⁴But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

²⁵Các chuyện khác của A-môn, và công việc người làm, đều chép trong sử ký về các vua Giu-đa.

²⁵Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

²⁶Người được chôn trong mồ mả người nơi vườn U-xa; rồi Giô-si-a, con trai người, kế vị người.

²⁶He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his place.
