¹Ða-vít lại nhóm hiệp hết thảy những người kén chọn của Y-sơ-ra-ên, số chừng ba vạn người.

¹David again gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.

²Ðoạn, người chỗi dậy, có và dân sự đồng theo, đi từ Ba-lê ở xứ Giu-đa đặng thỉnh hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời lên; trước hòm ấy dân cầu khẩn danh Chúa, tức là chánh danh Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, vẫn ngự ở giữa chê-ru-bin tại trên hòm ấy.

²David arose, and went with all the people who were with him, from Baale Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, even the name of Yahweh of Armies who sits above the cherubim.

³Chúng để hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời trên một cái xe mới, rồi đem đi khỏi nhà A-bi-na-đáp, ở tại trên gò nỗng; U-xa và A-hi-giô, con trai A-bi-na-đáp, dẫn cái xe mới đó.

³They set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in the hill: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.

⁴Vậy, chúng dời hòm khỏi nhà A-bi-na-đáp ở tại trên gò nỗng: U-xa đi gần bên hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời, còn A-hi-giô đi trước hòm.

⁴They brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in the hill, with the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.

⁵Ða-vít và cả nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên đều múa hát trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va với đủ thứ nhạc khí bằng gỗ bá hương, đờn cầm, đờn sắt, trống, bạt, và mã la.

⁵David and all the house of Israel played before Yahweh with all kinds of instruments made of fir wood, and with harps, and with stringed instruments, and with tambourines, and with castanets, and with cymbals.

⁶Khi đến sân đạp lúc của Na-côn, U-xa giơ tay lên nắm hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời, bởi vì những con bò vấp ngã.

⁶When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached for the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the cattle stumbled.

⁷Cơn thạnh nộ của Ðức Giê-hô-va bèn nổi phừng cùng U-xa; Ðức Chúa Trời hành hại người vì cớ lầm lỗi người, và người chết tại đó, gần bên hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời.

⁷The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Uzzah; and God struck him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

⁸Ða-vít lấy làm buồn thảm, vì Ðức Giê-hô-va đã hành hại U-xa, và người ta gọi chỗ ấy là Hành hại U-xa cho đến ngày nay.

⁸David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken forth on Uzzah; and he called that place Perez Uzzah, to this day.

⁹Trong ngày đó, Ða-vít sợ Ðức Giê-hô-va và nói rằng: Hòm của Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ thế nào vào nhà ta được?

⁹David was afraid of Yahweh that day; and he said, “How shall the ark of Yahweh come to me?”

¹⁰Vậy Ða-vít không muốn để hòm của Ðức Giê-hô-va đến nhà mình tại trong thành Ða-vít; bèn biểu dẫn vào trong nhà Ô-bết-Ê-đôm, là người Gát.

¹⁰So David would not move the ark of Yahweh to be with him in the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

¹¹Như vậy, hòm của Ðức Giê-hô-va ở ba tháng trong nhà Ô-bết-Ê-đôm, người Gát; Ðức Giê-hô-va ban phước cho Ô-bết-Ê-đôm và cả nhà người.

¹¹The ark of Yahweh remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months: and Yahweh blessed Obed-Edom, and all his house.

¹²Người ta đến nói cùng vua Ða-vít rằng: Ðức Giê-hô-va đã ban phước cho nhà Ô-bết-Ê-đôm và mọi vật thuộc về người, vì cớ hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời. Ða-vít bèn đi thỉnh hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời ở nhà Ô-bết-Ê-đôm đến trong thành Ða-vít cách rất vui mừng.

¹²It was told king David, saying, “Yahweh has blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that pertains to him, because of the ark of God.” David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom into the city of David with joy.

¹³Khi những người khiêng hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời đã đi sáu bước, thì Ða-vít tế một con bò đực và một con thú mập béo.

¹³It was so, that, when those who bore the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened calf.

¹⁴Ða-vít mặc áo ê-phót vải gai, nhảy múa hết sức tại trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va.

¹⁴David danced before Yahweh with all his might; and David was clothed in a linen ephod.

¹⁵Ấy Ða-vít và cả nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên lấy tiếng vui mừng và tiếng kèn thổi mà thỉnh hòm của Ðức Giê-hô-va lên là như vậy.

¹⁵So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of Yahweh with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

¹⁶Nhưng khi hòm của Ðức Giê-hô-va vào thành Ða-vít, thì Mi-canh, con gái của Sau-lơ, dòm ngang qua cửa sổ, thấy Ða-vít múa nhảy trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va, thì trong lòng khinh bỉ người.

¹⁶It was so, as the ark of Yahweh came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before Yahweh; and she despised him in her heart.

¹⁷Vậy, chúng đem hòm của Ðức Giê-hô-va vào, đặt tại chỗ, giữa trại Ða-vít đã dựng cho hòm đó; rồi Ða-vít dâng của lễ thiêu và của lễ thù ân tại trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va.

¹⁷They brought in the ark of Yahweh, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yahweh.

¹⁸Khi Ða-vít đã dâng của lễ thiêu và các của lễ thù ân, thì người nhơn danh Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân mà chúc phước cho dân sự;

¹⁸When David had made an end of offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of Armies.

¹⁹người phát cho hết thảy dân chúng Y-sơ-ra-ên, bất luận nam hay nữ, mỗi người một ổ bánh, một miếng thịt, và một bánh nho. Ðoạn, hết thảy ai về nhà nấy.

¹⁹He gave to all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to everyone a portion of bread, dates, and raisins. So all the people departed everyone to his house.

²⁰Ða-vít cũng trở về đặng chúc phước cho nhà mình; nhưng Mi-canh, con gái của Sau-lơ, đến đón người, mà nói rằng: Hôm nay vua Y-sơ-ra-ên được vinh hiển thay, mà ở trần trước mặt các con đòi của tôi tớ vua, làm như một kẻ không ra gì vậy!

²⁰Then David returned to bless his household. Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious the king of Israel was today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”

²¹Ða-vít đáp với Mi-canh rằng: Ấy tại trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va, là Ðấng đã chọn lấy ta làm hơn cha nàng và cả nhà người, lập ta làm vua chúa Y-sơ-ra-ên, là dân của Ðức Giê-hô-va; phải, trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va, ta có hát múa.

²¹David said to Michal, “It was before Yahweh, who chose me above your father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of Yahweh, over Israel. Therefore will I celebrate before Yahweh.

²²Ta sẽ hạ mình xuống nhiều hơn nữa, tự xem mình là hèn mạt; dầu vậy, những con đòi nàng nói đó lại sẽ tôn kính ta.

²²I will be yet more vile than this, and will be base in my own sight. But of the handmaids of whom you have spoken, they shall honor me.”

²³Vì vậy, Mi-canh, con gái Sau-lơ, không sanh con cho đến ngày nàng thác.

²³Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.
